I was in and out of here with 2 dogs in just over an hour, that included annual wellness exams and all the usual shots. They were thorough, kind, and professional. They listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. They are well staffed, with two front desk people who were both quick to greet and offer me help, even knew who I was and which dogs I was bringing in though I hadn't taken them there before. The vet tech was helpful and available, and the vet was informative, caring, and professional. We will be using this place again!

Ok, so we're not the normal pet parents. We have three little ratty girls, all under the age of 3 months. That being said, it's pretty awesome that Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets sees our little girls. We've had to call around, a lot! We were so happy to find out they see pocket pets!!Our little girls were scared, and was still scared until we got home, but that just reflects their young age, not the service. Unto the point: their service was great! Kristine the doctors assistant was so sweet, as was Dr Crouthers. They handled the girls with much care, even in their wriggly scared baby-state. I won't go into too much, but suffice to say we'll be taking the girls there from now on. The only drawback was the prices. But I'm guessing that's the norm, especially when dealing with 'exotic pets'. But when you love your fur-babies, you just bring them to a trustworthy and caring place. Which, yes, Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets would be it.

I visited this place off of such great Yelp reviews, and they definitely met quality standards. The customer service was amazing. There were two ladies that truly showed their animal-loving side when they took the few minutes to pet him and give him treats (although he didn't eat them). I instantly felt comfortable and trusted them to care for my cat just by how they treated him. They took their time to make sure all my questions were answered and I knew how to go about giving my cat his treatment. I was thoroughly satisfied with my visit!

Super friendly staff! Very sweet and knowledgeable. I called and got my gerbil in same day (one of few who sees gerbils in area!) While waiting was offered coffee or cocoa. Front desk staff very nice and courteous. Dr. Mason is very gentle, offered us two treatment options and the vet assistant reviewed them with me. Still waiting for treatment to be administered but I have the feeling they will do their best. Quite pricey compared to my other vet, wouldn't mind too much considering gerbils are not super common except that there is no option for a payment plan. Very disappointing because it limited my options for treating my pet. Have long ties in community would be nice if that could be considered without doing a sketchy credit card app. No payment option is why I knocked a star off.

We've been going to Sacajawea for years. There are so many wonderful things I could share about this clinic. The main reason I continue to take my dog here is that they are prompt to get us in if an issue arises, and they are also super caring. It's not uncommon to receive follow-up calls just to check in on how things are going. I feel that they are thorough and really want to build a relationship with you and your pet(s) in their approach. I really credit them for helping me care for my dog during some particularly critical medical issues. The *only* reason I didn't give 5-stars is the price. You absolutely do get what you pay for and I'll continue to bring my dog here, but man, it can get expensive quick, even with being on the Paw Plan they sell. (So something to be aware of.) They are releasing updated Paw Plans tomorrow (3/1/17) which will include unlimited visits. However, this plan is about $10/mo higher than previously and unlimited visits doesn't include urgent/emergent issues. I haven't done the math yet to determine if I'll continue on the plan or not. But either way, yes, I'll absolutely be sticking with this vet and continuing to recommend them!

I brought my English Mastiff, Rosie, in for a second opinion this week on a lump removal surgery. I went from a second opinion to cancelling surgery at the previous vet and scheduling surgery here for next week. They have won me over! They listened and explained everything to me in a way my previous vet didn't. Rosie is normally stressed at the vet and very barky but here, she was surprisingly calm with the staff and Dr. Mason. They offer love visits to pop in with your dog for love and treats so the vet isn't always seen as a scary place for the pups. Awesome idea! Kudos too for the great web portal that has everything on file for your pet with easy access. With a family of 3 dogs and 2 cats, I feel lucky to have found them. Thanks to nextdoor.com for the great recommendation.

My family loves this place and took my dog in for me, they loved him and we're the first vet to actually give me what he needed for his skin problems. So my first time going in personally was to bring in my dying cat, and they were very calm and comforting. Not only did they get my kitty cremated, they also did a wonderful paw print mold for me and sent me a hand written card in the mail. They have a recommendation program which is always nice because it's easy to recommend a place that happens to be the best in Federal Way. I fully trust these people. They also have the coolest Web design on a desk top computer. Only con is not even Sacajawea, it's the traffic on the road making it hard to get out of the parking lot.

