Animal Medical Care Center

Yorktown, Virginia
General Info
Animal Medical Care Center helps Yorktown families take care of their multiple pets by earning their trust and providing precise veterinary support in Virginia. During the first visit, veterinarians analyze the information regarding each pet’s past behavior and any recent changes, as well as its role in the household. The technique looks at a specific characteristic of the pet’s body and behavior, namely, body posture, ear and eye clarity, skin and coat condition, hydration levels, walking style, and behavior toward humans or other animals. Even seemingly non-specific symptoms like mild coughing or low appetite, which might be overlooked in multi-pet households, are taken seriously. Animal Medical Care Center offers tailored wellness planning, diagnostics, and surgical consultations while overseeing weight tracking, dental maintenance, and preventive scheduling. Care plans are staged to fit around owner logistics and pet personalities by either reducing the number of visits or combining more than one procedure per visit as needed. Households handling new adoptions, age-related slow-downs, or travel schedules find these routines realistic. Clinic personnel assist families understand the available options by presenting information in a simple and non-overwhelming way. Each appointment and follow-up has a built-in communication structure that enables owners to ask questions at any point. Animal Medical Care Center seeks to assist Yorktown households and other nearby Virginia areas in setting up veterinary practices within their homes that align with how the pets live their lives and ensure pets communicate appropriately. Services offered by the Animal Medical Care Center include spay/neuter, dental care, surgery, nutritional counseling, wellness exams, vaccinations and grooming. Thanks to this assortment, Yorktown and nearby area-based pet owners can easily access the diverse services offered at the facility. Dr. Valerie D. Clance assures Yorktown residents of her facility’s dedication to helping their pets throughout all stages of life in order for them to be healthy and comfortable.

I have a 3 year old dog that I rescued from a shelter at 9 months old. I have been working with Dr. Scrack to find the right medicine to treat her severe anxiety and I am very pleased with his willingness to listen and understand our challenges. He has been a lifesaver for our family. Unfortunately, I brought my dog in for a routine update to get her up Bordetella and a fecal test and we did not see Dr. Scrack but instead Dr. Bross came in to see me looking very unpleasant. She was very rude...she didn't seem interested in listening or understanding why my dog is on meds but rather stormed in the room and said "Your dog is on a lot of medicine." I began to explain the situation and she interrogated me regarding my pet owner skills. Needless to say, I told her I didn't appreciate a lecture and she pracically threw my prescription at me and stormed out of the room. I paid $170 that day for that visit. I intend to keep coming to see Dr. Scrack but I refuse to ever deal with a judgemenral, rude vet who obviously didn't take the time to review her colleague's notes or do research on the disorder my dog has. I hope the owner will take appropriate action.Read Less
