We have two lab mixes with some behavior needs. The vets have always been very good with our two dogs and the receptionist is always great at getting our dogs into a room quickly rather than waiting in the waiting room with other people and pets. One of our dogs started having seizures. The vet was very clear on what our next steps would be depending on how our dog reacted to the meds. She was patient and answered all my questions. After another seizure occurred she told me what I needed to do and if he had another seizure to call and ask to talk directly to her. Everything seemed to be going well. We were about to go on a long road trip with our dogs and realized we'd need to pick up extra meds for the seizures. This was easy and we were able to pick them up in a couple hours. We were staying at a cabin in the middle of nowhere a few days into our trip when our dog had another seizure. I immediately called the vet and explained what had happened to the receptionist. She told me she would relay all my info to the vet and get back to me ASAP. Within 30 minutes I got a call from my vet herself. She had just gone over my dogs paperwork with colleagues and spent the next 15 minutes explaining everything to me. She was very thorough and helped me make some tricky decisions. I genuinely think they care about the animals and will do whatever they can to help. I appreciate all there extra effort and the follow up phone calls after appointments.

We had to have our sweet 10 1/2 year old pet bunny Nike put to sleep suddenly Saturday and couldn't find a vet that could help me. I called here very upset because she was suffering and they instantly got me in. Every person on the staff was so sweet and caring and made a really hard and emotional situation a little easier for me. I have been going to BVH for years. My dog has a UTI and I took a sample of her urine in for testing but they wouldn't send it to the lab. They wanted to do an expensive invasive test instead. I take mine to my doctor and he does a test. They said I may have a contaminated sample. Im sure I didn't. I think the patient should have a choice. I don't want to chance an invasive procedure for this. Now I have to wait until next week's appointment with a new vet that is happy to check the sample meanwhile she is in pain. Very disappointed. Won't go back.

I truly wish that there was a negative on this site like a -5 Stars. Dr. Wood has no people skills or bedside manner for ill animals or there families. Asking a patient what they would like done with their friend without any comforting advice or options...is a huge miss! I promise I will never go there again and if you truly care about your family animal, I would suggest a different clinic. Hopefully this will save another family the horrible experience my family had today. "Dr" Wood should consider a profession that does not deal with animals or humans she lacks any personal skills and is patronizing when trying to communicate. Furthermore, my family has been seen at this clinic for 14 years, but the last few years have been less than acceptable. I know they had big shoes to fill, when coming to this clinic so I gave them more chances then I ever should have! Bring back Dr. Gran a professional with a heart!

We have been goin to Buckley veterinarian for almost 5 yes when our beloved dog began to have seizures . They were always loving and caring when we came in For blood work and check ups. Last night 3-8-2016 we had to take our dog cedar in due he would not stop seizing . They were so warm and caring and stayed after hrs to help us make that painful call that as fur parents you have to sometimes have to make. They stayed with him until the end and made sure he was comfortable as he crossed over the rainbow bridge. When I came home today from work I found this flower arrangement on my front porch from them and that they were grieving with us. As long as I have furry babies they will always be my vet of choice thank you and please keep up the family friendly great job you guys do. It means a lot to know you cared for him just as much as we did

We recently moved to the area and decided to transfer our services there. That was a mistake. We have a new puppy and they did an OK job with him. He did have an infection that they missed. They seem to think I didn't know how to raise a puppy (he is my 4th I have raised) The third time we took him in they finally gave us medication that cleared him up in 24 hours. We also have a lab that blew out a knee and I took him in. We met with Dr. Stevens. She is very sweet and was great. However, they could not get their surgeon in there for 3 weeks. I was not going to let my dog walk around on a lame leg that long. I elected to get the surgery done at another clinic. I took him into the vet to get his stitches out and they thought he might have an infection. Dr. Wood told me to take him back up to Wallingford where the surgery was done because they would not treat him for the infection as they did not do the surgery. It turned out my dog did not have an infection. I should have read the reviews on this vet before we took our animals there. Lesson learned.

My problem is not the treatment received I think the techs and Vet have a good knowledge of what they are doing however they do seem to be shifty when it comes to charges. They do test and give medications without explaining any charges or cost, and then when we came back for the follow up my charge was almost twice what I was told it would be because again another test was done without me being able to accept or decline and not being advised that it was an additional charge. I am a full time student living on my disabled veterans benefits so my income is incredibly limited so have two surprising large bills was very frustrating and when I questioned the second bill the lady at the front desk was very rude and short like how dare I question charges. I would not recommend this practice unless you have no concern about how much your services will cost.

