My wife and I have been in Williamsburg for over 16 years and have regularly used this practice for all of our pets. We were very good acquaintances with the older Dr. Anderson and ultimately with the son. We never had a problem with the practice until the past several years. My sister-in-law brought her 2 labrador retrievers there for a routine visit and mentioned that one of the dogs had some blood in their urine. She ended up walking out with an $800 bill for Laboratory work, x-rays, and overbilling on the routine visit. The horrible thing is that she is a single mom and they told her that she had to buy the drugs there at the facility. I checked into this and Virginia law states that they must offer you a prescription to go obtain your medication from elsewhere if you feel like it is too expensive. The physician there at the time told her she must get the antibiotic at their facility. Ultimately I caught them in this lie and I asked to speak to the medical director and in the process I found that this practice has been purchased by a national company and I never got anyone on the phone to talk to me. This is very unfortunate as they were so good when the father and son owned the business. We immediately removed all of our animals and my sister-in-law's animals from their practice and brought them elsewhere. I am very disappointed and cannot express enough the fact that I would never go here again.

Anderson's Corner has had our dog Willow for multiple weeks free of charge, and were supposed to do some very expensive testing while there for free since they lied to us, withheld information about her, and in turn have directly inhibited the health care needs of my 2 & 3 year old children's severe illness & myself related to zoonotic disease & the necessity of accurate diagnosis in animal to effectively treat humans. If your dog is currently being boarded here, know that your dog is not safe for there is a dog being held there that is not safe to be around other dogs and is in my opinion their test rat for a severe disease process that we had no idea about until getting the chart 5 mins prior to calling for it (which they have shredded since). They have harassed us and inhibited our own health and well being by withholding information and lying. My family will make sure justice prevails for our family and for our sweet girl Willow. Do not trust these people, they are disgraceful & it's absolutely heartbreaking we have trusted them with our pets lives. I will not let this go nor will I ever stop fighting to make sure justice is served.

Been with caring, honesty n all about the pet n answers every question n makes sure you are happy. Been with Mrs. Welch for over 15 yrs. I like dr. Robb n his dad had them at Boulevard vet when they owed it with 3 other animals of mine. They all are great n come from nn to them any day pricing n all Staff is EXCELLENT..I BE LOST WITHOUT THEM SAVED 2 OF MY PETS THANK GOD FOR THIS VET N STAFF IN IT.

Don't bring your pet here. Especially as a walk in or urgent situation. They will wait until their urgent care hours just to charge you more money. I sat there for 2 1/2 hours today. Also, not very easy or gentle with my dog. The way he was treated, I wonder how they would feel if their pet was treated that way. Evaluate how your employees work with animals before hiring them.

I probably should have done this review awhile ago. The staff here are wonderful, caring, and always keep my dogs up to date with printed and call reminders. I've never had any issues with surgeries, services or billing. Not only that, I would like to recognize their grooming staff, Ann, who has groomed all three of my poms for the last 3 years. Ann is very patient and listens to all my needs and wants. She does exactly what we talk about prior to grooming and all my poms comes out great and not too short/bald. I've had horrible experiences with other grooming facilities which left my first Pom with hair that won't grow back the same. I highly recommend this place from preventative services to grooming and anything in between.

Can not say enough great things about this hospital. The staff and doctors are amazing. My dog hates the vet. The staff went out of there way to make me feel comfortable and did great with my dog. I feel very comfortable with them. They are very knowledgeable. Answered any questions or concerns I had. Were upfront about pricing. My dog had surgery and physical therapy there. Every person that worked at Anderson’s did a great job with my dog. I would absolutely recommend Anderson’s to anyone especially if needed surgery or rehab for your pet.

We had to put our dog to sleep and brought her here because it was a Sunday. We were told that we would get a free paw print in plaster if we had the dog cremated, my husband decided to go that route. We got the call that her ashes were back, my husband went to pick them up, he didn't notice until he got home that there was no paw print, he was devastated. I called and was put on hold for over 10 mins, I actually drove there while still on hold. I was told they were looking for the print; eventually a girl called me into a room to tell me they didn't do a paw print, her good news was we weren't charged for it , I quickly corrected her to say we were told there was no charge for it. Their way of making up for this terrible mistake is to have a picture of the dog done on canvas at no charge - we have numerous pictures of our dog, we did not have a paw print. Needless to say we are both devastated and heartbroken. We now regret not burying her in our yard.

