I could not find the location 4 Nimmo Parkway near the Harris Teeter in Virginia Beach. Our cat bear had a seizure while my husband was home that morning we've never known him to have one before we do not know if this was the first time or if he's had one that were not aware of. It really freaked my husband out and my husband was in a really bad condition when he called me. Calling our vet they sent us to this emergency vet. By the time my husband was on his way there, the seizure stopped. Lasted about 2-3 min. But seemed a lifetime!! Taking him here they did blood work and checked him over not seeing anything wrong physically and said they would send the blood out and we would hear something in 24 hours , this was on a Thursday morning early. After two phone calls the next day Friday there were still no answer about the blood lab. I decided to ride into Virginia Beach Saturday morning, we live in North Carolina and go to the vet in person that morning. There still was no answer!  The girl at the desk was very nice but looked  confused herself , she walked to the back and was  back there quite a while .They had to call the lab itself and they finally faxed over the results where I had them fax those over to my regular veterinarian. We're also confused on why when the phone calls were made the day before the person who answered the phone , why didn't they go to check to see why the results were not in yet? I find this unacceptable due to the fact we brought him there because of an emergency. Our regular vet  gets any blood Labs on either of our cats back , after sending them out of the area within 24 hours!  I was not satisfied nor was my husband with this kind of treatment knowing that maybe we needed a medicine to put him on right away. I just found no compassion in this place at all. Never had a doctor come out to talk to me to give me a reason why their lab was so slow. And even though they say  the lab did not call or fax the information over for all I know the papers were waiting on their desk  and no one ever checked . We treat our animals as we would our children and we were frustrated for a couple days not knowing if there was something seriously wrong at this point. Luckily for us so far the blood Labs have come with no signs of anything so we will keep an eye on our beautiful boy bear. This was our first time at this particular veterinarian due to this emergency so for the people who are reading this who had good experiences maybe this was a one-time deal for this place but in our hearts we feel we were not treated fairly so please you be the judge. We got a new Golden Retriever puppy and brought her here for her new puppy checkup. I booked my appointment through the app on my iPhone, which made it super simple to coordinate my appointment with them without even having to call. I got stuck in traffic and the staff was understanding and still allowed us to come. After arriving there was a slight 10 minute or so wait, which seems usual for veterinarians as they processed all the new patient forms. After being taken to a room the vet tech did her stuff and the doctor came in and cleared her. I immediately went to the front desk to make her second follow up appointment. We have found a veterinarian for any pet that we will get! Read Less

Reviews are based on two things, opinion of how the establishment runs and facts of how it does. MY OPINION is that they do not prepare for sunday as the only animal hospital open. Now to the FACTS.. When I arrived around 12-1 in the afternoon, my dog and I were put into containment room to make sure she wasn't contagious (This is perfectly fine procedure). What becomes not okay is when I am told to keep my dog in the room but then unknowingly have to wait 4-5+hr alone with my dog in the room (No water for my dog or myself). I left the room myself, tied my dog to the chair and had to leave her alone in the room to ask someone to at least take her vitals before I simply left because my dogs health didn't seem to be a priority (My dog either was CHOKING or had kennel cough). I was told her vitals were already taken which was a LIE. We were shoved in the room and all that happened was paperwork, NO VITALS WERE TAKEN. Still the *VET* insisted they already took vitals but wouldn't tell me what they were when I asked, only that they were "okay".. At this point I didn't trust the facility or staff as I was being lied to my face about my dogs VITAL SIGNS instead of admitting they forgot to take them and redo it so I left. (BACK TO MY OPINION) This in my opinion edges on some form of malpractice because the vet lied saying my dogs vital signs were okay when they were not even taken. This is UNACCEPTABLE and BAY BEACH does not seem held accountable to standards. I would like the owner/manager/whoever to leave their personal number so I can contact them. ***BE AWARE*** Read Less

