I have taken "Princess" to the Chester Animal Clinic since we moved to Chesterfield in 2003 and have boarded her at the Resort since its inception.(We are frequently our of town.) Princess has a number of health issues and has received excellent care from the vets and staff at CAC. The staff are friendly and truly care about their patients. Princess loves "vacations" at the spa when we are out of town. The staff spoil her and she is always excited when we arrive and she knows she is going to stay. I have been very pleased with both her health care and the attention she has received at the spa. On a couple of occasions she has experienced problems and they have been very prompt to call me to tell me about the problem and make recommendations/;ask permission for treatment. My issue with Chester Animal Clinic is with the owner, Dr. Lyne. In my opinion, he is more interested in making money from is clients, than he is with understanding and assisting to find creative ways to help the pets within the families budget. When my dog Jessie was hurt, all he wanted to talk about was surgery and laser therapy. I told him numerous times that his plan was outside our financial ability, but he didn€t seem to listen or more importantly hear me. I tried for a couple of years to use the younger Vets that were hired, but the turnover was so high that I had to look for other options. I now take my pets to Town and Country, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Jordon and his staff. Read Less

I brought my dog here for his rabies vaccine. The vet didn't make me aware that my dog might have reaction shot instead he was more interested in referring me to buy other things for him . My dog had diarrhea, & vomiting a few days after. I called another vet and will be taking him there for now on. They don't knock before coming in the room, and I have a pit that gets pretty excited when he sees other people. It kind of got annoying to keep having listen out to hear when they were opening the door because by the time I noticed someone was at the door my dog would already be over there wanting to get out. I absolutely recommend this facility! Our dog, Tyson, was treated with the utmost respect and urgency. Both Dr. Lyne and Dr. Sargent were exceptional. They did everything they could in office to help Tyson, then referred us to a specialist to help the issue further. They are honest and straightforward people. They don't just want to take your money. On many occasions we received personal phone calls from the doctors themselves checking up on Tyson. Disappointed in the lack of empathy from staff for constantly being inconvenienced with wasted trips to pick up special orders that are not in, even when called prior to confirm. Very quick to tell you to go elsewhere so sadly your pet is not their priority. Then when ask for doctor to call you back to discuss your pets needs to find a better treatment for your pet you are refused. Now I see why I was warned by other pet owners before going there but still tried to give them a chance, lesson learned. Read Less

I was extremely DISPLEASED with the service at Chester Animal Hospital. I am a cat owner and while we were in the examination room several people walked in and out of the room without any regard for how my animal would react. Naturally she kept trying to run out of the room and I had to say something to the 4 people that were in the room with us to keep the door closed. When the Doctor came in he was very loud and did not even take the time to introduce himself to my cat who at this point was very nervous. I will definitely not be bringing my cat back. Read Less

A doctor or nurse wouldn't walk into an exam room with a sick child and immediately stick them with a needle or shove a scope in their ear. They would first allow the child to familiarize themselves and become comfortable with them. A sick animal is no different. A veterinary health professional should know this. They frightened my dog and then blamed him for becoming defensive. He hasn't been himself since we got home yesterday. I'll be glad when he gets over it and I get my overgrown lap dog back. Where to begin... I have been putting off this review for almost a year because I am so torn about it. First off, I gave them a start above what I really think because they honored the free vet visit if you adopt from Chesterfield Animal Shelter. That is how I ended up at their office and decided to give them a try. After I adopted my dog Toby, I had his first visit within 24 hours of adopting him to get a baseline of his health. They were a little pricey but I wanted him up to date on immunizations and blood work so I expected it.  The 2 days later, Toby got really sick, very quickly. They got him in that day but insisted that I stay in my car with him. The vet came out, looked at him and decided he needed an antibiotic shot. He came back with the shot, in the middle of the hot parking lot (he was sick, stuck in the heat & without shade). I had to hold Toby down myself as he gave the injection. He also gave him cough syrup (w/ codeine) for to help the kennel cough run its course. After 3-4 days of cough syrup, I ran out and he still had a terrible cough so I stopped by Chester vet clinic on the way home from work. I asked if I could have a refill of the medication. To put how little the dosing is, Toby weighed 11 pounds... An older lady (later found out it was the owners wife) with very light blonde hair accused me of misusing his cough syrup. I was so shocked that I was spoken to like that, let alone being accused of taking my tiny dog's cough medicine. I followed the prescription label very closely without missing any doses & his little presciption bottle was soooo tiny. This was not a Great dane's cough syrup it was an little 11 lbs rescue that was recovering from who knows what from the shelter. I never returned to the Chester Vet Clinic and always warn anyone from taking their animals there. Read Less

