Love this place! Super friendly and knowledgeable vets and staff. Services are very reasonably priced and they have weekend hours as well. I found this vet after shopping around in Ballard for quotes on dental cleaning for my 20 lb dog. This place was half the price of the lowest cost in Ballard, and had great reviews. It was so worth the drive to Kent! All new patients have the option of a free exam, which is unheard of. Rather than paying to be a new patient, I received a huge perk!
I was quoted $130 and, no joke, that was the exact number I paid. The front desk ladies were very friendly, and had a human quality I appreciated; the atmosphere was casual without losing professionalism. I wasn't worried leaving my girl, and I could tell everyone there really loves animals. I had everything explained to me before and after the procedure, and even received a follow-up call the next day to see how my girl was faring after her treatment. Two thumbs up!

The vets and staff were wonderful and went the extra mile to contact me more than a few times during and after her recovery to make sure she was doing ok as well as ensuring I was coping. Recently moved to Renton & found this vet - SO glad I did. I had my 1 year old Maltese come in on Friday around 5:30 (they close @ 6, so bonus points for squeezing us in) for all his vaccination and rabies shots, an exam, and nail trim which totaled to $60.00 even. I was very happy with the price I paid given all the services provided. The coupons I printed were expired but they still honored the price since the coupons were still advertised on their web site.
The next day the vet called to check on my pup, which I was not expecting at all. I truly recommend this vet, very affordable & very high quality service :)

This is a terrible place. The veterinarian Shannon D. gave my friend€s dog a shot without giving her the full explanation and details of the symptoms. They only told my friend, who is 19, that the shot will help with Max's itching problem. No paper work was given to her after the shot. Max experienced an increase in appetite and extreme thirst. He wanted to drink water every 15minutes. This caused many accidents and it was difficult to leave him in the house alone for more than three hours without needing to use the restroom. It was hard to deny him water because he was panting. Before this shot, Max was great at letting us know when he wanted to use the restroom or eat. However, to my shock he had trouble barking. It was hard to see him try to bark when he did. It was softer and for a shorter duration. Even more upsetting, on 9/17/16 Shannon shut the phone on my friends mother when my friend went back to see what they could do. She told my friend with her little sister that if they don't like the service to get out of the clinic. She was asked to pay $60 for that rude and unprofessional check up. She was told to never come back and that she was "fired" from her service.

I recently took my old cat to Afford A Vet in Kent. I was interested in trying this place because I was short on cash and they give you a free exam for first time customers. My cats claws had grown into her front paws and I was afraid it would require surgery. The staff was very prompt in determining how bad the wound was and a very cheap $9 nail trim later my cat was So Happy! The only thing that cost me much money was an antibiotic but that is still cheaper then surrounding vets. The exam really was free though and my cat is so much happier. The staff was understanding, compassionate, took time with me, answered all my questions, great with my feisty cat and so incredibly affordable. I will come back here again and again. And if you read this post Afford A Vet, Thank you so much for what you do every day because without it, I couldn't have afforded to help my cat.

Came here last January to have my puppy vaccinated, micro chipped and neutered. We had been in here months prior to continue the vaccination sequence when my puppy was diagnosed with parvo. Hank managed through the ordeal and bounced back after a week of misery on his end. Unfortunately for us we missed out on his vaccination sequence and had to restart the whole series over. This in itself is understandable (nothing you really can do to control the circumstances) but we had a lack of communication from the clinic to myself that resulted in a wasted trip to the hospital.
For our neuter appointment the staff as usual were very polite and prompt in getting us checked in. The office is clean and well organize with dietary products on display for purchase. Our surgery was completed within a few hours and we were out the door for roughly $180 including full vaccinations, microchip, cone, standard sterilization of a 20 pound male and pain meds.
Though the surgery was a little pricey for my standards my only complaint against the clinic is that they did not trim my dogs nails while he was under sedation. To be fair I was not asked if I wanted this done nor did I actively request it but from my experience as a vet tech in Utah this is something we did as a standard procedure. The animal is already under and the process takes no more than a minute to complete. For $180 bucks out the door I feel the little things like this should be payed attention to and taken care of. Would I recommend for my and other animals to visit this clinic? I would with the only advice being that the owners detail specifically what they want done .

Just because it is a low fee clinic does not mean it shorts the medical care! The vets are caring and very knowledgeable. The staff is warm and helpful. Treatment is explained carefully and you are not pressured into high priced treatments. I recommend this clinic highly. The Federal Way one is good as well. We have been using this clinic since shortly after it opened and will continue to do so.