My pet's get better care at a cleaner facility than my child does at CHKD pediatrics in Norfolk (no kidding! and yes, I switched pediatricians). Timely appointments, helpful staff, genuine concern for pet and owner, they look out for the entire family. You could not find a more considerate, able, group anywhere. Doctors you can trust.

Anderson's vet was recommended to us as we recently moved to the area. Dr. Broz, in additional to all the staff, was very accommodating and professional. We have 2 old labs, and the care they've both received was beyond our expectations. I felt the treatment plans were in the best interest of our dogs, and not simply to leave us in debt with a huge vet bill, which is common in many other offices in the area/state. I highly recommend Anderson's vet and particular Dr. Broz.

My dog was neutered here in 2013 and supposedly had a canine extracted at the same time ($75 just for the extraction alone)... 3 years later he starts having problems where that tooth was, he has to be put under anesthesia AGAIN to find out they didn't extract the entire tooth. Part of it had broken off when it was extracted and they didn't bother to get the rest of it out. I called and spoke to a lovely receptionist (I wish I could remember her name, she truly was so sweet and understanding) and she was to leave a message with the doctor for them to call me back... never I never heard anything. I would never take another pet here. Canine tooth roots are huge, especially on a 50lb dog- they should have known part of the tooth was missing. There's no reason I should have had to pay to have it extracted a second time essentially and even worse it was an anesthesia risk I shouldn't have had to take again with my pet. Awful!

So grateful to have such an amazing vet practice just outside Williamsburg. Because there are so many great vets on the staff, we are always able to get worked in and to have our dogs treated quickly...
So grateful to have such an amazing vet practice just outside Williamsburg. Because there are so many great vets on the staff, we are always able to get worked in and to have our dogs treated quickly and comprehensively. The vets are incredibly responsive to messages and follow up on biopsies, bloodwork, etc, which is so important as my dogs' health and well-being is so important to me. They really care about the animals. I have sent so many friends here, who were new to the area or needing better vet care than they seemed to be getting, and all of them loved Andersons Corner, . Just a great place!!

Best clinic I have ever been a client of. Wonderful care without a doubt! Doc is the very best. Caring, talented, compassionate are just a few words to describe him. He has been there for us in times of sadness and he truly loves every pet and their owners. When Doc gets down on the floor and observes your dog, pets him, talks to him and then diagnoses your dog, you know you are in the best hands. Doc is a true gift.

We have lived in the Williamsburg area since 2003. We were delighted that this Hospital opened so close to us. Dr. Rob is very knowledgeable and competent, also he goes in depth during the diagnoses process so as a pet parent you feel that your fur kid is in good hands. We had adopted a 8 year old hound last year, his bottom teeth were so worn, and really bothered him. Dr. Rob took our pup in and fixed an infected one first and then he had another visit for the second tooth. He was kept the entire day for each appt. to make sure he didn't have any complications. They also accept Care Credit as well which is a Plus. They can offer more services and vaccines but take in account for mindful patients who know what environment their kid lives in...indoors vs outdoors or needs to be boarded often, all require different vaccinations. The cat might be in the kennel area, but the dog photo is not, they have two large areas for dogs, each gets a bed and they have different prices. Lastly, they have a huge enclosure as well that the pups get to use as well.

My service dog became ill, but when we took him into Banfield pet hospital, there wasn't much they were able to do for him other than basic care. We were advised to find a veterinary clinic that specializes in cancer so we found Anderson's Corner animal hospital and took him there. Dr. McDougall is one of the kindest and most personable vet I've come across. His knowledge, professionalism, and true caring make him an excellent choice as a vet for your animal. I will only ever take my animals to them from that point forward.

