Met with Dr. Ruben he is the owner and chief Veterinary doctor there. All of his associate doctors are very knowledgeable and very communicative as is the entire staff really. Pricing is probably about middle of the road for the Fairfax area. If you really want a fantastic Veterinary experience go to Montrose I highly recommend them. I don't have enough words to say how much I appreciate and recommend Montrose Animal Health Center and especially Dr. Texiara. I took my dog there a few months ago and he was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Not a real big deal....some antibiotics, etc.... and all would be good. BUT-He ended up with a very rare disorder called Lymn Nephritis - Fatal!. He was going down hill fast. Dr. Texiara recognized this and did everything her power to help the situation. She mentioned high priced (thousands of dollars) options but was so very reasonable about their long term success. She never made me feel guilty if I didn't chose those options. Supportive, communicative, helpful, always ready to talk on the phone. She even gave me, among the mediations that she put him on, several that were donated, saving me a bundle. Long story short, my pup has made an incredible and miraculous recovery. Dr. Texiara even calls occasional, on her own, just to see how he's doing. As I said, the level of support, an understanding of financial realities and just a real sense of caring not only for the pet but also the owner as they go through difficult times is amazing. Just moved to the area and had my first appointment for my pup with Dr. T. She was great! Not only was she incredibly kind but she was also incredibly reasonable and honest. Pet care is never cheap, so when I spend my money, I want to know that it is going toward good care for my pet. Little Gus, who was miserable before the appointment, is already on the mend less than a day later as she predicted he would be with a regimen of topical and oral treatments. Thank you Dr. T! I don't have enough good words for this place. We take both our dogs here although they each see a different vet.  We are extremely pleased with both.  They always manage to see us immediately. They return phone calls, follow through on action items and are great with the animals. The front desk staff is always polite and professional. My guy is a 97lb American Staffordshire terrier. He's a rescue so we have limited background data on him.  As far as we can tell he had a very bad vet visit as a puppy that resulted in profuse bleeding after a shot.  Fast forward three years .....he hates the vet, especially male vets.  The defensive behavior starts the moment he sees the white coat.  It's kind of funny to watch 97lbs try to hide behind his mom on chair while pretending to attack the vet! Dr. Stacey Texeira is an angel. She works with us to diffuse his "white coat" syndrome. She takes off the coat and coaxes him to her with tasty treats. She lets him adjust in his own time and avoids overly aggressive actions as she builds trust with him. I am especially grateful because there is so much angst and hatred for his breed. She has taken the time to get to know my guy. She spends as much time with us as I need and makes sure I understand the immediate and long term implications of all his issues and treatments. I used t go to Town & Country but the prices and wait got to be too much. I picked up my friends dog from having surgery at Montrose and the staff was so great and helpful. When we got our new dog I decided to take him to Montrose and I've been happy with both vets. I love the staff and the pet hotel is amazing. My dog whines to go back. The receptionist was so sweet and efficient, Dr T. was so personable and explained things thoroughly and in analogies t we could understand. A neighbor recommended Montrose and I'm SO glad I tried them. I had been to another local vet, but the customer service was lacking and the staff didn't even seem to really like pets. The staff at Montrose was very welcoming and friendly and Dr T was great. She took the time to get to know my dog and give her some love before examining her. She was very confident and knowledgable, explained things in detail, and answered all my questions (which is usually a lot). I was first introduced to Montrose roughly 8 years ago when I adopted a Rotweiller (Bailey) from a work collegue. Bailey was a patient at Montrose so we decided to keep taking him there. I also had another Rotweiller (Marshall) at the time that was a patient at a Veterinary clinic in Annapolis, MD where we reside. It took all of one visit with the staff at Montrose to realize that this was the place for both of my dogs. The commute was a bit lengthy (over an hour each way) but the service was unmatched. Marshall experienced complications due to Cancer and had major respiratory complications during one of my visits. In fact, he would have passed away at Montrose had it not been for Dr. Texiera's quick reaction and willingness to go above and beyond her job description. Instead of giving up hope, she literally placed my dog in her own car and sped him to an Emergency Animal Clinic 20 miles away! Had it not been for this extrordinary Veterinarian Marshall wouldn't have lived. "My boys" are now deceased but as a result of the outstanding care I received at Montrose, they have a customer for life. My family is considering another dog and you can rest assure that he/she will be treated by Montrose's professional staff. Read Less
