My experience here with my beloved dog, Gypsy, has been one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. I brought my dog here for an emergency c-section at a cost of $3800. The following day, I noticed Gypsy had not eaten anything so immediately called and was told "We only have one doctor, so you can't bring her here. You can take her to another vet though." This was very shocking to me because I had just paid this veterinarian $3800 the day before. So, I then reached out to other vets with zero luck since it was Sunday. Later that evening, and into Monday morning, Gypsy's breathing began to slow down, and I stood over her while she took her last breath. I frantically began calling Peninsula Referral Center (PRC). The same girl from before answered and I informed her what happened and that I was panicking. She casually told me, "I told you to bring her in yesterday." This was a flat out lie in an attempt to cover for herself. This lie broke my heart and made me feel like it was my fault, which it wasn’t. Per my request, I was later contacted by the office manager, Karin Fary. Karin immediately took a defensive approach. I told her what happened, and that the girl I talked to had lied to me about telling me to bring her in. She then began to offer one excuse after another as to why she was not responsible, and implied that it was my fault because I "refused a full blood panel before surgery to save money." That was a lie. She also kept repeating the phrase, "well, services were rendered." I was not happy at all with my conversation with her and she then informed me that she would set up a meeting with the board members and get back to me. She finally contacted me a week later. After talking with her, she informed me that she listened to the phone calls and her response was, "well, our front desk told you that you can go somewhere else when you called with concern about Gypsy." And she said because of that, she will not be refunding the money. I explained to her that was unacceptable to deny service after I just spent nearly 4 grand the day before. Not to mention how crooked and immoral it is to charge so much money for a service, and then not be available for care if there are complications afterwards. Karin kept explaining over and over, "well services were rendered, and you were told to go somewhere else, so it's not our fault." I told her again, this is unacceptable. At this point, she AGAIN said she would set up a meeting with the board. This was after she had already told me she would set up a meeting but failed to do so. A week later, Karin informed me that the board concluded they did nothing wrong and that they are not required to give emergency care to a dog just because they performed surgery on that dog the day before. She said Gypsy died from something completely unrelated to the services they provided. I explained to her that it was morally wrong for turning away Gypsy in her time of need. Again, she said "well, our office did tell you that you can take her elsewhere." PRC and its 5 board members care about one thing, money. My experience with this place has been truly devastating. If you are experiencing a life/death emergency regarding your pet, PLEASE take them somewhere else. The reason I say life/death emergency is because I'm sure in some minor cases, the veterinarians here can provide adequate care to a certain extent which could explain some of the positive reviews. However, PLEASE see all the negative reviews. They all have the same theme and have tactfully crafted responses from the office manager, Karin Fary. At no point does Karin ever acknowledge any wrongdoing on behalf of her company, and has zero accountability. A company with good values will acknowledge mistakes and make it right. You will not find that here. Attached is a picture of Gypsy 2 days before visiting PRC. She was pregnant and happy and running around the yard. The other is from New Years Eve a couple months ago. I wish I would have known it was my last New Year's with her. Read Less