I began taking my dogs to Buckley Veterinary Hospital back in 2007. Although reasonably satisfied with the service at that point in time, it wasn't until Dr. Dennette Wood took over as owner that I knew I had found a vet for life. Dr. Wood quickly made the necessary changes to improve the quality and service of the hospital. Soon, their business hours increased, making it more convenient for those with busy schedules to get their pets to the vet in a timely manner. Staying open late and being open on Saturdays is a convenience that very few veterinarian hospitals offer. It seems they understand the importance of hiring outgoing individuals who not only care about animals, but work hard to ensure their clients are 100% satisified.
In addition to the fine care they give my dogs, BVH has served an important need to the community by supporting our nonprofit organization, Left Behind K-9 Rescue. We work to save and rehabilitate many types of dogs who have become homeless and are in need of a second chance. Most of these dogs were never cared for throughout their lives, and therefore are usually in need of a great deal of medical attention. BVH has become our most important partner by making the vet visits very affordable and ensuring the rescues are thoroughly cared for. One of the biggest compliments we receive from adopting families is how impressed they are with the care their rescue dog received while at the veterinarian. We have BVH to thank for that!
It truly is remarkable to see the passion and experience the team at BVH has in caring for the pets of our community. I recommend them to all my friends, family, and colleagues because I know they will provide the proper care necessary to our four-legged friends in need.

Their customer service is awesome! I came to Buckley Vet for the first time last week. They were able to get my dog in for an issue with his eye the same day I called. They greeted me on a first name basis along with my dog (my guess is that they looked at the schedule ahead of time). Dr. Wood was thorough but to the point, and they followed up with a call two days later to check-in. Highly recommend these guys! Thanks again.

Needed some medication for my dog, and this was the only place I was able to find it. I called all the places nearer to my home, but didn't have any luck, and the BVH was just about my last resort. Staff was really knowledgeable, and were able to answer all my questions about the new medication. I'd be back again if I were ever in the area and my pet needed anything.

I bring all three of my dogs there. Brought my weinner dog in because he wasn't doing well. I inherited him three years ago. He was 15 he passed away there. They did CPR and everything they could to save him. But he was ready to go home to his real mama. I'm grateful for everything they did for him.

We had a great experience taking our dog there, however when we took our cat in, Dr. Wood, changed our whole thoughts about this place. Terrible people skills and comes across rude and a know it all....

We've been taking our four "puppies" for over 7 years to Buckley Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Wood and her staff have always gone above and beyond what would be expected. They are very professional and go out of their way to make sure our puppies are in the best of health. We have two lab mixes with some behavior needs. The vets have always been very good with our two dogs and the receptionist is always great at getting our dogs into a room quickly rather than waiting in the waiting room with other people and pets. One of our dogs started having seizures. The vet was very clear on what our next steps would be depending on how our dog reacted to the meds. She was patient and answered all my questions. After another seizure occurred she told me what I needed to do and if he had another seizure to call and ask to talk directly to her. Everything seemed to be going well. We were about to go on a long road trip with our dogs and realized we'd need to pick up extra meds for the seizures. This was easy and we were able to pick them up in a couple hours. We were staying at a cabin in the middle of nowhere a few days into our trip when our dog had another seizure. I immediately called the vet and explained what had happened to the receptionist. She told me she would relay all my info to the vet and get back to me ASAP. Within 30 minutes I got a call from my vet herself. She had just gone over my dogs paperwork with colleagues and spent the next 15 minutes explaining everything to me. She was very thorough and helped me make some tricky decisions. I genuinely think they care about the animals and will do whatever they can to help. I appreciate all there extra effort and the follow up phone calls after appointments.

We had to have our sweet 10 1/2 year old pet bunny Nike put to sleep suddenly Saturday and couldn't find a vet that could help me. I called here very upset because she was suffering and they instantly got me in. Every person on the staff was so sweet and caring and made a really hard and emotional situation a little easier for me. Thank you so much for the amazing kindness to me and Nike and for helping her to go peacefully, it meant so much.

Awesome place they are not just a dog and cat vet they also treat rabbits and other critters. They are very gentle and caring for you and your animals. We've found a lifelong vet in them.

I have been going to BVH for years. My dog has a UTI and I took a sample of her urine in for testing but they wouldn't send it to the lab. They wanted to do an expensive invasive test instead. I take mine to my doctor and he does a test. They said I may have a contaminated sample. Im sure I didn't. I think the patient should have a choice. I don't want to chance an invasive procedure for this. Now I have to wait until next week's appointment with a new vet that is happy to check the sample meanwhile she is in pain. Very disappointed. Won't go back.

I truly wish that there was a negative on this site like a -5 Stars. Dr. Wood has no people skills or bedside manner for ill animals or there families. Asking a patient what they would like done with their friend without any comforting advice or options...is a huge miss! I promise I will never go there again and if you truly care about your family animal, I would suggest a different clinic. Hopefully this will save another family the horrible experience my family had today. "Dr" Wood should consider a profession that does not deal with animals or humans she lacks any personal skills and is patronizing when trying to communicate. Furthermore, my family has been seen at this clinic for 14 years, but the last few years have been less than acceptable. I know they had big shoes to fill, when coming to this clinic so I gave them more chances then I ever should have! Bring back Dr. Gran a professional with a heart!

