Dr. George is an amazing doctor. She basically saved my cat after he was treated wrong by another vet. What I like about the practice is that you can truly trust them. Both Dr.George and husband are great people and very honest. My cat was recovering very long after the surgery and they always checked on him without any extra charges. They also have a boarding and I feel safe leaving my cat with their staff. My cat never stayed at the boarding for his last 10 years so leaving him for a couple days was a very hard decision but after the surgery he eats only a wet food. Even if some of prices might be a bit higher I will never go another vet anymore because health of my kitty is very important and I don't want to deal with big network vets anymore that don't care about your kitty. The kindness, compassion, and knowledge from Meadow's Cat Hospital in incomparable. I would recommend Dr. George and her team to anyone who only wants the very best for their cats. My husband and I moved to the area about a year ago with our 4 cats. Soon after we got settled in, my 12 year old cat, Charles, became very ill. To make a long story short, Charles wound up having a form of soft tissue cancer that had spread through most of his little body. We ultimately had to make the very difficult decision to let him cross the rainbow bridge. Dr. George and her caring team had done absolutely everything they could do to save his life, all the while taking the extra time to explain everything in great detail right up until the very end. Since then, we have taken our other 3 cats to visit for everything from general check-ups/vaccinations to more complex medical issues. Due to the knowledge and experience the team at Meadows has, they have always made us feel at ease no matter what the issue. Read Less

Dr Laura George DVM and her husband Dr Nick George PhD, are a wonderful team, and their authenticity and excellent healing skills are badly needed in the pet health business. They took over Meadows Cat Hospital from Dr Laramore recently, and my cat, Fafnir, and I are so very grateful. Backtrack to 2010, when the previous vet (Laramore) had made a terrible mistake with Fafnir which almost cost us his life, affected my health, as well as a lot of money so we never went back, but about 6 months ago, Dr Laura and Nick took over the business, and when they went through the medical records of all the patients, they knew they had to do something to right the situation. (Their words to me; not mine.)  They reached out to me, and asked if there was anything they could do to right the situation, despite the fact that they had nothing to do with Dr Laramore and weren't responsible for what had happened, they still wanted to make it up to us. As it happens, Fafnir was just diagnosed in November 2016 with small bowel lymphoma, and Dr Schreiner at Blue Pearl/ACCES was just about the only vet I had really trusted since the 2010 incident. Fafnir and I have seen Dr George twice in the last month, and we are so grateful for her expertise. They are helping me keep Fafnir's quality of life good, while he endures this fatal illness (which is inoperable). Last month was a free check up (one hour consult which was really helpful) and refills, and today, some weeks later, Fafnir got into a cat or raccoon fight, and was so whiney that I could barely touch him. It turned out to be a bad scratch on his back but Dr George and I both agreed he need to be sedated so he could actually be examined, and then administered medications as needed including pain meds (because of his bowel cancer, other types of pain are very bad). We also got a courtesy nail trim and fur groom! Fafnir is considered a VIP at Meadows, and gets amazing treatment, and the offer of free office visits plus discounted (at cost, I think)  meds for the rest of his life. I can't thank them enough for coming to my aid at this time of our lives when Fafnir needs more veterinary attention, and I am too finding it stressful emotionally and financially.  They really are angels in our lives when we need them, and I'm amazed that there are vets still out there with the outstanding ethics as well as excellent healing skills and bedside manner. To sum up, Fafnir and I have in the past, tried many other vets in the Issaquah, Redmond and Renton area, and Meadows Cat Hospital stands out radiantly amongst all others. They listen, they understand, they treat expertly, and they've gained my trust which is such a big deal. (I'm a Biologist so I tend to be very involved in knowing as much as I can to help take care of my beloved boy.) Thank you, Dr George and Nick _so much_ for all you've done. Fafnir is super grateful too, and we are looking into getting an electric fence to keep him safe in his garden from now on too. :) Read Less

Dr Laramore saved my cat, then 14 years old, when other vets wanted to do things that would have likely taken her. Corporate vets wanted to charge exorbitant fees to do unnecessary surgery for a cancer tumor that turns out wasn't even there, admitting she would not likely make it. Dr Laramore looked at my cat for 5 minutes and figured out exactly what was wrong (abscess tooth infection) and we hatched a plan. Today, as I type this out, my cat sits next to me at age 20. She still runs outside, still socializes with neighbors, and still purrs like a happy little karma engine. If it weren't for Dr Laramore's expertise, honesty, and genuine concern this cat would have been gone years ago. Excellent cat care. Wish they did dogs too. Read Less

