Absolutely amazing. Staff was professional and caring while maintaining an upbeat vibe to such a stressful place. All of the techs and doctors were smiling and helpful which is amazing considering it was late at night and they obviously worked graveyard shifts. They are up front about everything from what to expect on the medical side to breakdowns in costs and your options for both. Considering that they saved Crickets life and provide emergency care at all hours the cost was appropriate. I can't recall her name but we dealt mostly with a female tech with long blonde hair who supported us the whole night. She was incredible and I don't think our night would have been the miracle it was without her. Dr. Thompson was so thorough and forthcoming with what the surgery included and what we could expect afterwords. His "crateside" manner was excellent and I felt confident leaving Cricket in his care. Vet bills in general are more expensive than one would guess and they make sure you know exactly what you are paying for and they provide a very high level of service. The morning after we had taken her home I got a call from a tech making sure she was eating and healing well. She made sure to ask plenty of questions you wouldn't think to offer information about and answered all of my questions too. The emergency team is top notch. I was here at least 6 times in 2017 between May and September. The remodel is a huge help with the layout. The staff genuinely cares about you in the hour of your need. My most recent encounter was with an intern and ER vet. Honestly, he is FANTASTIC and wherever he ends up will be lucky to have him. Being in dog rescue for the past 10 years, I’ve heard and seen it all. He took the time to explain in detail the possibilities of my spaniel’s shoulder injury and he found her heart was enlarged. It was a bit surprising since I’ve known about the murmur forever but it had not changed. He went over the X-ray and all the steps to take moving forward. I love this place. I have had a serious of unfortunate events with 4 of my animals now over the course of 10 years and all of them have been here. Just recently our visit with our dog ended in emergency surgery to remove an object, they all were helpful understanding Caring and informative. My Maltese has a heart problem and early Sunday morning he was having a hard time breathing . I went online and found 24-hour vet I called them to let them know I would be bringing him in. When I got there they took him right away. They got his medicines in him, and put him on oxygen. The front desk ladies were very kind and helpful. The veterinarian talked with me and made me feel at ease. They took really good care of my baby. I am very pleased knowing that they are just down the street in case of an emergency. Everyone is highly professional as well as very nice to deal with. We have used them 3 times for surgeries. Dr. Bradley is exceptional in terms of walking you through the procedure ahead of time and explains what will be accomplished. He follows up post op with care instructions. He does this himself rather than have a tech do it. I have never experienced such a high level of care. They have 24 hour staff in the surgical area to watch over the patients. Took my dog for an emergency and was diagnosed with a herniated disc. Plan of action was surgery ASAP as they claimed chances were better if acted immediately. Labs and exam showed no health concerns. My dog had no prior health issues. Surgery was done, post report was great and no concerns noted. MRI was also done and was told my dog was monitored every hour. 29 hours later they called me stating my dog had fluid on her lungs and her hearth was giving up. I lost my beloved dog and the doctor had no explanation of why. If they were indeed checking up on her every hour and had all those test done how could this happened? They might be less costly but you get what you pay for. In this case almost $6000 later my dog died under their care. I would not recommend the surgery side of this practice if you want quality care for your pet. Read Less

In the past three weeks I had to bring two of my furbabies here for emergency care. Unfortunately my sweet babies Sapphire and Lucky didn't make it, but it was not due to lack of care from Prince William Emergency Vet. The staff here are absolutely amazing, they're friendly, competent and caring. Dr. Smith is so wonderful and he stood by us while we said goodbye to our dog Lucky. They then sent us two beautiful condolence cards for the loss of our furbabies. If we ever end up adopting another animal we will use Prince William as our primary vet. Read Less

