I have been taking my pets here for the past year. I've been so impressed with the sincere caring and personalized care my pets and I receive. We had a very scary experience with my older dog recently, he was unable to walk due to severe vertigo. We've brought our golden retriever here for 10 years, and we've always been happy. Yesterday was particularly good. The front desk staff went out of their way to calm her nerves with biscuits and love. The vet tech was calming and extremely knowledgeable. The veterinarian sat down on the floor with her for the exam, and took a lot of time with her, even though there were no major problems. She had a mass on her gums and could really use a teeth cleaning, but they provided all the information without pushing anything. It is clear that they put animals, not profits, first. My Gunnar loves going to this place! He gets all excited when we pull into the parking lot. He has been coming here for the last year and has been boarded here as well as receiving his health care. Absolutely the best experience we could have had during the extremely difficult time of putting our dog down. We have been taking our dog to this clinic for 12 1/2 years. They know our dog very well. When we got there, they put us in a room right away. Spencer had already brought a blanket into the room that he said was our dog's favorite from when we had her boarded while on vacation. He even told us cute stories about things our dog did while she was there. Another assistant brought in her favorite treat, peanut butter, so we could give it to her while we spent our last time together. Spenser and Dr. Vendramin kindly talked to us about euthanasia and supported our painful decision to finally have our dog put down for health reasons. They were so nice and kept telling us we were great owners for taking such good care of her, especially with all her medical problems. They said we could take as much time with our dog as we needed, before and after they gave her the drug. I really could not have asked for a better experience! Read Less

So the next time I go in, my one weirdo, semi-feral cat is greeted like the sweetest cat ever and they cater to her strange anxieties, and it feels like no time passed between the last conversation I had with the vet and the next visit. They treat my pets like their own. Today they weren't too busy when I was in, so they took the time to socialize with my cat and love on her after her check up. It was great because she wasn't crazy scared at the end of the visit. I can call for a consultation, and they are very honest about what might really warrant a visit or what can be watched for a few days. (And the notes for that conversation go in the file!) Great place to take your pets! We love the front desk, vet techs and docs! We have been taking our 4 cats in to the Edmonds Veterinary Hospital since we moved to the area 3 years ago. I appreciate the loving care they give our animals and the fact that they have been upfront and honest about fees and charges. No surprises! The docs have taken our cats last minute on two separate occasions when they have become ill with infections.  We believe our animals are alive today because they worked so hard to get our pets in to be seen last minute. One time they made room to see us before a busy holiday weekend.  They are always welcoming and never judge me for the care I can/cannot afford to give my animals or because I have "indoor/outside" cats! They are ALWAYS very supportive. These guys are gems if you are looking for a solid vet clinic that has your animals care in their best interest! Read Less

I had been taking my dog here for years, until now......Just recently this practice has changed owners. I'm not sure when this happened but it didn't seem important to tell the current patients. I came in for what seemed like a simple procedure for Dr. Remick and his staff, but because there are all new staff there I was told it had was done differently. I didn't understand why it needed to be done differently when it worked before. It's like the saying goes "if it ain't broke don't fix it" kind of deal. I felt as though I wasn't given any other option then to do the major procedure they wanted. I left there feeling uneasy, helpless and broke. I then went home called around and found a place that will do the procedure the "old way" and for half the cost. If you love your pets don't take them here. I know I will never be back. Read Less

What a sweet bunch of people!!! Dr. Fry and the other staff get down on the ground and snuggle your dog and spoil them with treats before they do anything. I brought a stray in that I found. They were so kind to work with me on price so he could the care he needed. They definitely care about your pet first. My six dogs are my most precious gifts. The only place I feel safe taking them for care is EVH. The staff there are caring and well trained, the practice is properly managed, and the vets care deeply about providing the best care possible in the most caring manner. Each of my dogs has multiple heath issues (puppy mill rescues one and all) and require special handling. EVH doesn't take short cuts--they do the right thing for each animal and provide constant supervision while the animals are in care. It's a good sign when your dog wants to go to the vet, and when she really would rather stay there than come home after surgery. Read Less

