I read so many reviews before deciding to take our dog and cat here. The staff is very nice. Communication can occur via text, the web, or phone. The vets seem competent. I like one of them better than the other. Both of our animals have had checkups and shots here. Our cat has had some health issues and has to be sedated for tests. She is not a fan of the vet anymore. The frustration is that we put her through all that to be told it was inconclusive with one vet leaving more toward behavioral issues (we just moved) and the other more toward medical (metabolic). We’ve made some changes in our home environment but they’re requiring additional testing before asking us to implement diet or medication. I hate the long delay and putting the cat through testing again, especially if we get inconclusive results again. I get this is how medicine can be but we have shelled out A LOT of money to have no answers. The products they offer on the shelves in the waiting room are also very overpriced so check online before you buy. Despite all this, our dog loves the vet and we were pleased with the way his grooming turned it. It did take much longer than estimated though. Warning: Saturday mornings can be chaotic (we took our dog for grooming).

I would highly recommend this place to any one boarding their furbaby! The staff is very warm and inviting, so you'll know you're leaving you pet in good hands. I boarded my cat with them and she was taken well care of and very happy. You can just tell when walking in that they care about their clients. If you want no worries about your furbabies definitely choose them.

The people here are so nice, and it's obvious they care about their clients, whether that be human or pet! My cat is notorious for being aggressive with anyone but me, so I was surprised to see that she quickly took to two of the nurses there while she was boarding. Thanks to VCA, I was able to rest assured knowing my cat wasn't going to be stressed out during her visit!

Excellent place! My dog is extremely hyper and instead of getting annoyed with him, they play with him and love him like their own. I board with them monthly and my dog gets so happy when he sees that we’re pulling up to the office! They have payment plans and are willing to work with prices with you if you’re patient. I love all the ladies here.

I absolutely love this animal hospital! The care given to my cats is exceptional! The whole entire staff is friendly, and they always let me know exactly what I need to do for the best care of my fur children. They are very upfront about any costs involved and always work with me. I would highly recommend taking your pets to this facility.

I love coming to this vet clinic. I drive 30 min and pay a toll just to bring my dog to Dr. Hubbard and her staff. Her and her staff are very caring, friendly, and compassionate. If I ever have a scare with my dog they have always found a way to squeeze him in to be seen. Honestly, my dog even feels safe enough with Dr. Hubbard that he falls asleep on the table after she evaluated him and lets me know what she notices and ways I can help my dog. The whole staff is friendly and caring towards my dog. The staff even takes the time to call me several days after a sick visit to ask how my dog is doing and if he has improved. I love this clinic and will continue to bring my 4 legged baby to see them and make sure he lives a long and happy life with great veterinary care.

I have been using this vet for about 3 years now for both of my dogs. My older dog Daisy has severe seperation anxiety and the staff has always seemed very concerned about making her comfortable. We recently got a puppy and she has received exceptional care at this office. She was very sick when we brought her home from the breeder and the doctors and staff here helped her get better. I was at the vet every week with her and they were always concerned. Not to mention they call me after every appointment to make sure my dogs are doing great. These ladies are awesome. Every vet is pricey but unless you go to a "low cost clinic" you are going to pay big vet prices. It's worth every penny spent at VCA to make sure my girls are happy and healthy. Thank You VCA!

Today was one of the most painful days in my life. VAC showed compassion and care that was beyond belief. They made losing a part of my family hurt just a little less painful. If I ever have another pet, I will make this their medical care provider.

My fiance and I have boarded our weim/lab mix, Millie, twice now at this location and received the best service and care for our fur baby. This second time was exceptional! We chose to have our dog's nails clipped while we were away, and once home, we realized Millie also received a quick groom which is really helping keep her cool these summer days. Furthermore, some sweet staff member stitched up one of Millie's toys that had ripped during her stay.
We've had great experiences in boarding, grooming, and getting our heartworm meds at VCA in Portsmouth.

then go here! This place overcharges for everything! I have never had to pay more than $15 to get my dog's toenails trimmed, and this place charged me $30. Every time I go here for basic care for my dog, such as vaccinations, they try to guilt me into getting all these extras that really aren't necessary and then put me on yet another guilt trip because I don't have $550 to drop on a tooth cleaning for my dog. I took him in to get 1 vaccination required for boarding and wound up walking out with a $230 bill. Every time I speak to them on the phone they speak to me as if speaking to a small child who understands only a few words of English, and then I got lectured from the obese veterinarian about how my dog was slightly overweight. I also got lectured about how I really should trim his toenails myself and was shown how to do it...there is a reason I take him to get that done...I don't feel comfortable doing it myself.
I understand that it is a business out to make money, but in my experience, most vets understand when you can't afford to pay ridiculous amounts of money for an animal, especially in the current economy and the Christmas season. I will not be going back there.

I have been using this vet for about 3 years now for both of my dogs. My older dog Daisy has severe seperation anxiety and the staff has always seemed very concerned about making her comfortable. We recently got a puppy and she has received exceptional care at this office. She was very sick when we brought her home from the breeder and the doctors and staff here helped her get better. I was at the vet every week with her and they were always concerned. Not to mention they call me after every appointment to make sure my dogs are doing great. These ladies are awesome. Today was one of the most painful days in my life. VAC showed compassion and care that was beyond belief. They made losing a part of my family hurt just a little less painful. If I ever have another pet, I will make this their medical care provider.
