Dr. Leslie Jones (no relation!) has been my pets' vet for many years, most recently at her Woodlake Animal Hospital, but also in earlier years at another clinic. She is the epitome of professional, sensitive, and caring veterinarians, and I would be loathe to take my pets to anyone else. Now that she has her own practice in Woodlake, I have to drive 45 minutes, but her loving care of my cat, and her excellent staff, are well worth the trip! Read Less

In  response to the response given by the lying Vet. There is no call from them on Wednesday evening as they claim. There was 1 outbound call at 12:30 from me and 1 return call from some complete jackass named Chris at 2:20. Thats when they volunteered to "force feed" my sick dog. Anyone who likes can check phone records. To this date NO ONE from Woodlake has bothered to check whether Isabelle was alive or dead. These people are lying garbage. Take your beloved pets at your risk. You have been warned!! My 2 Basset Hounds have been patients at Woodlake for 2 years. All routine things. They have always been nice, a little over priced. I always deal with AAHA Vets. I have been a dog owner for several decades and understand quite well a Vet office can only be truly judged in crisis. Tuesday of the this week that crisis came to a head. I took my little girl, Isabelle to them sick and vomiting. They diagnosed her with a UTI, gave fluids and strong antibiotics. That was not the problem and she got sicker. When I called on Wednesday to state that she stopped eating completely they started with attitude. They told me I could bring her in and they would "force feed her". I of course said no! They then told me that they had no other suggestions???????On Friday I took Isabelle to Short Pump Animal Hospital. Through a sonogram we found that she had an intestinal infection that required immediate surgery. She had the surgery and is recovering this morning. Had I not made the decision to take Isabelle to Short Pump she would have died at my house this weekend. There have been NO apologies from Woodlake for nearly killing my dog. No calls from the Vet who was complicit to the attempted murder of my beloved dog. I did get a certified letter from them during the time my dog was having life or death surgery at another facility stating that they didn't like my attitude and I should find another Vet office. Everyone needs to decide for themselves how much those 4 legged friends mean. For me they are everything and I will defend them to the death. Don't let these people touch your family members. Remember I warned you. This entire incident can be documented. I am filing complaints next week with the Vet board in Virginia through my attorney. I am also contacting my media contacts to spread the word about these people. I spent several thousand dollars yesterday saving my girl. It was money well spent, I love her. Having just moved to Woodlake, I took my almost 15 year old dog to see Dr. Leslie Jones at Woodlake Animal Hospital. I was very pleased with our overall experience. The staff was friendly and clearly cared for the animals and people who came in. Dr. Jones reviewed my Westie's history with me and made some suggestions to improve his quality of life. We've taken our pets to Woodlake Animal Hospital since we moved to the area 5 years ago. They've provided great care for our two dogs and were very compassionate when our cat got extremely ill and had to be put to sleep. Have always loved Dr. Jones and she is wonderful with my girls. Started going there about 5yrs ago when I moved to the area. At that time her staff was also wonderful and id never consider going elsewhere. Why 3 stars... the current staff is horrible!! Since they have come I've had nothing but issues getting my girls in. Every time I call for refill or because she has a UTI (Gets them all the time) and to do a urinalysis I get s e hasn't been seen in 3 mo or 6 mo so you have to make an apt before we can test it or refill it. Even tho she's been there 3x since Sept for blood work they do not consider that being seen. Even when I told them to cancel my apt and id be going elsewhere they could careless and laughed. You'd think they'd treat long term clients a little better but oh well I found another vet and they got me right in last night. I had ALL records faxed to them so I will no longer be going back to Woodlake which is sad because my girls and I really liked Dr. Jones. Read Less

Woodland animal hospital is by far the best vet I have been to. They are kind and patient, with reasonable prices. I think they go above and beyond. I truly thought my dog wasn't going to make it when she had Lyme disease and they truly helped her get better. They have helped with food and diet, allergies, and her overall health. Dr. Jones and her staff are wonderful!!! They are always sure that I understand the health situation with each of my pets and are willing to answer any questions, even multiple times if needed. We began seeing Dr. Jones because she offers alternative and natural medicine. She comes at any problem from a fresh perspective. It can be quite surprising to be waiting in a exam room and see a cabinet door slowly open revealing a half asleep cat. They are all nice though and will happily come up to you and let you let them. Dr. Jones and the staff at Woodlake Animal Hospital are absolutely amazing.  Everyone is so knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and truly love what they do.  I have so much respect and trust for Dr. Jones.  I love that she incorporates traditional Western Veterinary medicine with alternative, natural, and holistic approaches for a comprehensive style of care that is incredibly effective.  My dog(furry child) is everything to me and I would never dream of taking him anywhere else.  We've been seeing Dr. Jones since I adopted him, and they have truly made us feel like part of the Woodlake Animal Hospital family.  In addition to great medical care, they host fun pet friendly events that my pup and I love.  Can't say enough great things about them and recommend them to all my friends and family who are fellow pet parents. Dr. Jones is my favorite Vet; I find her so interesting to talk to because she is incredibly intelligent and has a unique, vibrant personality. Dr. Jones patiently listens and answers all of my questions, (which are usually plenty, as I am a very curious individual-not to mention, worry wart!) while being able to calm my nerves and most importantly-my pup's! Her accompanying staff are also very caring and patient: I came in today just totally stressed and not my usual, cheerful self-but they were completely understanding and empathetic. This is a really wonderful veterinary hospital. The staff is warm and friendly, the building is clean, welcoming, and well-stocked. Dr Jones is great and advised me against doing any unnecessary lab work that would run up my bill. I have a pretty nasty 9-year-old cat that no one has ever been able to do anything with without sedation - I can't even trim her nails. The staff at Woodlake were very patient and took it slow and were able to do everything they needed to do with no sedation. I was really impressed! They called a few days later to check on her and even sent me a card welcoming me to their practice. I just moved back into the area and am very glad I found this hospital and will definitely continue to bring my pets here. Read Less