I was CRUSHED having grown up with my cat (I am 22) so a family friend helped by driving me (and my cat) out to Anderson's Corner. My mom had called ahead to let them know we were on our way for him to be put down. We walk in and tell the front desk who we are and they have no recollection who we are (my mom has just called them and we had been in 4 days before). The receptionist starts looking into if we're picking him up at which point we have to say WE'RE HERE TO HAVE HIM PUT DOWN. Then we are taken back into a room and the process is explained to me and I sign the paperwork. They come to take him out to insert a catheter and bring him right back to do the procedure. They come back empty handed and proceed to tell me that "COCOA decided to pass on his own." MY CATS NAME WASN'T COCOA. I mainly just feel like this hospital did nothing personal to comfort me or ease my pain at all.

We have been using AC for over a decade for many different pets that we have. The most recent experience I had with them has driven me to switch vets completely. The newer front office staff is rude and insensitive. Although both Dr.Murphy's are excellent, it's not worth dealing with the horrendous office staff up front. I had an outbreak of worms in my house that exposed up to 6 animals. I spent a total of two days driving back and forth, to sit in their office for about 4 hours, and they didn't even give us medicine for the right animals. It was right before Christmas and made us very uncomfortable having guests over. I would think the office staff should have some kind of sensitivity training. I'm not trusting them with my beloved animals any longer

A highly qualified veterinary staff with a beautifully laid out facility. Unlike the VCA animal hospitals where discussing the bill for treatment comes first and the dogs are boarded in small, cramped, poor lit/ventilated runs with the parking lot as the outdoor bathroom, Andersons has a huge dog run where the dogs can exercise. Well worth the trip to Toano.

Anderson's Corner is a Blessing! We moved to the area a little over 4 years ago. We went through 2 different Vets until Anderson's Corner opened up. I decided to interview before actually bringing our boys. I met with Dr. Robb and was extremely pleased. One of our Huskies has seizures and requires a lot of care. Dr. Robb is the most amazing and caring and dedicated Veterinarian. Even when Dr. Robb is off, he is still calling or coming in to check on his patients. He and his staff truly care about their patients. I wish I could find a doctor for myself that would care as much as they do. We have had experience with all of the staff, from the Vets, Techs, Boarding and all of the wonderful ladies up front, and they are all amazing, compassionate and very knowledgeable. We totally and completely trust all of the staff at Anderson's corner with our Furry, Four-Legged babies and are always recommending them. I have spoken to so many people from Newport News to Lanexa who also entrust their babies to Anderson's Corner. We are so thankful to Dr. Robb and Dr. Andy Murphie and the Amazing Team they have put together. Thank You, Jen, Rich, Isabella, Chewy and Apollo Sowinski

We have been patients of the Murphie's as long as we have had animals. They are great doctors, and have such friendly staff. A couple years ago, my cat had extreme eye issues, and almost died during and after surgery to correct it..she was so sick, that Dr Murphie, sr, drove her in his car all the way to Richmond to a special emergency hospital where they took care of her for almost a week. She recovered nicely.We have followed them to several different clinics while they were building their Toano location. We now drive 30 miles to see them when we need our veterinary care. We would never consider going any where else. I am sure you will love them as much as we do.

If your dog is currently being boarded here, know that your dog is not safe for there is a dog being held there that is not safe to be around other dogs and is in my opinion their test rat for a severe disease process that we had no idea about until getting the chart 5 mins prior to calling for it (which they have shredded since). They have harassed us and inhibited our own health and well being by withholding information and lying. My family will make sure justice prevails for our family and for our sweet girl Willow. Do not trust these people, they are disgraceful & it's absolutely heartbreaking we have trusted them with our pets lives. I will not let this go nor will I ever stop fighting to make sure justice is served.

Been with caring, honesty n all about the pet n answers every question n makes sure you are happy. Been with Mrs. Welch for over 15 yrs. I like dr. Robb n his dad had them at Boulevard vet when they owed it with 3 other animals of mine. They all are great n come from nn to them any day pricing n all Staff is EXCELLENT..I BE LOST WITHOUT THEM SAVED 2 OF MY PETS THANK GOD FOR THIS VET N STAFF IN IT.

