I took my dog to his groom / clean. They sedated him for his groom. I go home and I realize that he’s bleeding from his right leg. His bleeding doesn’t stop for quite a while so I take him back. The doctor said “ I can’t be bitten so there’s nothing I can do “ she then left and I stayed talking by myself. Now there’s blood all over my car , my floor , my own clothes , and shoes. Also my dog doesn’t even smell pleasant and his groom does not look nice. I payed way too much for this crappy service. I do not recommend going here. Pet I will do you better Read Less

I’ve been going to this vet for years, and the service has been going downhill for the last 5. I don’t know if it’s under new ownership but prices have more than doubled in 5 years. When i put my last dog down it was less then $250. Today they wanted $451 to help put my dog out of his misery. They also couldn’t take credit cards and wanted cash or a check. They weren’t willing to answer any inquiries into why their prices were so high other than inflation. We are now searching for someone else to help us in an already stressful situation. Read Less

I went in to establish our dog as a new patient due to our move in to the area. I made an appointment for 5/30/2017. Our dog has severe skin allergies, Dr. Shaughnessy evaluated our dog wrote 2 prescriptions and all was well. COSTCO didn't have the dose needed to fill the script so I went back to the office to get it filled (at a higher price, but the dog needed it). THEY DELETED THE RECORD OF HER VISIT! They didn't delete my $113.25 payment. "Your dog needs to be reevaluated". This all happened in less than a week. Not like it was 6 months ago and they archived the record. They either never wrote our dogs visit down or they flushed it. I have never heard of a Doctor deleting a patient's record. Now the dog doesn't have her medication and I'm out $113.15. I'm going to a different Vet. Read Less

I had my pet groomed at their facility and she looked great. I am writing a review for their clinic because they had called me one time while my pet was being groomed to notify me that my pet's vaccines were overdue and that they can update them for me at their clinic. I usually take my pet elsewhere for shots but since she was already there it was just too convenient to say no. I had gotten a call from the doctor telling me how her exam went and what was done. I did have a few questions about preventatives and she was very thorough with me over the phone and answered all my questions. Usually at the other clinic where she used to go, it would take forever to hear from a doctor and I would usually get short answers from and still be left confused. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a animal hospital that truely cares about your pets!!! Read Less

I've worked at Blooms Crossing for about a year now. I started in boarding and then I moved to reception. I know for a fact that it would be very hard to find a better boarding facility than the one here. The girls down there work very hard to keep the animals happy and comfortable and it's not an easy job by any means. The cages are kept clean and the animals are kept comfortable with clean blankets and beds and a constant supply of water. The dogs have a huge backyard to run around in and they get taken out about 3 to 4 times a day. The staff really does go out of their way to care for the animals. I stayed past midnight on the fourth of July last year with another member of the boarding staff to comfort the animals throughout a firework display at Signal Hill Park right behind the hospital. I have also witnessed the owner of the building try to find homes for multiple animals that clients have told us they were giving up, instead of just turning his back on them and telling them to go to an animal shelter. I've watched the groomers handle very old dogs with the utmost care and allow them to lay on blankets on the floor for the duration of their groom so they won't have to stand for a long time on the grooming table. I was also here when we took the cast off the leg of a dog in boarding and his leg was covered with infected sores due to the cast being too tight (it was done at a different clinic). We treated his leg and disinfected it multiple times a day and allowed him to stay isolated in a daycare for the rest of his stay to keep his leg clean and give him an entire room to run around in to prevent his leg from getting even stiffer after being in a cast for so long. Nowhere is perfect, but if you want to bring your pet to a place that really does care about its health and happiness I would definitely recommend bringing it here. Read Less