This place has gone down hill in the last year. I have never been asked to stand out side or had an issue when I came here 6 months ago with my service dog. Due to not being able to wear a mask I was just escorted into a room and I was spoken to by the doctor in the room and was treated like every other client, properly updated on what was going on and able to keep my dog with me during the process as she was not critical and I do need her with me. When I noticed my dog had suddenly developed a cough and was breathing heavily after vomiting earlier that day, I went straight there as I was concerned she had aspiration pneumonia. When arriving, the receptionist refused me entry to the building, took my dog to the back to be evaluated. No body would even come out to tell me what was going on, just the receptionist telling me the doctor and staff refuse to come out to speak to me because I cannot wear a mask. After an hour with still no sight of my dog, and no update on how she was doing or what was going on, I experienced a sudden anxiety attack, compounded by low blood sugar and became very agitated and confused. The constant dialog over a phone they brought out, that kept cutting out, with the third party that drove me there mostly involved that the doctor will not speak with me without a mask, still no word on the vitals and status of my partner continued to further send me into a panic. I continued to ask what her vitals and oxygen saturation was and if she needed oxygen supplementation, I got an answer, after multiple requests for this information, of the vitals are normal except for a fever of 103. I asked to see her if she was not in oxygen, and got no response, except if you want to come in and see her or talk to the doctor you have to wear a mask. The receptionist kept saying this was a law, however it is not, as the mandate clearly states if a person has a medical reason the are exempt. I asked why the doctor would not come out to speak to me concerning my dogs care, I was told she was too busy to come to the door, but I watched the other clients speaking with the doctor in the room that was literally 5 steps from the front door. Another 45 min went by and they then just brought her back to me, looking worse than when I gave her to them, and stated the would not treat her because I could not wear a mask and the doctor will not talk to any one without a mask, and refused to come to the door. The staff and doctors here do not seem to care concerning the well being of the patients the treat or the families that bring them in, and sent us gong to yet another hospital. At this point I was in a crisis and so shaky and confused I was unable to drive at all, thankfully I had brought a second person to drive. These people were more concerned on drilling me over my medical issues and a mask than they did sending any one to inform me on my dogs condition, and treating my dog. The icing on this cake is the when the person with me (I brought them in case I had a crisis due to my dog being ill and not able to work) was then told they refused to treat a dog that had pneumonia due to the medical crisis I was having in the parking lot, that was exacerbated by the stress of the refusal to communicate with me at all. Was told my dog needed emergency surgery to live. This was after we waited almost 3 hours. We asked for our dog back. When we got home we realized they didn't even take out the I.V. port from our dog's hind leg. Also, our dog had multiple needle sticks (failed I.V starts) and a bruise in the shape of a thumb on one of it's legs. Which we have photos of. This is unacceptable and we are going to file a report. The staff was condescending, unprofessional and lacked communication from the beginning to the end. We told them it was our first time there and received unprofessional customer service. Each time we asked a question seemed to bother the staff and would be answered in a condescending tone. When the student took us to the exam room she was not compassionate, she seemed annoyed and her questioning was implying fault towards us. We left and went to another vet and our dog is recovering well with out the emergency surgery. Read Less

I have been to PEVC twice. The wait is long, but that's because they're busy and they have to do triage. That's the only major thing that could use improvement--but it does not by any means diminish what they did for my dog (or my family). The tech (I don't remember her name) on my first visit was a bit sarcastic and cut me off when I was trying to explain what I thought had made my dog sick. I have, however, found her to be the exception to the rule. I have a Lab/Newf mix. He's huge. The bills for him have been very reasonable based on his size. They are helpful if you file insurance paperwork and have information about plans/payment assistance on site. There was some confusion about they way they explained the cost estimate, this last time, but in the end the cost has always been lower than they told me it could be. The vets are up-front when you have multiple options on the table and will try to save you money when they think the cheaper option is safe for your pet. All of the treatment my dog needed, this most recent visit--and it was a lot of treatment--came out to less than $3,500. This second visit, just this week, resulted in an extraction surgery. The entire way through the process, they were supportive and accomodating. My furbaby is still young and can be a little rambunctious so they put us in the small waiting room by ourselves. They kept him overnight to monitor, rehydrating him because he'd thrown up a lot and trying to get the blockage to pass. They called to update me in the morning and recommended an ultrasound to make sure what the blockage was caused by before performing a potentially pointless surgery. This gave them the information they needed. In the end, their approach caught and solved the issue before he had any long-term damage to his bowel and with minimal cutting. Before they took him into surgery and a few hours after his surgery, they called and gave us the opportunity to visit him in a separate room from the main lobby. At every step in the process, a vet called me to make sure I knew what was going on. When he got anxious and started barking--a risk to his sutures--they made sure he got an anxiety med to help. I felt that the staff genuinely cared about my dog. They remarked on his personality at various points and petted him. So far, he's in excellent shape. If I didn't know to look for an incision, I wouldn't even notice the staples. It's small and could have been closed by a plastic surgeon, it's so neat and clean. I could not be happier with the care my dog received from Drs. Frickey and Conyers. This was a frightening situation and the entire staff was understanding when I wasn't at my best and nicest. Thank Gd for this clinic. Read Less