My senior dog had a hiking accident on a Sunday. I called my old agility trainer to ask which emergency vet she recommends and she said this place. I was surprised...because we're NOVA Elite and Manassas definitely has a stigma. But I went with it. I called in advance to let them know I was coming and they greeted me by name when I walked through the door. There was a decent wait that first visit but it was completely understandable since my emergency was very minor compared to some of the other patients. We had a reasonable experience with the emergency vet, though maybe not the best I've ever had as far as communication goes, and were referred to an orthopedic surgeon to have TPLO surgery. I wouldn't call it cheap but it was on par with what I'd expect with a Sunday emergency visit with multiple X-rays. I was pretty stressed out about the idea of surgery because of my dogs age. I work in healthcare and I want to know EVERYTHING. I spent days researching the surgery, alternatives, anesthesia risks for a senior dog, etc. I spent a lot of money and time driving to some of the more famous orthopedic vets in the tri state area for consultations. Something never felt right with how the other surgeons rushed and were just ready to go with a TPLO. My dog got better and better but obviously still had something wrong with him. I called my trainer again and she told me to go back to Manassas and ask for Dr. Bradley. So I did. Dr. Bradley and his LVTs were great. They did the most thorough exam of any of the surgeons I consulted. They had lots of visual aids to describe the procedure. Dr. Bradley was also pretty quick to say that surgery might not be indicated without me even bringing up my reservations. The LVTs were sharp and confident and gave me a tour of the operatory and recovery areas without my having to ask. For the first time, I felt comfortable. I left my dog behind and told them to do whatever they felt was right carte blanche. He received a mild sedative and had yet another exam/xrays while sedated. They decided he didn't need surgery, called me immediately, and proceeded with non invasive treatment. ITS A BIG DEAL WHEN A SURGEON IN ANY FIELD RECOMMENDS AGAINST SURGERY! I'm very happy and grateful for that healthy level of skepticism and independent diagnosis instead relying on what the previous vets had said. We went back a couple times a week for a couple months for follow up treatments. My dog is doing great now and I'm ecstatic that he didn't have to have major surgery at his age. The LVTs were great at all his follow ups and the front desk forwarded all his records to my primary vet without any effort on my part. I walked in the door as a "tough patient" and walked out completely satisfied. Highly recommend Dr. Bradley and his team. Read Less

Last night we took our cat to Prince William Emergency clinic. They were very caring and and understanding to our cat's needs. She was extremely sick and lost her battle but the dr there was very helpful and sympathetic to our pain. We were also thankful for the kindness and help and effort they gave in trying to save her but unfortunately it was too late. If anyone has any health need for their precious animal I recommend you to bring them in . They will be treated with the best of care here. Read Less

After an unexpected emergency with our dog, Isabel, the staff here was more than helpful with making sure we were up to speed with what was going on with her as well as the charges. Thanks to their skilled vets, she was able to survive surgery and the care they gave her post-operation was so much better than we could have asked for. I went in to have my cat put down. The moment I walked in the door the staff was very helpful, and very accommodating. They clearly could tell I was very upset. They promptly got me into a room and seen by the dr. One of the girls even gave me a hug which meant the world to me. I have never been to this clinic before this and the fact that they treated me like family was amazing. And everyone was very nice from the front desk, pet nurse, and dr. First, let me say that no one ever wants to go to the emergency hospital. Second, this was my first time ever having to utilize an emergency hospital as I've work at a vet hospital for 11 years in the past. Having said that, this was a positive experience with kind, professional and caring people. From April to Brian and especially Dr. Smith. Thankfully my dog was not critical but she was in a lot of pain. While other emergencies arrive needing attention immediately, we never felt any less important. Thank you to all of you. My cat Beau was not feeling well at 1 am on Christmas morning...with his regular vet closed I called here hoping that they would be open. The woman who I spoke to on the phone was incredibly helpful and after I explained Beau's symptoms to her she said I should bring him in right away. My fiancé and I drove there and they were able to see Beau within just a few minutes of us arriving. Everyone we interacted with so helpful and very much understood that Beau isn't just a pet, he's family. Dr. Kent Smith was taking care of him that night. He kept me in the loop every step of the way and made certain I understood what was going on. After a 2am "let me just clip this knot out real quick" went horribly sideways with my cat, I called Prince William Emergency Vet and they were immediately professional and helpful on the phone, recommending that I bring him in. Immediately when we came in (me still freaking out) everyone was calm and professional. We were informed of every step and cost. Dr. Smith helped us and was warm and informative. They even offered to show me how to properly groom him, and he is now sporting a rather dashing lion cut to go with his stitches. 100% the best vet visit in my accident prone kitty's life.Read Less