The entire staff at this office go above and beyond their call of duties to make sure our two pugs get the care and attention that we feel they deserve. They are so kind and gentle to my dogs and they truly care and have passion for what they do. I have been asked why we don't take our dogs to other "discount" places in Federal Way, and my answer is honestly always this: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. My dogs are always treated so nicely and the staff is always so helpful and knowledgeable about their services and any questions or concerns we may have. I never feel like my dogs are treated as just a "number" here but instead are treated with the care and compassion that we like to treat our dogs with ourselves. I cannot thank them enough! Also, their hours of operation are SO helpful to people that work during the week. Open until 8PM some days, which is PERFECT!
Our littlest pug, Claire was recently attacked by a pit-bull and we rushed her up to their office not too long before they closed. They immediately took her in, examined her, ran tests on her, gave her stitches, medications etc and helped reassure us that everything was going to be ok. They truly understand how much our dogs mean to us. They even called me the next day to check up on our little Claire, and unfortunately I was at work so I wasn't able to give them an update. Instead of leaving the conversation at that, the lady asked me if my other half was at home with Claire (which he was) and if I minded if she reached out to him to check on Claire. This to me, showed me they weren't just following up to say they followed up. They were truly caring enough to make sure our little girl was doing ok.
THANK YOU SACAJAWEA! Our little Claire is ok and on her way to making a full recovery thanks to you!

This has been the best clinic I've ever been to. My first experience unfortunately was an emergency run for my 12 year old cat's hearts failure. But they saw her right away with no wait and no hesitation. My dog had gone from vet to vet and no one could give him any working meds to help with his crazy flea allergy until this clinic. My dog went from looking like death to the cute puppy he's always been for the past 10 years.When I adopted a new cat, the shelter gave us the cat with fleas. Knowing how my other animals have allergies and it was uncool of the shelter, they gave us flea meds for our other animals too.I have never had to wait more than a couple minutes here.I've noticed in the lobby that they also see birds. They even offer plans which is perfect if you have a new dog or cat because it's only a few dollars more than just getting them spayed/neutered. The only complaint is could have with this place is not even the business itself, it's the road. The parking lot is on a turn and people drive likes jerks so it takes a while to get back into traffic.

We came in twice with our retired police K9 German Shepard. The first appointment was okay but I didn't feel very welcomed and the doctor wasn't very friendly. That I can deal with. But the second time we came in we had had an appointment for two weeks and we showed up 15 minutes early. We had our dog and he was nervous and scared. We had to wait 45 minutes while dogs and cats came and went. I heard two different people saying that their appointments were after ours but they were seen first. I wish Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets would respect our time and value our business more than this. If some explanation was offered to us then we would've understood but it's completely unacceptable to ignore the fact that we had an appointment 30 minutes ago.

The first time we came in everything was okay. Not great but okay. The staff wasn't very friendly and the doctor was aloof. The second time we came back we sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes while other folks who had appointments after ours were seen. We showed up 15 minutes early and had been there waiting before the other folks even showed up. They could've at least acknowledged the fact that we had been waiting so long and apologized. As dogs and cats came and went our poor German Shepard had to sit and wait patiently. Not the easiest thing for a 65 pound, nervous and worried dog to have to do. I just felt completely blown off and treated as a second class citizen here. I suggest you find another, more considerate place to take your pets.

My pet has been here seversl times and she's only three. The best thing about this place is the staff. They are very warm and very knowledgeable. They seem to understand what my cat is going through and are prepared for the unexpected-like when my cat pooped in their exam room.Needing an appointment for a repeat customer is a breeze. I've had a kitty emergency andI didn't needto worry about waiting the next day. She was scheduled immediately. The only drawback about this place is they seemed to be too focus on selling their paw plans and their services/meds aren't cheap. Keep in mind the pawplans may seem cheap but they have a $40 something enrollment fee. If your pet gets an illness, You won't be walking out of here happy.Also, a lot of their services costs slightly more than some of the vets in the area so do your research and don't be fooled. That paw plan is also limited to only four visits. This may seen like it's okay but when your furchild gets to visit them several times (like what happened to us), you'll beating your head on why didn't you go to that vet located in a popular pet supply store who offers unlimited office visits for a year.However, I suppose this is normal in the industry. It seems these pet plans are now the norm.

Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets is everything I want from a veterinary clinic. I own a Doberman, an Airedale and a Siamese cat. All three breeds carry special health interests and I was concerned about finding a vet that would be able to handle all three pets perfectly and I found that vet. Melissa Mason DVM is incredibly knowledgable, thorough and definitely has a way with animals. My pets love her and I trust her implicitly. I know my pets are in good hands when they are seen by her. The business is clean, the veterinary technicians a wealth of knowledge, receptionists are happy and friendly and the charges are open and upfront.

If you have to relocate, choose not to continue with there services or just cant afford the almost $60.00 monthly bill, you will NOT have a choice but to pay it. Just be very cautious with these people. They told me my dog needed several teeth extractions. After seeking more options/opinions, I learned that this is not the case. Which is why I got the insurance to begin with. Now I am stuck paying $56.95 a month for six more months!

They gave me the price over the phone broken down by costs.We made an appointment to go in later that afternoon. By the time we got there, they had called my existing vet and acquired my dogs medical history and already had it on file.The service we received was excellent. Everyone was very nice and professional. We didn't wait long for the appointment to start.Dr. Virgin saw us and one of our concerns is our dog has seemed to started snoring more and we didn't know if she was having a harder time breathing or not. Instead of jumping into expensive testing, she listened to her breathing and suggested that a few extra pounds on the pup may be causing the symptoms we are seeing (possible extra fatty tissue around her throat).While administrating the booster shots, the nurse was very attentive to my dogs level of happiness and continued to ensure that she was doing okay by talking to her and attempting to distract her with treats, so that she didn't have a harder time than needed (it reminded me of how a child gets a shot).The quote that I received was exactly the price I paid at checkout, which was under $200.I would recommend bringing your animals that you care about to this vet, they will give you the level of care that your animal deserves.

I have taken my purebred German Shepherd, Cocker Spaniel, 2 jersey woolly rabbits and my beloved boy Squishy Face to this veterinary Hospital..
Squishy face is a purebred Red Persian Cat. He came into my life as a stray around the year 2000. Dr. Harris told me he was an adult, so we suspect he is around 18 years old
When I put my rabbit down after 10 years. Dr. Virgin made me feel very comfortable and it seemed the most peaceful experience.
As Squishy Face reaches his elder years. Dr. Virgin and everyone at Sacajawea health care for pets. All these caring people are helping me get through another difficult thing. It is very hard to see your pet decline as they age and I have had to call many times to discuss grief and the next step.
Valuable and excellent customer service. I would highly recommend taking your pet to the best animal hospital that I know. Sacajawea Health Care Pets.

I have recently moved to the area and was looking for a vet that is close to my new location. With all the good things I'd seen about Sacajawea, I was very excited to try them out. I called to make an appointment and they asked if my dog was current on his vaccinations. I told them that I Titer and they replied that I couldn't bring my dog because they don't accept Titers. I was very sad to learn that they would prefer to over vaccinate then check to see if a vaccination was even necessary and then if so give the shot.
Guess I'll keep looking.

Sacajawea Healthcare For Pets is a fantastic place to take your pet, any pet, to for veterinary needs. 4 years ago, my girlfriend had a rat that needed medical attention and as we were turned down by multiple vets because they only take cats and dogs, we turned to Sacajawea. Not only did they give us the advice and treatment we were looking for, they got us in on a same day appointment and stayed in contact with us to make sure everything was going well. Now we exclusively go here any time we need help and the staff is always very happy to see their sweet little faces. It's nice to have our rats treated just like any other pet because we love our rats as much as any other pet. Again, I cannot over exaggerate how awesome Sacajawea is!