We lost our beloved dog on Jan 8.  Since then I have wanted to write a note to the Vet who was amazing and today is that day.  Unless I tell him, he will never know how his abilities as a vet joined with his compassion as a human being aided us in our hour of need.  This Vet is Dr. Mitchell. The system as a whole seemed good and this particular vet is the best vet we have ever encountered.  I guess we were a bit lucky that he was working and our dog was seen by him.  I do not know the  others  on staff.  Dr. Mitchell was so smart in his diagnoses and he knew that our dog was dying.  He tried to convey to us the gravity of the situation without taking away every shred of hope. Somehow he achieved this fine line.  I have never experienced a human doctor who could achieve this level of compassion along with objectivity.  He stayed hours beyond his work day so that when we returned we would not have to meet someone else to deal with our pet's loss.  They provided a place for us to see our sweet dog and a cute pet blanket and some privacy.  Our 11.5 dog had pneumonia from aspirating vomit . He was in a great facility receiving oxygen and comfort trying to beat it. The odds were against him but Dr. Mitchel was willing to try.  We were prepared for one of two diagnoses that we would pursue had he survived the critical days.We knew what to expect at all times.  It is never good to lose a pet but we humans live longer than our pets .  We felt blessed that our turn in the ER put us together with Dr. Mitchell. We felt he was doing all that could be done and assisted us to accept what we needed to accept. Read Less

I came here a couple days ago because my dog broke her toe. It took HOURS to be seen and there were some hillbillies here with their dog that laughed in my face when the receptionist asked me what the problem was. It cost me $412 and I went on my way. Now today my dog got her splint wrap wet and I brought her back in. The vet I saw last time said "if it gets wet just bring her back in. We will just switch out the wrap for a couple bucks"CUT TO TODAY, they take off the bandage, THEN they want to tell me that they can't switch it without sedating her. Which I would understand if she was some big dog, but she's a nine week old puppy. Are you really trying to tell me you're so afraid of a baby dog? You're probably in the wrong line of work my friend. You already took off her wrap, so you know I HAVE to get it put back on, but before you'll do it I have to spend $170 on sedation alone. If you had told me that ahead of time, I would have waited and taken her to Fort Eustis tomorrow where they aren't interested in gouging me for my hard earned money. This place is a crock of dog crap. This butcher shop doesn't even deserve a one star. Yes, the receptionist was a complete BITCH on our initial visit , I am in customer service and she needs to be fired immediately!!! This will be a long review , but please take the time to read it! Hopefully people can pass the word to avoid this shop of horrors! Our German Shepard starting feeling ill and lost all energy, our normal vet closed , but we're told to take him here, boy , our they going to get an earful on recommendations!!! Anyway, he was diagnosed with a condition (IMHA)... swollen spleen, loss of weight, we were not convinced this was the case. A month earlier we pulled ticks off of him and after my wife and I did a ton of research , believed it was a tick bourn disease. They shrugged off our attempts to get a tick pallet done and even admitted they didn't have all the equipment to check for ALL types of ticks. They recommended that he needs to stay a few days for observation.. bet folks don't know that this place does a lot of student training and used our dog as an example! These vets rotate and all the information from each shift is NOT related. Nor do I think they communicate with each other or LISTEN to what the owners have to say. So, ALL four rotating vets couldn't figure out what was wrong with him, yet said, let's go ahead and take out his spleen!!! I said HELL NO, your not even sure that's the ISSUE!!Gimme a break!!! So 3400.00 later we luckily got him home.. he is stable and are taking to our normal vet. These people do NOT care about your animal! They care about your WALLET!!! Period! We didn't get to see any test results or any of the X-rays .. just word of mouth from four different vets and staff... never the same answer.. this is a training ground for student vets! This place should be investigated for malpractice for animals. I am so mad at these leeches! Please DO NOT take your pet here! There is another emergency vet clinic in York County! Read Less

