Dr. Kamdar and Courtney have been wonderful to see and interact with! I have a bulldog with medical problems that has caused me to be a frequent visitor. Courtney ALWAYS greets me with genuine kindness and looks out for me and my pet. Dr. Kamdar spent well over an hour and a half (past business hours) going over the treatment options for my dog, and how we will tackle the issue. She explained everything in terms that was understandable, she was humorous, outgoing, and obviously excels in her field. I highly recommend this vet to anyone who is looking to be welcomed with open arms and to receive expert treatment! The staff here are very nice. However, the vet Dr. could have cared less about my sweet dog Tank. All he wanted was $$$$. He just let our only choice be euthanasia because we could not come up front with $3800. We were able to get about $2000 of it and pleaded for a payment option. He flat out said no. You KILLED my dog in my opinion you horrible beast! I also PAID for a cremation with Tanks ashes saved in container for us to have. Well, a couple months have gone by and guess what? Not even a call. Our first experience with the Burien Veterinary Hospital was great and horrible at the same time. We had to take our Loving cat of 9 years in for a recheck from an emergence visit and sadly the cancer had become much worse in the week between the two visits and we had to have our beloved Rocket put to sleep. Everyone was so wonderful and and we could feel all of their hearts were heavy with ours. Unfortunately the next day I ended up in the hospital for a few days so I didn'...t get any processing time until I went home a few days later and I was home alone all day and it really set it (hes really gone and how much he really did for me everyday by just being here with me) one day hes here and the next gone, life is too short. A couple days later I'm still having a hard time processing everything when we received a card from our vet at Burien Veterinary Hospital it is beautiful and not only the beautiful card but Dr. Dixon took her own time to write a personal note to us from her heart to ours. What an amazing woman and team they have! I have to thank everyone in Burien Veterinary Hospital, especially Dr. Dixon you were amazing with Rocket and us. Thank You for being You!! cost almost twice to do the neutering service at burien animal hospital than say, the city pound. Shots and other things seem to cost a bit more here as well. Well worth it, i have a very large dog and the last thing i need is him throwing a tantrum over not wanting to visit a vet. Vet offices tend to echo, tile/hard floors, all it takes is a few other dogs whining with a stressed out receptionist/doctor to make the dog want to peel out and go home. Its like taking a kid to the doctor. I'd rather have someone do the extra work to make the experience something positive/memorable. They give him toys, pet him, squeeze his face and tell him how adorable he is, nothing but tail wags and excitement out of the dog. Whos a good dog? yes you are! nobody likes getting shots or waiting in a doctor office, but the dog will never remember the doctor part.. too much fun going on to associate the visit as something to avoid. If I could give a zero I would. Our sweet kitty was really social and loved people until we took her here to get her shots updated. We think they mishandled her because she was sore in the ribs and we couldn't pick her up for about 3 weeks. She was mean to us and everyone that came in our house. She would hiss and scratch if you got close to her. She has been like that with strangers ever since (and still has mixed attitudes with us), but recently she has started to come out of it. I would NEVER recommend Burien Veterinarian Hospital. They were recommended to us, but they wouldn't let us go in the exam room with her and the shots took forever, so we knew something was wrong. We think she freaked out, because we weren't there with her, and were very rough with her. We could tell the vet assistant was really mad when she brought her back out us and our kitty has never been the same since. It makes me so sad and very very mad to think she might have been mistreated back there, but we have no way to prove it. Read Less

I've had both positive and negative experiences here: I agree with many of the reviews which note they are out to make money, however, I've also had an extremely positive experience with Dr. Duesberg especially in terms of her ability to succeed where others have failed to work with a very difficult vet-phobic dog. I had never been to this office until I found an abscess on my kitty and called my usual vet's office to find out that no doctor would be in for a week, so I called around because my kitty was obviously quite sick. Wanting to stay in Burien my next call was Burien Veterinary Hospital. They made an appointment the same day, knew immediately that they had to do surgery, the surgery was also the same day and they allowed me to make a reasonable payment arrangement. I was even able to pick up my baby that evening and bring her home with very clear instructions on how to care for her. The doctor explained in great detail (with drawings on a paper towel) exactly what the surgery was, what they found, what they did and even how they stitched her up. The follow up care has been phenomenal as well. Every single person that I have spoken to there (doctors, vet techs, office staff in general) has been very knowledgeable, caring and gentle. I truly feel that they have the best interest of the animals in mind. I am transferring the medical records for both of my cats here, this is their new doctor. I want to hug each and every one of them for taking such good care of my baby and being so understating and patient with me, who on the day of the surgery was a little bit of an emotional, nervous wreck.