2 hours waiting for Emergency service for my Yorkie and she still has not been diagnosed or treated. How can you be an Emergency vet when you have to wait in line for your turn to be seen like DMV?? All they could tell me is how many others were in front of me. Do they only have 1 doctor seeing all animals?? Definitely not emergency service but charged just to wait in line. I would have been better off coming in the morning during regular hours and paying less but seen quicker. They give me a form to sign to approve over $300 for an x-Ray of my dog's lungs and heart within the first 10 mins of arriving. But again just waiting patiently in the room for our turn to get this done to diagnose my poor doggie.  The day service here is good but the emergency is not treated emergency- just charged emergency fees Won't be returning here Read Less

It was late at night and my dog had suffered dog bites and a rip in his abdomen that exposed his intestines. I ran in with my dog and they quickly received him from me and brought him in the back to stabilize him. As he stabilized, they performed a 4 hour surgery and called me first thing in the middle of the night. They supported him and made sure he was comfortable. Unfortunately, in the morning his levels dropped drastically and I had to move him to a facility that has a criticalist. The doctor called over to Blue Pearl, relayed all information to them and prepared them to take us as soon as we got there. Bay Beach has done everything they possibly could and gave him a fighting chance. I feel relieved that there is a reliable emergency vet near me, that treated me with respect and urgency. Their work has made a difference in the outcome of this situation, and I will always be thankful to them. Read Less

We brought our dog in there because blood was coming out from every side of him. Needless to say we were terrified of what was going on with him. We got there at 6 am to wait around for over two hours and watch other animals that were not in critical condition or severely ill/hurt go in front of him. When I asked them about how much longer (as our dog is outside vomiting and pooping blood) I was greeted by a very rude receptionist who in lack of better terms told us to shove it and keep waiting. Even after explaining to her the situation again, I was still greeted with the same piss poor attitude. Needless to say we did not stay and took him to Banfield (which is just an amazing place and they fit us in ASAP. As soon as we walked through the door he was taken back to get blood drawn up.) So without any other words, screw this place. If you're pet needs immediate medical attention, DO NOT GO HERE. It isn't worth your time or your pets health. Read Less

Rest In Peace my sweet angel. Bay Beach Veterinary Hospital definitely made us feel like family. They took care of my girl until it was time to say our goodbyes. We were in and out for a couple months for different reasons. They called with results right away. There was no hidden cost because everything was written up and broken down so you could see all of the charges. I took Shelby to the regular vet, and they sent us home twice and said she's ok. Finally, she had a seizure and and I took her back to Bay Beach. They ruled out all they could, did several test, and unfortunately found cancer. They offered several options that I could consider. They were always there to answer any and all of the I had questions. They all made me feel like family because they new how hard this was and how much I cared about my baby. I had two vets, Gabrielle Mueller and Abigail Schmidt, they were truly a blessing for catching the cancer and caring for her the best they could. Dr. Schmidt was the one who put her to sleep, and she helped my family and myself through the whole thing, and was very compassionate towards Shelby. I felt that Shelby was in good hands with all of the loving assistants and vets. Sadly I couldn't bring my girl home for the second time, but I'm glad she had such a caring vet to lay her to rest. Took our boy here when he started vomiting. They did xrays to check for a blockage (he'll eat almost anything if he manages to find something) followed by bloodwork. Turns out his liver levels were WAY too high. (Either ingested a toxin, which I have no idea what that would be because I'm hypervigilant about making sure nothing is within his reach or contracted Leptospirosis, which is from the waste from common wildlife. He's been vaccinated for Lepto & had a booster but I was unaware the vaccine only covers 4 strains, not the other 40). He stayed with them 2 days & nights on fluids, bland diet, vitamin B, daily bloodwork, you name it. We took him home the 3rd evening. They sent us home with liver pills & instructions for his care. We'll be bringing him back this weekend for bloodwork to ensure his liver levels are still dropping & getting back to where they should be. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, educated, & understanding. They'll do their best to work with you on cost but as any of you with pets who've made a trip to the emergency vet know there are only so many corners you can cut without affecting the well-being of your furbaby. I truly wish I could give this "hospital" 0 stars. Over the weekend we brought our epileptic mastiff in with symptoms of a blockage of some sort. We were initially sent home with simply a nausea shot and indications that the vet who saw us simply thought we were overreacting. A few hours later, we decided to bring our boy back in. For a large breed, epileptic dog who was regurgitating multiple times in their office lobby, was clearly in pain, stressed, and dehydrated we waited almost 3 hours. We asked multiple times if he could just be seen briefly and put on fluids, but we were ignored and pushed to the side, with office staff rudely telling us that "They know you are here. You need to sit and wait." After they finally saw our boy and did X-rays, they determined he did indeed have a blockage, was likely in a lot of pain, and was severely dehydrated and needed to be put on fluids quickly (which we already had been trying to express), and needed a surgery as soon as possible if no changes were seen after rehydration. When we picked him up, there were extraneous charges on our bill that had to be removed, he was returned to us with caked diarrhea on his butt near his brand new surgical incision, and we were told that he had gone lame in all four legs due to how the IVs were placed. On top of this, the communication by the staff and vets was severely lacking, and often we were misinformed as to what was happening with our dog. The post-care instructions on the release forms also does not match up with what we were told verbally. I recommend that anyone avoid this callous "emergency vet" at any cost. The level of care for our dog and the lack of compassion and explanation to us was simply astonishing. We will be passing on these awful experiences to our own vet, as well as to any pet owners that we know in hopes that others can avoid the issues we had to go through. Read Less

