I would not recommend this place to my friends. The vets may not what they're doing but the front desk is always a chaos. They are not friendly and obviously overworked and stressed. I always had to double check the bill to make sure it's correct, they always forget my military discount(which is only 5%). They took a copy of my ID card and put it in their system and still I had to verify the bill and notice they didn't give me the discount. When I call to talk to the vet they always call back the next day after waiting the whole day for their call. When it was time to put our dog to sleep I called early in the morning to speak to the vet and asked specifically to call me back before they start with their patients. It was after nine and still no call, so I called back and they said there was an emergency, they'll call as soon as possible. So my husband said let's just go. Our dog was an emergency too at the time since she couldn't breath and wouldn't eat anymore. Getting there you could tell everybody was stressed again and the vet obviously didn't want to deal with our issue and said that if we want to put the dog asleep we have to make an appointment!! It was Friday.. our dog couldn't last through a weekend like this and I had to work in the afternoon. So they said they would do it now but she had a assistant doing it and didn't want to deal with it herself. A vet that I have never seen before and didn't know. So that already made me even more uncomfortable in the state I was already in to have to put our dog asleep. He put a muzzle on her to give her the first shot. Then when he came back in he wanted to put the muzzle back on her and I got upset. The dog don't need a muzzle and I don't want to watch my dog die with a muzzle on. It was an horrible experience and we went home with the bill and a poem. There was also little but no info from the front desk lady about what it cost for cremation by itself or separate. and we were in no state to think and ask questions. I have been with Mercury Animal Hospital for well over 20 years and I can't even imagine going anywhere else. I have 4 children that I bring there I just lost one recently. Dr. Henry "Doc" Mckelvin started treating my baby that I recently just lost first and Dr. Nicole picked up right where he left off. Dr. Nicole did everything possible and gave me all the options for my baby, even though she was 15 years old, Dr. Nicole gave me hope even though I knew what I was facing. The staff at this hospital is extra extraordinary because they go above and beyond to care for your love ones. Both Doctors and the staff are very passionate and compassionate when it comes to treating my additional family. All my children have very different personalities and everyone in the hospital is aware from grumpy, grouchy, shy and scary and they are all treated with the same lovable care and that is what I love about them. Lodging for my pet: I am single and working in a corporate world. Our company had two-day seminar out of town and it was a big problem for me because I have a cat living with me and I do not have someone to take care of my pet. I was recently got a puppy and Dr. Nicole came highly recommended by one of her loyal clients. Needless to say, I was very pleased with her services. She was very professional and her mannerism showed she cared with a genuine interest in my pet. The staff were friendly and courteous as well. i took my puppy there for an emer exam and they misdignoased him and he almost lost his eye after i paid over $200 dollars for his exam and meds and i ended up taking him to the emer vet and spending alot of money and then my dog had to be seen by an eye specialist for 9 months and he still cannot see out of his eye sooooo i would never go back and i would never refer my last emeny to them and after all this happen i even called to explain what happen they never said sorry or offer half my money back or all of it anything they bascilly said fock off it u know what i mean if you love your animal never take them here please PS THEY DON"T EVEN DESERVE A STAR NEVER GO THERE PLEASE BY THE WAY I TAKE MINE TO YORK ANIMAL HOSIPTAL NOE THEY ARE AWESOME AND LOW PRICED Read Less

This place charges way to much in vet fees. The annual medical exam is over $50 and includes NOTHING special. I was just charged $38 to have a bandage removed after my dog had surgery there. And the charges for the surgery were completely insane. They seriously charged me $26 for the surgery room, $22 for a recovery room (aka kennel), and $24 for a suture pack (those are bought wholesale at less that $5.00 a piece) They charged me twice for one set of xrays. $90 for the first one and what they called 'follow-up x-rays' were an additional $55. The doctor at this clinic is very nice and professional. However, the lady running the front desk is so rude and unprofessional, I couldn't possibly go back there again! I was quoted the WRONG price for boarding. I brought exactly that amount, and when I showed up, it was way more than the amount quoted. Since I only had that amount, I explained that they would have to bill me for the rest- instead, the lady said "Oh- take it off, just take it off! You got a free night on us!" I told that lady- hey- you are the one that gave me the wrong price, that's your fault, not mine! She continued to be rude to ME about the whole situation. Read Less