I brought my cat, BeepBeep to this vet tonight because she was showing critical signs of sickness. I was greeted warmly by the staff. The staff were very caring and helpful. They were all so kind. They helped me with my cat's accidents and provided me with solutions. The veterinarian (Dr. Smith) offered me courtesy services and went above and the staff went beyond what they needed to. They educated me and were very caring and supportive. Dr. Smith is a fantastic, personable, educated veterinarian who cares deeply for animals. Prince William Emergency Veterinary Clinic is amazing. That is what these folks professionally delivered in their daily diligent every day work. I am grateful and daunted about this hospitals competent ability. I may start at the top with Dr. Smith the Director and Doctor Thompson or Dr. Henderson- all masters at their craft. However, I will not stop giving compliments to the leadership or the the glamorous team members. EVERYONE, including Brian who treated me for my mauling injuries and to the technichians, helpers and ALL, including the front desk. Nothing short of professional dedicated experts who have a process and who understand what is necessary to deliver best practices. I take my hat off to these folks. They are absolutely up to the challenge to what they do. I will not fail to mention that their final invoice was very reasonable and probably goes just far enough to ensure that they deliver quality and that they stay in business. A wonderful hospital. This is a place you never want to go to, but are so grateful they are there when you need to. I have taken pets there in the past and they were always great. Sadly, I don't live in the area anymore, we moved out to Front Royal. I woke up about 2:30 this morning to find one of kittens almost non-responsive. I woke up my fiancé and we packed up Frankie and headed to Manassas Park. We both knew it would be worth the drive. We were greeted with pure friendliness and compassion. Frankie was rushed to the back before I even gave my name. The staff got all intake information and kept me up on all his conditions and tests and everything. After finding the best diagnoses, they gave an estimate of options and recommendations. All Veterinary Clinics are expensive, but the prices here are rather reasonable (and of course our pets are worth it!). After signing off on the procedures, there I sat. Waiting room is nice, facility is nice. I listened to the lady at the front desk who was so nice to me help 2 other fur-babies that came in...and she was just as amazing to them. (I wish I would have gotten her name). Frankie came, they gave us the medication with instructions and explained everything. The only thing that I wish would have been different is the doctor himself. He wasn't very personable and after explaining our budget to him, made some very pricey recommendations, but then told us he wasn't sure if it would help. He made it out that our kitten was probable to survive....but he wasn't fully confident. Made it alittle uncomfortable....but over all....deserves 5 stars. My kitten is at work with me today...snoozing. Fingers crossed he survives!Read Less

Today was my first time visiting and unfortunately it was to have my beagle buddy, Benny, laid to rest.  Dr Smith came out when he saw me looking a little confused on where to go and he took Benny in for me.  Everyone was so nice and compassionate and explained everything in detail and didn't mind my crazy questions.  Dr. Walsh took care of us and was just so sweet and kind.  She knew we had a tough decision to make and she helped us think through it.  When it came time to check they brought the paperwork to us so we didn't have to wait in line.  They really showed us how much they cared.  For a sad day for my family these guys made it a little more easier!  