So we put my Baby Bailey Blue to rest. This was the one of the hardest and heartbreaking decisions Husband and I had to make. The nurse at the Vets promised to make my Baileys paw prints ( two copies, one for Husband and I and another requested by My 6 year old. The nurse did say she will. Okay. So I waited a week after and nothing. I called, They said they send them out to us we should get them in 5-7 days. Okay maybe the mails late. So in ten days we got a letter about how Bailey will meet us at the rainbow bridge. Oh man that tore us up reading it. Well today I called about the paw prints that I have not gotten. I told the lady please tell me the truth, do not sugar coat it or make us wait for something we will not be getting. She said let me check. She said one question did you receive anything from us after. I said a letter about the rainbow bridge. She said then I am so sorry we did not make them if that's all you got. I was choked up and said have a nice day goodbye. Here is the kicker! If the avoiding telling me the truth for a couple weeks was not enough. She calls back and said oh the nurse gave them to you as you were leaving. I said oh no she did not. Now I am starting to question if she may have. UNTIL.... the lady on the line said yes she did, she said she went up to your red truck and handed them to you!!!! I said " funny thing we don't even own a red truck have a nice day goodbye!" Wow they even tried to make up a lie!!!! Horrible! I will NOT be recommending them to ANYONE! I was going to go with maybe they forgot but to make up a bold faced lie!!! Bad business decision! Shame on you all! My review will be made on every social media site and all the places I can write a review! We are already having a hard time with our Bailey being gone, then you choose to lie!

I just have to say the hospital staff is amazing and very helpful, polite, patient, understanding and all around awesome. I took my dog Luke there last night, originally for his first checkup but turned into a sick visit. First off we were greeted the moment we walked thru the door. We were given our paper work and seen almost immediately after completing everything. I am mad I didn't get anyone's name because I was so overwhelmed with my puppies diagnosis but they should know who they are. The One thing I appreciated the most was they explained everything so I could understand, and their patience was great. It was a lot to comprehend and they gave me options to review. I was getting worried because it was the end of the day and I'm sure it was past their time to leave but they didn't rush or pressure me to make a decision quickly. They took great care of Luke and sent us home feeling hopeful. I also spoke to the staff this morning and they checked up on his condition, answered any more questions I had and reassured me things are going well and how they should. I am so glad I chose this vet to bring my baby.

Too expensive. No real diagnosis. Dr. Coutts did labs and didn’t know how to interpret results aside from recommending us to a neurologist (which could have been done without the labs). Waste of time.

Refused to treat my dog in an emergency without a $500 cash deposit. Did offer to kill my dog for free. Dog was in serious condition and in terrible pain. It was all about the money. Crater Road Vet...
Refused to treat my dog in an emergency without a $500 cash deposit. Did offer to kill my dog for free. Dog was in serious condition and in terrible pain. It was all about the money. Crater Road Veterinary Hospital was superb and was very reasonable with their charges. HAH had Hopewell Animal Control tell me I owed them $79.80(for nothing)I recommend that anyone that loves their animals stay away and avoid Hopewell Animal Hospital or Hopewell Animal Control. They are all about the money not service or love. Had the audacity to send a card for rabies vx in 1/09/2018.

They are focused on ensuring your animals care. Without them my dog would still be having seizures almost every day. They also don't do testing, shots, or treatment that your animal doesn't need.

My Vet was out of the office and my dog needed immediate care. My internet search for the best hospitals located the Hopewell animal center. I called the office and was seen by Dr. Harrison. He was compassionate, honest, and caring. My pet had to be referred to the Emergency Vet. Dr. Harrison stabilized her so that she would make the trip to Richmond. He went the extra mile and had never saw me or my pet.
I highly recommend his office and services.

My dog was diagnosed with IVDD 5 years ago and the MD suggested that I put him down. 5 years later my dog is happy and healthy and would have been dead if I listened to them. Please take your pet elsewhere for care. I know there aren't many options in the area but Disputanta Animal Hospital is very close to the area and will take excellent care of your dog. The doctors and staff at Hopewell Animal hospital are rude, lazy and couldn't care less about your pets!

Esther the lady that runs the kennel part is so so nice HOWEVER the lady vet, (short dark hair) reminds me more of a high pressure sales person at a high dollar figure salon... bouncing in and out of the room adding up cost and letting you know every few min just how high she can run that bill. With her... It's all about MONEY and how much she can soak you for. My dog is quite elderly and yes, he has a lot of issues, I want him comfortable for his last days... Treat his immediate needs, but omg dozens of test, biopsies, ultra sounds...?? on an aged fellow who is just about at his end?? NO, Why put him thru torture when his time is so short..? ONLY for the bucks... It was when she added.... "AND OF COURSE his teeth are JUST NASTY" that really pissed me off. His teeth are not nasty. He has amazing teeth for a dog his age... when she said that she had not even looked in his mouth... He'd just had them cleaned again a few mo earlier... and at 14 he had had them cleaned every yr of his life

This is our first visit which was a walk-in. After calling several vet clinics for Sat appt. this is the only one that even offered a standby appt. They warned me I'd be fit in between appt but they still got me in and out in a timely manner. Dr Harrison was so kind and reasonable in his treatment and explained all the cost up front which were very reasonable in comparison to other vet clinics. I highly recommend this vet clinic. I will now be bringing all my animals here.

