I so very much recommend Broadway Animal Hospital. In the past, my 11-year-old semi-feral cat, Isaiah, has had a very difficult time going to the vet. With the help of some gabapentin slipped into his breakfast, we made it to Broadway Animal Hospital where Dr. Black diagnosed my boy with diabetes. Twice daily insulin injections are a challenge, as even approaching him in the past causes him to retreat. Isaiah normally comes to me only when I am settled down on the sofa or bedroom. Somehow these wonderful people were able to help my boy remain calm enough for initial examination, a couple of days of hospitalization and then return follow-up without issue. Broadway Animal Hospital has walked me through cost estimates each time and helped me make the best choice without judgment. They even helped me figure out the ways to save money, both in my vet costs and in getting Isaiah his supplies. Over the last couple of weeks, Isaiah has also seen Dr. Baillie and Dr. Shingawa as well as some excellent vet techs and front end staff. I have had a lot of questions and have needed multiple follow-up training sessions to learn about treating Isaiah with insulin injections and lancings for glucometer blood testing. The staff has been encouraging and helpful with tips and training skills. Even the hard conversation that I feared was made so much easier by Dr. Shinagawa - what if my boy's quality of life becomes so stressed from daily invasive treatment, that though his body becomes healthy, his daily life becomes traumatic. We discussed this, made a plan based on benchmarks and timeframes that I feel very good about. I felt empowered to make the best choices for Isaiah and not judged or pressured. In my view, this hospital has treated my animal's whole health and not just the science of his body. I am just grateful for the excellent, compassionate, joyful care this facility has provided my boy. I definitely recommend them! Read Less

I took my puggle there and they sent us away saying he just had a stomach virus or infection he was literally pooping blood and losing too much weight. Took him to diamond vet where they told me it was one out of two things IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) or intestinal Cancer, about 5000 dollars later and a lot of heart ache trying to save him he died of intestinal Cancer. Broadway vet wouldn't even try to them it was all about jacking up those prices but good forbid they actually do something. It has been two years and I still cry for my puggle. If Broadway vet had actually done something when I first brought him in I might have been able to save him. Read Less

They are okay. I felt they try to push vaccines heavily, even though I just wanted specific ones. Then when I came back for a booster, they almost tried giving her a new vaccine but I explained I'm only here for a booster so alot of confusion. They also took my dog to the back to give her a shot, but the first time they did her shot in the room.. She gets scared without me so I just felt really bad for my pup. When the back door opened, I saw a few vet staff on the ground with my pup, I'm sure she was fine but I just felt uncomfortable. The prices are decent, but I just prefer going to value vet because it's closer to home. Read Less

