I chose this place to switch the vet because of the good reviews. First, I filled out an online registration form to get 50% off initial exam fee, but I did not get it.Secondly they had to put a muzzle on my GSD due to his bite history, which was no problem. They had to do what they had to do. What I could not stand was the waiting time after taken to the exam room. My dog has an anxiety issue so he took anti-anxiety med prior to the visit. As soon as we were taken to the exam room, he was put a muzzle, which made him so tense and more anxious. The problem was that Dr. Johnson did not come to the room for the next 15 min. My dog kept panting the whole time, having a hard time breathing because he could not breath through his mouth because of the muzzle. Foam was coming out between his mouth and muzzle and my jeans were all wet because he was trying to wipe off his mouth/take off the muzzle with my thighs. That was nothing but torture. I felt I was abusing him. This was so wrong doing. If a muzzle had to be used, all my dog needed was a speedy treatment, not a 15 min. wait. After the doctor's treatment (about another 20-30 min), my dog was finally off the muzzle. He was not even offered water...what a place. Does this place really put animals first? I did not see it.As of pricing, I agree what others say. It is expensive comparing to other vets. Nail trim, intestinal parasite, ear swab, they were all charged/asked double comparing to what I used to pay. This is not a complaint, though, I am just saying the fact. Also because it's expensive, I wished Dr's diagnosis and treatment were right on spot on the first time for my dog's ear infection, but on the second visit, which was suppose to be its followup, turned out as the second diagnosis and his infection became worse. What was worse was that the medication Dr wanted to prescribe was out and it was not available for the next 4days. Then there was the next followup was scheduled 3 days later, which I canceled. At this point, I just knew I had to take my dog to somewhere else. I live by myself and I have one job. I cannot afford to keep paying for followups like this.If you say "highest treatment possible," you need to bring the outcome with no waisting time. From seeing Dr. Johnson twice, he seemed very thorough and dedicated to what he wants to do, and that was my impression. Yet he lacks to try to communicate/bond his patient (my dog). He did not want to learn anything about my dog to get to know him better, which was sad, I thought. GSD are very intelligent dogs and they sense if they are accepted or not, they remember how they are treated, and they know why they are put a muzzle on them. From observing the entire visits on those two occasions and disagreeing on how they run their location, I had to do what I had to do. Read Less