Dr. Jones was amazing to my dog and I. She was the first vet that actually listened to my concerns, who knew what Orijen was and was okay with doing a food allergy test. My other vet did not want to give me a referral for the allergy test and wanted me to put my dog on steroids and prescription food. I love that this clinic is holistic and the medicine that was prescribed has already helped my dog. Also, Dr. Jones called me herself to let me know of the test results and I really liked that. I've always liked taking my dogs to Woodlake Animal Hospital and have received good care, although their prices are on the high side. I thought the quote for having my dog spayed for $600-$800 was high, $400-$500 is more typical in my experience with other vets. We decided to proceed however because we do trust the care our animals get with Woodlake. I was disappointed to learn that when my husband went to pick our dog up, the cost of the surgery was actually $1,054!!! This is unreasonable to me, and in my opinion about twice what it actually should have been. I've voiced my disappointment and am hoping that someone will do something to rectify this situation or we will not continue to have our dogs seen at Woodlake. Read Less

Our pets love her and she always spends plenty of time on their checkups - she never rushes through a visit. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Jones. I had just moved to the area and my dog's records were all up to date - just needed heart worm pill refill. The staff was very friendly, there were 2 dogs and 2 cats that "live" at the office - I was nervous that my 10 lb dog who thinks he's 100 lbs would go crazy like he usually does around other animals but the calmness of the others made my dog very calm. I was seen promptly and Dr. Jones didn't try to push unnecessary test or medications. She was also very helpful about introducing me to pet friendly venues in the area as well as farmers markets that sell pet treats. I find it wonderful that she supports local vendors. Dr. Jones has taken excellent care of all my animals and I trust her with any and all decides regarding them. Through acupuncture she extended and improved the life of my aging Corgi until he had to be put down (which she came to the house and did). I had a terrible experience at Woodlake Animal Hospital. Dr. Jennifer Sanderson misdiagnosed my puppy with a degenerative bone disease and told me my puppy would need surgery costing between $1200 and $3200. She took an x-ray that she said confirmed the diagnosis. After going through an emotional roller coaster and returning my puppy to the breeder, we had an orthopedic vet x-ray him and determine that he had perfectly healthy hips. Dr. Sanderson is Dr. Jones associate who was filling in for her at the time of my visit. Although Dr. Jones did refund the money for the visit to Woodlake Animal Hospital and have her radiologist look at Dr. Sanderson's x-rays confirming that my puppy was disease free, she told me that she stood behind her associate. It was disconcerting to me that Dr. Jones employs and is associated with someone whose behavior falls within the category of malpractice. This reflects poorly on her in spite of the fact that she seems to be a good vet. Needless to say, I have found a new vet.Read Less

My husband and I love Dr. Jones and the staff at Woodlake Animal Hospital. I came upon Dr. Jones accidentally, while purchasing dog food from her office. We struck up a conversation about my need for the food and I was impressed enough to make an appointment for my dog. He had digestive problems for years and after one visit with Dr. Jones, those problems soon became history. I brought my pet to Dr. Jones when she was a part of another practice. He had many issues related to food allergies and she was the first to point that out. When it was time to say goodbye to our beloved Bruttuss she was so kind and helpful. When we rescued our current dog Harry I was searching for a vet who was open and supportive of holistic medicine. Imagen my surprise when we found Dr. Jones again and that she had her own practice. While my last dog LOVED going to the vet this one not so much, however Dr. Jones has been extremely patient with him and again supports our choice to go with a raw food diet and limited vaccinations. I can't begin to tell you how much my dogs love to go to the vet! My cat needed a checkup and shots today and I brought one of my two pittys with me just to visit because, if I came home with the smell of Dr. Jone's office on my person, she would give me the sad look of, "why didn't I get to go too!" I think I need to bring my other pitty for a visit because she keeps smelling my leg and looking at me saying, "do I get to go to Dr. Jones?