Vets are great.  Miss Dr Smalley in a big way - he was the best and really deeply cared about your pet.  My dog loved him.  The techs are another story.  The long timers are awesome but there are too many techs and  newbies that seem to be in training.  They give erroneous advice rather than verify first.  I believe one techs lack of sharing vital info with the vet, and instead relying on her own opinion, lead to my dogs death. Vet was horrified that he hadn't known.  Will go, but will ask for fully experienced techs who aren't afraid to verify their diagnosis.  Expensive (likely to pay all those newbie techs) and won't take payments, even for those who have brought their pets there for many years.  Buy your prescriptions elsewhere - way overpriced.  Dr Smalley COME BACK. !!! My dog, Indiana, has been a patient of Dr. Smalley's since 2007. I followed Dr. Smalley from Northgate Vet to the Everett Clinic. Dr. Smalley has a great manner in explaining things, taking time to answer questions and he never made me feel pressured into any choices. As my dog aged, he offered recommendations, and commonly shared some of his personal pet experiences for insight too. I hands down trust Dr. Smalley with any of my animals. Recently I had to call in to "book" an euthanasia. First off, this is one of the worst appointments you can make as a pet owner. Heike took my call and handled it well. She listened to me blabber through my tears, allowed me lots of time to pause and regain my composure. She explained my options, and had to explain that my beloved Dr. Smalley was out of town. She did offer that Dr. Ryan Black (who I never saw with Indy, but did see around the office) was available and he could help me. She said that some schedule shuffling needed to be made, and she would call me back with a confirmation - and she actually called me back! She didn't upsell me on anything I didn't already want, and she allowed me to ask about paying for everything before the procedure was done. Her not asking about payment right off the bat made me feel like getting my pet care was just a bit more important than the bottom line. Fast forward to the appointment. I may have well booked personal time with Dr. Black and Jess, the vet tech. It's not like they were in a hot rush to get it done with. They took time to talk to me, to visit with Indy some, and even to allow me time to give Indy some extra marshmallows. They answered every question I asked, even the crazy ones. They allowed me to tell stories about Indy, and Indy blabber until I realized it was time...After my dear pup's heart stopped beating, they prepared to take him away. Jess took one last marshmallow and put it along side Indy. One more for the road. As horrible of a situation as putting your pet to sleep can be, I can only write that Dr. Black and Jess made it the most peaceful experience I could have ever asked for. When I get a new pup, I can assure you I will put it in the care of this vet clinic in a heartbeat. Until then, I thank them all for their diligent and respectful service to my Indiana. Read Less

Im disappointed in myself angry at Broadway! I was a new customer. I brought in my 3 giant breed dogs to Broadway 2 are older and Im anticipating their care of cost to increase dramatically from previous experience. I like the staff but was more than a little bent with recent events. They prescribed an antibiotic to help try to fight off a UTI for one of my danes. This medication is upsetting my danes stomach. I call it in and it took over 24 hours to return the call. The 1st call to was in the morning; it was returned early the next afternoon. The answer you prescribed another medication to increase his appetite. Wanting my dog to eat I said Ill pick it up on my way home. I was surprised to be charged $61+ for that medication. I was more surprised that was for 3 YES 3 Tablets. I go online a look at Drs Foster & Smith and see they only charge $30 for a box of 4. Yes thats right they removed one bubble packaged tablet from the box they gave me. Im not opposed to a reasonable markup for their overhead in purchasing and stocking the medication but I do not consider just over 175% a reasonable markup; Im betting Drs F&S are not losing money at their price. If that is how they choose to run your business I choose to take my 3 giant breed dogs to another Veterinarian. The office manager later followed up and did admit that taking 24 hours to return a call was unreasonable, they also offered to work with me on the cost of the medication. I paid it initially I will eat that cost. However they have lost my trust. They never made further contact to see how the dane was or if he had begun to eat. Ill be finding another vet clinic for my dogs.Read Less

I would recommend Broadway Animal Hospital to anyone who asks! The staff is all wonderful, the vets are all excellent and they charge very reasonable rates! Maybe because they don't waste money on big fancy offices! I switched to them during an emergency when my kitty got into some Lysol (I no longer use this product in my home! It's dangerous for cats) and the vet I had been going to for years would not work with me on the bill if I brought him to them. I had enough to pay most of the bill on my care credit. But if the costs went over I needed to wait until Friday to pay anything that went over. I called numerous vets trying to find someone to help. My kitty was very ill and foaming at the mouth. Finally I called Broadway, they were very sweet and said just get him in here so we can save him and we'll figure out payments when you get here. They actually cared more about saving the life of an animal than the other vets that said unless you can guarantee full payment upfront than sorry you have to watch your pet die a painful death! That was a few years ago and I will never go anywhere else. Because I know the people at Broadway obviously truly care as much about taking care of animals as they do about making money! Thank You Broadway for saving the life of my kitty!Read Less

