Love the Feline Medical Center.  My cat Checkers needed a special surgery to create a larger urethra so he could pass stones more easily.   He had already undergone two bladder washout surgeries before being referred to Dr. Burke.   Dr. Burke was great, did the surgery and Checkers lived until he was 17 years old.    Living in Chesterfield County, I didn't take my cats here for regular care but I can say for specialty care they were wonderful.   Entire staff and Dr. Burke. Our last vet was wonderful and set the bar very high. Unfortunately she passed awayand we've been searching for another vet since. (This vet will NOT be our new vet)I brought my cat in because of an issue with one of his dew claws (it was very sensitive and oozing) and to get his vaccinations (rabies and distemper) up to date. I don't know why it took the doctor so long to make it into the examination room, besides the very nice receptionist my husband and I were the only other people there and we waited 10 minutes for the doctor to come in. When the doctor finally came in  he examined my cat roughly.  He grabbed my cats head and forced his head side to side, checked his teeth and mentioned that his teeth needed a lot of work and multiple extractions.  I had to remind him about the dew claw and the vaccinations. He said he wouldn't be able to examine the claw or do anything about it while my cat was awake. He said he could take care of the dental work and check the claw while he was sedated.  I said I wanted to think about it but I still wanted to have the vaccinations taken care of. The doctor left the room "to prepare the shot" and it seemed to take forever for him to come back. When he finally did come back he only had the rabies vaccine. I had to remind him that I wanted distemper and rabies. The receptionist asked when I wanted to bring my cat in for the dental work but I had already decided that I would not be returning to this vet so I told her I'd think about it. The receptionist was very friendly but not friendly enough to make up for the rough vet.  * I ended up taking my cat to Taylor Locke the next day, they were able to examine the dew claw without sedation and without a struggle. I also had my cats teeth cleaned and they were not as bad as "Dr" Burke said they were. I don't suggest this vet at all. Read Less