Our elderly cat has been on her last leg for months now & they are understanding about our choice to do "hospice" care at home which is so much more comforting for our little girl than what our last vet suggested which was hospitalize and surgery. Thats like operating on an 80 yr old!!
My only suggestion for Afford AVet would be training your techs not to cut off concerned pet parents in conversation if you are taking messages for the docs. Or maybe get answering machines if they are not trained in dealing with patients in crisis? Not everyone is cut out to be 911 operators.....it was apparent she wasn't writing down my message. What doesn't seem important to you is very important to a pet parent. Training will help with that.

Unfortunately my cat joined a fight club with the neighbors cat, resulting in a chunk of skin missing off of his skull. I ran my cat into Afford A Vet thinking the worst. They assured me that my cat was going to be ok. With in minutes he was taken in and looked over. After only a couple of hours my cat was stitched up and on his way home with his happy kitty drugs for the pain. You can't put a price on the loving care that was given to my cat during a difficult situation. They even called me the next morning to see how he was doing. I'm very happy with Afford A Vet. My cat has yet to leave my side.

This is a terrible place. The veterinarian Shannon D. gave my friend€s dog a shot without giving her the full explanation and details of the symptoms. They only told my friend, who is 19, that the shot will help with Max's itching problem. No paper work was given to her after the shot. Max experienced an increase in appetite and extreme thirst. The only thing that cost me much money was an antibiotic but that is still cheaper then surrounding vets. The exam really was free though and my cat is so much happier. The staff was understanding, compassionate, took time with me, answered all my questions, great with my feisty cat and so incredibly affordable. I will come back here again and again. And if you read this post Afford A Vet, Thank you so much for what you do every day because without it, I couldn't have afforded to help my cat.

Came here last January to have my puppy vaccinated, micro chipped and neutered. We had been in here months prior to continue the vaccination sequence when my puppy was diagnosed with parvo. Hank managed through the ordeal and bounced back after a week of misery on his end. Unfortunately for us we missed out on his vaccination sequence and had to restart the whole series over. This in itself is understandable (nothing you really can do to control the circumstances) but we had a lack of communication from the clinic to myself that resulted in a wasted trip to the hospital.
For our neuter appointment the staff as usual were very polite and prompt in getting us checked in. The office is clean and well organize with dietary products on display for purchase. Our surgery was completed within a few hours and we were out the door for roughly $180 including full vaccinations, microchip, cone, standard sterilization of a 20 pound male and pain meds.
Though the surgery was a little pricey for my standards my only complaint against the clinic is that they did not trim my dogs nails while he was under sedation. To be fair I was not asked if I wanted this done nor did I actively request it but from my experience as a vet tech in Utah this is something we did as a standard procedure. The animal is already under and the process takes no more than a minute to complete. For $180 bucks out the door I feel the little things like this should be payed attention to and taken care of. Would I recommend for my and other animals to visit this clinic? I would with the only advice being that the owners detail specifically what they want done .

Just because it is a low fee clinic does not mean it shorts the medical care! The vets are caring and very knowledgeable. The staff is warm and helpful. Treatment is explained carefully and you are not pressured into high priced treatments. I recommend this clinic highly. The Federal Way one is good as well. We have been using this clinic since shortly after it opened and will continue to do so.

Love this place. The vets & staff are very good and you know your pet is in good hands. They do not charge you for walking in the door or breathing their air either. How refreshing is that??

Our elderly cat has been on her last leg for months now & they are understanding about our choice to do "hospice" care at home which is so much more comforting for our little girl than what our last vet suggested which was hospitalize and surgery. Thats like operating on an 80 yr old!!
My only suggestion for Afford AVet would be training your techs not to cut off concerned pet parents in conversation if you are taking messages for the docs. Or maybe get answering machines if they are not trained in dealing with patients in crisis? Not everyone is cut out to be 911 operators.....it was apparent she wasn't writing down my message. What doesn't seem important to you is very important to a pet parent. Training will help with that.

Unfortunately my cat joined a fight club with the neighbors cat, resulting in a chunk of skin missing off of his skull. I ran my cat into Afford A Vet thinking the worst. They assured me that my cat was going to be ok. With in minutes he was taken in and looked over. After only a couple of hours my cat was stitched up and on his way home with his happy kitty drugs for the pain. You can't put a price on the loving care that was given to my cat during a difficult situation. They even called me the next morning to see how he was doing. I'm very happy with Afford A Vet. My cat has yet to leave my side.
