Vca Herndon Reston Animal Hospital

Herndon, Virginia
General Info
VCA Herndon Reston Animal Hospital, located in Herndon, provides caring and expert services for pets. The offered services are Cold Laser Therapy, Dental Care, Pet Euthanasia, Laboratory, Microchipping, Surgery & Vaccinations. They value the strong connection between pets and their families. The practice targets wellness, chronic illnesses, and urgent medical needs through compassionate care. Vca Herndon Reston Animal Hospital in Herndon operates from a unique inner rhythm, which understands the daily motion and touch of pets as they readjust from our hands back to Virginia homes. The clinic pays meticulous attention to entry posture, sound sensitivity, pacing patterns, and focal behavior. Medical tests also fall within this category because checks of the ears, teeth (the cycle of curiosity), abdomen (the cycle of relaxation), or joints (the cycle of balance) are similar to cycles in nature. Pet owners answer questions on subtle changes such as where their pets rest in the house, approaches used when eating, and spending more time by doors or on soft surfaces. Vca Herndon Reston Animal Hospital offers diagnostic services, age-adjusted physical examinations and preventive screenings, GI stabilization, endocrine care, surgical preparation and post-operative reflection routines. Pet appointments can be either an all-day session or split into two shorter visits. Through behavioral readiness, staff prioritize medical tasks by following the pet’s lead and respecting touch boundaries rather than relying on checklists. Families receive daily reports detailing their pets’ behavior with time-specific symptoms and post-stimulation actions and lessons for observing rebalancing. Text check-ins, pacing charts and timelines are to ensure that follow up remains focused on the pet’s feelings rather than just clinical markers. Vca Herndon Reston Animal Hospital assists Herndon families and the residents of Virginia to maintain their natural living style and daily home routine.

The staff here has been great with my very difficult rottweiler. He's a loving dog who hates to have things done against his will, and then becomes problematic. Their approach is reserved. I've been given options, recommendations, and suggested things that I shouldn't avoid or delay and they specify which is which. It is very expensive for the work. The visit is $70 per animal, per visit. I would suggest looking at cheaper options if you can find them for routine or minor needs. I would also look at the cost of a pet insurance plan (reimbursement plan) if you need extensive work done, as their pet plan is significantly more expensive than regular pet insurance and covers less. PetFirst is cheaper and covers a more broad array of work. Plus it works at different businesses instead of just VCA They also have been great at suggesting cheaper options in the event that cost is a concern for services outside of their offices. Bring your pet here if you have the funds to support it and you'll leave happy. Read Less

Recently having moved into the area, I was looking for a vet office. My older dog, having many health issues-epilepsy, hip dysplasia, an enlarged liver and a cancer survivor who had recently had surgery to remove a tumor, received the best care she could have received anywhere, at any office. I know this to be true as we were given every chance to choose what we wanted to do for treatments, it was explained what would be best for her issues and explained thoroughly. As we treated her, I often received calls from our Doctor to check up on her progress or decline. When it came time to let her go, we were given a room, our whole family attending, to see her to the other side, to comfort her and sit with her on the floor holding her so she had no fear nor knew what was happening. A dignified end to a wonderful life. Dr. Thigpen was candid but compassionate and did not push us to do anything we did not wish to do. After making the devastating decision to let her pass, Dr. stayed with us until Jayne was gone and gave us time to stay with her for as long as we wanted. We were not bombarded with a bill as soon as we walked out of the room, which we expected as business is business. We were in tears and grieving and did not receive our bill until 30 days later via mail. It was a relief because if I had to sign a credit card slip after losing my best friend that I'd had by my side for 10 years, since she was a baby, I think I would have fainted on the floor. I would recommend this office to anyone who cares about their companion and wishes to receive compassionate care.-Michele White Read Less

The staff at VCA are very professional and caring. When I was worried about my dog, the friendly receptionist was able to make me an appointment the same day. I took my 15 year old German Shepherd here for some cumulative health problems. The vet was was compassionate and did not try to pressure my decision and was realistic about my dog's prospects. They gave me time to mourn my dog - his passing was very comfortable and painless. There were no "surprise charges" and they let me settle my bill before the procedure, knowing that it would be painful afterwards.
