General Info
Chesdin Animal Hospital was established in 1984 by Dr. Richard A. Grenoble and his wife, Sharon. The practice had its humble beginnings in a wing of a farmhouse that was converted into a small but efficient animal hospital. As the practice grew, it became obvious that the time was right to build a facility to accommodate our growing staff and allow more space to do what we love best, help sick and injured animals, as well as to keep them healthy and happy. We moved to our present location in the spring of 1992.
Chesdin Animal Hospital is “full service”, and offers medical and surgical expertise, disease prevention, dental procedures, and many other services including grooming and boarding.
We are very proud of our staff, who are all dedicated animal lovers. They demonstrate their compassion and skills for our patients every day and strive to make our pet owners comfortable and informed about their pet’s treatment and progress.

We had a very bad experience with the grooming services onsite. Since our dogs had been treated here we thought we could trust that grooming services would be safe, good quality. Not so. Our dog was stressed, but evidently the groomer kept working with him. The groomer called me on the phone to pick him up and was completely rude. She even told me that my dog liked sitting in his own waste. When I arrived at the vets office my dog was a botched-up mess from head to toe. They charged me full price. No one from the vet side of the office would discuss the problem with me. They accepted no responsibility. I was visibly upset and near tears when I picked my dog up. I was upset that my dog had a very traumatic experience and even more upset that no one accepted responsibility. I paid my Bill in full and left. Recently, when I was out of town, my husband requested a refill on routine meds for one our dogs. The office sent back a text message that they could not service any needs under my contract because of my behavior problems. Unbelievable. Do not trust this vets office. Please also note, my dog had some sort of trauma to his throat area during the attempted grooming. He had difficulty eating/drinking for days. I know dog grooming can be risky.....I thought I could trust because it was our vets office. They are not professional or trustworthy.

had a dog was seen by Dr. Grenoble he went out of town for 6 wks in aug in middle of her care was told by Dr Grenoble that Dr Wolfe would take care of her while he was gone called up there and nope couldn't get in was left high and dry with her had to go to blackstone which I Iove but that wasn't the only time they also left a dog half treated after a surgery and had to go get that redone by another vet as well due to the poor job done on ear also had all my paperwork mixed up on my dogs. kind of glad I'm with this new vet care is amazing and thorough my dogs love them last dog that went to chesdine I got a call he was being aggressive which he has never been towards anyone ever even loves his new vet

Best Vet around. Prices are affordable. The Doctors, Nurses, and Techs are attentive, caring, helpful, and loving to my animals. I have 4 pups they care for and one cat and I can take all at once without being broke but have excellent care. From shots to teeth cleaning. Love the walkin hours, scheduling for teeth cleaning can be a wait but its do worth it bc they believe in saving the dogs teeth than pulling it possible! As far as ppl giving the ladies a the front desk bad reviews, they are sweethearts, they deal with hectic, upset, and grieving parents in person and over the phone they cant be happy 24/7 but they are not rude. When they are not busy, and usually they are, they do take time to talk to you and care personally. I think they do a great job for as busy as they are, charting, scheduling, inputting, welcoming etc. The entire place is clean and great inside and out. They see all type of animals from dogs to cats to pigs.... they have a heart but they are not a loan place just to let you know. It's a small family business and been that way for years and years! They are not sell out!!!! This is my opinion, bc my animals have been treated like king and queens by them they will go nowhere else ever ..... thanks.

Great people who really care about their patients. Wish they had doctor with avian experience but they are able to help with nail, beak and feather trims. I use them for routine checks and trims for my parrots and their fees are very reasonable. Friendly and helpful staff.

Our darling little Etto was so sick when we rushed him in on a Monday. Immediately he was brought back and evaluated and it was determined he was going into renal failure at only 17 months old. Our little man had a team of doctors and nurses tending to him to save his life. 4 days later he's home on a special diet and medicine, he's nearly back to 100% and I could never thank them enough for what they did for him. No one was ever giving up on him and they didn't charge that much. It was very reasonable pricing, they understand people have budgets. We'll never go anywhere else

Our little Etto was honestly hours from death due to renal failure, but these wonderful doctors and their staff never gave up on him. He was admitted to their animal hospital and their team got right to work, 4 days later he's home (under observation) but doing so well. They understand that what some call "just a pet" is your child we had a great experience we can never thank them enough for saving our little guys life. Even after all they had to do plus Ettos meds and special food it still cost less then I thought it ever would. If you are in need of a vet just stop in and see what a wonderful welcoming team they have there. You won't regret it.