Boarded my dog recently and was a little apprehensive as we are new to the area and we are boarding our dog in a new place. I asked to see the facility, and was told they were too busy to do it. There were two people at the front desk and no one in the lobby. We needed to board my dog so we tried to schedule an appointment right there and I was told to do it online. When we arrived to drop off our dog, they wouldn't take the blanket that my dog uses for comfort when we are away, i was told that there was no guarantee we would get it back. Before we relocated here we use to go to a place that was much larger than this facility and we always got our belongings back and couldn't understand this but what ever. . Had to pay cash because the machines were down and after reading the reviews this must be a cash only business because its been almost a month and still are not working. We needed to board our animal so i had no choice but to leave her here we couldn't find openings elsewhere. When we picked up our dog on Sunday, there was a smell in the lobby and the person working was not friendly at all. Not sure what happened at this place but my dog ended up vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours after being there. I called my old vet to get advice as i was not going to go back to this place. I also paid 18$ to clip my dogs nails and it was hard to tel if they were trimmed or not. At this point I didn't care and will not go back to this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This place is a joke. We made appointments on the phone for our 2 cats both times were apologized to only after we got there because they did not have anyone coming in to do the exam even though we were scheduled. On the third time, we were told that the appointments would be free because of the inconvenience and we would pay for the blood work that would be in after a day. Its been a week now and they are telling us that someone will call us. I have had my girlfriend call twice and they have been telling her someone will call, almost like they are taking advantage of the kindness. So I decided to call and the girl answering the phone Kara seems so clueless as to what is going on and how to deal with a patients inquiry to their pets blood work. Her statement after I said I would like the results of what should have been delivered a week ago now was "I don't know what to tell you but I left a message with the tech". Are you kidding me? This place is being ran to the ground, while I cannot speak to the boarding portion of things, their staff at the front and the reliability and competence of their vets and techs is totally amateur. Not to mention, we go to pay our $500 bill and they don't have credit card machines or debit machines working nor is there an ATM in sight. Thank goodness my gf had a check book. So many other places to go and we will be going. Oh and if anyone is trying to verify or discredit this from the business you see my name and my gf is Dr. Shaunn Carrington you should know us and our 2 cats by now Maxwell and Kenny. I definitely will not be boarding here ever again. After booking over the phone for boarding, the receptionist on the phone took my card information and said that it would be charged in advance. Upon picking up my cat, the total was not only more money than expected (because of Christmas up charges, which the phone receptionist had not informed me of), but because the computers were not working it was unclear whether or not I paid in advance. The current receptionist insisted she call her boss (the owner I assume), who spoke to me on the phone. He was unapologetic and was not only short with me but said that the only option was to keep my cat until the computers were working or to pay in full again. He made it seem like this was my fault. The owner was so rude on the phone and the receptionist (who tried her best to help) was unsure how to work through the computer. The whole ordeal took 45 minutes (during which I was the only person being helped). The experience was so bad that the receptionist said as I was leaving, "I understand if you do not want to board with us again."Read Less

I've been boarding here and vaccinating here for 3 years with no problems at all. The boarding is cheaper than most places. Always treated well, and never had long waits. Never had issues with front desk people nor did I ever feel that I was being overcharged. Always had at other customers there as well so they must have liked it. Compared to my old vet in Vegas this place doesn't compare, in which my vet was a good 30 min drive away but worth it. I moved to Centreville and kept coming here still so that must count for something. Now I'm back in Manassas just down the road so I'll keep coming here until I feel I shouldn't .. Read Less

I quit going to Blooms when they performed surgery on my dog. She had pyometra and needed a hysterectomy. When I picked her up from the vet they did not seem to take the time to explain anything to me such as after surgery care, stitches, medications - nothing at all. The surgery itself went fine, however, they failed to close the incision completely and it became infected. I had to rush her to the emergency vet after hours. The incision was very red, had puss coming out of the unclosed area, and she had a fever. The emergency vet cleaned her up, closed the incision, gave her antibiotics to take and all was fine after that. Regarding the bill, they gave me an $800 estimate for the surgery. When I checked out, the bill was over $1200. I had to spread the money out between credit cards just to pay for the surgery because they underestimated the bill. I also had to borrow money because I did not plan for the additional expense. Needless to say, I have never gone back there. I would not recommend it. Sure they have a nice building, but they change doctors often so you can never develop a relationship with any one vet. Any time my dogs were boarded there.... or spent the day at the groomers, my dogs always came home very thirsty. And I do mean thirsty like they never had a drink of water. I do not think they were walked either. In my opinion, this office is after your money. Not the care of your pet. Read Less

We had a fire in our house and had to board our cats and dogs for several months. All the cats came home with horrible cases of ear mites even though we were charged for treatment for ear mites more than once Our golden retriever, a breed known for being sweet and living came back to us jumpy and snappy. The owner, Peter, is not an honest man. He would tell us different stories depending on when we spoke to him. This was many years ago, the only reason I am leaving this review now is due to a response to another review by Peter where he claimed there was no grooming facility at his office. Such a blatant lie had to be responded to. I mean, the sign out front says Yappie Cuttery:blooms crossing for God's sake! And to support another review, they will charge you for grooming services as part of boarding, and not actually perform them. When my Lil Monster decided he was going to eat a sock, which later resulted in him becoming quite ill, I took him, without hesitation, to Blooms Crossing. They have always been his primary vet they were eager to help, as always. They really seem to care about the animals and do pretty well with their humans too. They usually define that I need more calming in an emergency than the Monster does. Ive recommended them for year to others and will continue to do so. Thanks for always taking care of us and keep up the great standards of service. Read Less

I love that Blooms Crossing Animal Hospital is also a doggie daycare.  My puppy goes here all week, the staff is AWESOME, and if you need some type of Vetrinarian Service and/or Grooming, it's all here.  It's very convenient for working adult!  They are open longer than most Vet Clinics on Saturdays, most close by 12:00 pm, so if you need to get your puppy in for a vet visit, it's better than paying "Emergency Costs" - Just a great place. Read Less

I saw Dr. Walsh on Saturday and I will never take my cats to see him again. He was rough with my cat and not very helpful. I usually see Dr. Bingaman and she is great. Wonderful with my cats, helpful, understanding, etc. I have had only good experiences with her so far. My only negative experience was with Dr. Walsh. If you choose this vet, ask for Dr. Bingaman.