At first she tried to send him home without any kind of bandage, even though he was dripping blood all over the floor, but I told her she couldn't leave him bleeding like that. I was surprised she would even consider that an option. Also, they seemed very unorganized. When I questioned them about an increase in the amount owed vs the amount agreed upon prior to treatment; the young lady got defensive and blamed me, saying that I misread the paper. I later noticed it was because they charged me extra after I insisted on the bandage. What I also love about Broadway is that they have two jars in the window and when you book an exam for your pet, they provide you with a token to put in one of the jars of your choice. Both jars are for non profit organizations. How many Veterinary offices have donation jars out for non profits that they donate directly to when you bring your pet in for an exam? I won't be going back. My dog started having blood in the urine last Thursday and I was referred to Broadway Animal Hospital by the spay and neuter clinic up the road. They made an appointment for the next day. I was skeptical upon entering the run down place, but the staff at the desk was friendly and handled my dog very well. Dr. Shepard was also very good with him upon examination. I left him for about an hour while they ran some tests and when I came back I was told that it was a stone about the size of a walnut and that he also had an infection. Dr Shepard stated that he needed surgery. As an unemployed student, I was very limited on funds. As a nursing student I paid very close attention to the examination and in asking questions about alternatives. I was pretty much told that surgery was the only option, and that it was a stone...nothing else was ever mentioned. I was notified the day of his surgery that it wasn't a stone, but a enlarged prostate. Alas, the surgery had already been done...a very unneeded surgery to a problem that only needed some antibiotics. It was pointed out to me that because there was no stone, I wouldn't be charged the exam fee for sending the stone in. Whoopee! When I started to question Dr. Shepard about being charged for an unneeded surgery and was there anything else that could have been done to avoid the surgery I was told that it would have cost me almost as much to have an ultra sound. I was told that I wouldn't be getting anything less than what I would have paid for if he had had the stone. Dr. Shepard explained to me that he had performed a rectal exam while I was there and found nothing wrong with the prostate. He did not perform it while I was in the room, as I watched everything for my own learning experience as well as this being a family member. As a former security specialist, I did my research on this before posting. An ultra sound would have been less expensive than the evasive surgery. A performed rectal exam would have revealed an enlarged prostate of that size. When he showed me the X-Ray, you could visibly see how light the ""stone"" was. Admittedly so by Dr. Shepard, and he stated that stones have more calcium in them so they show up darker on the X-Ray. His work was sloppy and incomplete. As Dr. Shepard fumbled through his explaining, I gave him one worded answers, as I could feel myself getting upset at the situation and had to bite my tongue at making him verbally aware of the anger I had begun to feel. I felt that as we said good bye...his response of ""Have a nice day."" was extremely inappropriate. I won't be taking any of my fur babies back to that place. I wouldn't have given it any stars if that were an option. Read Less

Dr. Gill and Dr. Shepherd are both wonderful-Dr. Gill fixed both my cats for free under the Joan Fund back in 2007, and they give my cats both the top notch care and keep the costs low. One of my cats had an emergency a couple months ago, and I had to rush him in-he was so sick he needed IV fluids, antibiotics, special food, etc. They did all his care with compassion, professionalism, great skill, and were quick to get him into an exam room. I was in and out quickly, and at minimal cost. Anywhere else, I would have probably paid at least $700 or more for the visit, and here, it was under $150, and his care was still excellent. They're always available for questions, and friendly and polite when I call, and are willing to be flexible with me. Being on disability, it's reassuring to know my animals will still get excellent vet care without them seeing dollar signs as soon as I walk in the door. I'm glad I found them, and will always go there for care & would highly recommend them to anyone. Read Less