I would not take my pet here again ever. I am giving them one star simply because they were quick with getting our dog to the back to be monitored for any seizure activity. We were then left to wait in the waiting room for over an hour. When I asked how long it would be until my dog would be seen by the Dr. they said not much longer. We were then taken into a room where we repeated the same information to yet another person, when asked when we would see the Dr she stated that they are on shift change so it would be awhile. Hello...we are at an EMERGENCY VET HOSPITAL...you have my dog and are not telling me anything including the vitals that they supposedly took. There is no comfort or compassion regarding the owners that have brought in their family member who is obviously having severe enough issues to take them to the EMERGENCY VET...tell them something. So after another twenty plus minutes of waiting the Dr. comes in and says that the dog is up and moving and seems fine, that i can either take him home and watch him or for 700+$ they would keep him overnight. I opted to take him. The entire time they had my dog in a cage in the back, they did not ask me any questions about his behavior or why I thought he had suffered from a seizure. They only knew that he was alive and moving so that must surely mean he is fine. ....We took our dog down the road to another Emergency Vet where he was evaluated, his pupils were fixed and dilated, he had no response to his name, he was completely oblivious to people or even his family and he had no control over his bladder. We ultimately made the painful decision to put him to sleep to stop the suffering that he was in. After my 3 year old Lhasa Apso, Sadie Mae, had been exhibiting unusual behavior for a week I noticed she was acting even more weird one morning and began to PANIC. I had been researching 24 hour vet clinics in the area and was glad I found this place and so close to home! And to my surprise, completely affordable. If you're wondering about PRICING please scroll down to my last paragraph.I came in early in the morning around 7am and was told the wait would be about 30min due to a shift change. My pup didn't seem like she was dying so we waited. We were helped by Valentina who took Sadie's vitals and she was the sweetest. Very loving and gentle with her which I appreciated a lot. Dr Banks came in shortly after and immediately found out that my pup's back wasn't feeling so hot and prescribed her the medication she needed. After a few days of limited activity and medication Sadie is back to her normal self and I am so thankful. Now let's talk pricing. I was totally scared because of all the horrible horror stories I've heard about emergency vets. My previous family dogs with my parents have never had any issues (luckily) so I don't have pet insurance, but will now for extreme circumstances. Anyways, the prices blew me away at how AFFORDABLE. The initial exam is $89 and the meds after that brought me to $130. Obviously these things are case-by-case scenario depending on what your little critter needs, but I'm guessing it's still within a decent price range. I was told about the pricing up front and we all went from there. Nothing sucks more than not being able to afford an emergency for your best friend, but thanks to the clinic and the people in it, I was able to get my pup back to normal.Thank you Peninsula Emergency Vet Clinic! This is in response to my previous review which the owner commented on. My name is not in their records because our visit is under my spouses name. I'm sure they'll know who i am once the complaint to VDHP arrives. I find it very telling that the owner chooses to respond to my comments regarding the physical state of the clinic instead of my main and major complaint concerning the "Dr." and his horrendous behavior/customer service. Is it because this is not the first time the owner has had these types of complaints about Mr. Mitchell? As my review stated, i understand how emergency clinics function. That was not the premise of my review. Until the owner makes comment on this arrogant and disrespectful Dr, i still stand by my review. Read Less

No. Just no.After work my dog began to start limping. So I went at 8:15 later that night and waited in the waiting room to be seen. An hour a later I was told "it would be just a second". I am told to go to a room where I wait for another 45 minutes. A nurse came in and holds my dog supposedly checking the heart rate. The vet finally comes in looks at my dog. Two minutes after he entered the room he leaves because a nurse interrupts to tell him he was needed in another room. I wait a final 30 minutes and then he comes in to look at my dog. Dr. Mitchell tells me my dog needs surgery and then gets up to leave. I start asking him questions, which are all answered with vague responses. He tells me he's going to get pain medicine and leaves. At 10:50 I am given a discharge paper and told to pay upfront. The receptionist makes me wait through two phone calls and then gives me the fee of 153$. 50$ for pain medicine and a 89$ exam fee. I told them I would not pay almost to 100$ for a five minute inspection. The receptionist goes and gets the doctor who escorts me to a different room. With his demeanor completely changed at this point he asks me why I don't think he did an exam. I told him he did but not one worth 90$. Before I could finish that sentence he tells me he can't issue medicine to my dog without doing an exam. So I handed the pain medicine back and left. My dogs leg was not working, I was given short responses and vague answers, and about to be overcharged. It is unfortunate that this is the only emergency clinic near by me. I will not be returning to a place where they are more concerned about the money they can make then the well being of my family pet. Read Less

