If you have a bird, reptile, or furbaby that needs a good vet, then this is the place! I had a hard time finding a vet for my green cheek conure. I called many places before I came across this place. Making an appointment was a breeze and they answered all of my questions and told me the costs for everything, which is great.Not many vets can cater to other small pets, but this place does! It's a very small building, but felt welcoming. I got in, filled out paperwork, and checked my bird in. She was getting her first checkup; her wings and nails trimmed.Even though I made an appointment, I had to wait a few minutes for someone to take us back. I was worried my bird would freak out the whole time, but she was calm and didn't even fight her way or anything. It took literally 5 minutes and she was out the door.The staff was friendly, pricing was reasonable! The only place I would ever go from now on to take my pets to get a check up. Read Less

They have been very nice here I'll say that, however, I really do wish the vet I had seen was more knowledgeable on ferrets. Why even say you're able to see ferrets if you know so little about them? I came in because my ferret Ash seemed thinner, his skin was very red, he was itching all the time and his fur felt very coarse and seemed to be thinning. He seemed very different and I wanted to get to the bottom of it. I took him in and she essentially told me I was worried for nothing. Now he has lost more hair, extended belly, frequent urination, shows sexual aggression. All of the symptoms of adrenal gland disease. I took him to a different vet and he was diagnosed, but now its so late in the game I worry whether he will make it or not. He will more than likely need surgery but I'm still waiting on the blood test results. Adrenal gland disease is a VERY common ferret disease so I'm very surprised she didn't even consider this. If you have ferrets I would not recommend you bring them here, their knowledge on ferrets seems to be very lacking. Read Less

I hate this hospital they just charged me to bucks just to look at him and another 40 just to give my poor kitty an antibiotic they didn't even get to the root of the problem. Took him to Powhatan animal hospital an they actually gave me a diagnosis and put him on steroids that same day and he felt more comfortable there. It was a total waste of my 90 dollars and will never go there again. I only had to spend 40 for EVERYTHING at Powhatan animal hospital thank God for them they truly saved my cat and shame on brandermill animal hospital do better!! I do not recommend any one to take their animal to this animal hospital. Their technicians are not properly train and make you feel as if they are trying to make any type of dollar off of you. They charged us for pre lab work, claiming i was the one that circled the "i request" but i stated i did not want the pre lab work because it was extra and i knew i had a limited amount of money on me. (for the procedure and his food) While i was telling the receptionist that i should not have to pay for something i know for a fact i did not want nor did i ever circle anything for the vet never once came out to talk to me. The only thing they did was take the food off the bill and still made me pay the 400 dollars for the surgery and extra content i did not ask for. This business then told us we should go to another vet, even though we weren't planning on returning. I fell as if these people are money hungry, and they have no concern about the pets that come in there. Read Less

Our dog, Sodus, hurt his paw/leg on a Friday night and on Saturday morning it was worse. I called Brandermill Animal Hospital after calling 3 or 4 other vets that couldn't fit him in. Brandermill said they were booked but could squeeze him in between appointments. The staff was awesome! Dr Wayne was very upfront and honest and said it wouldnt be a wise use of my money to have x-rays done since it looked that it really wasn't broken, just a sprain. Never had a vet consider what would be smarter for me and my wallet as well as taking into consideration my dog. Thank you so much! This will be our permanent vet for sure :) Read Less

I started seeing the vets at Brandermill Animal Hospital after adopting one of my dogs at the Chesterfield Animal Shelter. I received a free check up visit for the puppy and have been returning ever since. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable and I am very satisfied with the care all my animals get from the vets there. Dr.Emily and Dr. Gudaitis have been so caring and helpful with my cat, aging dog and puppy and although I have yet to see Dr.Kistler I have confidence that she will be as helpful and caring to my pets as well.
