I am now writing an update on 5/25/18. We recently adopted a new 3 month old kitty named Abra, and of course decided to bring him back to Dr. Rosen, whom we thought was awesome at the time. Everything was great per usual, he received all of the necessary testing and vaccinations that any new cat would receive. Fast forward about 4 days after the first visit, we brought the kitty back because he began to sneeze a lot. During this visit I also brought in a new fecal sample, because the first one was too loose. Dr. Rosen gave us some antibiotics for the sneezing and sent us on our way. 2 days after this visit, we get a phone call disclosing the status of the fecal sample. The sample came back positive. My partner went in to pick up the new meds. The next day, before we gave Abra the parasite medication, we noticed he began to sneeze a bit of blood. When I called to ask about this, they told us to hold off on the parasite medication for 2 days. After 2 days, I called back to let them know he was still sneezing blood. On top of that seemed like the antibiotics weren't working. We were told by the receptionist to bring Abra back the next day so the doctor can take a look at him. I then asked her if we would have to pay for this visit. She informed me that we would. I then asked her the reason, since we were just there with the kitty less than a week ago, for the same issue. She then put me on hold and consulted with Dr. Rosen. Keep in mind, I wasn't being pushy, or difficult. I just asked an honest and simple question about payment.Dr. Rosen then comes onto the line to tell me why we would have to pay for the next visit. He condescendingly tells me "The reason you have to pay is because I need to be paid, and my staff needs to be paid." I was shocked considering I wan't protesting the fact that they required us to pay again. On top of that, this is the owner of this business, care taker of my pet, losing control of his emotions in a matter of seconds. He then proceeds to use dentistry as an example, he asks me "If you went to a dentist for work, and still had tooth pain a week later, wouldn't they charge you again?!" I answered his question with "No, if I got work done at a dentist, such as a filling, and my tooth still was in pain, they would absolutely take a look at their own work, free of charge."He then tells me I can request for my paperwork from them and they will send it over to whomever needs it. I was still in shock at this moment, and let him know that we felt he was an awesome vet, we weren't planning to go elsewhere just because we had to pay, we just asked a simple question. We would have gladly paid, but he jumped all the way to conclusion city. I wanted to quickly be over the bickering. I asked him if we can finally begin the parasite medication, since he mentioned parasites could weaken the immune system. He then says we shouldn't give Abra both medications at once because it would be too strong. I asked him why he sold us parasite medication knowing Abra was on antibiotics. Wouldn't it make sense to wait till the antibiotics were finished? Had we not called about the bleeding, our cat would have been given both medications. Dr. Rosens answer to this was he told us from the start not to give both medications at once. This was in-fact a lie, parasite medication has an expiration date, why would you sell us that, knowing the cat had to take antibiotics for 14 days? End of story, I had to hang up on him because the conversation was going no where. I would recommend only taking your pet here for the basics. If your pet is sick beyond urinary tract issues, go elsewhere. As someone mentioned before, he is good with cats, but not with people. Unfortunately for him, it's the people that pay you, not the cats. I've since set up an appointment with NOVA Cat Clinic, from the get-go the receptionist was knowledgeable about cat's. Wish our Abra luck! Old Review:There aren't words for how fantastic this clinic is. Dr. Rosen is extremely educated in everything Cats. He went above and beyond in diagnosing my struggling cat. Not only did I leave there feeling hopeful for the future of my girls' health but I also left with more education than when I came in. His staff is super friendly and down to Earth, they made me feel like I was right at home. Dr. Rosen sent me home with an array of products and tools to help improve the wellbeing of my cat. They didn't gouge me on the prices either, there was a genuine concern for the health of my cat. At the end of the day, I've found a vet for life and I couldn't be happier. I feel lucky to live a jump, hop and skip away from Dr. Rosen's clinic. If you ever need anything for your cat, you can rest assure you are in good hands at the Feline Veterinary Clinic. Read Less