Thank you all! On Saturday afternoon, my dog's bandage slipped off after being re-bandaged on Friday evening at his regular vet--they had done it too loose and it came off in our parking lot like a sock or boot. He has an infected paw laceration, and since it happened on July 4th I have spent close to $1,500 on his treatment--sutures, bandage changes every other day, various antibiotics, pain pills and sedatives, and diagnostic tests. He is currently on the up and up but still technically has a form of MRSA--MRSS--and a pseudomonas species bacteria. My vet had closed an hour before so I was forced to take him to emergency. My vet refers its clients to Hope Advanced Vet in Vienna for emergencies. I called them and despite being a referred vet by my vet--meaning to me they must have some sort of partnership in exchange for my vet bringing it clients/$$--they refused to do a simple clean and re-bandage of his wound without having a full veterinary exam first (for $175, which wouldn't include the fee for cleaning and bandaging) since "we don't have his records so we can't treat him without a full exam" (this makes no sense to me, as we're not living in the dinosaur ages now--if they are partners with my vet, they should be able to have access to his digital records). They were flippant and not helpful at all. A friend recommended Prince William Emergency Vet, so I gave them a call.Prince William Emergency was sympathetic, friendly and had a positive, "we want to help you" attitude from the second they answered the phone. When I informed them of my situation and financial concerns--I am totally broke after all of these medical bills over the past month--they immediately put me on hold to speak with their vets about what they could do to help. Since my dog was infected with MRSS they couldn't have him come into the building, but said they would send out some techs to clean and re-bandage my dog outside in the shade because they wanted to help me out. They even apologized for the "less than ideal" scenario, when they could've easily just told me to f*ck off and find somewhere else. They even agreed to charge me for only the tech time and the bandage--$85. My vet charges $55 for the same, so considering it's an emergency vet that had no obligation to help me and hadn't ever seen my dog before, this was incredibly reasonable and mostly DECENT of them to do--no highway robbery here (COUGH Hope Advanced Vet).It was heat index of 106 degrees in the middle of the afternoon, and two techs came out with all of the medical supplies and sat there sweating for 15 minutes with me and my dog, cleaning and bandaging his wound. From the time I called to the time we left was 30 minutes--they saw him as soon as I could get there. I am incredibly thankful to them for helping me and my dog out with a very basic but necessary procedure, and not screwing me over when they knew they had me by the balls like Hope Advanced Vet tried to do. I'm already in the hole over all of this and it was such a breath of fresh air to find an emergency clinic that was NOT this opportunistic vulture waiting to kick me when I'm down for something as basic and quick as a bandage change. From now on I will go to this vet WHENEVER another emergency scenario arises for either my dog or cat (hopefully won't happen again but always possible), and will be recommending this place to all of my pet parent friends! I brought my dog in last fall and I was very happy with my overall experience. My dog was well taken care of, they listened to my concerns and I was extremely happy with my overall bill. It was a little less than I was quoted for originally and significantly less than two other places I called. I felt they did the things that were necessary and nothing more. We have utilized Prince William Emergency Veterinary Clinic on several occasions.  Two of which ended having to say goodbye to our beloved furry babies.  On all of the occasions, we have found the Doctors and staff to be friendly, compassionate, caring and professional.  On at least one occasion, Dr. Smith called us to follow up on a visit because he thought another course of care might eradicate the skin disorder that our dog was suffering from.    I cannot say enough great things about this Clinic and feel tremendously lucky to be in such close proximity of wonderful knowledgeable people for the care of my furry ones. Our sixteen-year-old dilute tortie Nacho was acting strangely, pacing and vocalizing as if she were in pain. We took her to the emergency clinic where Dr. Smith checked her over and found she was fine. I was impressed with the calmness and professionalism of the entire staff. They made us feel comfortable and assured that our cat was going to have the very best care possible. While we were there, a woman brought in her small dog which had unfortunately died on the way to the clinic. She was understandably distraught, but Dr. Smith gently led her to a room where she could have some privacy. I was impressed with the compassion and empathy of this group of special people. We hope we don't have any more episodes like this with Nacho, but if we do, we know where we will turn. Also, my pet was kept considerably longer than it should have been resulting in an extraordinary vet bill at the end of it all. We had to bring my 11 year old Dutch