My dog Sophie is always in excellent care at the Chester Animal Clinic! Their costs are reasonable... and quoted ahead of time. I recently scheduled a couple procedures/surgery in addition to medications. The quote came in over $900 which was ok by me. But when I picked her up... I had the nice surprise in receiving a bill that was half the quoted price!!! Dr. Lyne and his staff are so honest, caring, and worthy of all referrals! I trust them... and that is priceless. Our dog, Griffin had ACL repair surgery with Dr. Lyne in 12/2015. Not only did our dog do extremely well with this very complicated procedure, but we felt like the whole experience was positive - from the initial evaluation throughout the post operative care and laser treatments. Dr. Lyne is a wonderful Vet. He saved my sons dog. He had bone fragments in his stomach and intestines. I had never been to this practice. After calling my sons dogs Vet and being told they could not see the dog yesterday or today I called this office and they worked my sons dog in. Many thanks for the care and consideration this office demonstrated. I took the dog back today and all bone fragments were gone. Many thanks for this office. Due to the outstanding consideration and care now this office has gained three dogs. You need a Vet to see your animals when you have problems with your animals being sick and not only for checkups. I feel with my situation and receiving the help when I had never been to this practice I was blessed by them. All the staff are very kind and loving to animals. Dr. Lyne is loving and you can be assured your animals are in good hands with him. Many thanks to this office for what they did for me and you will be always remembered for this. I would just like to take a second to say I not only took my pets here I also worked for this company for almost three years when I decided to move cross country I was heartbroken and my heart is still not the same without Lyne Animal Hospitals. I find it really sad when I see negative reviews about cost. I understand everyone has financial concerns however that should not affect your rating if you were happy with the care. The Doctors and staff care more about your pets than you even know trust me! Sometimes its hard to see past the dollar value, but the medical care here is top notch! The standard of care that LAH provides may be costly but know the services being offered are for your pets well being. Usually you are given more than one option if finances are an issue. I take all of my pets here and have been very pleased with the care and concern provided. I also use the daycare services and boarding facilities at this site. The staff is excellent and I feel so comfortable while traveling knowing that my pets will receive excellent care. I can also highly recommend Nina the groomer. I have an older and anxious dog that Nina grooms - she has been able to do what no other groomer has been able to manage to do for him. In reading the other reviews I see that other people have complained about the high prices at this business. In comparison to other veterinary clinics in this area, this business is about the same, and in one case, lower in cost. People also need to remember that pet care is not a government entitlement! I have been using Chester Animal Clinic and Westchester Pet Resort for over three years. The staff is always helpful and professional. I have confidence that my pets are well taken of when I go out of town and the daycare is amazing! I don't know what I would do without them! I sent my dog to have a tumor removed on his abdomen and a teeth cleaning.  Sadly, my dog came home with  a teeth cleaning and a cyst removed.  When I questioned why the tumor wasn't removed and the cyst (that had already been determined by the same doctor as non cancerous and a non issue) was removed I was told there was a "mis-communication" between the front desk and the doctor........Enter at your own risk! This vet clinic has helped both my dog and cat. My cat had ongoing health issues that were not diagnosed by other Vets and the Vets at the Chester Clinic diagnosed her correctly and with a successful surgery she is healthier than ever. Their prices are reasonable and they have very caring vet technicians.  My elderly dog who is temperamental is handled well there. She has multiple health issues that are being treated in a caring, but  with a palliative care plan type of service. I highly recommend this vet clinic and their boarding facilities. Read Less
