This is a difficult and unusual review to write because the reality is, I only visited Bothell Pet Hospital once because I sadly had to put my cat to sleep. My dear cat Chloe was 19 years old and diagnosed with IBD and kidney disease about two years ago. We had recently moved to the Bothell from the Bay Area so I needed to find a vet close by for her annual check up. Chloe's health started to deteriorate a few months after our move so I bumped up her check up date to meet with the doctor. Her weight had dwindled down to about 4 1/2 or 5 lbs. I knew it was time for Chloe, she was suffering and no longer seemed to find joy in life. But I wanted to talk to a doctor and have some assurance that I was making the right decision. It's always so hard to know when it's time :( I can't tell you how lucky I feel that I was assigned Dr. Wichert. By the time I was done talking with the nurse, I was crying. When Dr. Wichert walked in she quietly listened to me tell her about Chloe's history and symptoms. She never interrupted me and had a kind, compassionate face with really helped me stay (somewhat) composed. She examined Chloe and after a tearful discussion I decided it was time to say goodbye. I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. The process was gentle and peaceful. I had been dreading this moment for years but couldn't have asked for a nicer environment or kinder person to share this with. Chloe was my dear friend for 19 years so there are no words to express my gratitude for Dr. Wichert and her staff for helping me say goodbye.I'm not sure if or when I will get another pet, but if I do I will most certainly return to Bothell Pet Hospital and Dr. Wichert where i know my pet will receive professional and compassionate care. BPH is a great place to take your pet. I brought my dog in for a cut on his Paw/pad. The docs were booked as that was their surgery day. I brought him in without an appointment and they treated him right away, even though they were booked that day. The staff has a great attitude and really cares about the pets. My dog had a couple of stitches put in on Thursday and I received a follow up phone call on Saturday by one of the staff ..Just checking up. Everything went well. Good morning; Debby and I started going to the Bothell Pet Hospital when it was all men in the veterinary positions. Yes, at one time it really was. The doctors and the clinic staff have been there with us through the good times, the bad times, and the end times with our cats. Even the staff personnel in the front office and in the back, must be mentioned because they have also come to know us and our cats over the years. They, like our cats, have been "part of the family." They have diagnosed and treated the maladies our cats have experienced, and they have been there with us when there was no longer any effective treatment left, but even then, they were still with us. I moved here with my human family and 2 older dogs from the East Coast in 1979 and a Shoreline neighbor suggested Bothell Pet Hospital to me. I have been very happy about the care my dogs have received over almost 40 years. I had a special veterinarian ... who retired, and the second vet I had my dogs see was also amazing! These professionals know their business, really love animals (including the front office staff), and are willing to explain technical terms ... and explain some more ... and some more. I'm an analytical person so appreciate knowing what's "really" going on re pet care. After all, our pets ARE part of our family, and we want them to have to best care possible. We love Bothell Pet Hospital! They helped us with an emergency situation with our dog and they got us in immediately. They then coordinated with the animal ER they sent us to so the ER knew exactly what they were dealing with. Bothell Pet Hospital worked hand in hand with them and were right there helping us with the follow up to get him back up to good health. When we have any concerns, both before and after this "exciting" one, they get us right in. We've taken our 11 dogs and 4 cats (over 30 years) to this clinic and watched as staff and Dr.'s have come and gone. The one thing that never changed was the level of care! It's been stupendous from the very start! There is not a better group of Vets & Techs. to be found. You get the treatment you need, you are NOT hassled into more than is needed, and the support for the animals as well as we humans is incredible. Every single vet is knowledgeable and compassionate. I had to take my dog here in an urgent but not emergency situation. I didn't have an appointment and it was a Friday and they were very busy but they allowed me to leave my dog and the office staff was very friendly and explained exactly what to expect. Dr. Kim Hsu introduced herself and told me that she would be looking at my dog and would give me a call with details and she followed through on exactly what she said she was going to do. I feel like I received excellent care and they gave me an estimate of the cost and gave me the options of whether I wanted the blood work, x-rays, external lab reading, etc. I will definitely return. The best place to take your furry family members. I was referred by a friend and have referred many of my friends since. I have 2 cats and one dog and all three of my current animals as well as those I have said goodbye to have all recieved excellent care at this hospital. They have a great support staff and the Vets are all wonderful, careing, considerate and passionate about your pets health and well being.
