We have been going to FCAH for several years, but one the last couple week they have really impressed us. One of our dogs had TTA surgery and developed serious complications. They worked diligently and quickly to help our boy. Drogo had to go to VA Tech for further treatment and both Dr. Krauss stayed in constant contact with us and Va Tech to keep check on his progress and to work with us on the after care. Dr Mcbain with Dr. Krauss made the call to go to Tech. She made us feel that she genuinely care about his case and was truly empathetic to the circumstances. Like many of you, our dogs are like our kids. Along with his professional and accommodating staff, I would trust no other vet with the care of our furry children.

I always liked the people at the FCAH and thought our pets were getting good care, but our last two cats died under what we considered to be rather suspicious circumstances. I understand it must be difficult to diagnose when your patient can't tell you where it hurts, but both were misdiagnosed and ended up having to be put to sleep unexpectedly because they went downhill very quickly when they didn't receive appropriate care.

This office has been wonderful to us and our stubborn Dane. We are new to Virginia and having a Dane with seperation anxiety requires a good vet. We have found the people here to be very compassionate and they are always willing to work with our boy. They understand his needs and are always willing to try new things. Their costs are also very low compared to what vet services cost in other states.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Krauss and his staff. They are amazing! I spent this past weekend in tears thinking that I was going to lose my baby girl. Dixie was so sick that we couldn't wait until Monday morning. We took her to the emergency clinic on Sunday. They keep her going until we could take her to Franklin County Hospital that following morning. I believe we have her home today because of the care you guys provided for her. Thank you!

My 13 year old dog broke out of our fence, she was gone for several days, we did everything we could to locate her, finally the Franklin county dog catchers found her 8.8 miles from our home and took her to the frankin county animal hospital, as soon as we found out our dog was found we tried to locate someone to get her back, since it was the weekend no one would help us or talk to us at the animal hospital, when we finally talked to someone from the animal hospital we were told our bill was $477 for a shave of our pet because supposedly she was covered in ticks and maggots, (the dog has never had maggots before, and any ticks she has had we have always removed). once they shaved her hair they found what they say is a dead patch of skin and now want to do surgery, but since i can't pay the total $477 they don't want to work with me, and have threatened me, by saying they have contacted the franklin county humane society and if i can't pay for my dog then they will take her from me, but i would still be responsible for the bill. My kids are devastated and want their dog back, but apparently all this hospital is concerned about is people who can pay upfront and have lots of money, they don't care about pets unless you have money. Its all a money racket. Especially since I called back on Wednesday to get my dog and now my bill is $576.15, don't forget the .15.... Makes me sick.

Went for a consult, stayed for surgery, became a committed customer. Most of the vets I contacted wouldn't even answer questions over the phone regarding the surgery my dog needed. I was looking for information on which type of surgical approach they used to repair a torn cruciate. Most offices basically said that we would discuss all of that at the consult and wouldn't answer any questions over the phone. Dr Krauss jumped on the phone and gave me a thorough explanation of the procedure and we set up a consult immediately. Dr Krauss has been phenomenal to work with, he came very highly recommended for a cruciate repair procedure by multiple professionals in the area. He did not disappoint. He has been prompt and concise with all post surgical questions. My dog is a working girl and I feel 100% confident that the repair will allow her the most comfortable future with minimal limitations. The facility is fantastic, easily accessible and very clean. I'm so pleased with their service that I'm willing to drive 45 minutes each way to get there. I've since had the opportunity to meet other vets on staff. I feel confident with any them handling the care of my dogs. The staff is second to none. When you walk into FCAH you feel like family.