Took my dog here after-hours for a torn dewclaw.  It needed to be trimmed off so it wouldn't catch on anything and maybe some cleaning.  I expected to pay more because of the time of night, 7 pm, but they sold me all kinds of things I didn't need.  Total overkill.  They said I needed a lampshade collar, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, huge bandages, and a plastic bootie.  When I got home and took off the mountain of bandages and plastic boot and saw what it really was, I was very upset.  Outrageous misuse of their power and my trust.  Cost was ridiculous.  It's places like this that make it so not everyone can afford a pet.  Also, the people that work the front desk and the assistants are rude and act self-important.  I would never recommend this place to anyone. About 2 years ago we rescued a 4 year old Pomeranian. He started acting really lethargic so we brought him to Bay Beach after hours as an emergency. The wait took forever (I remember because it was the lunar eclipse that night and my mom and I sat on their porch and watched it). When the results came in, the vet on duty told us that it was best to put him down because he had some blood condition that he wasn't going to get better from. My big, tough, unemotional stepdad broke down and cried right there in the lobby. I've never seen him cry over anything. Clearly, my parents weren't ready to say goodbye yet so we said we'll take him home. The vet on duty insisted we put him down as soon as possible because she didn't want us 'changing our minds' and thinking he'd be okay. She even gave us a card of a mobile pet euthanasia specialist who we could call to come to our house and do it. We took him home, added a complete supplement package to his food, and observed him closely over the next week, and now years later our dog IS ALIVE AND WELL. He bounces runs and plays like a little puppy. I don't remember who that vet was and it doesn't matter. I'm only posting this review of our experience to advise other owners not to euthanize their pets just because one vet may think it's right, and so hopefully the vets at this location will not be so quick to suggest euthanasia as the 'only solution' in the first place. Dr. Key is truly one of the greatest people I've ever met. Her level of compassion is unmatched and she is so incredibly intelligent. I cannot speak for the other doctors as I've only seen them one or two times for an emergency visit. Vet visits can sometimes be expensive but I have never felt that I was being "scammed" out of my money by paying for something that was not completely necessary. The waiting room is cozy, with free coffee and a TV. All vet techs have been great, and I love that they are open 24 hours. They misdiagnosed him the first time and told me he had debris in his ear and that the cytology showed no results. After two weeks of cleaning it out, I looked in and saw him ear was almost full of black discharge and rushed him back. They did another cytology and told me he had both yeast AND bacteria in his ear and I got sent home with antibiotics. I received a follow up call (nice) that I sadly missed. I called back to inform them he still had discharge and never received a call back (not nice). After 10 days and he still had discharge all over his ear.  I called to talk to somebody again to get some information and they told me without any concern for my dog that it had been 10 days I would need to either come in for another $$$ emergency visit or go to my vet. Would not recommend coming here as it seems to not yield any results and they staff are not willing to take the time and talk to you. Read Less

