Took my dog for an emergency and was diagnosed with a herniated disc. Plan of action was surgery ASAP as they claimed chances were better if acted immediately. Labs and exam showed no health concerns. My dog had no prior health issues. Surgery was done, post report was great and no concerns noted. MRI was also done and was told my dog was monitored every hour. 29 hours later they called me stating my dog  had fluid on her lungs and her hearth was giving up. I lost my beloved dog and the doctor had no explanation of why. If they were indeed checking up on her every hour and had all those test done how could this happened? They might be less costly but you get what you pay for. In this case almost $6000 later my dog died under their care. I would not recommend the surgery side of this practice. Read Less

Dr Bradley was great, extremely helpful and seems to be very passionate about what he does. The clinical staff also appears to be on top of things are are very caring. Then there's the front desk. HORRIBLE. The front desk does a horrible job of communicating information, first with the appointment. I was told all records would be requested from our vet and available during the appointment, it wasn't. Instead I was asked if I brought records with me, and it was totally disorganized. Then, there's the lack of communication about the invoices. Not only was I given inaccurate information but then the FD had the nerve to be rude in top of everything. They weren't apologetic or even seemed to care. An office experience always starts and ends with the FD and because of that I will never recommend this office. Read Less

I cannot thank the staff at this wonderful practice more. My dear kitten fractured his femur and we were referred to Dr. Bradley. The referring doctor spoke so highly of him, I was looking forward to seeing what all the fuss was about. The referring doctor didn't make it seem like it was an emergency, but thank God for Dr. Bradley. I called his office and a very nice receptionist, Brigitte, answered and told Dr. Bradley about my kitten and we were told to bring him in right away for a reasonably-priced, emergency surgery (which I would later learn included everything including an overnight, closely-monitored stay). Every single person I had the pleasure of encountering, including Suzanne, was very knowledgable, compassionate, patient, and thorough. She gave me a tour of the entire suite and made me feel comfortable and at-ease leaving my baby kitten there for surgery. I called the office that afternoon (surgery day) and Dr. Bradley updated me on my little kitten's surgery. The femur fracture was exactly what he had described in great detail to me at the consultation before kitty was operated on. I called that evening and spoke with another sweet nurse who told me kitty was alright and being administered IV fluids. Today is the day after surgery, and I called early this morning to speak directly with the Doctor again about kitty's condition, and he was discharged shortly thereafter. Before leaving, the entire convalescence period was explained to me thoroughly by the Doctor and the nice receptionist. I am looking forward to bringing kitty in for his post-operative exams, and I am confident that he will have a speedy and complete recovery. I am blessed to have met Dr. Bradley and his staff, and God forbid any of my pets will need surgery, but I will be bringing them to this practice. I will be referring all inquiring family members and friends to this practice! Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart, and Harry's, too. Read Less