Grooming including sedation if needed is also available. I highly recommend their grooming services as well as medical, the grooming woman is very gentle and does a great job.

If they had a minus button, I would use it....I rescued two dogs in the county where I live about 5 months ago....one was a husky weighting 28# and the other a mix that was also skinny, heat worm, Arlichia and Lymes positive...i laid full price to have these dogs treated....both were headed to NJ to forever homes...Dr. Ricky would not spay one of the dogs due to all the sickness but we made arrangements to have the dog brought back to him in a few months for the spay....once his mother found out, she said NO he will not do it on a Saturday, he doesn't own the business and he does not make the decisions...i called her cell to explain the situation and that these arrangement were made months ago...she screamed at me and said " I don't care if u think I'm a money hungry bitch, it's a.business and yes it's about the money first....i hung up and picked up all of my dogs records immediately...the following nite I get a telephone call from the local Sheriffs office that she doesn't want me back on her property.DO NOT USE THIS VET....THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORD AND THEY ARE EXTREMELY OVER PRICED....DO NOT GO TO CHESDIN ANIMAL HOSPITAL....TRY VET EXPRESD IN COL HGTS...VERY REASONABLE AND DOESN'T PUSH DOG DRUGS AND CONSTANT TESTING!!!!

I boarded my 90 lb lab dutch there for 3 nights do NOT take your dog there he came back with diarrhea towing up and they had not only kept his blanket with him they did not give him his treats I brought 6 gave him 1 when I left and 5 were still in the bag, I was told he did not show interest in his treats and they took them away, that is a lie bc I carefully wrapped his treats and when I showed up they were in the EXACT same manner they never even opened them plus his blanket still downy fresh they took it from him and it was laying on top of the bin. Don't take your dog here they are liers and your pet as well as mine deserve better.

I took my dog because she had a rash about a year ago and nothing was done to resolve the problem. I took her again for a broken leg and she was not taken care of properly. The cast was not put on in a way that would heal it and she developed an infection. Defianitly will not be back.

I took my kitten to this ckinic, and paid $64 to be told my cat had fleas and a possible hairball, simply because she had no fever and was purring! Meanwhile my cat is still sick, and won't eat! I was told by more than one person she may have worms, and I mentioned this to the lunkhead who examined her, and he made no mention of worms, nor did he treat her for them. My roommate's mother's cat was seen there years ago, and same thing happened. Vet said cat was fine, and it died. I will never go back, and will be asking about disputing with my bank.

I took my doggy in for a check up and the Dr didn't have the audacity to call my baby by her name. He forcefully muzzled her and when he was done he said to her "move dog" because she was in his way. I will never take any of my animals back there again and neither are any members of my family. We can go elsewhere where our babies will be treated decently.

I took my almost 6 month old puppy in because he was shaking, drooling, limping, and very lethargic to be told he had a sprain and worms. Dr.Granoble told me he looks like he has parvo and they tested for that even though insisted it was not. Too much money and a 15 minute chat he barley even examined my baby, we were sent home with dewormer and no treatment for his "sprain". Two days later I had a wonderful vet come to my home and spend 45 minutes examining my baby to tell me he was snake bitten. I will never give chesdin another dime and wouldn't ever tell anyone to take their pet there.

I have used and still use their grooming services for my standard poodle and Ms. Jenna has always done a exception job even after I have taken a go at the groom myself and messed it up.

I took my dog to have his long hair cut for the summer. My siberian husky came out looking like a poodle, his entire body shaved, and his head and tail untouched. He was whimpering in the corner, and obviously embarrassed. I had to fix the hair cut, and will never go back to that place. I found their pricing also high, and they will find something to treat.

