Late one night, our dog was displaying odd behavior and looked like she was in pain. Our regular vet's answering service referred us to the Animal Emergency Center (AEC), which is only open at night when regular vets are usually closed. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our dog to be seen (she wasn't in imminent danger) because another family was ahead of us. The emergency vet working that night was super...very professional, great with our dog, friendly with us, and happy to answer all of our questions. He examined our dog, snapped an x-ray, and was able to figure out what was wrong, administer an immediate treatment, prescribe us a week's worth of medication, and give us info to care for our dog's condition. He faxed the details of our visit to our regular vet (Toano Animal Clinic), which made it easy to follow-up with them.The AEC was clean, comfortable, and looked equipped to handle a variety of animal medical situations. Our bill was not cheap (about $280 for the assessment, x-ray, two shots, and prescription), but we were okay with paying it. They do accept certain pet medical plans, but otherwise you have to pay everything that night (they don't bill). The AEC has a website where you can get more info on their services, etc.. Read Less