Since the practice has changed hands, gotten new staff, and a qualified practice manager, prices have gone down and quality has gone up tremendously! Dr. Fry is the most gentle, thoughtful person, and she cares deeply about each animal. Dr. Vendramin just saved my dog's life after she had been misdiagnosed TWICE at another practice. Dr. V is also a very caring doctor and is amazingly patient with overanxious, stressed owners. Inez has explained things to me that I have thought I understood, but by the time I got home was so stressed about that I had forgotten half what the doctor said--and she never makes me feel stupid or belittles my concerns. I have not met Dr. Downs yet, but considering all the wonderful care given by the staff and other doctors, I think I would trust him, also. Read Less

The Dr. we had who, by the way, isn't listed on their website was insensitive, avarice, and had me so upset I wasn't just crying about the loss of our cat but from the frustration and ineptness of the Dr's communication. DON'T TRUST THIS BUTCHER FOR A PEACEFUL END TO YOUR BELOVED PET'S LIFE. HE HIT A NERVE INJECTING THE SEDATIVE, MY BABY JUMPED AND SCREAMED IN PAIN. HIS HEART AND BREATH RACED IN FEAR. THEN HE COULDN'T FIND THE VEIN FOR THE IV--HAD TO TRY IN TWO LEGS. THE ORDEAL TOOK ALMOST 1/2 HR. AND HAD THE NERVE TO CHARGE $40. AFTER I FOUND OUT THAT AN INJECTION COULD HAVE BEEN PUT DIRECTLY INTO HIS HEART AND MY LOVE WOULD HAVE BEEN GONE IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. Read Less

We moved cross country in 6 days with our fur babies. It was definitely hard on our dog Spike. He was/is stress licking, itchy and not keeping his food down. The team at Edmonds Veterinary Hospital were compassionate and very gentle with him. Our vet tech showed us to the exam room and made sure to give him lots of pets. She gave us an update while we were waiting for the vet. There was plenty of reading material and toys to keep us busy. Our Vet was gentle and very thorough with her exam. After a shot to settle his stomach down, we were sent home with a food plan and some meds. Spike is keeping his food down but still itchy and licking his paws. We think he may have allergies so I will def be making another appointment with EVH. Read Less

I took my cats here after battling a flea infestation for several weeks. Since I was moving to a new place, I had them bathed and treated before introducing them into their new flea-free home. These folks took great care of my babies and took the time to go over other issues one of my kitties might be facing. Do not go to this facility, they will not be there for you when the worst day of your life happens and you need them more than ever. Because they likely will be booked and can't get you in. So then you get to find a facility that doesn't know your dog while your grieving because of what must be done, to do the final loving act that a human can do for their pets. Angry, dang right I am angry. I am appauled and now crying yet again. Because my dog who we had since birth because we had her mom too, was the love of my life and I failed her because of this place. My 17 year old Cleo suffering with Liver Failure and this Clinic did provide good meds for her to get her through her last months. The morning of Aug 12 2015 she stopped eating (she had been a really good eater eating 4 times per day at least) and we found some blood in her stool. Throughout the day we hoped she would bounce back but by 4pm this had turned to full blood. Knowing she would start really suffering soon we decided that because we loved her so very much we had to have her put down that day. Making the call was bad enough but then to be told that they can't get her in (yeah they said they were sorry) but they have openings tomorrow!!! I was mortified! I was angry! I was in disbelief! Never in my life would I have thought they would not "make room for her" or not "stay late" if needed to end a dogs suffering. They had seen her several times over her life and a couple surgeries as well so this was not justs a call out of the blue. They had been treating her and knew she had little time. I work part time for a Vet but he is in Marysville, and he would never turn away any animal in such need. I learned my lesson the hard way and I am compelled to help you not make the same mistake I did. I will never cross their front door again. They devistated me at my most volunerable time. We have been taking our dogs here for almost 10 years and we have always been happy with the care that we and the dogs have received.  Dr Remmick is our favorite as he is kind of old-school, never makes us feel stupid, and the dogs feel the most comfortable with him.  We had two senior pugs, both of which ended up with different kinds of cancer. Dr Remmick was fast with his diagnosis and said he would be happy to treat them but also recommended some specialists. These specialists also were AWESOME!   Dr Remmick and Vicki were there when we decided Stanley had enough and were super supportive and caring as they helped him cross The Rainbow Bridge.  Oliver was the office favorite, everyone loved that crazy Ollie! Everyone in the office teared up when I came in to inform them we had to take Ollie to the Emergency Vet on Sunday and he had crossed The Bridge. They were even so caring to send a sympathy card a couple of days later.   Now we have Maggie the Puggle. She has been in great health and Dr Remmick has been a great help keeping her that way. She has been fixed, a couple of teeth cleanings, and surgery to remove a bladder stone. She has seen every doctor, and the dentist. Couldn't be happier with all the treatment she has received.   They are a great neighborhood vet! We would highly recommend! Read Less