The ONLY reason I'm giving this veterinary hospital 2 stars and not 1 is because of the extremely nice, very personable receptionists at the front desk, and also because we all watched Shrek during the 3 hours I was waiting for my kitten to be seen. My cat, Luna, had an abscess under her chin that she had ripped open and because it was a Sunday night, we had to take her to the emergency vet. The nice ladies at the desk gave us some pain medication for her and that definitely calmed her down and made the wait easier. I totally understand having to wait after-hours at an emergency vet when it's the only place in town that's open! It's not the wait that bothered me. The vet that we saw was SO incredibly rude and insensitive I couldn't believe she had a job in the service industry working with people's PETS. She started off by interrogating me about my cat and how she could've gotten her abscess when I have literally no idea, she was a stray just 2 weeks before so the possible causes are extensive. She was basically accusing me of neglect and made me feel uncomfortable. At first I thought I was just being sensitive until I heard her speaking with another older woman about her cat and I couldn't believe how rude she was.. the older woman started crying! I even told the vet tech how rude this lady was because I was in SHOCK. I will NEVER ever bring her here again. I wish I could remember the name of the vet that worked there, I spent a good half hour looking for her name on our paperwork and on the internet but I had no luck. Read Less

I cannot say enough nice things about Bay Beach and Dr. Schmidt!  There is a stray cat that has been hanging around our neighborhood for the past couple of months, and as he appears to have been dumped, we have been feeding him. Tonight he came by for his nightly visit and had a swelling on the side of his face the size of a golf ball!  Being animal lovers, there was no way we could ignore it.We have used Blue Pearl before, but they can be really pricey and sometimes the wait can be long so we called Bay Beach. From the phone call, I could tell they were sensitive to our situation. She was so caring. We decided to bring the cat in. The front desk staff was so friendly!  Dr. Schmidt was also wonderful. She was kind to us and the cat during the examination. It was decided that the cat had an abscess that would need to be drained under sedation. They wrote up an estimate that seemed fair and we ok'd the procedure. Not only did we not have to wait long for the cat to be done, the final cost came out LESS than the low end of the estimate!!  You can't ask for more than that!  I HOPE we never need the services of an emergency vet again (but who am I kidding, we have three active dogs and now apparently 2 cats), but if we do, we'll head to Bay Beach. Thank you Dr. Schmidt and team! Read Less

Absolute worst experience of my entire life. Do not EVER bring your dog to this horrible establishment. Took my dog when I walked in never told me where or let me see her. Then preceded to make me feel like a horrible dog mom when I refused to pay $1300 up front when I didn't even know what was wrong with my dog. After telling them I was uncomfortable and wanted to take my dog elsewhere they continued to make me feel selfish for not letting them take care of her and trash talking the office down the road, which is 1000 times nicer. When I said I wanted to leave and to get my dog it took them 10 minutes to go get her for me. I ended up paying $80 for absolutely nothing. The staff is the worst I have ever come in contact with, if you care about your animal at all do not go here! Read Less

We had to bring our dog here the day after his neuter surgery because the incision popped open a little and we wanted to make sure it was fixed right away! We called first and the lady was very helpful and told us to go ahead and bring him in. So we did.  It was about an hour wait, not too horrible, and they fixed him up very quickly once we finally saw the vet. He ended up only needing to get it re-glued and some antibiotics. The whole trip took 2 hours total and now our little man will be kennel confined so he doesn't over exert himself and pop it open again! Read Less

