Incredible staff and service all around. My first German Shepherd is an 80lbs pansy and very vet-averse, but Dr. Hymel and staff are the best of the best and always make us and our fur baby feel great. We’ve tried multiple vets as we’ve moved, but always end up back at the Issaquah Banfield with this crew. They truly care and I’m always very confident in bringing my two GSDs and cat here. Read Less

Traveling from out of state and needed kennel cough vaccines for my dogs. Had to pay $46 exam fee for each dog plus vaccine cost. That’s fine. I understand that I can’t just walk in for a vaccine without paying an exam fee. This was on Friday afternoon. Saturday I noticed that my dogs anal gland was swollen. I was in Woodinville that Monday so took him to vet there and he has infected anal gland that required draining and antibiotics. I called the Issaquah location to see if I could be refunded the exam fee for Friday since I had to pay another exam fee Monday and felt like the vet should have noticed this when taking his temperature Friday. I was told that the exam Friday was only a “head to toe” physical exam for vaccinations and to identify the anal gland issue would require a comprehensive exam that includes a rectal exam. This was very visually obvious to me Saturday so I don’t see how it was missed during any kind of exam that Friday. Anyway, I travel frequently and had considered buying one of the Banfield plans but think I will stick with “local” vets as this business seems more focused on money than care of my pets or good will towards a customer. WARNING!!! If you took your pet to Banfield hospital and your pet is persistently scratching his or her ears, IMMEDIATELY take it to a trusted local veterinarian for evaluation. Get it documented. They punctured my cat's eardrum, after I made it very clear that I didn't want them to clean his ears for this very reason. They had previous owners complaining about that issue on Yelp.  I want to start a class action lawsuit against them.  Let's go after them, for our pets' sake! Read Less

My cat is totally deaf because their staff punctured both of his ears. A cleaning procedure that we did not request. ($$$, eh). Confronted their lousy care and their response was to give me a pamphlet for a specialty care clinic which their "Wellness Plan" did not cover. This is after their Chinese veterinarian refused any error for the clinic responsibility, refused to give me the phone number for the corporate customer service (he said "me don't know", while he was talking to them), and his exam consisted of clapping his hand and when my cat did not respond, kicking him to see his reaction. Wow, great care. Banfield never acknowledged their error or apologized. Read Less

Let me start by telling you a little bit about my pets. I have one dog, and two cats. One cat is orange and one is darkness. My dog is a mutt, he weighs 80lbs and loves to roll around in the dirt and grass. He is a Happy dog. The cats are just jerks. Anyways....I love Banfield in Issaquah because the employee's there are awesome and really care about my Dog! ..oh...and the cats. They make sure my Dog doe's not have fleas, and they have done a few surgeries to remedy eye problems, and skin problems. My dog looks and feels like a million bucks. They got him on special food too so his urinary system is nice and crystal free. My dog is happy because I take good care of him and brush him and stuff, but mostly because the vet assistants, the vet techs, and the Doctors just rock our socks! Oh.... and the cat's seem healthy too, hard to tell though....one is always outside bring home mice, and the other one won't let me pick her up. Its like trying to grab a thousand razor blades spinning a million miles per hour... Yeah....Darkness is healthy...that's a distant visual guess. :) Read Less

Okay, this place has had its fair share of bad reviews. I just moved here and went to this Banfield without reading the reviews. I was surprised to see so many crappy experiences but then again the dates go from 2011-2012. It is now 2014 and let me tell you the staff, Nick was very helpful and very knowledgeable about the wellness plan that I have for my anxious buddy, Tiger. Tiger's visit was for his pedicure, anal glands cleaned (gross) and refill on his Trifexis. Dr. Chung did a culture on his stool and noticed that there was blood. Dr. said he would call me with the results if there was a problem. Unfortunately my little buddy had some issue with his liver, Dr. Chung called not even 10 minutes after I left the clinic to let me know his condition and the steps to help him. He included the heartworm check without a fee. So I feel bad for the past customers who had a bad experience here. I didn't. I love my Tiger and wouldn't bring him back if I felt that he would not be properly taken care of.I'll return here again. I took a chance and it worked out for me. So this place deserves way more stars than it shows. Thank you to the staff and Dr. Chung for a great experience and visit. Read Less

Horrible care. Took our cat in for a routine physical. They recommended and "cleaned" his ear, puncturing both his eardrums in the process. The cat lost all sense of balance, could not eat, could not drink and was in lot of pain. Tried to get him back in for an emergency appointment, which they refused, telling us that its nothing to worry about. Saw all three of their vets over the next week (had to make an appointment for each) and none of them would "pinpoint" his problem, though it was obvious to us. What's worse, the cat was in obvious distress and condition was worsening but they would not treat him for any of the symptoms -- pain, loss of balance ... anything! Finally rushed him to another local pet hospital who diagnosed punctured eardrums and gave him meds for pain, vertigo, treated him for dehydration and other distress because Banfield dragged their feet on his care. Would say Issaquah Banfield has the worst care that I have ever seen -- had dozens of cats and have seen many veterinarians. This place just takes in the pets, keeps them in their cage all day (often returned soaked in their urine), do minimal care, but, they will try to sell you thier "Wellness Plan" and, at each appointment, some extra "procedures" that will pad their income. Avoid at all cost if you love your pet! Read Less