I was in and out of here with 2 dogs in just over an hour, that included annual wellness exams and all the usual shots. They were thorough, kind, and professional. They listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. They are well staffed, with two front desk people who were both quick to greet and offer me help, even knew who I was and which dogs I was bringing in though I hadn't taken them there before. The vet tech was helpful and available, and the vet was informative, caring, and professional. We will be using this place again!

Ok, so we're not the normal pet parents. We have three little ratty girls, all under the age of 3 months. That being said, it's pretty awesome that Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets sees our little girls. We've had to call around, a lot! We were so happy to find out they see pocket pets!!Our little girls were scared, and was still scared until we got home, but that just reflects their young age, not the service. Unto the point: their service was great! Kristine the doctors assistant was so sweet, as was Dr Crouthers. They handled the girls with much care, even in their wriggly scared baby-state. I won't go into too much, but suffice to say we'll be taking the girls there from now on. The only drawback was the prices. But I'm guessing that's the norm, especially when dealing with 'exotic pets'. But when you love your fur-babies, you just bring them to a trustworthy and caring place. Which, yes, Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets would be it.

I visited this place off of such great Yelp reviews, and they definitely met quality standards. The customer service was amazing. There were two ladies that truly showed their animal-loving side when they took the few minutes to pet him and give him treats (although he didn't eat them). I instantly felt comfortable and trusted them to care for my cat just by how they treated him. They took their time to make sure all my questions were answered and I knew how to go about giving my cat his treatment. I was thoroughly satisfied with my visit!

Front desk staff very nice and courteous. Dr. Mason is very gentle, offered us two treatment options and the vet assistant reviewed them with me. Still waiting for treatment to be administered but I have the feeling they will do their best. Quite pricey compared to my other vet, wouldn't mind too much considering gerbils are not super common except that there is no option for a payment plan. Very disappointing because it limited my options for treating my pet. Have long ties in community would be nice if that could be considered without doing a sketchy credit card app. No payment option is why I knocked a star off.

We've been going to Sacajawea for years. There are so many wonderful things I could share about this clinic. The main reason I continue to take my dog here is that they are prompt to get us in if an issue arises, and they are also super caring. It's not uncommon to receive follow-up calls just to check in on how things are going. I feel that they are thorough and really want to build a relationship with you and your pet(s) in their approach. I really credit them for helping me care for my dog during some particularly critical medical issues. The *only* reason I didn't give 5-stars is the price. You absolutely do get what you pay for and I'll continue to bring my dog here, but man, it can get expensive quick, even with being on the Paw Plan they sell. (So something to be aware of.) They are releasing updated Paw Plans tomorrow (3/1/17) which will include unlimited visits. However, this plan is about $10/mo higher than previously and unlimited visits doesn't include urgent/emergent issues. I haven't done the math yet to determine if I'll continue on the plan or not. But either way, yes, I'll absolutely be sticking with this vet and continuing to recommend them!

I brought my English Mastiff, Rosie, in for a second opinion this week on a lump removal surgery. I went from a second opinion to cancelling surgery at the previous vet and scheduling surgery here for next week. They have won me over! They listened and explained everything to me in a way my previous vet didn't. Rosie is normally stressed at the vet and very barky but here, she was surprisingly calm with the staff and Dr. Mason. They offer love visits to pop in with your dog for love and treats so the vet isn't always seen as a scary place for the pups. Awesome idea! Kudos too for the great web portal that has everything on file for your pet with easy access. With a family of 3 dogs and 2 cats, I feel lucky to have found them. Thanks to nextdoor.com for the great recommendation.

My family loves this place and took my dog in for me, they loved him and we're the first vet to actually give me what he needed for his skin problems. So my first time going in personally was to bring in my dying cat, and they were very calm and comforting. Not only did they get my kitty cremated, they also did a wonderful paw print mold for me and sent me a hand written card in the mail. They have a recommendation program which is always nice because it's easy to recommend a place that happens to be the best in Federal Way. I fully trust these people. They also have the coolest Web design on a desk top computer. Only con is not even Sacajawea, it's the traffic on the road making it hard to get out of the parking lot.

