Yet, I still paid $66.00 which included having my puppy stool checked for worms. We will continue shopping for a vet that is more knowledgeable.

Dr. Wright is a wonderful Vet. She took such wonderful care of our cat after a cancer diagnosis. She removed quite a few growths and greatly prolonged the cats life.

Not a good experience at all! They forced me to put a muzzle on my golden retriever and said the only way they could clip his nails was if he was sedated!! Wow! I didn't think nail clipping was that serious especially when he never had an issue at his previous vet smh They even labeled him aggressive because he tried to take the muzzle off smh he clearly was uncomfortable since he has never worn one before (shocked face!) Great job on the first impression!!

Through out the years I have brought my pets to Crater Road Veterinary Hospital. The staff is friendly and down to earth. They really care about and most of all like the animals they take care of. Unlike some places you may go, they do not try to sell you anything additional that you do not need when you get there and there are no hidden charges. The prices are very affordable as well. Today I give them extra points for being open on a snowy day in March when most places are closed.

So the front desk/ waiting area can get a little confusing as it's sometimes difficult to tell who's taking care of you, where you're supposed to go next, etc, but the front desk staff is very friendly and patiently assist.Their prices are very fair and they truly care about the patients. I've had a kitten neutered here, and they called a few days later just to check in on how he was doing. They also told me about how sweet my kitten was, how he was loving the attention the staff was giving him, etc. I've never experienced that level of care at any other clinic. I found a stray with an injured leg, so I brought him in to see if he was microchipped to return him to his owner once we got his leg healed. The vet truly cared about him and patiently accommodated all of my requests. She treated him and sent us home with a two week course of antibiotics, and he was completely healed within a week. They hardly charged me for taking him in; they understood that he was a rescued stray and wanted to truly help.

I went here after adopting a puppy at the Petersburg Animal Shelter in 2013, which turned out to be a nightmare in itself, stay away from that place...but anyway, the way they treated my baby was terrible. He turned out to have parvo, the shelter we got him from knew that....he had kennel cough too. I understand how contagious and fatal it is....but the way they had me carry him out and stay in the car was terrible! They also used an instrument up his rectum and the stuff got all over me. I only went here because it was free, but never again!

they seemed really nice until there waa a issue with my payment (which was a pitbull organization paid for my dogs spay) and then they acted like we were complete garbage. we waited an hour just for someone to work it out (i ended up having to call the president of the rescue on her cell phone) and in that time span they wouldn't give me my dog plus when they gave me my total which was wrong they said it was 30 dollars over what they ended up charging me and the owner of the rescue center and noone could tell me why? seems kind of sketch. The upside for this place is they did call and let me know my baby had come out of surgery okay which i was super worried about since my dogs are my children and im guessing the surgery went well because she is healing just fine.

When I lost my tabbies certificate, e staff was very polite and helped me locate the original in the book AND even went as far as to fax a copy to my vet. It helped me save $. I appreciate that! I would recommend this office to someone looking for a good vet, that doesn't have one already.

My parents used Crater Road when I was very young and now that I'm grown I still go to them. I can't say enough good about the vets there they give me no more than I ask for and understand when I say I'm an old school mom exactly what I mean. We had to visit today due to our lab having a seizure........thank goodness all test came back negative and we just have to now monitor how often they happen. They were so quick to work us in and get us in and out. Sugir and family greatly appreciate all of their help :)

By far THE BEST ear crop I have ever seen!!! Believe me, you get what you pay for! I have two American Staffordshire Terriers and I have had both of their ear crops done here. They look ABSOLUTELY amazing!! I searched for places that did ear crops in VA and this one was my pick and I'm so happy I chose them! My dogs also get vaccinations done at this vet because their prices are very low compared to up north vet prices. It is an hour and a half drive just for me to get there but that drive is worth it for great results and great people! The staff there are very hard working and busy but they do a great job assisting and answering all questions I have. Thank you to everyone at the office for a wonderful experience!

