Not the visit I was expecting.I visited the office Friday September 23, 2016. I am a potential new client. My cat was presented with lameness and holding one leg up. I was concern for him as he is an indoor cat. They were the only clinic that had an availability as my regular clinic was booked. I get there at 12:00pm. Waiting.. 12:30 rolls around and the receptionist asked if they could take my cat back for the exam.... okay.... so they did..... time rolls by and the receptionist comes back saying to drop off because of an emergency on the spot surgery had to be performed and would like to do radiographs on your cat..... 5:00 I get a call and the doctor calls saying they was swelling in the leg, but don't see any broken bones so I gave 2 injections......... Soooo, you gave 2 injections to my animal WITHOUT consent. You NEVER called me prior to get history on my pet of what may have happened or if he may have any potential reactions to anything. And your sending meds home. Then at that 5:00pm phonecall, I asked since I never recieved a call about these injections how much are they......... 100 BUCKS MORE!!!!!! Let me tell you I was furious with this whole situation. I'm furious typing this review. 1. Making me drop my animal off was HUGE mistake. Not a way to gain a new potential client and or trust. 2. Having a receptionist tell me what is wrong with my pet was very unprofessional. ** yes there was an emergency surgery that needed to happen, however, when the veterinary assistants are taking the pet back and prepping the animal for surgery which takes about 5-8 minutes, you could have taken me into a room and personally told me what was happening and the findings of my animal and gave me the OPTION of dropping off or rescheduling. This was a waste of time. I could have taken him to the emergency clinic to get him seen sooner. 3. ASSUMING A DIAGNOSIS IS A NO NO!!!!! Dr. Amor I believe is her name, looked at my animal, wasn't sure if it was an indoor or outdoor animal so she found that the bone was swollen so she assumes another animal got into a tussle with him so she gave an antibiotic injection and then gave a steriod injection for the inflammation. She didn't know if he was indoor or outdoor since they ignored my appointment time, she NEVER called me to get information and just treated my animal WITHOUT MY CONSENT. I only authorized an EXAM AND RADS. -- So when pick up came around, I wasn't too happy. I told the veterinarian my unhappiness, she kept making the excuse of the emergency that came in, of the emergency that came in.... well, it's a veterinary clinic, you will have emergencies that will happen. You have to maintain composure as a veterinarian and MULTI-TASK!!! If you can't handle it, you shouldn't be a veterinarian. She sounded flustered about it and looked it as well. However, as soon as I asked for the copy of todays chart and that I will not be returning, she couldn't rush me out of there fast enough. I am also positive that she never examined him. When receiving the notes about the appointment, I wrote that he was being treated with capstar and Advantage.... However, in her noted she pointed that previous statement with her notes stating 'no fleas present'.... REALLY?!?! This pet was INFESTED WITH FLEAS!!! Scabs were present below the ears, on his pinna, on his head, you could FEEL the flea dirt and if she flea combed him, they would be present. ( he is a black long-haired cat) So, what really happened in the back? So, examining my pet at your clinic and NOT calling me after your findings was UNPROFESSIONAL. Treating my animal without my consent is WRONG and UNPROFESSIONAL. This vet, which she admitted during pick up, is that she should have asked/called me if I would have liked to reschedule. She should have called me after the findings to get more information about my cat because my cat doesn't rough house with any other pets so him being bitten is super unlikely. What she admitted was she wanted to 'cover her basis' since she didn't call me to get information. She gave an abx injection thinking he was bite and a steriod to clam the 'swelling' down. So I had to pay for YOUR basis?? No no no..I question her competency, since I forward the x-rays to another LVT and DVM and there was no indication of swelling.... which now I find strange because during pick up... she NEVER at any point showed me the xrays... David, Dave whatever his name is... receptionist... rude.. When the doctor transferred me to him to get a price on the medications and said it was 100 bucks more, I questioned him on his policy on authorizations and he got short and didn't explain jack squat. THEN, he had the audacity to have me pay my bill before I talk to the VET!!!!! NOOO I'm talking to her and ACTUALLY MEETING THIS DOCTOR before I give you any of my money.. I'm disappointed.
