After much internet-searching, and many word-of-mouth recommendations, I finally found my animals new home.Adams Mill understood the necessity of getting my dog in quickly, because he had an ear infection that would not go away. He was a new dog, so Dr. Nelson took the time on Saturday to sit down with Remington and I, and allow Remi to feel secure. Two hours later, Remington (a large GSD) had allowed us to get a swab of his very sensitive ears, and was relaxed in Dr. Nelson's presence. The sheer volume of time Dr Nelson took in order to make Remington feel safe made me realize how much they care for their patients. He was not held down, muzzled, or backed into a corner. Instead he was petted, belly rubbed, and treated to a couple snacks. Despite having a very stubborn infection, Remington is happy to visit Adams Mill. The staff are all very caring, happy to see the animals, and willing to work with those of us who have unpredictable and hard to work with schedules.Adams Mill offers to clip your animals nails for free with each visit, and encourages "social visits" - where your animal comes into the Vet, gets petted, gets treats, and leaves. The "social visits" encourage a safe-haven feeling for your animals, rather than the "this is where scary things happen!" feeling.I highly recommend Adams Mill Veterinary Hospital to anyone with animals, because having a good vet means happy and healthy animals.
