Definitely do not recommend unless you want some basic Google information handed to you. Dr Silverstone is highly incompetent and unworthy of being a certified veterinarian. He hardly knows the basics of veterinary work including puppy care. He was tasked with performing a c section. As a breeder new to the area I asked him if he was capable of performing such duties and him and his staff were all smiles and full of lies. They had never performed a c section as a “team”. One of his employees stated that was his second c section.... but yet he told me he was confident and had done numerous before. I received a call from Cris (front desk receptionist) informing me that I had 6 puppies delivered and we were all relieved. However, when we arrived we were quickly rushed to the back of the surgical room- NEVER had that happened before!! To our horror were 4 dead perfectly healthy fully developed puppies and 2 puppies barely clinging to life. I quickly noticed just how cold the room was.... BASIC neonatal knowledge, cold=lethal for newborn puppies. Not to mention the dam (mother) extremely out of it! With a c section stitches that were unbelievably horrid! Never had I had to carry our dog after a c section out of a room before. We rushed the 2 puppies home and immediately placed them in our heated room and cleaned out their lungs as they still had fluid in them smh We paid a HEFTY lesson and vet bill.... which makes NO sense considering Dr Silverstone did not perform the task assigned at all up to par. In fact, he should be ashamed and embarrassed considering I have asked him if he could at least give me a discount. The LEAST he could have done. He ignored my 2 messages. I shall now take the issue online and hope no one takes their beloved pets to him. There are FAR better CERTIFIED VETERINARIANS. Unfortunately, I trusted the wrong one to actually be there for our family. Instead he charged us over $3000 that week in vet bills and killed 4 living beautiful creatures. He has no heart and no knowledge. He should definitely be investigated and license questioned. This wasn’t his first failure with us. His first was when he refused to x Ray (thank goodness because they are expensive$300+) on one of our other girls. I told him she was 46 days pregnant but wanted an x Ray to confirm. He insisted on using a heart detecting Doppler ($90) which he stated she wasn’t pregnant .... after the failed c section with our other girl I went in for a second “opinion” (more like just a vet that listens to their clients and did and x Ray $75) and it showed that she was carrying puppies!!! I’m sure those that gave him good reviews just had their pet weighed and basic google info thrown at them as he wears a phony smile real well. I hope if they continue to go to him that it’s not for anything serious. Good luck. Pictured are the 4 puppies he killed due to malpractice. You’re beloved pet and you are nothing but a paycheck for his bills. Read Less

I first came here to get my ferrets their vaccinations and was very pleased with Dr. Silverstone. He handled them very well and was gentle when giving them their shots. However, I just recently noticed a large tumor on one of their tails and called to set up an appointment which happened to be on my payday. Something happened with my paycheck (completely out of my control) so my mother lived out of state and offered to pay for it so I could take my baby to her appointment. I called to ask if they took payments over the phone and the situation I was in and was immediately cut off and was rudely told that no they don't take payments over the phone because of issues in the past. Okay I get it stuff happens but at least don't be rude to me about whatever had happened and then expect me to reschedule an appointment here with that attitude. I won't be returning just because this is a serious situation for my ferret and I want this whole process to be stress free and smooth and unfortunately I just had a bad vibe after talking to the receptionist. I am now taking my baby elsewhere so she can get the proper treatment ASAP and it can be paid for over the phone without putting me in a bad financial situation. It's a shame because as it said Dr.Silverstone was great the first time I went and I would have liked to given my ferret under his care but I also want to feel comfortable and welcome before I even get to his practice. Dr. Andrew Silverstone and his V.A. Toni took excellent care of my Maine Coon cat Caramel until he left me because of liver failure. My Caramel could not have been in better hands, and never was an expensive treatment suggested when it was obvious it would not work. Dr. Silverstone and Toni both came out of their respective offices to my seat in their waiting room and talked to me with kindness and, at times, with humor. I absolutely loved that. Should I be blessed enough to get another pet, I will be returning for more of their excellent care. If you see any negative review of this veterinary service, please read it with the knowledge that sometimes things are written in misunderstanding and grief and please know that I never had anything even approaching a negative experience here, nor did I ever witness one. First of all, I just moved here to Va Beach, and am looking for a new Vet to bring my baby to. I WILL NEVER BRING MY DOG HERE........So, i recently found out that Interceptor is back market and called these people to find out if they had it. The lady on the phone RUDELY told me that it is NOT back and tried to sell me something else. When I told her i talked to my regular vet(as we were good friends) from back home, and he told me that Interceptor was back, and he had it in stock, it was just a little more expensive than before, she hung the phone up!! Unbelievable. Some of us, who want to prevent ticks, and other parasites(Sentinel doesnt) use Advantix II, and Interceptor for Heartworm preventative. When Interceptor left the shelves we had to use Heartguard, which IMO isnt as good as Interceptor.Read Less

I love Animal Care Clinic and their staff. From day one they have taken an active interest in my two dogs, Luci and Chloe. In 2009 I had a family tragedy occur out in CA. Had it not been for Animal Care Clinic stepping in and assisting me with boarding my two dogs, I would not have made it home to CA to be with my family. Each member of the staff knows my dogs' temperments which I feel aids in better treatment. In fact, Chloe (my husky who has been going to Animal Care Clinic from day 1) loves visiting the clinic, and truly enjoys the attention she gets from the staff. If you see any negative review of this veterinary service, please read it with the knowledge that sometimes things are written in misunderstanding and grief and please know that I never had anything even approaching a negative experience here, nor did I ever witness one. I wholeheartedly recommend the services of Veterinary Hospital of Virginia Beach, Dr. Silverstone, and Veterinary Assistant Toni.Read Less

Thank you for everything you do for us! Read Less