Shepard in for her final visit last weekend. From the receptionist (I think Maggie, no matter the name, she was awesome) to the amazing Dr.'s (we saw Dr.'s Loonam and Smith) we could have only had a better visit with a diagnosis that we knew we could not get. I wish we could have saved our girl but I could not have been more satisfied with the compassion and care showed by the entire staff at Prince William Emergency Veterinary Clinic. Thank you! My dog ate some Motrin. I called and got some advice over the phone. I ended up needing to bring my dog in before the medicine got into her system. They were busy but took her right away and within 5 minutes the doctor called me back to discuss what they did. Got her stomach emptied and cleaned up. These folks are amazing and very professional. I started a Yelp account solely for the purpose of writing this review.Dr. Smith and his staff are so incredibly competent, compassionate and just wonderful. They saved our 11 mo. old basenji's life after she had been hit by a truck our on the highway.My girlfriend and I watched the whole thing happen from 20-30 feet away and were completely devastated and in shock when we came running into the Prince William parking lot screaming for help with our bloodied pup.The staff and Dr. Smith instantly took over as if they had been preparing and waiting for us for weeks. It was unbelievable. They kept us fully updated and informed on every step and asked us to call at anytime of the night even if we just missed our girl and wanted to check in on her.We are from Brooklyn and I don't know if this is just a New York thing or not, but any time we've taken Louise to the vet in NY the doctors are always pressuring you to buy more medication and making you feel like you're making a bad decision if you don't opt for the most expensive treatments or medications. At Prince William we only got honesty and good solid advice. We never felt like they were trying to up sell us or were concerned about anything else than our puppies well being.Because of them our beloved little Louise is, at this moment, sleeping comfortably in her bed, safe and sound.Please support their business because honest, caring and hard working people like these are rare. I was recently at this clinic for my kitten who was very sick and exhibiting symptoms of FIP, as told to me by the vet. For those unfamiliar with FIP, it is fatal and no cure. It is difficult to diagnosis, as there is no blood test. The vet wanted to hospitalize the kitten over night and presented me with a possible bill over $1,000. I am an animal lover, but I also realized that despite hospitalizing my kitten, I was going to lose her. I asked that the vet conduct blood work only and to take it from there and THEN I would decide what I wanted to do. Three hours later, I finally got the result and the realization that she moved forward with an ultrasound and medication that I had not yet been consulted on nor did I approve. I understand that I am not the vet, but I am paying and making the decisions for my kitten. The staff at the front made me feel rushed when I first got there. I was consistently interrupted when trying to provide symptoms and then told to sit and wait. I paid my bill and left and sadly, when I did my follow-up with my actual vet, my kitten had to be put down and it was unbelievably heart breaking. A day later I received a voicemail from the Prince William Emergency Veterinary Clinic during which they first stated they wanted to follow-up on my kitten, followed by that they didn't bill me for a medicine they gave my kitten. As additional note, while I was at the clinic waiting on the blood work, I heard the receptionist make a couple calls to other clients telling them they forgot to bill them on either medicine or tests ran by the vet. I am sorry, but this is poor practice and not the clients responsibility if the vet and/or staff missed a charge. Maybe they should learn to slow down, take time to deal with their clients and listen to what the pet owners are asking for. Read Less

My puppy was very sick with pneumonia a couple months back and this place was amazing, he had to stay overnight to be monitored. I had never left him overnight before so I was one of those worried "dog moms" that called every couple hours to check on him, everyone was extremely nice. One time that I called they had a shift change and the new vet took time to personally talk to me to introduce himself over the phone and let me know he was taking over and that Felix was doing good. This is my second dog rescue that has been treated by Dr. Smith, Dr. Thompson and reviewed by Dr. Loomis.  My dog had acute pancreatitis from a food that another vet near the mall prescribed that was too high in fat!!  He may not live and is fighting for his life.  In less than one hour, Dr. Smith had LuLu in Ultrasound, drained 475 cc of fluid off him, and put in drain for his pancreas.  