I want to keep it short as I just experienced the hardest thing in my life, which was putting my best friend down, however the Dr. was completely compassionate and made this worst experience, best as it could be. We just moved to Auburn and after a recent camping trip, our dog had a laceration on one of her back paws.  Dr. Edwards was able to see her a lot sooner than any of the other vets in the area.  My pup usually hates the vet but she was pretty calm here and Dr. Edwards was great with her while cleaning her paw out.  And the best part to me is that it only cost us $83 for the visit and 2 antibiotics!  In my previous city, a visit like this would have easily cost us in the $200. I have worked with many Vets. Dr. Edwards is as good as it gets. He communicates well, is experienced, diagnoses very well, and  the animals like him. He is very gentle with the animals.  He has the best office hours that include evenings and weekends.I was confused by Lisa's review where she confused Green River Veterinary with the Auburn Emergency Veterinary. They are 2 different practices with 2 very different Veterinarians. Her sad experiance would never have happened at Green River Veterinary. Dr. Edwards does not do overnight emergency.  The Vet that does should be avoided. Read Less

This place was by far the worst vet experience Ive ever had. My dog who I had for 9years recently got very sick and passed away. Her regular vet Des Moines Vet Hospital took very good care of her and reccomended Auburn Emergency Vet in case of an overnight emergency. I understand that they were not her regular vet and didnt know her but they also didnt listen to what I had to say. I told them she was blind and that she had seen a doggie eye specialist who confirmed it but they still felt the need to test her vision when I was there for more urgent matters. My dog had a fever of 104 and was very restless and uncomfortable. The vet said she was dizzy and gave her a shot for nausea and sent her home. That night at home I was awake all night watching my poor dog suffer waiting for morning so we could go to her regulat vet. I just wanted something to make her comfortable but the vet insisted she was ok. I told them het recent history of her sudden illness but the vet insisted she was ok. My dog died that morning aftet much suffering. If you love your pet do not bring them here. I miss my dog like crazy and I relize she probably would have died anyway but she should not have had to suffer her last hours when the vet could have helped. Read Less

I really like Dr. Edwards, I recently switched because I was tired of seeing a different vet everytime I went to my old vet's office. I received a lot of conflicting information  from the numerous vets (from the same office!) previously so I chose Green River Vet since it is just Dr. Edwards and he is experienced. Dr. Edwards is also knowledgable about natural diets where as my previous vet told me I should not feed my dog a natural diet. He doesn't push any particular brand of pet food like my other vets, either. I appreciate that he gives me informational feedback rather than judgemental feedback. And his microchip fee was 20% less and he charges less for xray, there wasn't a xray tech fee added on my bill.The office staff is friendly and although the building is older, I am glad I am not paying for office decorations or frills. This place is awesome!I've had my share of Vet experiences...from having to pay some really outrageous prices to having Vets that didn't seem too keen to my K-9.  This Vet was recommended to me by two different people from two different places in my life.  Doctor Edwards is the one and only Vet here!  He is amazing. NOT only does he keep his office open 8a-8pm Monday through Friday, he is also open Sat. from 9am to Noon and is always available for emergencies.  Can I just say that I love my dogs?  I mean, LOVE.  They are like my children.  I worry about them like a Mother.  Though they mean the world to me, I often am shocked to get my vet bill and a little flustered.  Not with Dr. Edwards.  I never feel like I've been over charged here.  Half the time, they do not even charge for the visit but rather just the service.  I've got many friends who have dogs and they're always complaining about how even going in for shots, the bill is $60 and a $35 charge for just the visit.  At Green River, I was only charged $35 for shots and no visitors cost whatsoever.  That was great.I just dropped my dog off to get him neutered.  They called me today just to tell me that he is doing well and that I can show up whenever is convenient for me tomorrow to pick him up.  That courtesy alone should speak for itself.  Upon making my apt. for Dexter to get neutered, I was having schedule conflicts.  They open at 8am and I start work at 8am and due to them being in Auburn and myself working near Northgate, I could not come up with how to get him there.  The Receptionist was like, "ok, no problem!  Drop Dexter off on Monday after you get off work just make sure you get him here by 8pm.  We'll do the surgery on Tuesday morning and then you can pick him up on Wednesday anytime before we close."  That's nice, I'm thinking to myself but how much is it going to cost me for him staying overnight almost three nights in a row?  Nothing, it turns out.I guess what I'm trying to get at is yes, this place is located in Auburn.  It's a trip out and back.  If you truly want to know that your pet is in the best hands possible and that those hands are not about the bottom line but more so about the quality care of your animal, come here.  Dr. Edwards not only does this for a living, he does this at home.  He lives on a farm with tons of animals and this is what he loves.  You and your pet will love him to.  Come and meet him!
