I've had a terrible experience at this practice. My cat Bonnie, who I adopted from this clinic, has had chronic urinary problems since I got her. She would often urinate outside of litter boxes and lie on her back with her back legs open as if her belly/bladder was painful. I have done everything in my own power to help her (purchased multiple litter boxes, changed litter brands, bought Feliway plugins and Feliway collars, got extra toys/cat towers/scratching posts, bought a special urinary health diet dry food, increased her water intake with wet food, etc). I've taken her to this practice over 3 times for this same issue. The first time I brought her in, I suspected she had a UTI because her urine had a potent smell and was cloudy. A urinalysis was done and they found that it was a bacterial infection. She was put on antibiotics and the problems went away. The second time I brought her in for the same issue, the veterinarian failed to collect a sterile urine sample but prescribed her antibiotics anyway (because I said they I thought her urine may have blood in it). The urinary problems following both of these visits, where antibiotics were prescribed, stopped. This last time I brought her in, I told the clinic that I suspected a UTI because she was urinating outside of the box and laying on her back again. Once again, they failed to collect a sterile urine sample. Instead of examining her chart and having common sense to deduce she was likely suffering from a UTI, they decide to prescribe her anxiety medication. Prior to this, she was already prescribed a daily dose of TWO anxiety medications by this clinic... Why the hell would you prescribe a third. On top of this, they decided that since they weren't able to get a sterile urine sample to submit for a culture (which is what we talked about), they did a urinalysis from urine on an exam table, which they then concluded from she did not have a UTI. At this particular visit, I spent over $130 (not emergency either) for a visit, a urinalysis which I did not agree to, and EVEN MORE anxiety medication. This was two days ago. Today when I was in my room with Bonnie, she went to urinate in her litter box. I went over to look at her urine while she going and saw blood. This cat has a bacterial infection that could have been taken care of if the veterinarians at Town and Country did a culture like we had agreed upon. Better yet, if you were unable to collect a sterile sample, why not opt to do a cystotomy (or at least suggest it). You knew this cat has had chronic urinary health issues and you concluded that it is all in her head. I am a graduate student and am really breaking the bank to take care of this poor cat. Because you all put it in my head that this cat is crazy and has terrible anxiety, I had decided I could no longer care for her and was in the process of putting her up for adoption, which broke my heart because I love her. I am so annoyed and upset at you all for the lack of care you provided my animal. When I called another animal hospital in the area and explained the situation, they were appalled she was on so much medication for anxiety. They also asked why a culture was never done, which I'm not sure what the answer to that one is. I told you all to do whatever you needed to do to find out what was wrong with her. You completely failed to provide me with answers and made me think this poor animal was mentally unstable. She is in physical pain now because you all failed to do your job. I am so disappointed in this practice and will never recommend them ever again. Read Less