My dog was very sick when we were referred to this clinic. As it had been 11 years since we were here previously, I was quite surprised that they still had my information in their data base. The staff was waiting for us and we were seen immediately. Dr. Banks was very informative with regard to the condition my dog was dealing with and provided me with a lengthy print out of the specifics related to the disease. I was informed that I could contact them at any time if I had concerns or questions. Additionally, I was called twice a day by the vet on call as was stated prior to me leaving their office. I dealt with three different doctors as it was the weekend. All three were informative, sympathetic, and well versed in cause and effect of the disease and treatment. Happily, my dog was able to come home and is recovering slowly in the comfort of his own home. Without their care I do not think he would be with us today. All staff was courteous and always ready to assist with figures and estimates for treatment. I never felt blindsided by the final bill. I would certainly recommend and utilize their services again. Do NOT take your animal here! As a life long pet owner ive been to my fair share of emergency vets and clinics, all the way from your routine yearly check ups to emergency surgery and Peninsula Emergency Vet Clinic is by far the WORST. Please take the time to read this if you are looking for some insight, I know it's long but if you love your pet don't go here. Last week my cat was having difficulty breathing and was acting strange so we decided to find an emergency vet near to have him checked out since we didn't want to wait until the morning. Front desk receptionist, Donna, was very friendly when we got in and she immediately took our cat to the back to be put on oxygen when we arrived. As I was following her back to stay with my cat some tech(found out later her name was Erika) stepped in and rudely told me I wasn't allowed to come back there with my cat and that I could wait in the lobby as she pointed to it- this did not sit well with me and gave me a very bad feeling. I explained to her that my cat is special needs since he is deaf and is very sensitive to new people and needs to be handled carefully because he will bite. But since they assured me he was on oxygen and someone would look at him shortly I went and waited patiently. While we waited, Donna, routinely stepped back to check on him and gave us updates that he was breathing better and calming down which helped ease the bad feeling I had gotten and told us that they would be taking him back for X-rays and the Dr would see us soon with the results. While waiting I observed the same rude tech, Erika, come in and out of the back assisting with other patients as she shrugged the owners off when they were trying to tell her stuff and rolled her eyes. We finally speak with the Dr and he proceeds to tell us that they were unable to get any X-rays but that he believes our cat has congestive heart failure(which is most definitely treatable) and we should euthanize him. At this point we were a little confused and upset, we had been being told that he was doing better etc and that they were getting X-rays and now all of a sudden you're telling me that I need to euthanize my cat without any proof at all? My gut feeling from the beginning was right, I asked for them to immediately bring my cat for me to see(I was going to take him down the road for a second opinion) and they were very hesitant to bring him out. Telling us that he can't breathe without the oxygen and he's suffering now and he should be put down. We made it clear that we wanted to see him before any decision was made. Erika was the one to bring him in. She man handled him and wasn't gentle at all. When she brought our cat he was gasping for air and blood was coming out of his mouth, he was suffering and in distress when we had asked multiple times if he was comfortable because we didn't want him to suffer. I now didn't have a choice at all, he needed to be put down. He was blue and struggling to breathe and because they had made us wait hours he had laid back there alone and suffered while we had been told he was doing much better. I started asking simple questions about our options with putting him down, what their procedure was, what they used, etc. nothing crazy, just simple questions. Erika huffs and says you're being disrespectful and I feel like you're questioning my ability to do my job and I won't take it. At this point I'm FLOORED, not only have you killed my cat but now you have the AUDACITY to tell me that I'm being disrespectful. I quickly informed her that I wasn't being disrespectful, I just wanted answers before I put my suffering cat down. She snatched my poor cat up and took him away to be put back on oxygen before the final procedure. The Dr came in to euthanize him and let us have a minute with him before they took him to get him ready for us to take home. I should have known better. There's an issue when without any tests etc, they tell you to put your pet down for something that's treatable, lie to you, treat your animal poorly, and have uncaring rude techs. Our senior dog had a seizure and couldn't walk. At 4:30 in the morning, we were handed a clip board full of paperwork by a receptionist that seemed bothered by our arrival. We asked to speak to the vet, but we were told we could not speak to the vet or stay with our dog -- that she needed to take her back there alone and she would relay the information to the vet. The whole thing made us feel uncomfortable, to just sign away a bunch of authorizations without even getting to talk to the vet -- we were crying, our dog was petrified, and she had absolutely zero compassion. We knew it wasn't looking good for our dog, but we certainly didn't want her last moments on earth to be full of pokes, and prods, and fear -- without us. We asked the receptionist to try to be a little kinder about the whole situation -- we were just trying to understand what was going to happen, and she ROLLED HER EYES and walked back into the treatment area. My husband knocked on the door asking for our dog back -- that we'd take her elsewhere... So she brought her out to us, and without a word turned back around and went to the treatment room. We went up the road to Animal Emergency Center, where we were warmly welcomed by the vet herself -- one sheet of patient info was completed -- and she talked us through the whole thing with kindness and compassion. She even went to find a snuggly blanket for the floor when we realized that our dog wouldn't be coming home again. I recommend talking to your staff about how kindness, in a tragic or emergency situation, can go A LONG way. Read Less