While visiting the Rocky Mount area for the day, my chihuahua puppy, became ill and need to see a vet ASAP. A quick internet search led us to Franklin County Animal Hospital. From the moment we walked in (without an appointment), the whole staff was pleasant, comforting, and got my pup back quickly for evaluation. Dr. Annis was wonderful and I had no doubt that Peanut was in great hands. Her knowledge of the care of small dogs along with her ability to explain Peanut's problem and her recommendations for his treatment immediately put me at ease. 45 minutes later, we were out the door, with all the info and meds we needed to get my pup back to health. They were even so kind as to give us a jump when our car battery died in the parking lot. Later that day, we were home safely and by evening, Peanut was back to playing and ripping through the house. Couldn't recommend a better vet practice anywhere. If I lived nearby, they would definitely be my first choice for the care of my animals.

Dr. Annis & Megan...thank you so much for being so supportive during one of the hardest times in my life I've ever had to endure My Derf was such a joy and wonderful companion (4 legged son) for almost 9 years. The decision my family had to make was heartbreaking, but yall explaining the pros/cons of this terrible disease CANCER, gave us some comfort knowing that we were making the right decision. My precious boy is no longer suffering, even though I wanted to keep him here for my own selfish reasons. Excellent care facility for animals. My relatives in Rocky Mount and the area all use this place and trust Doctor Kraus. If I have any problems I'm taking my baby here. Don't believe the crazy negative review i saw from a person named Nathen Lambert. Though I have heard from relatives that the staff can be disrespectful at times, i just cant believe a person would try to trash talk a place with as good a reputation as FCAH.

I have heard nothing but good things about Dr. Krauss at FCAH. My relative was very pleased with the way they cared for and treated her small dog. However some of the staff here are very ignorant and need to learn how to treat others with respect. While waiting, my relative heard one of the staff members discussing her and saying she probably didn't work. My relative has 2 jobs, as a matter of fact, thank you. She probably works harder than those staff that were talking about her negatively. She also heard the staff say €She's annoying. € She did not say anything to the staff and she was the bigger person in this situation, but I have to say. You are working in an animal hospital giving out care to sick and injured animals. Should you be speaking that way about people who bring their pets in to be cared for? Thats actually pretty disgusting in my opinion. Are you with my relative every second of everyday? How could you be so judgemental to say she doesn't work? Also how can you say she is annoying out loud where she could hear, even if she did annoy you? The staff need to be a little more professional, compassionate and learn a little respect. Otherwise good animal hospital.

A little over a week ago, my family and I had to make a really difficult decision. Our 16 year old dog was struggling with numerous infections and organ failures. After a lot of consideration, which was really not easy at all, we finally decided to end her suffering, and have our beloved friend euthanized. The staff here were all very empathetic, professional, kind, and respectful. First and foremost, they explained what options we may have, and that chances of recovery for dogs her age are very slim. They supported our decision, and on the day, were helpful and caring. Under the circumstances, I am happy with our decision to bring her to this facility, and in the future, will bring other animals here as well. Thank you so much for helping our girl during her last days.

We've been coming here since the mid 80's and it's gotten even better since Dr. Krauss began his practice here - We love the entire staff and the wonderful care that has been given to all of our pets over the years (dogs, cats, and even our son's pet rat years ago). You can tell that they have genuine concern for our pets ~ We wouldn't think about taking our beloved fur babies anywhere else! :)

On Monday, I found a lost dog on 220 and stopped to pick her up. I was on my way to North Carolina and tried to take her by the animal shelter. The shelter is closed on Mondays, and it was past animal control business hours. So, I searched Google and found that FCAH was open until 7:30 and decided it was worth a shot. I called and explained the situation, and they told me to bring her over. They checked her for a microchip and found none. At this time, I offered to pay to have her boarded while we searched for her home. They declined to take my money, boarded her, and began calling all the vet offices and shelters in the area to put out the word. They kept her until her owner found her, and they kept me updated on the progress, knowing I was concerned about the girl. Besides the excellent care she received, the response of both the veterinarian and the hospital staff was indicative of their compassion and understanding of "beyond medical" issues.