I was calling around all the vets in my area after adopting (rescuing) a Sphynx and hearing about too many health problems that they commonly had, and I should also mention that I'm a crazy cat lady and this little guy may as well be my child. The receptionist that answered the second time I called (I talked to 2, both outstanding) was very knowledgeable about procedures and really knew her information without a "please wait, I'll go ask the doctor..." which was refreshing. I picked this place specifically after the customer service I had received, and the fact that they use much lighter sedatives (specifically, they don't use Ketimine for the procedure that my kitten needed- this breed is known to have poor reactions to it, apparently.) We went in for my cats check up (assuming the worst from the breeders he has been passed around) and the doctor was very articulate with everything he checked, and even gave me very helpful advise when it came to food selection, shots, etc. He was a concerned cat owner on the other side of the exam table- not a sales man, again, very refreshing. We even ended up not giving him a shot because it was simply unnecessary for my kitten. I ended up ariving late, to the last appointment of the day, and the staff and doctors still welcomed me and my cat with open arms. They even went over some extras (I'll leave it at "stuff") that I didn't expect in the first place- let alone now 30min after they were supposed to have left. Over all I am VERY impressed with this professional and family - like staff. I would absolutely recommend them. Oh! I should also include they were one of the most affordable clinics in the area for what we needed.. and that's coming from a grad school student (; My cat is now good hands, yours will be too.Read Less

I've been bringing my two cats here since we moved to the area 2 years ago. From the very beginning I was impressed with calmness and attentiveness of Dr. Laramore and his staff. My questions or concerns are listened to and responded to, even when I'm just stopping by to pick up prescription food. When lab work is involved, Dr. Laramore takes the time to explain the results and answer my questions. This might sound like a no-brainer, but it has not been my experience with other vets! One of my cats has a history of very bad behavior at the vet's office (mostly directed at other cats), so much so that another vet would only see my cat if she was first sedated. This same cat has no problems at Meadows Cat Hospital, which is wonderful because she has needed vet care several times since moving here. I've brought both cats to this vet several times and I appreciate how they are handled by the vet and his staff during exams and treatment -- no unnecessary roughness or callousness at all! Both cats are more comfortable here than they have been anywhere else. When I bring up a concern during exams, I'm not pressured into extra, expensive tests or treatments (and if something beyond routine screening is needed, I'm always told why it's important or helpful for my cats' care). I appreciate Dr. Laramore's approach and I'm happy that I found Meadows Cat Hospital. Read Less

If I could give 0 stars I would. My cat swallowed earplugs, and I took him in to the lovely staff at Meadows because they said they could administer H2o2 to help him vomit them up. They administered 2 tablespoons of H2o2 and Fafnir finally threw up the earplugs on the way home. They told me to expect a little more vomiting and then he should settle down. He continued to vomit. He no longer could hold down food. He vomited almost every hour for the next two weeks, and every few hours for several months. They thought he might have an upset stomach and gave me all sorts of medicine to help, which it didn't at all. I spent a small fortune there (which I could not afford being on disability) and eventually they stopped helping me or bothering to care. I was continuing to forcefeed a cat that was rapidly losing weight, starving to death, despite also going to ACCES, who at first were not sure what was going on. Eventually I got Fafnir under the care of Dr Schreiner who gave him an endoscopy, and discovered that the H2o2 had burned a hole in my cat's stomach. His stomach healed incorrectly - much smaller than normal - and he couldn't hold food down. Shreiner at Acces helped me stabilize Fafnir and put him on an anti-emetic (odansetron) which worked the best. Faf put on weight, and after a year I was able to reduce his odansetron to nothing. This would not have been possible without the constant care I gave him for over a year. I could not leave the house for more than 12 hours because of his illness. Faf still vomits and burps a bit, and I also had to spend a fortune on surgery for his teeth because of the stomach acid caused absorption in his molars, but he is with me thanks only to ACCES. Dr Laramore used an outdated procedure on my cat - he should have known that H2O2 is dangerous to administer to cats (only ok on dogs) ACCES NEVER USES IT and actually told me that a vet that uses it is a terrible practice. Despite the niceness of the staff here, they are pretty much incompetent and my cat would have died if I hadn't acted in time. I never received a refund nor apology from Dr Laramore. What they should have done was administer a sedative-emetic - which is more safe for cats. I sure hope they don't continue this practice of shoving Hydrogen Peroxide into cats' stomachs, at twice the safe dose. Read Less

There is no one else I trust with more with my little guy's health.  I am extremely particular with the veterinarians that treat my cat (when it isn't an emergency), and have never run across such a nice, honest, genuine doctor as Dr. Laramore.  I recently moved quite a distance away from Issaquah, and wouldn't bat an eyelash at making the commute to see such a good doctor.

Read Less

Dr Laramore has been honest, forthcoming, and very helpful in caring for my 16-year old feline companion. His cost is higher than other standard vets, though he worked with me on recommending only necessary visits. The Dr and staff care very sincerely about the cats that come in, and about the owners. They've been excellent and I only wish they only took dogs in because I can't find this great of vet care for my dogs. Read Less
