Not only did they help me with her medical records, but the girl I spoke with remembered Jojo. Our Angel, Diamond got her stitches out and did great. Finally found a location that was able to trim her nails too...without her turning into Satan. Glen Allen Animal Hospital did an awesome job caring for her, even sent her home with her own progress report lol. Thanks Dr. Burke and all the nurses that treated her like a Princess. Walked me thru the entire process as I was a nervous Daddy dropping my baby off. They even took a great photo for me, although she looks as if she saw a squirrel lol. Dr. Burke is now her new Vet. So happy to finally trust a group that cares for the animals as if their own. This was my post on my wall yesterday after pickup. I know people are emotional over thier loved ones. As I was picking one up, there was also a woman picking up her beloved that she had cremated. They were so thoughtful and caring to her in this time. That made me feel even better about this location. I have doubt that the staff and Dr. Burke will and have done anything they could for any pet through their doors. 4,000.00, NEVER would doctor ever talk to me, only staff. Trusted her so much just because she was a vet. Never again. Left my dog there and waited for a diagnosis. The staff told me to go hom and the Doctor would call. Well, she never called. No one knew what the status was when I called later in the day. Do I got there at 530 to check and they presented me with my dog and a $4,000.00 bill for tests, medicine that I had never even been told about and no diagnosis, just treating symptoms. I paid and reported to the vet association for licensing and they told me have had complaints on her before but cannot handle anything regarding money. What about the unethical scam on people that is being run out of the crossridge shopping center in our neighborhood?. I took my dog to Locke Taylor on woodman road. He had a uti and it cost me $54.00. The doctor looked at the meds from Dr. Burke and said you have been had bad. She gave my dog psychosomatic, diabetes, heart and thyroid drugs on purpose to run up the bill as they are the most expensive. She took blood, X-rays. Even Locke Taylor said that would have been a few hundred in their offic, if it was needed, which it wasn't. My dog only had one symptom and it was a simple uti. If my dog been More than three years old, the doctors told me he would have died within four hours from an overdose being administered medication she did to rack up the bill...I hope this woman rots in hell and someone sues quickly for all our animals die. I am sure Animals have already died. please make sure it's not going to be yours until we can get her out of business. Read Less

08/01/15 Really disappointed in my last visit. Tests went up 20% since my last visit in may. Not sure why but I will be finding another vet, I can't afford this one. 11/11/16 So, I found myself back here for the convenience. However, once again they are trying to get more money out of me. I found the medication they offered, for $130 cheaper online, however the vet would not approve the prescription for the online company, they denied it and are making me pick up a written prescription which I have to mail to the online company, where Dr. Burke could have just faxed back the info and I would have already had the meds. So, not only did they not approve the prescription, they did not tell me they had declined the authorization. After calling them, they said it would take a couple of days to get a prescription written. Really? What should have happened is they should have written the prescription when I was there. I didn't realize it was going to be an issue, or I would have insisted on it. Bottom line is they want you to pay outrageous prices for their meds by making things difficult to get elsewhere. I will NOT go back to this vet ever, and I suggest you consider other vetinary alternatives. Very disappointing! Read Less

The staff at Glen Allen Animal Hospital have been absolutely wonderful to work with. Dr. Burke is great with our puppy and always answers any questions we have (which is a LOT). One time we had an emergency after hours so we called and they have a service that sends your voicemail to the doctor's direct cell and she got back to us within minutes and talked us through what to do. Dr. Burke also gave us great training tips that have worked so well! The front desk staff are all great too We were nervous about boarding our puppy for the first time and every time we called asking for updates they gave detailed notes as to how the puppy was doing. We also got a thorough report once we picked our puppy up about how the boarding went. Dr. Burke and her staff really have a passion for what they are doing and helping new pet owners! The doctor and personal are nice, but the actually customer service is horrible. We took one of my dogs in because he was limping, had xrays done, and learned he had torn ligaments in his knee. The damage was so bad that they would not attempt the surgery. We have been trying to get the xrays from them for a week, so we can take him to another veterinarian, and keep getting the run around. They are also fairly expensive and seem to do a lot of "necessary" steps that we have never had to do before. Read Less

If you love your pets don't take them here. Our dog went in to be spayed and I got a phone call a few hours later about how she probably wasn't going to make it. I went to go see her while she was in recovery because I thought she was going to die. The vet seemed very annoyed that I was there. When I went to see her she looked absolutely pitiful and her incision site looked like someone mangled it. I was told that she had a severe blood clotting disorder which complicated the surgery so they had to staple her up very quickly. I took her to another vet to have the staples removed and he was appalled by her incision site. A year later she had to have knee surgery. We had to spend hundreds of dollars testing her blood beforehand only to find out that she did not have any blood clotting disorders. Read Less

Absolutely horrible. The doctor will NEVER get on the phone and talk to you. Gives everything to assistant and will never answer a question. Spent thousands there and got scammed. STAY AWAY. I only spoke with her in person for one minute and could tell she was a real fruitcake. Plus, they charge 10 times more than any place in town. I got scammed, I admit, I believed everything her staff passed along to me that they said came from her. Real shame because I was so excited when they opened right in my neighborhood and we had nothing over here. I do want to add that the staff was very nice. They either know what she is and need the job or just are puppets following her incompetant orders but they were all very pleasant. Read Less

This business is all about taking as much money from you as possible. Last year, I had a false positive heart worm test. This year, my bill was $100 extra than agreed upon, for unnecessary testing on my 13 year old healthy dog. The convenience of location is not worth the money fleecing. The customer service is atrocious! Instead of refunding my $49, they have lost my business for life. Read Less

If I could give zero stars I would. I took a feral cat that I rescued to this vet because of a suspected UTI. They kept her for 3 days doing crazy tests and charging almost $800 to tell me she did, in fact, have a UTI. Today I call them because my cat is exhibiting classic signs of a recurring UTI to ask if they would call in an antibiotic for her because I am unable to get her to the office until the weekend. First they said they couldn't because of legal reasons. When I commented that this was false because of having other vets call in meds for other pets, they changed their tune and said they would have to talk to the doctor for clarification. When they finally called me back regarding the matter, I was told they would not call anything in for her without seeing her and gave all of these excuses why they wouldn't. I was asking for an antibiotic to help my cat until the weekend, but obviously this "hospital" cares more about making money than the care and comfort of their clients, both the four and two legged ones. Needless to say, I WILL NOT be taking any of my animals to this place again. Totally disgusted! Read Less