After moving here from Ky I was stressed trying to find a new vet for my pug(since he had been with our last vet in ky for 7 years). But FCAH has taken such good care of him, and I even had to board him back in November for 10 days for the first time ever and was worried bc he has separation anxiety, but he did great and they gave him extra love and made him feel relaxed and at home! I'm very grateful to have such caring and professional people to take care of all my pugs needs.

i bought my cat there that had hyper thyroid there for treat ment and they gave me the medicine for him but failed to tell me this was a on going treat ment so they refilled it again and when it ran out they didnt want to re fill it untill we had blood work done but i was in between jobs and diddnt have the money and would not work with us untill we had money at the end of the month so my cat went with out it and a month later he died from compication and when i nodify them that he was dying they didnt call back till after he pass 2 days later

I have been a client of Franklin County Animal Hospital now for over 7 years and I can't say enough about the wonderful way I have always been treated and my animals have always been taken care of in the best possible way there. I know I can trust them and they will always tell you the truth - whether it be good or bad. It's nice to know when you need a good vet there is one you can count on. Bummed that they are no longer open on Saturdays but that doesn't deter me from using them when I need a vet. Great vet, great staff.....what more could you ask for.

I have five indoor dogs, whom I must say I love very, very much. I used to go to another vet, which I finally left, when I realized my dogs weren't getting the proper care I expected from a vet. It was really hard. I felt like I was divorcing my best friend. I was a little fearful, to say the least. What vet would I choose? It was a difficult decision. I didn't want to make a mistake. I finally picked Franklin County Animal Hospital because I had heard another teacher at my school speak well of them. I made an appointment and I have never looked back! They diagnosed my dogs properly and my dogs were healed! All of the problems my dogs were having were gone!!! Imagine my relief and my joy! Not only were my dogs feeling better, I felt better. Let me express it like this: with my other vet I was experiencing dog health care in black and white, and with Dr. Krauss, I am experiencing dog health care in bright, clear, living color! He is smart, friendly, and compassionate. In other words, he is extremely intelligent and has his thumb on current issues and technologies. His wife, Sherri, is the heart of his soul. She is educated, intelligent, and great at making me feel special and cared for. I'm telling you, when you become a client of Franklin County Animal Hospital, you will never look back! You will feel at home! You will KNOW your pets are in the care of the best vet in our region. You will take a sigh of relief and and just know you made the right decision. Really. I have been a client at the Franklin County Animal Hospital for over 20 years. I would not take any of my animials anywhere else. The staff is great and they make a point to treat you like family. I remember the hardest day of my life is when I lost my beloved dog King.. He was my companion for 10 years and was loved dearly. When I lost him, I did not know what I was going to do.. I had reacently got married and lived in Bedford County.. My family still lived in Franklin.. We contacted Franklin County and they made all the arrangements for us. You won't find many people now days who will do that.. To this day, I still take all my animals to Franklin County . I don't mind the travel time to and from. I have a vet within 5 miles of my home, but I refuse to take my animals anywhere else.. I know they will be taken care and thats means the world to me.

We have been going to FCAH for several years, but one the last couple week they have really impressed us. One of our dogs had TTA surgery and developed serious complications. They worked diligently and quickly to help our boy. Drogo had to go to VA Tech for further treatment and both Dr. Krauss stayed in constant contact with us and Va Tech to keep check on his progress and to work with us on the after care. Dr Mcbain with Dr. Krauss made the call to go to Tech. She made us feel that she genuinely care about his case and was truly empathetic to the circumstances. Like many of you, our dogs are like our kids. Along with his professional and accommodating staff, I would trust no other vet with the care of our furry children.

I always liked the people at the FCAH and thought our pets were getting good care, but our last two cats died under what we considered to be rather suspicious circumstances. I understand it must be difficult to diagnose when your patient can't tell you where it hurts, but both were misdiagnosed and ended up having to be put to sleep unexpectedly because they went downhill very quickly when they didn't receive appropriate care.