I an President of Fur-Ever Home Rescue out of Virginia Beach, VA. We used the wonderful folks here for a detailed surgery for one of our rescue dogs that needed orthopedic surgery, a detailed procedure known as an FHO or Femoral Head Ostectomy.
The staff and specialist did a wonderful job with our girl. Her recovery time was less than anticipated, and she is now running and playing normally. I will be using them again!

Dr. Harrison and his associates are very caring vets. They are very careful in making sure your pet gets the care it deserves but are also cautious about ordering unneccessary tests and they always give you options and explain pros and cons. The staff takes the time to get to know you and your pets and they are quite generous with treats, which makes my dogs very happy campers! The new facility is wonderful with a large waiting room. Appointments are kept on time so you won't spend tons of time waiting to be seen.

I've gone to several vets in the Tri-Cities area, but I won't take my animals anywhere but Hopewell. The doctors have seen me through some of the worst times with some of my animals and they are my top choice for anything animal related. My mother's dog goes to VCA in Heights, but I feel Hopewell is so much better. They remember your name, your pets, they are very knowledgeable, they don't charge you stupid fees, and they aren't nearly as expensive as any other vet. They care more about getting your animal well and taking care of it, then about the money.

Too expensive. No real diagnosis. Dr. Coutts did labs and didn’t know how to interpret results aside from recommending us to a neurologist (which could have been done without the labs). Waste of time.

If you are on the fence like we were please give her a try, at least visit. I highly recommend her, just make sure your pups are up to date on their mandatory vaccines.

Crater Road Veterinary Hospital was superb and was very reasonable with their charges. HAH had Hopewell Animal Control tell me I owed them $79.80(for nothing)I recommend that anyone that loves their animals stay away and avoid Hopewell Animal Hospital or Hopewell Animal Control. They are all about the money not service or love. Had the audacity to send a card for rabies vx in 1/09/2018.

They are focused on ensuring your animals care. Without them my dog would still be having seizures almost every day. They also don't do testing, shots, or treatment that your animal doesn't need.

My Vet was out of the office and my dog needed immediate care. My internet search for the best hospitals located the Hopewell animal center. I called the office and was seen by Dr. Harrison. He was compassionate, honest, and caring. My pet had to be referred to the Emergency Vet. Dr. Harrison stabilized her so that she would make the trip to Richmond. He went the extra mile and had never saw me or my pet.
I highly recommend his office and services.

My dog was diagnosed with IVDD 5 years ago and the MD suggested that I put him down. 5 years later my dog is happy and healthy and would have been dead if I listened to them. Please take your pet elsewhere for care. I know there aren't many options in the area but Disputanta Animal Hospital is very close to the area and will take excellent care of your dog. The doctors and staff at Hopewell Animal hospital are rude, lazy and couldn't care less about your pets!

Esther the lady that runs the kennel part is so so nice HOWEVER the lady vet, (short dark hair) reminds me more of a high pressure sales person at a high dollar figure salon... bouncing in and out of the room adding up cost and letting you know every few min just how high she can run that bill. With her... It's all about MONEY and how much she can soak you for. My dog is quite elderly and yes, he has a lot of issues, I want him comfortable for his last days... Treat his immediate needs, but omg dozens of test, biopsies, ultra sounds...?? on an aged fellow who is just about at his end?? NO, Why put him thru torture when his time is so short..? ONLY for the bucks... It was when she added.... "AND OF COURSE his teeth are JUST NASTY" that really pissed me off. His teeth are not nasty. He has amazing teeth for a dog his age... when she said that she had not even looked in his mouth... He'd just had them cleaned again a few mo earlier... and at 14 he had had them cleaned every yr of his life

This is our first visit which was a walk-in. After calling several vet clinics for Sat appt. this is the only one that even offered a standby appt. They warned me I'd be fit in between appt but they still got me in and out in a timely manner. Dr Harrison was so kind and reasonable in his treatment and explained all the cost up front which were very reasonable in comparison to other vet clinics. I highly recommend this vet clinic. I will now be bringing all my animals here.

I an President of Fur-Ever Home Rescue out of Virginia Beach, VA. We used the wonderful folks here for a detailed surgery for one of our rescue dogs that needed orthopedic surgery, a detailed procedure known as an FHO or Femoral Head Ostectomy.
The staff and specialist did a wonderful job with our girl. Her recovery time was less than anticipated, and she is now running and playing normally. I will be using them again!

Dr. Harrison and his associates are very caring vets. They are very careful in making sure your pet gets the care it deserves but are also cautious about ordering unneccessary tests and they always give you options and explain pros and cons. The staff takes the time to get to know you and your pets and they are quite generous with treats, which makes my dogs very happy campers! The new facility is wonderful with a large waiting room. Appointments are kept on time so you won't spend tons of time waiting to be seen.

I've gone to several vets in the Tri-Cities area, but I won't take my animals anywhere but Hopewell. The doctors have seen me through some of the worst times with some of my animals and they are my top choice for anything animal related. My mother's dog goes to VCA in Heights, but I feel Hopewell is so much better. They remember your name, your pets, they are very knowledgeable, they don't charge you stupid fees, and they aren't nearly as expensive as any other vet. They care more about getting your animal well and taking care of it, then about the money.