Sunday afternoon my husband and I found ourselves at Bay Beach unexpectly with our 3 year old cat Olivia. Despite a packed waiting room (it was Sunday, so we expected this), they took Olivia back as soon as possible. Our story is not a happy one, after running all the necessary test we found out our sweet girl was in renial failure. The vet and vet techs (sorry I didn't remember names, I was in such a haze) handled our situation with complete compassion and consideration. Ultimately we had to make an extremely unexpected and gut wrenching decision to say goodbye to our girl. It took us over an hour to make this decision because we were in utter shock and trying to figure out if there was anything else we could do. The staff was patient and walked us through every scenario and question we had. Not once did we feel any kind of pressure or like we were being rushed through this horrific process. Olivia was treated kindly and with humility the entire time. Our hearts are broken but we didn't have the extra stress of a "business as usual" staff like other places in Hampton roads. As busy as they were, we felt like Olivia was the only one being treated. Today we received a hand written sympathy card in the mail. Thank you for your kindness. Read Less

I have used bay beach emergency for 3 years. In addition to my regular vet.  In fact last time I had 2 pizzas delivered to the staff after they providedEmergency cat care.  However, today they were inconsiderate of a very unique and  stressful situation.   Not only did I have an injured cat, but I had to get to the hospital to see a human patient urgently.    They would not allow me to drop off my sick kitty and allow me to go see my human patient.  They told me I could have someone come sit w the sick  cat.  I have no one.  Absolutely no one here that could do that.  I had to find another emergency vet and thankfully I did.  I will never, never, never use this callous, empathy lacking clinic again.   Occasionally one has to modify the rules. We came here for emergency vet services. The vet techs were very quick and got us taken care of quickly while also being very personable and warm. The waiting area is very comfortable and decorated like a beach house. Dr. Smithwick was caring, comforting and helped figure out what needed to be done to get our dog well again. They were very reasonable for the services that were provided. They kept us up to date while our dog was in their care. I've been taking my cat here since we moved here back in 08'. Never had any problems with this place. Well, except the parking sort of sucks. So I try to come on my very rare days off so Im not stuck sitting and talking people for spots during the busy times. Anyway, vet and vet tech wise-everyones great! Ive had some encounters with not so nice receptionists but yesterday was probably my best visit yet. The receptionist was an older lady who was so incredibly sweet! She came over to have a look at my cat and said, "Aww this big fella needs a bigger cat carrier!". "They have those!?" I asked. "Yes! We actually have some upstairs. Tons! Let me see if I can find one". She said, and left.In the middle of the exam she brought one in and I almost cried! It was so big and nice and SUCH an upgrade from what my cat was currently in. I didn't even THINK about him needed a bigger carrier. Im a terrible mom! Anyway, we traded carriers and on the ride home my cat curled up in the corner of it and slept the whole way. He has NEVER done that. He's always meowing and stressed out. I am beyond grateful for the staff here! They know what they are doing, they accommodate us to the best of their abilities and my vet gave me SO much valuable information yesterday. I don't see myself going anywhere else. What would be awesome though is if they had a service where we could make our own appointments online and choose our own vets. And if we could see our pets chart. Also if we could get text/email reminders about our scheduled vet visit, like how they do at the dentist. I feel that the dentist is always using the most up to date types of technology to ensure we come in for our visits and stay on schedule. I'd love the same to keep track of my pets health! The veterinarians and staff have been taking care of my little princess for the past few years. They have been honest with her medical treatment and wellness care. At each visit, they inform me step-by-step of her care and options. I have learned that there are a few vaccines and medications that are not absolutely necessary, resulting in some savings. It is easy scheduling same-week appointments. The front porch and waiting area are spacious, and there is even a separate waiting area for cats. The exam rooms are also clean and spacious. There is plenty of parking, grassy outdoors to potty and it is a stand-alone clinic. I have noticed that some of the veterinarians have came from nearby clinics, which seems to be a good move. This was a horrible experience. Please go somewhere else in an emergency! Our dog needed surgery to remove an obstruction from his intestines. When we arrived to drop him off, the lady at the front desk refused us because we didn't have a referral. For whatever reason they didn't get to referral from our regular vet. Once we gave them our copy of the paperwork, they were noticeably warmer and immediately accepted our dog. The next day we went to visit our dog after surgery. When we walked in, four women were sitting at the front desk talking and watching a movie. It took 20 minutes for them to bring our dog out to us. I figured they had taken our dog outside to use the bathroom before bringing him to us and that was maybe what was taking so long. When our dog was brought to us, we were also given a plate of food (canned chicken and some kibbles) and told our dog had been refusing to eat. We tried to feed our dog and he refused the food. Then we noticed he was sitting by the door, which is the signal for needing to use the bathroom. We took him outside where he took an extra long pee and poop. It was obvious no one had taken him to relieve himself in HOURS. Upon going back inside, he immediately began to eat the chicken. As we were leaving, a lady ran out into the parking lot and told us we needed to go buy canned chicken for our dog to eat. At first, I thought she was joking. Then, she went on to say that they had run out of chicken and since that was clearly what our dog wanted to eat, we needed to go buy more. Oh, and she also said we needed to buy chocolate as well. Chocolate? Seriously?! My husband and I stood in the grocery store debating whether or not to actually buy the chocolate. However, we were concerned that our dog would be ignored even more if we did not buy the chocolate, so we got it along with cans of chicken. Upon our dog's discharge, it was noted that the place on his arm where the IVs were was still bleeding and needed the bandage needed to stay on longer. By the time we got home, the bandage had been wrapped so tightly that his circulation had been cut off and his paw was double normal size. I'm completely disgusted by our experience at Bay Beach and next time will go to Blue Pearl in the case of an emergency. I'd advise you to do the same! Read Less