Dixie was so sick that we couldn't wait until Monday morning. We took her to the emergency clinic on Sunday. They keep her going until we could take her to Franklin County Hospital that following morning. I believe we have her home today because of the care you guys provided for her. Thank you!

My 13 year old dog broke out of our fence, she was gone for several days, we did everything we could to locate her, finally the Franklin county dog catchers found her 8.8 miles from our home and took her to the frankin county animal hospital, as soon as we found out our dog was found we tried to locate someone to get her back, since it was the weekend no one would help us or talk to us at the animal hospital, when we finally talked to someone from the animal hospital we were told our bill was $477 for a shave of our pet because supposedly she was covered in ticks and maggots, (the dog has never had maggots before, and any ticks she has had we have always removed). once they shaved her hair they found what they say is a dead patch of skin and now want to do surgery, but since i can't pay the total $477 they don't want to work with me, and have threatened me, by saying they have contacted the franklin county humane society and if i can't pay for my dog then they will take her from me, but i would still be responsible for the bill. My kids are devastated and want their dog back, but apparently all this hospital is concerned about is people who can pay upfront and have lots of money, they don't care about pets unless you have money. Its all a money racket. Especially since I called back on Wednesday to get my dog and now my bill is $576.15, don't forget the .15.... Makes me sick.

Went for a consult, stayed for surgery, became a committed customer. Most of the vets I contacted wouldn't even answer questions over the phone regarding the surgery my dog needed. I was looking for information on which type of surgical approach they used to repair a torn cruciate. Most offices basically said that we would discuss all of that at the consult and wouldn't answer any questions over the phone. Dr Krauss jumped on the phone and gave me a thorough explanation of the procedure and we set up a consult immediately. Dr Krauss has been phenomenal to work with, he came very highly recommended for a cruciate repair procedure by multiple professionals in the area. He did not disappoint. He has been prompt and concise with all post surgical questions. My dog is a working girl and I feel 100% confident that the repair will allow her the most comfortable future with minimal limitations. The facility is fantastic, easily accessible and very clean. I'm so pleased with their service that I'm willing to drive 45 minutes each way to get there. I've since had the opportunity to meet other vets on staff. I feel confident with any them handling the care of my dogs. The staff is second to none. When you walk into FCAH you feel like family.

While visiting the Rocky Mount area for the day, my chihuahua puppy, became ill and need to see a vet ASAP. A quick internet search led us to Franklin County Animal Hospital. From the moment we walked in (without an appointment), the whole staff was pleasant, comforting, and got my pup back quickly for evaluation. Dr. Annis was wonderful and I had no doubt that Peanut was in great hands. Her knowledge of the care of small dogs along with her ability to explain Peanut's problem and her recommendations for his treatment immediately put me at ease. 45 minutes later, we were out the door, with all the info and meds we needed to get my pup back to health. They were even so kind as to give us a jump when our car battery died in the parking lot. Later that day, we were home safely and by evening, Peanut was back to playing and ripping through the house. Couldn't recommend a better vet practice anywhere. If I lived nearby, they would definitely be my first choice for the care of my animals.

The decision my family had to make was heartbreaking, but yall explaining the pros/cons of this terrible disease CANCER, gave us some comfort knowing that we were making the right decision. My precious boy is no longer suffering, even though I wanted to keep him here for my own selfish reasons. I have heard nothing but good things about Dr. Krauss at FCAH. My relative was very pleased with the way they cared for and treated her small dog. However some of the staff here are very ignorant and need to learn how to treat others with respect. While waiting, my relative heard one of the staff members discussing her and saying she probably didn't work. My relative has 2 jobs, as a matter of fact, thank you. She probably works harder than those staff that were talking about her negatively. She also heard the staff say €She's annoying. € She did not say anything to the staff and she was the bigger person in this situation, but I have to say. You are working in an animal hospital giving out care to sick and injured animals. Should you be speaking that way about people who bring their pets in to be cared for? Thats actually pretty disgusting in my opinion. Are you with my relative every second of everyday? How could you be so judgemental to say she doesn't work? Also how can you say she is annoying out loud where she could hear, even if she did annoy you? The staff need to be a little more professional, compassionate and learn a little respect. Otherwise good animal hospital.