I am keeping my fingers crossed.  Dr. Loomis wrote that the food was most likely the issue.  Dr. Thompson wrote that no transition to the food is what caused this issue.  Dr. Smith is the best and whether or not LuLu lives will be because God put Dr. Smith on this earth to save our animals.  They are the best emergency clinic and they care like gangbusters to try to save your dog. I took my cat in little over a month ago.  She hurt herself jumping and could not walk.  The lady at the desk was very nice and helpful.  The doctor was fantastic,  they took in her quickly.  it was only a short time late we where brought  back into a room.  The doctor talked to us about what they wanted to do.  We waited little bit while they took x-rays and examine.  It all turned out good.  One thing I really was impressed is we got a copy of the x-ray, they also contacted our local vet (manassas is an hour away) the next day and sent over the x-ray.  I will be using them as our emergency vet from now. The staff and doctors are not compassionate at all. The doctor briefed me on my pets condition in the full waiting room, even interrupting our conversation to speak to another customer who was talking to the receptionist. The doctor seemed annoyed every time she spoke to me and was even argumentative with me before she marched off saying "I have like three other things I'm dealing with right now." They are cold and profit driven. They will try to perform unnecessary tests and x-Rays, so make sure you tell them not to do anything that doesn't seem to make sense because they will definitely try to up charge you for unnecessary procedures.  I will not return because there are lots of emergency vet options in NoVA, I don't need one that's going to try to capitalize on my emergency situation AND be rude about it. Meh. I've experienced better from this clinic in the past.  The staff has changed.   Recently, I brought my pet here in the early weekday morning.  Four assistants were talking about their weekend and paid no attention to my suffering pet but clearly indicated that they had a sense of humor and kindness as they talked to each other. I remember, during past visits, when they called me 'mommy" and brought me tea, so this new kind of service is a huge downer.  The assistant talked to me without love, compassion and caring and didn't pay any attention to my pet.  Everything she said was in a tone of uncompassion, but she managed to say it in a professional manner and read the doctor's notes to me word-or-word.  There was no communication about my pet or to him, it was just all about the paperwork and co-workers.  Even the doctor seemed distant and uncaring.  This particular doctor had a poor attitude, and I am not sure why.  I didn't ask.  The environment has changed and I can only think because the staff has changed.  I would have given it 5 stars in 2014, but today I give it 2 stars because they once had a loving unforgettable atmosphere. Amazing. Dog sitting there was a fight and I called and they recommended I bring the injured dog (that wasn't mine) Super nice on the phone, super nice when I walked in, and super fast through the whole process. Two follow up phone calls and they passed the information on to the normal vet that night. Nowhere near what I was expecting, phenomenally better. Read Less

Had to bring my 3 year old beagle in for an emergency visit late on a Friday night.  I was actually headed to another place when my wife said I should go here. When I pulled up and realized the location I must admit I was a tad bit nervous.However from the moment I walked in I realized that I was in the best place possible for my dog. The staff was great. In fact they were more than great. They were friendly, kind, caring, diligent, polite and much more. In particular Alice and Gloria. They made the entire experience as easy and as smooth as possible.  They were even nice enough to pickup my dog's poop after he went while I was filling out paperwork. To top it off, Dr Smith was the best vet a pet owner could ask for. He was cool about everything and provided a level of comfort that I had never experienced before. The best part was he explained everything to my wife over the phone without hesitation. His genuine concern brought a peace of mind that I have never encountered before in the many emergency visits I have made to the pet ER in the past.The facility itself is a tad bit old and maybe needs some love, but the service that they provide completely nullifies any of it.  This is also offset by the very reasonable pricing that they charge for their services. I've been to some really nice facilities in the past and now I realize what I was paying for. 10 times out of 10 I will choose service over fancy decor.For the sake of my dog I hope I never have to come back, but if for any reason I do, I will always choose this place.*This business is gun carry friendly.