I have had the experience of taking two different dogs to both the Hope Center and VSRP.I had a good experience at the Hope Center, and the doctors were exceptional. However, each time I entered the center for follow-up appointments that were considered necessary and part of the post surgery process, I was handing out my credit card over, and over again. At VSRP, the reception was warm and welcoming. Dr. Bradley explained everything he would do, and gave me the amount the surgery would cost, including the follow-up appointment. I was even given a tour of the facility where the surgery would take place, as well as recovery. The surgery went well, and my dog is recovering beautifully from having a large lipoma removed from an area which began to effect his gait. In fact, my furry boy gets his stiches removed on Wednesday. He's had no problems with recovery whatsoever!I want to thank this wonderful staff who made me feel at ease about leaving my most cherished companion in their capable hands.Thank you, with all of my heart! I would be giving this 5 stars if I only had to deal with Dr. Bradley. My cat had her leg amputated and Dr. Bradley was wonderful during the process and explained why we had to take this extreme action to remove her cancerous tumor on her leg and gave me time to process making the decision.  Dr. Bradley was out during the period I had to bring her back in to have her sutures removed, so I was scheduled to see Dr. Morris.  Dr. Morris NEVER came in once to talk to me.  The only person who I saw that day was the LVT.  I made an appointment with Dr. Morris, I would think I should see him if that is who I had the appointment with. Very disappointed with my last appointment.  At the time I was there I didn't think about complaining, but after I got home, I started questioning in my mind if the LVT actually discussed my concerns about my cat's recovery with him or if what she came back with what she thought, not what Dr. Morris recommendations were, since I never actually heard or saw him.  I shouldn't leave a medical place feeling uneasy about the treatment my cat received. Dr. Bradley operated on my Dachshund's herniated disc 5 years ago.  Hopefully I am not about to jinx his recovery but to date he is fine.  Christmas 2015 he broke his leg at the pet sitter while we were on vacation in Europe.  We requested VSRP instead of Hope or Leesburg.  We are so happy we made that decision.  8 weeks later after a bad break and surgery by Dr. Morris to insert a plate he is flourishing and walking very comfortably on all four legs.  We saw on the internet that many little dogs never quite get their full mobility back so we were concerned but our little dog is just fine.  Both he and I think he is ready to chase rabbits but Dr. Morris is being cautious and says another 3 weeks before he can run and resume regular activity which I really appreciate.  The staff are incredible.  The staff at Hope and Leesburg are also very good but we just feel that VSRP go the extra mile and show that they actually love animals.  I would highly recommend this practice.  Their prices are also more affordable for top notch surgery.  I felt like I was not being ripped off or being taken advantage of.  The other practices insisted on seeing our little dog and charging to look at the digital x-rays sent to them before giving us an estimate.  VSRP dis not charge or put the little dog through being transported to get an estimate.  Banfield had already taken care of him and put him on medication so all he needed was surgery.  They all came up with the same solution. Top notch surgeon, with an outstanding office staff and medical team.  Our pomeranian had luxating patellas on both back legs which our regular vet's office had been treating with glucosamine (glucosamine made our dog put on too much weight)-- but it had gotten to the point that the medications we were giving weren't enough to keep him from locking up and writhing on the floor in agony (it looked like he was having seizures each time, he would shake really hard, and drool). :(  We couldn't bear to see our little guy suffer anymore, and decided that his quality of life was not going to be tolerable unless we did something more than give him ineffective medication to help him.  We expected the operations to be very expensive-- but the actual cost was not nearly as bad as we thought it would be.  (The local vet surgical centers quoted much higher fees). The best part is that our boy was walking on each leg much sooner than we anticipated.  And his locking-up episodes (which looked like seizures), stopped immediately after surgery.  It's been a few months now, and he's like a puppy again.  Over the past couple of years, we had grown accustomed to the grumpy, tubby version of our dog-- but post-surgery, we've seen him spring back to life, and become a playful, happy little dog.  He's gotten quite bossy, and mischievous, now that he's not in pain anymore.  He's trimmed down from 12 pounds to 8 pounds just because he's so much more active nowadays.  He plays with our kids again, and he's back to stealing toys and wrestling with our Schnauzer.Dr. Bradley is an outstanding surgeon.  His price was much better than we'd been quoted in our more local area from other surgery centers.  His staff members are some of the most caring, patient, compassionate people I've ever met.  If we ever had a situation like this again, we would travel as far as we needed to see Dr. Bradley again.  I hope he never retires. Let me just start by saying Dr. Bradley and the staff that work here are incredible.  Like many people our pup is our world so i was a bit hesitant to place her in the hands of a stranger.  Upon meeting Dr. Bradley he came into the room and sat immediately on the floor with my 7 year old Boxer girl...it was at this moment that every ounce of doubt or anxiety left my body. For him and the vet tech (im sorry i forget her name but she was great too) to do that just really made me  appreciate their effort to connect with my girl. I just loved that! The vet tech let my pup kiss every inch of her face....gladly hahaha.  My pup had a tumor on one of her back toes that needed to be removed and i was a mess over this news BUT Dr. Bradley did such an amazing job at taking his time to tell me everything that he was going to do and what was to be expected.  Not once did i feel rushed or that questions werent welcomed.  i felt like i knew him for years.  When i dropped her off the day of the surgery he allowed me to walk her back and show me around.....This place is flippin' impressive!!! its super clean and i love that they have their own cubs (with walls, open ceilings and a carpet) NOT stacked metal crates as i invisioned.  After seeing this it relieved my nerves as well.  During the time she was there  I called to check in on her numerous times and if i didnt speak to the dr personally i spoke with someone who knew what was going on with her.  i chatted with the front desk woman named Linda, terrific woman, while my girl was being prepared to be checked out.  She made the comment to me "good luck getting her off of Lizzie....She may have fallen in love with ur dog." i chuckled at this and when i met Lizzie i understood what she meant.  I cant even begin to explain how amazing it felt to see how much she cared for my pup.  She walked us out to the car and gave both of us big hugs.  Im a hugger so i didnt mind it one bit.  To know that my girl had someone so wonderful looking over her while she was recovering was just awesome.  Dr. Bradley did an incredible job with our pup and we will be forever grateful.  As for the staff here thank you so very much for taking such great care of our girl. There are genuinely good hearted people working here (i almost forgot i was in northern virginia).  Even though she is missing a toe (which healed beautifully might i add) she is back to her silly self running and playin constantly!! Thanks again!! You guys are the best!!! Read Less

We've visited VSRP twice in 7 months for ACL replacements on our Lab and had a great experience with Dr. Morris and the staff on both occasions.  After seeing the negative review on here prior to going the first time, I was a bit hesitant but was reminded that we were only reading one side of a story.  We felt the staff was very nurturing and empathic to our situation and Dr. Morris was very thorough in explaining/showing us exactly what was wrong with our dog and how he was going to fix it.  For as many surgeries as this place does a year, he certainly did not make us feel like a number, but that he truly cared.  We also appreciate that he understood first-hand what we were feeling/going through since his dog had been through the same thing.  I also liked that he was the one to get on the phone with us after surgery to update us on our dog and how he was doing.  I'd recommend VSRP should the need arise; very good experience overall. We brought our greyhound to Dr. Morris for what we thought was going to be surgery for a torn ACL.  When Dr. Morris examined her, he discovered it wasn't her ACL but a tumor - osteosarcoma.  We had a couple of options, and chose to put her down so she wouldn't be in pain any longer.  Dr. Morris and his staff were incredibly caring and the news obviously bothered them.  Since she was expected to have surgery, she had not eaten since the night before.  Dr. Morris' assistant went and brought her a big bowl of food for her.  While our decision was a hard one to make, Dr. Morris gave us all the time we needed to make the decision, and told us to spend as much time with her as we needed, before and after we said goodbye to our sweet baby.  I cannot thank Dr. Morris and his staff enough for their professionalism and compassion and would  recommend this practice to anyone who needs their services. Dr. Morris performed ACL surgery on my dog and operated on the wrong leg. He had to go back in (after calling me for permission and telling me "how foolish" he felt) and perform a second surgery on her opposite hind leg so she had to be carried with a sling to go outside to relieve her bowels. It was a terrible time for her and for us as well. It was devastating and heart breaking that I had released her into the care of this hospital and to have this happen to her. It has taken me a few years to be able to sit down and calmly write a review about this and not be out of line. I just do not recommend this practice for any surgeries. I rate it Negative 5 stars He also refused to pay for the Full Rehab because he did not agree that underwater treadmill would be a good treatment for her. He paid a couple and I paid the next 12.