2 of our dogs had been treated successfully by Bay Beach for emergency visits.  When 1 of our dogs showed the same symptoms that put him in the hospital, we called Bay Beach and he front desk person very bluntly refused services due to a non-compete clause.  Prior to this, we had referred several friends to Bay Beach and are now regular clients.  The staff member said that because we had put a primary vet (we only saw twice prior) on the paperwork that her hands are tied and became frustrated when we asked more questions.  She put us on hold and someone else came on the line and remained just as problem focused and said that there was nothing that they would do.  When we asked to escalate the issue and to speak to who was in charge, the staff member said no.  After addressing this comment and asking "did you really just tell a customer flat out no?" She sarcastically said- "ok, sure... I'll have her call you".Today, we received a letter (no phone call) that stated that Bay Beach is not only refusing our daytime services, but also all emergency services!  I have never experienced such rude and amateurish service and I am truly disappointed and embarrassed that we referred anyone there.  Their methods of handling difficult situations is cowardice and unappreciated.  I would strongly advise against using Bay Beach if you value good customer service. We had to have a pet put down this weekend and we are disappointed in the help we received. The doctor and techs that helped during the process did an excellent job but how we were greeted and questioned when we got there really made the process worse than it should have been. When we arrived I told the desk clerk that it was time to have our pet down. She responded by sating, "Why is it his time," and after I explained everything she responded by saying, "Well, a doctor needs to see him," and she didn't make any effort at all to get out of her chair to look at the pet. Now, I understand that they are not just going to put a pet down for any and all reasons and they need to ask some questions, however, there was no empathy, no compassion and no tact at all in how she was questioning us. When we walked in it was obvious my wife had been crying and she started again just because of how this clerk was talking to us. A simple statement to the effect of, "I'm sorry to hear that, what is wrong with the pet," would have made a world of difference. Thankfully another staff member was at the desk and recognized that this was distressing my wife and took some action to help. While we were able to stay with our pet during the actual euthanasia, we were separated from him and left in the lobby for about 15 minutes while they prepped him. We really would have liked to have stayed with our pet the entire time but I accept that different hospitals have different procedures. But what made it worse was that the same clerk who greeted us so poorly brings us our pet's collar while we are sitting in the lobby. We thought we should have been able to remove it or at least that should have been done in private. And while I admit we may have already been jaded about the clerk who brought it to us, we found her attempt at small talk to be very cold and impersonal and there was still no show of sympathy for what we were going through. Needless to say I don't know if we will return to Bay Beach should we ever have to put another pet down. Unfortunately the memory of our lost pet is marred with this experience and we don;t know if we will want to take the chance of that happening again. Thank you to the staff that did treat us nicely and treated us and our pet with compassion. Read Less