Also, not very easy or gentle with my dog. The way he was treated, I wonder how they would feel if their pet was treated that way. Evaluate how your employees work with animals before hiring them.

I probably should have done this review awhile ago. The staff here are wonderful, caring, and always keep my dogs up to date with printed and call reminders. I've never had any issues with surgeries, services or billing. Not only that, I would like to recognize their grooming staff, Ann, who has groomed all three of my poms for the last 3 years. Ann is very patient and listens to all my needs and wants. She does exactly what we talk about prior to grooming and all my poms comes out great and not too short/bald. I've had horrible experiences with other grooming facilities which left my first Pom with hair that won't grow back the same. I highly recommend this place from preventative services to grooming and anything in between.

Can not say enough great things about this hospital. The staff and doctors are amazing. My dog hates the vet. The staff went out of there way to make me feel comfortable and did great with my dog. I feel very comfortable with them. They are very knowledgeable. Answered any questions or concerns I had. Were upfront about pricing. My dog had surgery and physical therapy there. Every person that worked at Anderson’s did a great job with my dog. I would absolutely recommend Anderson’s to anyone especially if needed surgery or rehab for your pet.

We had to put our dog to sleep and brought her here because it was a Sunday. We were told that we would get a free paw print in plaster if we had the dog cremated, my husband decided to go that route. We got the call that her ashes were back, my husband went to pick them up, he didn't notice until he got home that there was no paw print, he was devastated. I called and was put on hold for over 10 mins, I actually drove there while still on hold. I was told they were looking for the print; eventually a girl called me into a room to tell me they didn't do a paw print, her good news was we weren't charged for it , I quickly corrected her to say we were told there was no charge for it. Their way of making up for this terrible mistake is to have a picture of the dog done on canvas at no charge - we have numerous pictures of our dog, we did not have a paw print. Needless to say we are both devastated and heartbroken. We now regret not burying her in our yard.

Anderson's vet was recommended to us as we recently moved to the area. Dr. Broz, in additional to all the staff, was very accommodating and professional. We have 2 old labs, and the care they've both received was beyond our expectations. I felt the treatment plans were in the best interest of our dogs, and not simply to leave us in debt with a huge vet bill, which is common in many other offices in the area/state. I highly recommend Anderson's vet and particular Dr. Broz.

My dog was neutered here in 2013 and supposedly had a canine extracted at the same time ($75 just for the extraction alone)... 3 years later he starts having problems where that tooth was, he has to be put under anesthesia AGAIN to find out they didn't extract the entire tooth. Part of it had broken off when it was extracted and they didn't bother to get the rest of it out. I called and spoke to a lovely receptionist (I wish I could remember her name, she truly was so sweet and understanding) and she was to leave a message with the doctor for them to call me back... never I never heard anything. I would never take another pet here. Canine tooth roots are huge, especially on a 50lb dog- they should have known part of the tooth was missing. There's no reason I should have had to pay to have it extracted a second time essentially and even worse it was an anesthesia risk I shouldn't have had to take again with my pet. Awful!

So grateful to have such an amazing vet practice just outside Williamsburg. Because there are so many great vets on the staff, we are always able to get worked in and to have our dogs treated quickly...
So grateful to have such an amazing vet practice just outside Williamsburg. Because there are so many great vets on the staff, we are always able to get worked in and to have our dogs treated quickly and comprehensively. The vets are incredibly responsive to messages and follow up on biopsies, bloodwork, etc, which is so important as my dogs' health and well-being is so important to me. They really care about the animals. I have sent so many friends here, who were new to the area or needing better vet care than they seemed to be getting, and all of them loved Andersons Corner, . Just a great place!!

He has been there for us in times of sadness and he truly loves every pet and their owners. When Doc gets down on the floor and observes your dog, pets him, talks to him and then diagnoses your dog, you know you are in the best hands. Doc is a true gift.