I have been taking my dogs to Edmonds Vet Hospital for years...often seeing Dr. Remick but see others as appointments are available.....and when I was a kid we took our dogs to Dr. Remick when he worked on 5th Ave in Downtown Edmonds.,***My favorite thing about going there:  my dogs always go in willingly, with zero hesitation at the door.  That speaks volumes to me about the care and attention they receive whether I'm there with them or not.***Dr. Remick has always been completely professional, great with my dogs, always makes follow up calls to check on their status post-treatment, and never talks "down" to me as a layperson, but rather imparts information tactfully and respectfully.Ditto with the rest of the staff.  Vickie has been there for years as well (maybe as long as Dr. Remick), and is equally wonderful.  When I took one of my dogs there for a private euthanasia she could not have been classier, gentler, or more respectful.  It was like nothing else was on her schedule for the day except my dog (which of course was far from the truth, they were pretty busy at the time), and she even brought little chocolate bars out of her pocket for him to have....what a fabulous end-of-life idea for dogs who can't eat chocolate during their lives!  He loved it and it was the only time I cried a little before he passed away...it was that sweet.My furry companions and I have enjoyed a wonderful, decades-long  relationship with Dr. Remick and staff. I took my dog to EVH for routine care.  He saw Larry Remick, DVM.  Dr. Remick was incredibly offensive.   I'm 9 months pregnant and he commented that my upcoming c-section was, "taking the easy way out".  Seriously?!?  What does that have to do with my do??  He also made some socially and professionally questionable remarks about his assistant's race/ethnicity. We love Edmonds Veterinary Hospital. We have two cats, one is an adult cat and the other is a new kitten who we got from a local shelter and was very sick. The staff at Edmonds vet are very caring, the doctors are especially thorough and not only care for our animals but answer all of our questions and explain what the animals need and why they need it. Our kitten is now in excellent health due to the vet care she received at Edmonds Veterinary Hospital. We've had other vets over the years and none compare to these guys! Read Less

I recently took my dog to "Dr." Eric Johson for an emergency surgery for an intestinal obstruction. DURING the surgery, we were informed that they did not have the aftercare facilities (ICU)  for this type of procedure and that we would have to move him to another hospital immediately after MAJOR surgery. After speaking to many vets, the consensus seems to be that you NEVER move an animal after major surgery. My dog screamed in pain when moved and needed to be hospitalized for a bit longer due to the unnecessary additional stress and movement. I feel he did the procedure solely for the money. He charged us the high end of the quote ($2500) and pretty much kicked our dog out. He later called me for a follow-up and proceeded to make underhanded comments about the hospital he referred us to! This guy is not a professional and shouldn't be in the industry. Had he truly cared, he would have referred us to the same specialists for surgery that he did for aftercare to prevent this undue stress. I would NEVER take an animal to them again and I recommend you do the same. I am filing complaints with the AVMA the WA Better Business Bureau and I have contacted an attorney. The specialists I was referred to, VCA of Seattle in Lynnwood, were amazing. They go far above and beyond what is expected and I will take my dogs there from now on. Read Less