Peninsula Emergency Veterinary Clinic diagnosed my 5 year old German Shepherd with chronic Spondylosis and sent me home with 3 pain medications. The next day he couldn't walk (actually due to paralysis but they told me it was probably just because he was in pain). I didn't settle with that so I took him to a specialist in Richmond (Bush Veterinary Neurology Service) who then found he had an immune disease and absolutely NO arthritis whatsoever. (The specialist said it was neurological and had absolutely nothing to do with his spine.) He would have died within a few weeks if I had settled with PEVC's misdiagnosis. Their equipment is old and my bill was nearly 1k. Very nice people but that didn't help my dog. Read Less

I brought my senior cat, Sinatra here on an emergent basis and was not disappointed. Immediately upon our arrival they took him back for exam while I filled out paperwork. He was examined, medicated (for pain) and X-rayed within 30 minutes. As a lifelong pet owner (without human kids so my pets are kids) I am familiar with the general cost of X-rays and emergent vet care, at least in the Seattle area, which has outrageous prices. Considering the prices I've seen, Peninsula isn't too bad. They kept me up to date with phone calls during my cat's stay, which was greatly appreciated. Read Less

We went in last for a minor wound my dog received during an attack. This was my first dog attack experience and I'm certain I was more shaken up than my dog was. The Dr. and vet tech came in examined him for a sec, took him back and cleaned him up, bandaged him, and then the vet tech brought him out. She said the Dr. would be out in a sec to explain everything she'd done, but she never came back out. Instead the vet tech gave us an extremely brief and underwhelming explanation. Perhaps because his injuries were so minor they didn't feel like they needed to be detailed, but we were still paying for all services and felt unsatisfied.Read Less

On a weekend last fall my dog began limping severely.  At PEVC, they took over $400 worth of x-rays of the injured leg, told me it was an ACL tear (based on the x-rays) and that she'd need surgery.  They gave me pain meds, and said to go and see my normal vet first thing Monday morning.  I did as I was advised, and took my dog to my vet on Monday morning.  My regular vet said there was absolutely no evidence of an ACL tear on the x-rays, or anything else.  She told me it was most likely a soft tissue injury, was very doubtful that my dog would need surgery, and suggested that I just have my dog take it easy for the next few weeks.  My vet was shocked by what the vet at PEVC has said, and suggested a more reliable emergency vet should I need one in the future. Sure enough, my dog's leg healed after some rest.  I will never go back to PEVC. Read Less

They need to be more concerned about the animals and less concerned about the bill!!!!!!!The woman at the front desk took my foster kitten with possible neck injuries and didn't support the head/ neck to prevent movement. She took him in back where the doctor examined him. Then gave us paperwork to fill out for billing. The doctor was sincere. He came out and said it is very serious and he probably wasn't going to make it. Treatment would probably cost $1500 and I should consider putting him down. They only had xray capabilities and were unable to be sure of exact damages.I called the SPCA to inform them and they said to take him to the other emergency vet down the road. I told they lady and she stated that I am still responsible for the bill. NO SHIT Sherlock! They began discharging him. It took quite a while and the lady came out asking me to sign papers. I quickly signed them and asked to bring him out. She snarkly replied that she has never been so rushed. I paid the bill and left. The kitten was agonal breathing and passed in the car on the way to the other vet.RIP sweet baby kitty Read Less

Emergency vets can be SO expensive but this ER vet makes it as affordable as possible while still providing the best services. Here's a run down of my last 8 days with this ER vet. Last Sunday I was in with my 9 lb. Yorkie Savannah, with allergic reactions from a vaccination from a vaccine clinic. Dr Frickey took excellent care of my nervous baby and quoted me higher than needed just incase of possible needed expenses so I actually got money back! Who doesn't love that?!Then on Thursday my boyfriend's 10 year old boxer Missy, went in with a mass blocking her intestines...they decided (my boyfriends family) to put her down and the staff was so amazing about it. Gave us time to say our goodbyes, brought us tissues and didn't rush us. They even provided paw prints of her foot with "missy" stamped in it for the family to pick up with her ashes. I brought my cat here a year ago valentines day and had to put her down. They did it in the very same fashion. Consistency and compassion are key factors here. They even sent out a sympathy card for my dear kitty. How sweet is that? And here we were again in the waiting room tonight with my 70 lb huge bully mastiff Simba, because I found a tick on him earlier this evening and couldn't get the head out. We were in and out in under an hour and under 50 bucks!! They nursing staff quickly removed the icky little head and brought my happy Simba out to me to be discharged. Quick and simple. If you can't tell, I love this staff! I would definitely come back! Just hopefully not any time soon! Read Less

Read Less