We have lived in the Williamsburg area since 2003. We were delighted that this Hospital opened so close to us. Dr. Rob is very knowledgeable and competent, also he goes in depth during the diagnoses process so as a pet parent you feel that your fur kid is in good hands. We had adopted a 8 year old hound last year, his bottom teeth were so worn, and really bothered him. Dr. Rob took our pup in and fixed an infected one first and then he had another visit for the second tooth. He was kept the entire day for each appt. to make sure he didn't have any complications. They also accept Care Credit as well which is a Plus. They can offer more services and vaccines but take in account for mindful patients who know what environment their kid lives in...indoors vs outdoors or needs to be boarded often, all require different vaccinations. The cat might be in the kennel area, but the dog photo is not, they have two large areas for dogs, each gets a bed and they have different prices. Lastly, they have a huge enclosure as well that the pups get to use as well.

My service dog became ill, but when we took him into Banfield pet hospital, there wasn't much they were able to do for him other than basic care. We were advised to find a veterinary clinic that specializes in cancer so we found Anderson's Corner animal hospital and took him there. Dr. McDougall is one of the kindest and most personable vet I've come across. His knowledge, professionalism, and true caring make him an excellent choice as a vet for your animal. I will only ever take my animals to them from that point forward.

I was CRUSHED having grown up with my cat (I am 22) so a family friend helped by driving me (and my cat) out to Anderson's Corner. My mom had called ahead to let them know we were on our way for him to be put down. We walk in and tell the front desk who we are and they have no recollection who we are (my mom has just called them and we had been in 4 days before). The receptionist starts looking into if we're picking him up at which point we have to say WE'RE HERE TO HAVE HIM PUT DOWN. Then we are taken back into a room and the process is explained to me and I sign the paperwork. They come to take him out to insert a catheter and bring him right back to do the procedure. They come back empty handed and proceed to tell me that "COCOA decided to pass on his own." MY CATS NAME WASN'T COCOA. I mainly just feel like this hospital did nothing personal to comfort me or ease my pain at all.

We have been using AC for over a decade for many different pets that we have. The most recent experience I had with them has driven me to switch vets completely. The newer front office staff is rude and insensitive. Although both Dr.Murphy's are excellent, it's not worth dealing with the horrendous office staff up front. I had an outbreak of worms in my house that exposed up to 6 animals. I spent a total of two days driving back and forth, to sit in their office for about 4 hours, and they didn't even give us medicine for the right animals. It was right before Christmas and made us very uncomfortable having guests over. I would think the office staff should have some kind of sensitivity training. I'm not trusting them with my beloved animals any longer

Unlike the VCA animal hospitals where discussing the bill for treatment comes first and the dogs are boarded in small, cramped, poor lit/ventilated runs with the parking lot as the outdoor bathroom, Andersons has a huge dog run where the dogs can exercise. Well worth the trip to Toano.

Anderson's Corner is a Blessing! We moved to the area a little over 4 years ago. We went through 2 different Vets until Anderson's Corner opened up. I decided to interview before actually bringing our boys. I met with Dr. Robb and was extremely pleased. One of our Huskies has seizures and requires a lot of care. Dr. Robb is the most amazing and caring and dedicated Veterinarian. Even when Dr. Robb is off, he is still calling or coming in to check on his patients. He and his staff truly care about their patients. I wish I could find a doctor for myself that would care as much as they do. We have had experience with all of the staff, from the Vets, Techs, Boarding and all of the wonderful ladies up front, and they are all amazing, compassionate and very knowledgeable. We totally and completely trust all of the staff at Anderson's corner with our Furry, Four-Legged babies and are always recommending them. I have spoken to so many people from Newport News to Lanexa who also entrust their babies to Anderson's Corner. We are so thankful to Dr. Robb and Dr. Andy Murphie and the Amazing Team they have put together. Thank You, Jen, Rich, Isabella, Chewy and Apollo Sowinski

We have been patients of the Murphie's as long as we have had animals. They are great doctors, and have such friendly staff. A couple years ago, my cat had extreme eye issues, and almost died during and after surgery to correct it..she was so sick, that Dr Murphie, sr, drove her in his car all the way to Richmond to a special emergency hospital where they took care of her for almost a week. She recovered nicely.We have followed them to several different clinics while they were building their Toano location. We now drive 30 miles to see them when we need our veterinary care. We would never consider going any where else. I am sure you will love them as much as we do.