My mom and I have used Crater Road Vet for years! We have had many cats and dogs. We usually always see Dr. Kinney, and she is so nice and caring. She takes her time to listen and explain! Appointment times are usually on time, except when there is an emergency situation. Staff is also nice and understanding. I read a review stating that the staff has little expression and was not very welcoming. After all the years I have used them, I have never experienced that. I will say that they are always very busy, and when you are so busy, it's got to be hard to always smile and welcome EVERYONE! Waiting areas are spacious and decorated well. Your fur babies will be treated well at CRV.

This is my first time using this vet and I cannot say I was greeted with friendly smiles. The young lady at the desk was very neutral with little expression or welcome. The lobby is very nice, decorated well and quite spacious. At this point my appointment is now 10 minutes late. The kids are seeing Dr. Wright. Okay, they got me in within 10 minutes of my appointment. Pretty nice! Dr. Wright was incredibly refreshing. She was great with the dogs and agreed with many of my opinions concerning inoculations. I will use her again.

I was just really surprised how rude the front desk people were. If you didn't know exactly how their office worked you were a complete idiot.

Absolutely LOVE this place! Everyone that works here is so AMAZING!! They always are so nice, friendly, informative & answer all my questions no matter how crazy it may sound. Took my new puppy in for an initial visit. The vet rubbed my puppy head and listened to his heart sounds. She didn't answer any of my questions. I learned more via google than I did from her. Yet, I still paid $66.00 which included having my puppy stool checked for worms. We will continue shopping for a vet that is more knowledgeable.

Dr. Wright is a wonderful Vet. She took such wonderful care of our cat after a cancer diagnosis. She removed quite a few growths and greatly prolonged the cats life.

Not a good experience at all! They forced me to put a muzzle on my golden retriever and said the only way they could clip his nails was if he was sedated!! Wow! I didn't think nail clipping was that serious especially when he never had an issue at his previous vet smh They even labeled him aggressive because he tried to take the muzzle off smh he clearly was uncomfortable since he has never worn one before (shocked face!) Great job on the first impression!!

Guess they forgot why they got into this business to begin with. Deplorable customer service! The owner of this place ought to be ASHAMED of themselves! Also don't appreciate the way the owner talked to my daughter.
Update: Your comment made absolutely NO sense, but my review is indeed correct....lying doesn't change what happened.

Able to get in for a visit relatively quickly, staff receptive to suggestions, and answer questions willingly. Bot overly expensive for vet care.

Through out the years I have brought my pets to Crater Road Veterinary Hospital. The staff is friendly and down to earth. They really care about and most of all like the animals they take care of. Unlike some places you may go, they do not try to sell you anything additional that you do not need when you get there and there are no hidden charges. The prices are very affordable as well. Today I give them extra points for being open on a snowy day in March when most places are closed.

So the front desk/ waiting area can get a little confusing as it's sometimes difficult to tell who's taking care of you, where you're supposed to go next, etc, but the front desk staff is very friendl...
So the front desk/ waiting area can get a little confusing as it's sometimes difficult to tell who's taking care of you, where you're supposed to go next, etc, but the front desk staff is very friendly and patiently assist.Their prices are very fair and they truly care about the patients. I've had a kitten neutered here, and they called a few days later just to check in on how he was doing. They also told me about how sweet my kitten was, how he was loving the attention the staff was giving him, etc. I've never experienced that level of care at any other clinic. I found a stray with an injured leg, so I brought him in to see if he was microchipped to return him to his owner once we got his leg healed. The vet truly cared about him and patiently accommodated all of my requests. She treated him and sent us home with a two week course of antibiotics, and he was completely healed within a week. They hardly charged me for taking him in; they understood that he was a rescued stray and wanted to truly help.