The second night we had her home we had to take her back and they had to remove the stitches from the side of her mouth and clean it up. Ok, so as far as I know, this is the only after hours place you can take your furry, scaly or whatever live warm or cold friend. It was a Sunday when I had to bring my dog in because of an injury to his eye and they immediately said to come over and bring him in. They have a small parking lot, but no one was there so I marched right in. The staff was kind, but despite me being the only person there, it still took 45 min before I could be seen. Luckily my dog wasn't bleeding profusely. I would assume that if my animal were going into shock they would move a little quicker, but let's hope it never comes to that. They looked at him, gave me the meds and sent me along the way. No complaints here besides the wait time. For being the only emergency place in the area they get an extra star and minus 2 stars for making me wait. They have a nice little garden where you can walk your dog outside. They also have a ramp if your pet is unable to walk stairs. Read Less

Read Less

I often am able to get appointments within 48 hours and the wait time is never long. I recommend Bay Beach to everybody, and you could not pay me to switch vets, my pets deserve top notch care and that is exactly what they provide here. Read Less

I am new to town and have come here 2 times now as my dog has been experiencing nonstop ear problems. Read Less

A little bit of confusion from the front desk regarding the Care Credit:MasterCard arrangement which led to a short lived tense moment between me and the administrative assistant running the numbers but in the end it all worked out.The doctors are patient, caring, professional and excellent at what they do. The discharge consultation with a tech and the discharge paperwork detailing the meds, doses, and recommended time to administer said meds was comprehensive and clear.

We called first and the lady was very helpful and told us to go ahead and bring him in. So we did.  It was about an hour wait, not too horrible, and they fixed him up very quickly once we finally saw the vet. He ended up only needing to get it re-glued and some antibiotics. Read Less

Read Less

If I had my choice I wouldn't have taken my dog here, but I was on vacation when the place that was boarding her had to take her here because of an emergency. Petsmart had brought my dog here as she was attacked while being boarded with them. She was bitten in three different places. Upon our arrival back to petsmart to pick up our dog, they told us that if we had any issues during the night to bring her back to Bay Beach and they will be able to assist us and that Petsmart was picking up the tab and we were to not pay anything. The second night we had her home we had to take her back and they had to remove the stitches from the side of her mouth and clean it up. They were going to give us some stuff to take home, but we were going to have to pay out of pocket for the stuff, I looked at the lady an told her that I was  not as Petsmart told us they were picking up the tab and we were to not pay anything. Needless to say we left there without the meds and went to a emergency vet that was close to our home and loved the people there. Petsmart ended having to pay twice as much for the visit because of the lack of communication with them an Bay Beach. Never again would I take my dog to this place. Read Less

My friend and I were at the Bay Beach Veterinary hospital last night with her little Dachshund that isn't doing well. I had recommended them to her because of my experience with them with my Dachshund in 2013. I just had to write a note to express my appreciation of the Staff and Vet. They were so kind and considerate of her needs, both the dog and her owner. Please keep up the good work, I like knowing that you guys are there if I need you. I will spread the word of just how nice you guys are!!!!! Debbie Guynn Read Less

I'm quite satisfied with this vet office. Bogey has been going there since he was a pup. Everyone is very friendly. Setting up appointments are easy. To my luck, Bogey comes home with a bill of good health each time. They were very easy to work with when Bogey was hit by a car five years ago. (I had to transfer him to another doc for the surgery.) It was a traumatic experience to say the least but the people at this office years ago were so helpful.Bogey did a little showing off last year and when we had our appointment today ,y vet even remembered Bogey and all his little tricks and shenanigans. She remembered that Bogey knew to get the treat on his nose at the count of three. Perhaps the note was written in his file but it was nice that she jumped into the room and immediately talked about how Bogey did cute tricks for her last year.Overall, a great facility and I fully intend to continue doing business with these folks. Read Less
