I love how well and sweet they treat all my dogs. It's hard to find a place that treats a pit bull with the same love and caring that they do my cocker. All 3 of my dogs love going there. The people are so friendly and the Drs are so knowledgeable. I just love it!!!!!!!

I would rate the vet -50 if possible. He refused to look at or touch my sick 17 yr old kitty unless she was anesthetized. Suggested an x-ray, then after completion, said X-rays are not really used muc...
I would rate the vet -50 if possible. He refused to look at or touch my sick 17 yr old kitty unless she was anesthetized. Suggested an x-ray, then after completion, said X-rays are not really used much anymore and not helpful, but didn't hesitate to charge a couple hundred for it. As I tried to ask questions about ways to help my baby, frustrated terrified tears leaking down my face, he stood with back to me partially out the door. Answered coldly and non helpfully. Just pay your $300 and leave was his attitude. His staff expressed concern seeing tears rolling and offered a little care and discussed my easy question re what to give kitty for constipation. I asked for the vets name and they hush hush like informed me he's the owner. My feeling is that Blackhawk has a black heart in it's owner/vet and he should retire or work as an accountant. I would never trust a beloved family member to him for any reason.

I have never been more disappointed in a vet than I am with these people . Theyre fine for routine care but any type of injury happens - thake your pet elsewhere. They have misdiagnosed two of my dogs...
I have never been more disappointed in a vet than I am with these people . Theyre fine for routine care but any type of injury happens - thake your pet elsewhere. They have misdiagnosed two of my dogs ..one the vet couldnt find the break and we had to show him ....next time my puppy had a "fracture in her hip "he said ....we didnt see the xrays and didnt give us pain meds..I had to call and ask for them the next day ...the vet didnt talk to us in person and he was very rude over the phone . I took her to a new vet and they could not find the fracture ... He is an AWFUL vet.

I went to Blackhawk a few years back. The experience was so horrible I am still a mad every time I think about it. The main vet ( who was a male) was disgustingly awful with pet care. My dog was nervous and in pain and instead of slowly introducing himself to my dog by letting my dog sniff his hand (5 year olds know this) he came in and started aggressively poking and pulling on his ear. He had an ear infection. Then the vet assist was trying to make me feel like a pile because my dog at that point didn't want anything to do with that place. I should have taken this issue farther and still might if those two are still there. Also for telling me nothing and saying it was my dogs fault and mine is still had to pay 70 bucks for it. Never had any experience in my life like this. These people should be ashamed and should never be working with animals. Don't leave your animal alone with these people they will not be kind because they do not care !!!!!!!

The staff , especially Brook , are fantastic. They are a shoulder to cry on when I lose my old friends and I can phone for advise at anytime.
I highly recommend this vet for all your furry family members.They care.

I have been to blackhawk multiple times since living in Cheney, I have never much liked the veterinarians there however the front desk staff and assistants have always been nice. I will never go back ...
I have been to blackhawk multiple times since living in Cheney, I have never much liked the veterinarians there however the front desk staff and assistants have always been nice. I will never go back after my last experience though. I took my cat in after coming home and finding out she was unable to walk correctly. I took her in right away and the vet told me that she had epilepsy because it had happened a few years before and that there was nothing I could do about it, I had to specially request that they run blood work to make sure there was nothing else going on, then they sent me home. The next say she was still not able to walk and when I spoke with the vet about her blood work results I told him this, he then said she must have had a massive seizure that damaged her brain and she may never walk right again. After this "diagnosis" I took her for a second option, where I found she has an enlarged heart as well as a brain tumor. Had I taken this vets word for it and waited my cat could be at a point of no recovery, it is absurd that they were fine giving my a diagnosis without much information or running any tests. They clearly were not concerned one bit about my cat or her health. I will never be going back here and I suggest to anyone who does go here to get a second opinion on anything they tell you. Plus the vet I have dealt with the last few times is extremely rude and condescending. I would not recommend taking your animals to this vet.

Our dog was in a life or death situation and this clinic treated us very poorly until I pulled out my credit card and assured them we were able to pay for the hospitalization and test required to diagnose her. I'm sure that there are my people who come into their office and do not pay their bill. However, when I am there and my animal is visibly in pain and I am obviously upset, plus I have assured you after you have disclosed that this could become quite expensive that I would still like to proceed with having her tested, please don't continue to speak to me about cost and how it may be cheaper to just have her put down.
Thankfully our dog did not die and is able to be treated with regular medication which I will not be receiving from this office any longer. I made a call to a few other veterinary offices in the area and was able to receive the same medication for about 50% the cost that I was charged at Blackhawk.
We have several friends and family members who take their pets to this clinic and they have never had this type of interaction with the office. I will say that for the most part the veterinary assistants were very sweet and compassionate toward our dog. The Vet himself WAS NOT!
After spending almost $1800 in the past month we will not be returning.

Suggested an x-ray, then after completion, said X-rays are not really used much anymore and not helpful, but didn't hesitate to charge a couple hundred for it.
