We've been going here a couple of years now. They're a good practice- just the right balance between taking care of the doggies and not making you spend a ton. They know both of my dogs by name, even though we don't go that often. They're really responsive to during-the-week emergencies- our dogs had some awful digestive issues from getting into the compost pile, and they were able to get us in that afternoon and treat them (which was vital for our whole household's peace of mind!).They seem to have a steady client base, but when I've made appointments I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. I was a client at Battlefield Veterinary Clinic for at least 25 years. On Friday, 8/15/08, I had an appointment to have my Chihuahua, Tawny, euthanized. She had been in liver failure for several weeks, and as heartbreaking as it was? it was time. I had asked to see Dr. Bailey, but was told Dr. Swenson was the only vet available. Not wanting to risk Tawny getting worse over the weekend, I made the appointment with Dr. Swenson. When I arrived, Dr. Swenson said she would have to give Tawny a ?heavy sedation? shot in her muscle, so Tawny would be perfectly still for the injection. As soon as Dr. Swenson gave Tawny the shot, Tawny yelped and cried like I have never ever heard her do. It seemed to last forever. Tawny was in so much pain, she bit my friend who had come with me. I asked Dr. Swenson ?why is she crying so much??. Dr. Swenson looked at me with a disgusted look, and in a very condescending voice said? ?She?s crying because I gave her a shot in her muscle. Haven?t YOU ever gotten a shot in the muscle?? She then left the room while we waited for the shot to take affect. After she returned and gave Tawny the euthanasia injection, she asked if we were going to take Tawny home. We said we had already made arrangements to take her home the next morning. Dr. Swenson hesitated, then said?. ?well, I?ll have to put her in the freezer?. As I?m sure many of you are aware, having a cherished pet euthanized is a very difficult thing to do. It makes it even more difficult to know in her last few moments of life, Tawny was in excruciating pain, caused by a veterinarian. Read Less
