For years this was a great place to take your animals, until most recently. While the doctors are informative and seem caring about the health of the pets, the front desk seems to differ in opinion. Our cat was diagnosed as diabetic just the day prior, upon checking our cat out and attempting to purchase the medicine and food our cat will now need, the woman at the front desk refused to answer any questions on the care of a diabetic cat such as what daily dose of insulin he'll need, what glucose monitors they would recommend and what number he should have when tested. Instead of even getting these answers from the doctor or taking a note to call us with the answers, she only pushed her sales pitch to buy the most expensive insulin they have. When asked about the samples to find out what type of the food our cat would take to, she snipped at my husband that it wasn't in the notes and refused to ask the doctor about it. Because of the lack of information she out right refused to give us, my husband told her he would do some research and come back the next day. True to his word, he did so. And still the front desk out right refused to answer any questions on caring for a diabetic cat and now has told him they sold out of the insulin and to give them a call on Monday. We will be retrieving our pets medical records and taking them to another vet. Read Less

I cannot express my gratitude for this vet. I discovered a small tumor on my dog's paw yesterday because it had opened up and was causing him pain. No other vet in the area could see him until after the weekend. Salem Animal Hospital made the room to fit us in even though they were booked. I had to wait a little bit, they kept apologizing but there was no need. I was just grateful that they didn't turn us away like every other vet in the area. The staff were discussing the animals they loved and their favorite animal TV shows. Without being aware that I was listening, it was evident that they are passionate about animals. I knew my dog was in good hands. The vet himself was great and down to earth. He advised me of what we needed to do in terms that I could understand and seemed to really care about the health of my old boy. I will never go anywhere else. They have proven that they WANT my business and that they genuinely care about their patients. I'd rate them higher than 5 stars if it were possible. Read Less

Great stuff! Great doctor! Nice, clean and comfortable office. Waiting time not more that 15 minutes although there was an emergency case. Highly satisfied, puppy did not even feel his vaccination. Would definitely recommend and come back!!! Read Less

we had a emergency on a sat;our reg vet couldn't see our dog; we were told to go to a emergency vet called them it was going to be $85.00 upfront then at least 2 hr wait;they actually told me to call around& try to see if someone else could help;after a few calls ..got of with salem animal hospital got us right in; they were so helpful;the vet dr.amanda riddle was so sweet & caring;she got right down to the floor & was talking to our dog;she told us to leave him for a couple hrs..we picked him up she was very explantory in what was going on & what had to be done...everyone was nice.. especially the ladt working the front desk & made our appt..again thanks Read Less

I love this place! I have taken all of my animals there for years. Their staff is top-notch. When my dog was sick, they were so comforting. And after he passed, they wrote us a note with a personalized message from ever staff member that brought tears to my eyes. When our new rescue kitten had a horrible abscess of his face and eye, they worked him in same day to do an urgent procedure. Dr. Bryant is the best vet doc I've ever met. Dr. Bryant and staff are wonderful. Words cannot express how much I appreciate their support and compassion during the most difficult thing I've ever had to do. Yesterday we had our 14 yr old lab/Sheppard mix put down. It was so difficult walking out without my baby, but I knew he was in good hands. I remember when our Jackson had a skin allergy and Dr. Bryant called and talked to me on the phone for nearly and hour discussing options on how to figure out what was causing it. I love this place. We recently got a puppy and after a few days i knew something wasn't right so i called Dr.Bryant and they saw me immediately . If I didnt take my Phebe she wouldn't have made it. I owe them big time. The staff is awesomeness. Friendly so nice they make you feel comfortable. I will always go here for my dogs. You can tell they love these animals and will do anything for them. The entire staff here is absolutely excellent and treats us and our puppies like family! They have consistently met then exceeded our expectations and needs. They are welcoming, have hugged and comforted us through difficult times, answered frantic 7:30 am questions, and have always been helpful and supportive. My dog got sick and they were able to get me an appointment within 2 hours of my calling. When I got there everyone was very friendly and I could tell they were all about the animals. They made my puppy and I both feel very comfortable and were able to help him feel better. My puppy definitely liked Dr Bryant too. I think we found our new regular vet. Read Less

My wife and I are both animal lovers. Our dogs are members of our family, and we want to be sure that they're taken care of; not just looked at once a year. Dr. Bryant and the staff at Salem Animal Hospital have gone above and beyond what we've come to expect from veterinary care providers. There is more than just expertise in this practice. Its owners and staff obviously care about their patients as is evidenced by the warm greeting we--and our dogs--receive each time we visit. Better yet, we can talk to them and get real advice rather than feel like we're being pitched a sale. I'm a little biased, as they treated an issue with one of our dogs which no other provider in the area could handle.
