I quit going to Blooms when they performed surgery on my dog. She had pyometra and needed a hysterectomy. When I picked her up from the vet they did not seem to take the time to explain anything to me such as after surgery care, stitches, medications - nothing at all. The surgery itself went fine, however, they failed to close the incision completely and it became infected. I had to rush her to the emergency vet after hours. The incision was very red, had puss coming out of the unclosed area, and she had a fever. The emergency vet cleaned her up, closed the incision, gave her antibiotics to take and all was fine after that.
Regarding the bill, they gave me an $800 estimate for the surgery. When I checked out, the bill was over $1200. I had to spread the money out between credit cards just to pay for the surgery because they underestimated the bill. I also had to borrow money because I did not plan for the additional expense.
Needless to say, I have never gone back there. I would not recommend it. Sure they have a nice building, but they change doctors often so you can never develop a relationship with any one vet.
Any time my dogs were boarded there.... or spent the day at the groomers, my dogs always came home very thirsty. And I do mean thirsty like they never had a drink of water. I do not think they were walked either.
In my opinion, this office is after your money. Not the care of your pet.