A little over a week ago, my family and I had to make a really difficult decision. Our 16 year old dog was struggling with numerous infections and organ failures. After a lot of consideration, which was really not easy at all, we finally decided to end her suffering, and have our beloved friend euthanized. The staff here were all very empathetic, professional, kind, and respectful. First and foremost, they explained what options we may have, and that chances of recovery for dogs her age are very slim. They supported our decision, and on the day, were helpful and caring. Under the circumstances, I am happy with our decision to bring her to this facility, and in the future, will bring other animals here as well. Thank you so much for helping our girl during her last days.

On Monday, I found a lost dog on 220 and stopped to pick her up. I was on my way to North Carolina and tried to take her by the animal shelter. The shelter is closed on Mondays, and it was past animal control business hours. So, I searched Google and found that FCAH was open until 7:30 and decided it was worth a shot. I called and explained the situation, and they told me to bring her over. They checked her for a microchip and found none. At this time, I offered to pay to have her boarded while we searched for her home. They declined to take my money, boarded her, and began calling all the vet offices and shelters in the area to put out the word. They kept her until her owner found her, and they kept me updated on the progress, knowing I was concerned about the girl. Besides the excellent care she received, the response of both the veterinarian and the hospital staff was indicative of their compassion and understanding of "beyond medical" issues.

After moving here from Ky I was stressed trying to find a new vet for my pug(since he had been with our last vet in ky for 7 years). But FCAH has taken such good care of him, and I even had to board him back in November for 10 days for the first time ever and was worried bc he has separation anxiety, but he did great and they gave him extra love and made him feel relaxed and at home! I'm very grateful to have such caring and professional people to take care of all my pugs needs.

I have been a client of Franklin County Animal Hospital now for over 7 years and I can't say enough about the wonderful way I have always been treated and my animals have always been taken care of in the best possible way there. I know I can trust them and they will always tell you the truth - whether it be good or bad. It's nice to know when you need a good vet there is one you can count on. Bummed that they are no longer open on Saturdays but that doesn't deter me from using them when I need a vet. Great vet, great staff.....what more could you ask for.

I have five indoor dogs, whom I must say I love very, very much. I used to go to another vet, which I finally left, when I realized my dogs weren't getting the proper care I expected from a vet. It was really hard. I felt like I was divorcing my best friend. I was a little fearful, to say the least. What vet would I choose? It was a difficult decision. I didn't want to make a mistake. I finally picked Franklin County Animal Hospital because I had heard another teacher at my school speak well of them. I made an appointment and I have never looked back! They diagnosed my dogs properly and my dogs were healed! All of the problems my dogs were having were gone!!! Imagine my relief and my joy! Not only were my dogs feeling better, I felt better. Let me express it like this: with my other vet I was experiencing dog health care in black and white, and with Dr. Krauss, I am experiencing dog health care in bright, clear, living color! I have been a client at the Franklin County Animal Hospital for over 20 years. I would not take any of my animials anywhere else. The staff is great and they make a point to treat you like family. I remember the hardest day of my life is when I lost my beloved dog King.. He was my companion for 10 years and was loved dearly. When I lost him, I did not know what I was going to do.. I had reacently got married and lived in Bedford County.. My family still lived in Franklin.. We contacted Franklin County and they made all the arrangements for us. You won't find many people now days who will do that.. To this day, I still take all my animals to Franklin County . I don't mind the travel time to and from. I have a vet within 5 miles of my home, but I refuse to take my animals anywhere else.. I know they will be taken care and thats means the world to me.
