Dr Z, the owner is the best doctor Ive ever had to deal with. Most pet owners want so much to provide the best of care and you need not look further. In fact my pet gets better care than me and I pay 1590 a year for partner MD a premier health care provider That provides 30 min visits, 24 hr dr on call so save time visit the best that might cost a few bucks more but you get what you pay for. I've relied on their care since the eighties. In fact its Saturday they don't officially open til 7:30 but after leaving a message at am about a drop of at 7:30. I was reinforced about the class and thoroughness when at 7:05 am on Saturday morning they were calling to determine if I should drop her off. NOW where does that happen anywhere else. The facilities are located in the far west end but easy access from all over town is available. So next time your pet is under the weather and gives you that I need medical care look, think why not provide the best care to the animal you care so much about it, Dr Z and I go back to the eighties so he has a full plate but take the time when seeing another Dr to insist on meeting Dr Z as all the doctors pass the Dr Z test and all have the zeal for animal care that is second to none. Dont be am animal care loser Be an animal care gold medalist and visit Pooucey Tract Vet. By the way, the Pouncy Track area was provided to the local government from my some one in my family tree (I am a Nuckols by adoption) talk about luck. Cant say they are the cheapest, but if you want people to genuinely care about your animals this is a great place. Dr. Morris has been especially amazing. I have a French Bulldog (problematic at the least) and we have commiserated over the eccentricities of that breed for sure, but I knew she was great when she plopped down on the floor not once but twice, just to make him comfortable. Dr Morris Noticed not just the small health things I barely caught seeing my dog everyday but also the personality growth in my (rescue) pup. Honestly feels like going to the spa for the pups. Even when my pup ate a Pumpkin- Pouncey Tract vet techs and all rifled thru everything to make sure he was okay. Dr Morris is especially aware of not over medicating if possible, which I appreciate. Despite the pumpkin and multiple tests and vaccines, they are loved by all 2 and 4 legged animals in our house!Read Less

I not only love bringing my pets here but they love to come. Lola my dog goes running in and loves to say hello to everyone and they welcome her. The facility is so clean and nice and new. Dr. Z has been the best at diagnosing our pets. He found tongue cancer in our Chow, Grizzley. He has diagnosed pancreatitis in our rescue dog, Confetti. Been going here for about 6 months after relocating from NY. Have always loved it. So disappointed after my visit today. My poor dog needed X-rays and bloodwork and they wouldn't let me pay some today and some next week. I walked out of there with no more answers than I came in with. $187 later and and I left feeling sad for my dog. I've talked this place up so much too. I understand they have policies about payments... But I am just a normal working class person who doesn't happen to have $500 extra dollars on me but would be more than happy to split my payments. I rarely give a 5 star rating; however, their service, knowledge, and follow up are second to none... which is sufficient enough for me to leave a well earned 4 star rating! That said, Dr. Martin's passion to help others & their pets couldn't be anymore transparent and thus the 5 star rating! I am unfortunately in the process of finding a new vet. I have been with this vet office for 6 years. They charge more than other vets I have been looking at, and honestly I don't really think Dr. Z cares about his patients. Dr. Morris is wonderful, but I'm sad to report that she has handed my dog's case over to Dr. Z. I have had some very bad experiences with this man. He is very flighty. Read Less

I have been a client (w/7 cats/dogs) for about 10 years now and absolutely LOVE this practice. Dr Morris, Dr Z and their staff are experienced, approachable & friendly. I have never had a negative feeling about them. They send you customized birthday cards of your animal on their birthday, you receive reminder cards and emails about upcoming care needed for your animals. They have an app for their practice where you can schedule appointments & request refills, and they stay open until 6pm & are open on Saturdays 8-12! Anytime you drop off your animal for a visit, the doctor personally calls you to discuss the visit. Dr Morris is fantastic. You get the feeling that she is a completely down to earth & a genuine person. She welcomes direct emails regarding your furry family. The front office staff (specifically Krissy) are great to work with. They always answer the phones within seconds. I have never had such consistently great customer service. Dr.Z, Dr. Morris, and staff have always been there the support our yearly and emergent needs. In the 4 1/2 years we've been going they always find a way to see him- same day- when we have an urgent needs (anal glands, ear infections, toe nail infection, and an incident of fleas). In times of crisis (we've had 2) they've been the rational and conservative voice regarding treatment compared to out of town vets and the emergency vet clinics. They are aware of costs and have made suggestions on how to save me money. I really value their service and wouldn't consider taking my lil man anywhere else! Read Less

Yes, it's an expensive part of town so there is some truth to a can of dog food being twice as much than as at Wal Mart.  HOWEVER, this Doctor is a dental specialist and if you've got a pet with severe dental pain, unless you're some heartless teabagger, you will do whatever it takes to make your pet better.  This Doctor isn't cheap but he's fair and one of the best in the Richmond area.  So pay up and be a good parent or put your dog down and go get drunk.  It's YOUR choice.