I took three cats to Dr. Gill to have their teeth cleaned. The first one did fine. The second, a male, was a bit wobbly when he got home, but other than that appeared to be fine. A few months later I took the third cat, a female, to Dr. Gill for her teeth cleaning. When I brought her home and took her out of her carrier, I realized that she could not walk, was deaf, appeared to be blind and seemed to have lost her sense of smell. No one, including Dr. Gill, was aware of there being a problem when I contacted them. This is not excusable to me! I found a new vet and had this cat's records faxed to him. When he reviewed the pre-anesthesia lab work that Dr. Gill had done on her, he found that she had very elevated liver enzymes. Dr. Gill never informed me of this. Maybe she did not know. I would NEVER put a cat under anesthesia for a teeth cleaning if I had known that her liver was not in good enough shape to handle the anesthesia; and it was not. The new vet did all he could, but the damage done was irreversible. My sweet girl cat' s health declined rapidly and she died. A few months later my male cat started loosing weight, so I had his records faxed and found that he had been in renal failure for almost a year, but Dr. Gill had never informed me of this either. By the time I found out it was too late. His health declined and he died as well. One cat out of three survived the care they received at Broadway Animal Hospital. This is NOT a good record. I just got a kitten from the Everett Animal Hospital (they are horrible). They sent him off to this dump to be checked out and nutered. They told me that I should get a bunch of bloodwork done before he goes in for his nutering because he could die on the table or some load of crock. Its my first kitten so I did it! I wanted to make sure he would be okay. Well, when I get him back the bloodwork was SO expensive. I didnt get any special discount or anything for saving this little guys life. I mean, god knows Im going to spend another few hundred on his shots so a small discount would have been nice! Also, when I took him home his foot was messed up! I quickly called back to see what happened and of course "no one had any idea". No one saw it, so obvioulsy they arent taking as good of care of him as they should be, and if they did, no one let me know about, which just made me more angry. I had a fecal done to make sure there were no parasites or anything. They said they would call the next day. 3 days later I called them back and asked what was going on! She said he was nagative for worms or parasites and I told her "Really? Because I see worms in his poop right now!!" apparently tape worm isnt a parasite/or a worm? So they told me to go there and pay MORE money to get that taken care of. BITE ME! All the want is your money and they will do WHATEVER they can to get it! The place looks like a dump and the doctors look like they have down syndrome and sound like IDIOTS on my phone--my god, please go somewhere else!!! Read Less

We have two Puggles that have been cared for at Broadway and at the Northgate sister facility and the care is very good. The Broadway site is very clean. Everytime we arrive the facility smells like bleach and the care for your pet is good. We recently had surgery on one of our dogs and the follow up from the Dr's and staff has been great. Read Less

My person takes me to the vet doctor whenever I am hurting. We can always get an appointment right away, and never have to wait in the lobby with all the dogs for very long, (I am not fond of dogs). The Dr. fixes me up, sends me home with medicine, and I am feeling better in no time. My person is always super thankful that they are willing to work with her on my more expensive treatments, so that I can get the care I need right away. Our old friend Morty Kitty (RIP) was a patient there as well. We are loyal and grateful for the love and care all the staff has to offer. Broadway Animal Hospital will always be my choice for kitty health care. Read Less

My family and I had been coming here off and on for years. The staff are friendly, but they don't seem very experienced. The young lady that was suppose to wrap my dogs bleeding ear couldn't do it. They charged 22.50 (I believe) for a piece of white tape that didn't stay put.I'll be taking my pets elsewhere from now on. Read Less

Dr Smalley and his staff are awesome at what they do! I always leave there feeling I know what is up with my dogs, and what I can do to help them if they are sick. Dr Smalley even recommended a different surgery for my dog, when he himself could have done a surgery that would have been fine but not a long-term solution. That proved to me that he thought more of my pet than of his checking account. I trust this hospital with the care of my dogs who are more like my kids. They have earned that trust!Read Less

I have been going to Broadway Animal Hospital for roughly 9 Years. I could not ask for a better and more knowledgeable Veterinary staff. They are always very happy to try and get me in for an appointment as soon as possible. They also have great hours unlike most Vet offices, are open all day on Saturday. They treat all of my dogs, whether my own or foster dogs, as equal. I haven't come across any others. The pricing is excellent vs most Vet Offices in the Seattle area. I would definitely recommend booking in your dog or cat. Read Less

Read Less