I went here after adopting a puppy at the Petersburg Animal Shelter in 2013, which turned out to be a nightmare in itself, stay away from that place...but anyway, the way they treated my baby was terrible. He turned out to have parvo, the shelter we got him from knew that....he had kennel cough too. I understand how contagious and fatal it is....but the way they had me carry him out and stay in the car was terrible! They also used an instrument up his rectum and the stuff got all over me. I only went here because it was free, but never again!

they seemed really nice until there waa a issue with my payment (which was a pitbull organization paid for my dogs spay) and then they acted like we were complete garbage. we waited an hour just for someone to work it out (i ended up having to call the president of the rescue on her cell phone) and in that time span they wouldn't give me my dog plus when they gave me my total which was wrong they said it was 30 dollars over what they ended up charging me and the owner of the rescue center and noone could tell me why? seems kind of sketch. The upside for this place is they did call and let me know my baby had come out of surgery okay which i was super worried about since my dogs are my children and im guessing the surgery went well because she is healing just fine.

I haven't personally taken my pets here BC I have a vet I like. This begging said however, I have used this veterinary office for a tabbies clinic. The staff was very friendly at the site I went to. When I lost my tabbies certificate, e staff was very polite and helped me locate the original in the book AND even went as far as to fax a copy to my vet. It helped me save $. I appreciate that! I would recommend this office to someone looking for a good vet, that doesn't have one already.

My parents used Crater Road when I was very young and now that I'm grown I still go to them. I can't say enough good about the vets there they give me no more than I ask for and understand when I say I'm an old school mom exactly what I mean. We had to visit today due to our lab having a seizure........thank goodness all test came back negative and we just have to now monitor how often they happen. They were so quick to work us in and get us in and out. Sugir and family greatly appreciate all of their help :)

By far THE BEST ear crop I have ever seen!!! Believe me, you get what you pay for! I have two American Staffordshire Terriers and I have had both of their ear crops done here. They look ABSOLUTELY amazing!! I searched for places that did ear crops in VA and this one was my pick and I'm so happy I chose them! My dogs also get vaccinations done at this vet because their prices are very low compared to up north vet prices. It is an hour and a half drive just for me to get there but that drive is worth it for great results and great people! The staff there are very hard working and busy but they do a great job assisting and answering all questions I have. Thank you to everyone at the office for a wonderful experience!

My mom and I have used Crater Road Vet for years! We have had many cats and dogs. We usually always see Dr. Kinney, and she is so nice and caring. She takes her time to listen and explain! Appointment times are usually on time, except when there is an emergency situation. Staff is also nice and understanding. I read a review stating that the staff has little expression and was not very welcoming. After all the years I have used them, I have never experienced that. I will say that they are always very busy, and when you are so busy, it's got to be hard to always smile and welcome EVERYONE! Waiting areas are spacious and decorated well. Your fur babies will be treated well at CRV.

I love this Veterinary Hospital. I used to take my animals elsewhere; once I brought my dog to Dr. Webb for an emergency my vet could not diagnose, and she solved the problem in one visit, I was hooked. And the girls at the front desk have always been nice and helpful to me in person and on the phone! All of the Vets are great, there are several, so NEVER a problem getting an appointment either.

This is my first time using this vet and I cannot say I was greeted with friendly smiles. The young lady at the desk was very neutral with little expression or welcome. The lobby is very nice, decorated well and quite spacious. At this point my appointment is now 10 minutes late. The kids are seeing Dr. Wright. Okay, they got me in within 10 minutes of my appointment. Pretty nice! Dr. Wright was incredibly refreshing. She was great with the dogs and agreed with many of my opinions concerning inoculations. I will use her again.

In response to the review that had to pay $200 for grooming...I have NEVER had to pay that much! I take my dog there and pay $45 each time, maybe $5 more if she's matted.

The receptionists/vet assistants are very rude and patronizing. Then the vet wow, speaks to you and your animal like you are a baby...using baby talk?? Its so strange. I was just really surprised how rude the front desk people were. If you didn't know exactly how their office worked you were a complete idiot.

I felt very comfortable taking our first family pet there. I do recommend this place. It is so much better than Banfield which is a bad place to take your pet. Thank you Crater Road Veterinary.

Their prices are much cheaper than the Col. Hgts vet and much more caring towards the animals. This vet is not all about gaining revenue but in it to care for the animals they see.