We have been goin to Buckley veterinarian for almost 5 yes when our beloved dog began to have seizures . They were always loving and caring when we came in For blood work and check ups. Last night 3-8-2016 we had to take our dog cedar in due he would not stop seizing . They were so warm and caring and stayed after hrs to help us make that painful call that as fur parents you have to sometimes have to make. They stayed with him until the end and made sure he was comfortable as he crossed over the rainbow bridge. When I came home today from work I found this flower arrangement on my front porch from them and that they were grieving with us. As long as I have furry babies they will always be my vet of choice thank you and please keep up the family friendly great job you guys do. It means a lot to know you cared for him just as much as we did

We recently moved to the area and decided to transfer our services there. That was a mistake. We have a new puppy and they did an OK job with him. He did have an infection that they missed. They seem to think I didn't know how to raise a puppy (he is my 4th I have raised) The third time we took him in they finally gave us medication that cleared him up in 24 hours. We also have a lab that blew out a knee and I took him in. We met with Dr. Stevens. She is very sweet and was great. However, they could not get their surgeon in there for 3 weeks. I was not going to let my dog walk around on a lame leg that long. I elected to get the surgery done at another clinic. I took him into the vet to get his stitches out and they thought he might have an infection. Dr. Wood told me to take him back up to Wallingford where the surgery was done because they would not treat him for the infection as they did not do the surgery. It turned out my dog did not have an infection. I should have read the reviews on this vet before we took our animals there. Lesson learned.

My problem is not the treatment received I think the techs and Vet have a good knowledge of what they are doing however they do seem to be shifty when it comes to charges. They do test and give medications without explaining any charges or cost, and then when we came back for the follow up my charge was almost twice what I was told it would be because again another test was done without me being able to accept or decline and not being advised that it was an additional charge. I am a full time student living on my disabled veterans benefits so my income is incredibly limited so have two surprising large bills was very frustrating and when I questioned the second bill the lady at the front desk was very rude and short like how dare I question charges. I would not recommend this practice unless you have no concern about how much your services will cost.

I love this office, I have taken my fur babies here forever, they have seen my babies that are no longer with me and the ones I have now. I have always received the best care. I can call with questions or drop in and they will always help me out. I deal with Buckley vet for my fosters as well, and they are as good to them as they are to my own kids. I will never go anywhere else.

They refused to refill the medicine unless I brought her in for an office visit. Even though my vet called them they still refused. Clearly they prioritize money over an animals comfort. My little dog has an appointment with her regular vet first thing monday morning.

If she did this at any other job, she would be fired.

I began taking my dogs to Buckley Veterinary Hospital back in 2007. Although reasonably satisfied with the service at that point in time, it wasn't until Dr. Dennette Wood took over as owner that I knew I had found a vet for life. Dr. Wood quickly made the necessary changes to improve the quality and service of the hospital. Soon, their business hours increased, making it more convenient for those with busy schedules to get their pets to the vet in a timely manner. Staying open late and being open on Saturdays is a convenience that very few veterinarian hospitals offer. It seems they understand the importance of hiring outgoing individuals who not only care about animals, but work hard to ensure their clients are 100% satisified.
In addition to the fine care they give my dogs, BVH has served an important need to the community by supporting our nonprofit organization, Left Behind K-9 Rescue. We work to save and rehabilitate many types of dogs who have become homeless and are in need of a second chance. Most of these dogs were never cared for throughout their lives, and therefore are usually in need of a great deal of medical attention. BVH has become our most important partner by making the vet visits very affordable and ensuring the rescues are thoroughly cared for. One of the biggest compliments we receive from adopting families is how impressed they are with the care their rescue dog received while at the veterinarian. We have BVH to thank for that!
It truly is remarkable to see the passion and experience the team at BVH has in caring for the pets of our community. I recommend them to all my friends, family, and colleagues because I know they will provide the proper care necessary to our four-legged friends in need.

Their customer service is awesome! I came to Buckley Vet for the first time last week. They were able to get my dog in for an issue with his eye the same day I called. They greeted me on a first name basis along with my dog (my guess is that they looked at the schedule ahead of time). Dr. Wood was thorough but to the point, and they followed up with a call two days later to check-in. Highly recommend these guys! Thanks again.

Needed some medication for my dog, and this was the only place I was able to find it. I called all the places nearer to my home, but didn't have any luck, and the BVH was just about my last resort. Staff was really knowledgeable, and were able to answer all my questions about the new medication. I'd be back again if I were ever in the area and my pet needed anything.
