West Animal Clinic

Norfolk, Virginia
General Info
West Animal Clinic is a Norfolk-based veterinary service provider that focuses on delivering specialized services to animal owners throughout Virginia. Typically, healthcare appointments will begin with a comprehensive examination of recent changes in behaviour, appetite, or mobility. The clinic performs routine vaccinations, dental cleanings, wellness exams, and other diagnostic screenings. It also assesses emergencies such as injury, swelling and blockages, or gastrointestinal issues. Based on the initial research, the team might recommend conducting blood work or urinalysis or imaging studies. A variety of medical services such as allergy, surgery consultation, and geriatric care are offered. Pet owners receive comprehensive timelines of the prescribed care, from short-term medication to long-term rehabilitation milestones. Veterinary clinics make procedural changes in response to the health problems triggered by the constant pressure such as arthritis, skin diseases and metabolic issues. Pet owners from the nearby cities and rural areas around Norfolk travel to learn more about their pets’ changing needs throughout time. Families that have multiple pets and need to return for monitoring after procedures benefit from the clinics’ attention to follow-up processes and timelines (Reed, 2015). Care recommendations take shape based on climate conditions, breed tendencies, prior test results, and household setups. West Animal Clinic ensures that every pet owner leaves the clinic with a coherent plan to implement daily at home in Norfolk. The practice lowers stress levels in both pets and owners while improving health outcomes across all seasons. Some of the services provided by West Animal Clinic include Reptile Care and Vaccinations. This variety enables the pet owners in Norfolk and nearby environs to obtain all services ranging from basic checkups to intricate veterinary procedures. By offering these services, the clinic maintains its trusted reputation among Norfolk pet owners.

The staff at the front desk are very rude and unpleasant. Dr. West likes to charge for things my pet didn't need and didn't ask me if it was alright or if I wanted that service. His assistant is very rude and condescendingly yelled at us for using potty pads to train our puppy. Then went even further tried to train our new puppy in front of us when we hadn't even had the chance to yet. That was appalling. Honestly she is just annoying as can be with her 'good sit' line. Every time I went there I just wanted to cancel and go to a better vet office that is friendly kind and honest. I finally have and it was the best decision we have made for our pet thus far. Don't order fecal analysis because they forget to give you cups. Read Less

Took my cats here and I was told that usually they immediately sedate calicos because they have a bad temperament.... Was charged for two fecal analyses that I never received cups for much less the analysis.. they did not want to refund me but eventually did after I hung around their "busy" office long enough... All that was annoying but to top it off my cats were both treated for ear mites and one of them for a yeast infection in her ear. I received two medications and completed the application process per the instructions.... Both of my cats still have ear mites when only one had them initially!!!! I paid almost $500 to treat my kittens and received no results... I'm a broke college kid who is now even more broke and I still have to take my cats back to the vet for everything I took them to this vet for -- I wish you all better luck with your fur babies than I had here!