They are so kind and gentle to my dogs and they truly care and have passion for what they do. I have been asked why we don't take our dogs to other "discount" places in Federal Way, and my answer is honestly always this: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. My dogs are always treated so nicely and the staff is always so helpful and knowledgeable about their services and any questions or concerns we may have. I never feel like my dogs are treated as just a "number" here but instead are treated with the care and compassion that we like to treat our dogs with ourselves. I cannot thank them enough! Also, their hours of operation are SO helpful to people that work during the week. Open until 8PM some days, which is PERFECT!
Our littlest pug, Claire was recently attacked by a pit-bull and we rushed her up to their office not too long before they closed. They immediately took her in, examined her, ran tests on her, gave her stitches, medications etc and helped reassure us that everything was going to be ok. They truly understand how much our dogs mean to us. They even called me the next day to check up on our little Claire, and unfortunately I was at work so I wasn't able to give them an update. Instead of leaving the conversation at that, the lady asked me if my other half was at home with Claire (which he was) and if I minded if she reached out to him to check on Claire. This to me, showed me they weren't just following up to say they followed up. They were truly caring enough to make sure our little girl was doing ok.
THANK YOU SACAJAWEA! Our little Claire is ok and on her way to making a full recovery thanks to you!

This has been the best clinic I've ever been to. My first experience unfortunately was an emergency run for my 12 year old cat's hearts failure. But they saw her right away with no wait and no hesitation. My dog had gone from vet to vet and no one could give him any working meds to help with his crazy flea allergy until this clinic. My dog went from looking like death to the cute puppy he's always been for the past 10 years.When I adopted a new cat, the shelter gave us the cat with fleas. Knowing how my other animals have allergies and it was uncool of the shelter, they gave us flea meds for our other animals too.I have never had to wait more than a couple minutes here.I've noticed in the lobby that they also see birds. They even offer plans which is perfect if you have a new dog or cat because it's only a few dollars more than just getting them spayed/neutered. The only complaint is could have with this place is not even the business itself, it's the road. The parking lot is on a turn and people drive likes jerks so it takes a while to get back into traffic.

We came in twice with our retired police K9 German Shepard. The first appointment was okay but I didn't feel very welcomed and the doctor wasn't very friendly. That I can deal with. But the second time we came in we had had an appointment for two weeks and we showed up 15 minutes early. We had our dog and he was nervous and scared. We had to wait 45 minutes while dogs and cats came and went. I heard two different people saying that their appointments were after ours but they were seen first. I wish Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets would respect our time and value our business more than this. If some explanation was offered to us then we would've understood but it's completely unacceptable to ignore the fact that we had an appointment 30 minutes ago.

The first time we came in everything was okay. Not great but okay. The staff wasn't very friendly and the doctor was aloof. The second time we came back we sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes while other folks who had appointments after ours were seen. We showed up 15 minutes early and had been there waiting before the other folks even showed up. They could've at least acknowledged the fact that we had been waiting so long and apologized. As dogs and cats came and went our poor German Shepard had to sit and wait patiently. Not the easiest thing for a 65 pound, nervous and worried dog to have to do. I just felt completely blown off and treated as a second class citizen here. I suggest you find another, more considerate place to take your pets.

My pet has been here seversl times and she's only three. The best thing about this place is the staff. They are very warm and very knowledgeable. They seem to understand what my cat is going through and are prepared for the unexpected-like when my cat pooped in their exam room.Needing an appointment for a repeat customer is a breeze. I've had a kitty emergency andI didn't needto worry about waiting the next day. She was scheduled immediately. The only drawback about this place is they seemed to be too focus on selling their paw plans and their services/meds aren't cheap. Keep in mind the pawplans may seem cheap but they have a $40 something enrollment fee. If your pet gets an illness, You won't be walking out of here happy.Also, a lot of their services costs slightly more than some of the vets in the area so do your research and don't be fooled. That paw plan is also limited to only four visits. This may seen like it's okay but when your furchild gets to visit them several times (like what happened to us), you'll beating your head on why didn't you go to that vet located in a popular pet supply store who offers unlimited office visits for a year.However, I suppose this is normal in the industry. It seems these pet plans are now the norm.

Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets is everything I want from a veterinary clinic. I own a Doberman, an Airedale and a Siamese cat. All three breeds carry special health interests and I was concerned about finding a vet that would be able to handle all three pets perfectly and I found that vet. Melissa Mason DVM is incredibly knowledgable, thorough and definitely has a way with animals. My pets love her and I trust her implicitly. I know my pets are in good hands when they are seen by her. The business is clean, the veterinary technicians a wealth of knowledge, receptionists are happy and friendly and the charges are open and upfront.

If you have to relocate, choose not to continue with there services or just cant afford the almost $60.00 monthly bill, you will NOT have a choice but to pay it. Just be very cautious with these people. They told me my dog needed several teeth extractions. After seeking more options/opinions, I learned that this is not the case. Which is why I got the insurance to begin with. Now I am stuck paying $56.95 a month for six more months!

We recently moved from Lynnwood to Federal Way, so finding a new vet was on the dreaded list of to-dos.I called to get a quote on a round of shots for my dog. They gave me the price over the phone broken down by costs.We made an appointment to go in later that afternoon. By the time we got there, they had called my existing vet and acquired my dogs medical history and already had it on file.The service we received was excellent. Everyone was very nice and professional. We didn't wait long for the appointment to start.Dr. Virgin saw us and one of our concerns is our dog has seemed to started snoring more and we didn't know if she was having a harder time breathing or not. Instead of jumping into expensive testing, she listened to her breathing and suggested that a few extra pounds on the pup may be causing the symptoms we are seeing (possible extra fatty tissue around her throat).While administrating the booster shots, the nurse was very attentive to my dogs level of happiness and continued to ensure that she was doing okay by talking to her and attempting to distract her with treats, so that she didn't have a harder time than needed (it reminded me of how a child gets a shot).The quote that I received was exactly the price I paid at checkout, which was under $200.I would recommend bringing your animals that you care about to this vet, they will give you the level of care that your animal deserves.

I have taken my purebred German Shepherd, Cocker Spaniel, 2 jersey woolly rabbits and my beloved boy Squishy Face to this veterinary Hospital..
Squishy face is a purebred Red Persian Cat. He came into my life as a stray around the year 2000. Dr. Harris told me he was an adult, so we suspect he is around 18 years old
When I put my rabbit down after 10 years. Dr. Virgin made me feel very comfortable and it seemed the most peaceful experience.
As Squishy Face reaches his elder years. Dr. Virgin and everyone at Sacajawea health care for pets. All these caring people are helping me get through another difficult thing. It is very hard to see your pet decline as they age and I have had to call many times to discuss grief and the next step.
Valuable and excellent customer service. I would highly recommend taking your pet to the best animal hospital that I know. Sacajawea Health Care Pets.

We have been coming to the clinic since we moved to Federal Way in 2010. It's not easy to find a place that will treat guinea pigs and animals other than cats and dogs. We've always received great service and I'm thankful that there's a vet that will put up with a kitty who doesn't like her paws touched and guinea pigs who like to chew everything in sight.

I have recently moved to the area and was looking for a vet that is close to my new location. With all the good things I'd seen about Sacajawea, I was very excited to try them out. I called to make an appointment and they asked if my dog was current on his vaccinations. I told them that I Titer and they replied that I couldn't bring my dog because they don't accept Titers. I was very sad to learn that they would prefer to over vaccinate then check to see if a vaccination was even necessary and then if so give the shot.
Guess I'll keep looking.

Sacajawea Healthcare For Pets is a fantastic place to take your pet, any pet, to for veterinary needs. 4 years ago, my girlfriend had a rat that needed medical attention and as we were turned down by multiple vets because they only take cats and dogs, we turned to Sacajawea. Not only did they give us the advice and treatment we were looking for, they got us in on a same day appointment and stayed in contact with us to make sure everything was going well. Now we exclusively go here any time we need help and the staff is always very happy to see their sweet little faces. It's nice to have our rats treated just like any other pet because we love our rats as much as any other pet. Again, I cannot over exaggerate how awesome Sacajawea is!
