Took my American Pit Bull Terrier Jennifer to Hilltop Vet Clinic recently to have her euthanized because she had cancer. The staff and vet were extremely sweet and gentle with Jen. I was touched when they brought a large blanket into the room for Jen to lie on so she would be more comfortable as she was on the floor. I was never rushed. They told me to let them know when I was ready which allowed me to spend as much time as I wanted with my girl. I remained with Jen through the entire procedure. She crossed over peacefully and I was able to stay with her afterwards until I was ready to leave. I want to thank the tech and the vet for being so caring, gentle and loving with my precious girl. She will be dearly missed. Read Less

It is never easy to lose a member of the family. During that time all we could hope for was that Jen and you (her family) were as comfortable as you could be. Thank you for the kind words about your experience with us even though it was under this circumstance.

The best experience we could've asked for! We came in with our newly adopted pup with no clue about his previous vaccination records. The staff was extremely helpful in walking us through what was necessary for our pup to ensure he is as healthy as can be. Even after we had that figured out, they were patient with our boy who is not a fan of being touched or held onto by stranger. At the end, we paid a very fair price for the services and scheduled a follow up. We received many "nice to meet you!"s and "welcome to hilltop".  They've earned our respect and business. Thank you! We have been bringing our puppy Gizmo every since we adopted him from rescue center on  Birdneck Rd. Well puppy boy isn't such a puppy anymore, he is now a Pitt Bull- Dalmatian mix that has created a dirt race track in our back yard! And at 71 pounds of pure solid muscle, hubby is usually the only one that is strong enough to walk him on a leash without losing his arm! LOL.......but with us being self employed and hubby traveling out of state, it takes a team of people to get Gizmo into Veternary clinic or to be groomed! Yeah! He may not be the smartest dog we ever had, but he wants to protect when hubby is out of town. Please us with 3 simple tricks, and get all of the loves that he can! This is where the Veternary clinic comes in handy. It may not be the most beautiful animal clinic, it looks like it was once a Mexican restaurant that has been converted into a Veternary Clinic, which saves money for us in the long run for annual animal exams, which can be helpful when hubby is out of town. Because they realize his anxiety level and help me out because he is so strong. So yeah! I kinda like this place. Read Less

I am very greatful for this clinic because they squeezed in another appointment for my dog who needed to be immediately seen on July third after they closed. I will say, however, this place is expensive, and the vets always recommend treatments and services that are expensive first, and I don't see the level of compassion and love for the animals that I would like to see. It seems like they are more interested in running a business than being there for the animals and the love of them. Read Less

Ok, so I'm glad I waited to write this until after my follow up, because I would have given a higher rating initially than they deserved. Took 2 small dogs in about 2 weeks ago (I was a first time client, my dogs just moved back to the states with me a couple months ago). It was my intention to stock up on some medicine, get general check ups, and have one of my dog's ears checked because it had been bothering her. Bill for the first appointment was $357, which I was totally fine with given that I had quite a bit done and also bought a supply of meds. At the end of my first appointment, the doctor told me she wanted to see my little girl dog back in 2 weeks to check her ear to ensure that the medicine had worked on her ear infection. At that time I didn't pay that any mind, and nothing else was said about it. Today I went back for that follow up. The assistant starts with us in the room with a weight check and a few quick questions about how she's doing and if she did well with the medicine, she did nothing with my dogs ears at all (which I expected only the vet would do). She leaves and the vet quickly arrives, a couple quick questions from her, she looks in both ears, comments that the dog could use a couple more days of the cream in her ear to make sure the swelling is gone, asks me if I have any other questions or concerns and wishes me well. Total time in the office with the assistant/vet was maybe 6-7 minutes. I go out to the lobby, expecting that maybe they would try to get me to set up the next appointment for the dogs. After a minute or two, the woman behind the counter tells me my total would be $35.00..... It took everything I had to not be really upset. At no point during my first visit when they said I needed to come back did they mention that there would be another fee at all for this follow up that lasted less than 10 minutes, much less that this fee that I didn't know existed would be $35.00. I feel as though I have been mislead, and that they were not really transparent. I feel like if you mention a follow up like it is some very small and not inconvenient thing (again, it took around 6/7 minutes), you need to inform your client that not only will there be a fee for those couple of minutes, but that the fee will be $35.00. Obviously they are free to charge what they'd like, but the fact that I was not informed that I would be paying over $5 per minute for my next appointment which yielded no new information or value for me or my dog makes me feel completely misled. I obviously expected them to charge a fee for the time, and even though I personally disagree with the amount of the fee for this, I would not have been upset had I been informed at least that there would be a fee ahead of time. You lost an opportunity to create a lifetime customer who will need vet services in the future after recently moving back to the area, I will never return here in the future. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Lacking transparency and integrity in the way you communicate information to clients. Read Less

If I could Give them no stars I would. My brother adopted a puppy from a foster home and brought her here for a check up and routine vaccinations a few days later. He brought her in specifically because she was coughing and seemed under the weather although still active. She saw Dr. Cisco. The puppy had a cough and the doctor said it was just kennel cough and didn't do any other investigation. Come a few days later the dog is refusing to eat and drink, lethargic, and coughing even more and struggling to breathe. We bring her to a new vet who immediately knew she had pneumonia. He took x-rays and her lungs and chest were COMPLETELY FULL of fluid. Her blood work was HORRIBLE. It was truly as bad as a pneumonia can get. We had to go to a 24/7 hospital ICU where she will be treated aggressively with oxygen and IV antibiotics and she still may not pull through. This is all costing thousands of dollars because Dr. Cisco failed to examine the dog properly. The vet at the ICU said that she most likely had pneumonia when the dog was adopted and definitely had pneumonia when she was seen by Dr. Cisco because pneumonia like this has festered. If you value your pets life I urge you not to go to this clinic. Read Less

With the one stellar review and the office's convenient location, I made the worst decision ever to go to Hilltop Veterinary Clinic. My cat was losing weight at an alarming rate, along with other scary symptoms. At the time, my boyfriend and I were living paycheck to paycheck, but scraped enough together to get Frank (my Siamese) the help he so desperately needed. Upon walking into the facility, I felt I'd made a mistake. It was dark, dank and odorous. The waiting room and parking lot were empty, but it took some time before I could see the vet. The physical exam yielded nothing. She asked to do a blood panel, which I - of course - agreed to despite its steep price.  I was told it would take close to a week for results. She also wanted to do a urinalysis, but I would have to procure the sample (which I still have no idea how I would have done that).  In a week, the vet called to say that the blood results showed nothing, and I should consider further testing. This exam/tests cost close to $400. We had to save again for more tests. When we had saved, I opted not to return to Hilltop Vet, but change to Beach Pet Hospital. The vet was able to diagnose the cancer in my cat within 5 minutes, run the blood tests AND GET RESULTS in office, perform an ultrasound to confirmation the diagnosis, and provide my cat with his first treatment in one visit - all for less than the "big question mark" first visit at Hilltop. I strongly recommend Bet Pet Hospital - my cat is gaining weight, isn't presenting with other symptoms, and I owe it all to Beach Pet Hospital. Save money, anxiety and potential heartache - DO NOT GO TO THIS VET! Read Less

Read Less