Our darling little Etto was so sick when we rushed him in on a Monday. Immediately he was brought back and evaluated and it was determined he was going into renal failure at only 17 months old. Our little man had a team of doctors and nurses tending to him to save his life. 4 days later he's home on a special diet and medicine, he's nearly back to 100% and I could never thank them enough for what they did for him. No one was ever giving up on him and they didn't charge that much. It was very reasonable pricing, they understand people have budgets. We'll never go anywhere else

Dr. Grenoble is wonderful and his staff is caring as well as competent. I trust this vet completely and would recommend them to any who love their pets.

He was admitted to their animal hospital and their team got right to work, 4 days later he's home (under observation) but doing so well. They understand that what some call "just a pet" is your child we had a great experience we can never thank them enough for saving our little guys life. Even after all they had to do plus Ettos meds and special food it still cost less then I thought it ever would. If you are in need of a vet just stop in and see what a wonderful welcoming team they have there. You won't regret it.

If they had a minus button, I would use it....I rescued two dogs in the county where I live about 5 months ago....one was a husky weighting 28# and the other a mix that was also skinny, heat worm, Arlichia and Lymes positive...i laid full price to have these dogs treated....both were headed to NJ to forever homes...Dr. Ricky would not spay one of the dogs due to all the sickness but we made arrangements to have the dog brought back to him in a few months for the spay....once his mother found out, she said NO he will not do it on a Saturday, he doesn't own the business and he does not make the decisions...i called her cell to explain the situation and that these arrangement were made months ago...she screamed at me and said " I don't care if u think I'm a money hungry bitch, it's a.business and yes it's about the money first....i hung up and picked up all of my dogs records immediately...the following nite I get a telephone call from the local Sheriffs office that she doesn't want me back on her property.DO NOT USE THIS VET....THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORD AND THEY ARE EXTREMELY OVER PRICED....DO NOT GO TO CHESDIN ANIMAL HOSPITAL....TRY VET EXPRESD IN COL HGTS...VERY REASONABLE AND DOESN'T PUSH DOG DRUGS AND CONSTANT TESTING!!!!

I boarded my 90 lb lab dutch there for 3 nights do NOT take your dog there he came back with diarrhea towing up and they had not only kept his blanket with him they did not give him his treats I brought 6 gave him 1 when I left and 5 were still in the bag, I was told he did not show interest in his treats and they took them away, that is a lie bc I carefully wrapped his treats and when I showed up they were in the EXACT same manner they never even opened them plus his blanket still downy fresh they took it from him and it was laying on top of the bin. Don't take your dog here they are liers and your pet as well as mine deserve better.

I took my dog because she had a rash about a year ago and nothing was done to resolve the problem. I took her again for a broken leg and she was not taken care of properly. The cast was not put on in a way that would heal it and she developed an infection. Defianitly will not be back.

I was told by more than one person she may have worms, and I mentioned this to the lunkhead who examined her, and he made no mention of worms, nor did he treat her for them. My roommate's mother's cat was seen there years ago, and same thing happened. Vet said cat was fine, and it died. I will never go back, and will be asking about disputing with my bank.

I took my doggy in for a check up and the Dr didn't have the audacity to call my baby by her name. He forcefully muzzled her and when he was done he said to her "move dog" because she was in his way. I will never take any of my animals back there again and neither are any members of my family. We can go elsewhere where our babies will be treated decently.

Dr.Granoble told me he looks like he has parvo and they tested for that even though insisted it was not. Too much money and a 15 minute chat he barley even examined my baby, we were sent home with dewormer and no treatment for his "sprain". Two days later I had a wonderful vet come to my home and spend 45 minutes examining my baby to tell me he was snake bitten. I will never give chesdin another dime and wouldn't ever tell anyone to take their pet there.

I have used and still use their grooming services for my standard poodle and Ms. Jenna has always done a exception job even after I have taken a go at the groom myself and messed it up.

I took my dog to have his long hair cut for the summer. My siberian husky came out looking like a poodle, his entire body shaved, and his head and tail untouched. He was whimpering in the corner, and obviously embarrassed. I had to fix the hair cut, and will never go back to that place. I found their pricing also high, and they will find something to treat.
