Outstanding! The care our cat received was wonderful, attentive and loving, thank you Dr. Reminga! We didn't have to wait long, honestly I don't understand the complaints about waiting, if it were their animal being treated, I doubt they'd appreciate the staff dropping everything so the latest arrival didn't need to wait, be real people! While there an elderly cat was brought in to be put down, it was in obvious agony, and we completely understood the doctors were needed immediately, the compassion here is fantastic. We couldn't get into our normal vet and needed someone to check a growth on my service dog before we left on a trip. I called this Vet Hosp and they had some emergencies (this was in the mid morning) but scheduled me for an appt at 3:45 that day. I arrived and they did the check in and initial workup for Westley. The assistant came in again and said they had some emergencies and it would be about 30-45 more minutes. I said that I had an appt and this shouldn't take long at all but they said, sorry. I went out to the waiting room and since it had taken ALL DAY, I thought another 30-40 mins would just have to be. At this late hour 4:30, I had no other choice!!
THEN, someone else came out and said it would NOW be at least 3-4 HOURS!!!!!!

Professional, expert, compassionate. These are the three words that come to mind first when I think about my experiences with AES.
Despite the loss of my beloved cat, I am very happy to have had the staff at AES care for her. They did everything they possibly could. They kept her as comfortable as possible, gave us every option, and kept us apprised of changes.
It's not cheap, but looking over the bills, I don't disagree with any of the charges. They worked with us to try options that would be less expensive but potentially very effective before moving on to more expensive options. We were given estimates for each visit and each set of treatments. They called us if it might exceed the estimates to get a new authorization, but most of the time they stayed within or under them.
I feel like this was the best possible place to have brought my pet. They kept her quality of life at the forefront of their considerations. They and we both agreed when it was time to let her go. They made the process as positive and easy as they could for both of us.
I was in there quite a bit over the course of a month, occasionally working remotely all day from there so I could get in a few extra visits with my cat. I overheard various conversations about the care of other pets and watched as they brought in pets. I saw behind-the-scenes, including the ICU several times. I was impressed with the level of care they provided for everyone and how much compassion they showed.
I would not hesitate to return with any of my pets. Read Less

My friend is a veterinarian and recommended this hospital & I can see why. Outstanding care & expertise with compassionate and caring staff. Everyone from the receptionist to the doctors truly care about animals and keep their best interest in mind. All the staff are experienced in their fields and clearly love what they do. My 10 month old puppy would most certainly have died if it were not for the AES team. He had ingested a deadly chemotherapy cream that typically kills dogs within 6 hours and has a 25% survival rate. They worked closely with toxicologists and went above and beyond to give my puppy a fighting chance. They kept me continually up to date with the good & bad. The entire staff was invested in him and did not give up! Dr. Reminga & Dr. O'Hanlon were amazing!! My puppy is home now and back to his rambunctious self. This is family owned hospital and you can feel the care and compassion - it is not just a business for them. I will be forever grateful to them for saving my puppy's life. Read Less

I have never been anything less than impressed with the team at AES. They are thorough, thoughtful, kind and above all else, truly professional. You can tell that the people here have their hearts in their work, particularly Sue at the front desk and Dr. Kristin Reminga (sorry if name is misspelled). I have even asked Dr. Reminga if she practices regular (non emergency) medicine because I would love if my pets could see her for everything, not just the bad stuff. Sadly she doesn’t, but it’s because this is where she’s meant to be, and it shows. While it’s unfortunate to ever have to see an emergency vet very often, it has caused me to form a glowing opinion of the folks here. Thank you all for the hard work you do to help people and their pets during the toughest times! Read Less

I have NEVER in my life had such a horrific experience at a vet or animal hospital ever. My King Charles Spaniel was breathing super heavily and kept coughing. There were 2 people ahead of me and I still waited 2 hours to even get seen. They did X-rays and said she "could have" pneumonia, a virus, or heart problems. They gave no clear answers for anything.5 hours later while still waiting, I asked to just give me my dog so I could go someplace else. They still kept her another 30 minutes after I asked to get her and I finally had to yell give me my dog or I'll walk back there and get her myself. When they finally brought her out, her entire front body was covered in alcohol- she reeked of it. I asked what happened and they gave no answers. They still charged me $1200 and gave no answers, while my dog smelt of rubbing alcohol and was shaking. I wouldn't take a pet snail here. I would not recommend this facility at all. I took our sick cat in and had to transfer him to another animal hospital (just down the road) a day and a half later because AES did not have the knowledge or the equipment to properly diagnose him.My main complaint, however, is the support staff. When I arrived and was waiting while they did tests on my kitty, the support staff was complaining to each other about the owner doing triage work because he is a DVM and I guess they thought he should be doing a higher level of service? I personally think it's great when an owner/manager tries his/her best to understand all levels he is able to of the business. The kicker, though, was when I picked my kitty up to transfer him in the middle of the night, paid $1100 to AES (for nothing) was sitting in the waiting area of the new hospital, and they called me, said that they had miscalculated my bill and I still owed them $35. $35 on top of the $1100 and you have to call me ten minutes after I leave, while I'm super upset about my poor kitty and waiting to get him admitted to a different hospital because you didn't do anything to help me figure out what was wrong?!? So angry with them!!And BTW, AES did blood work and told me they ruled out cancer, only to have the new facility do a biopsy and diagnose him with cancer. I have no idea whether the blood work should've shown that, but don't tell someone that you've "ruled out all the dangerous stuff" (that's a direct quote) only to be wrong. Read Less

Excellent service with friendly staff. The three staff we encountered today seemed knowledgeable and caring. We were taken into a room quickly and seem reasonably fast. Post-exam wait to get checked out is a bit longer than expected, but glad we are waiting now, rather than waiting to see a vet. Since meds here are more expensive than commercial, human pharmacies, they are calling our dog's prescription into a Rite Aid near our home. My last experience was using the orthopedic services for my baby boy who had a partially torn ACL, which later fully tore and resulted in accelerated surgery. I've never posted a negative review in my life and it pains me to write this one more than I can say. They may be fine for urgent care if your dog or cat is hit by a car or has some other orthopedic issue but they are not internal medicine specialists and they will not tell you that themselves. They admitted my sweet Butter and kept her for two nights billing me 3,000.00 and ultimately releasing her as her kidneys were failing. By the time we got her to a real veterinarian who specialized in kidney function, it was too late. My dog died because they not only did not treat her correctly, they administered two blood pressure medications and an anti-anxiety drug specifically contraindicated for kidney problems. My insurance company denied the entire claim of course and I am going to have to use my legal plan to recover the 3,000.00 I've been charged for them to expedite my dog's kidney failure because they refused to refund any of the charges.

Read Less

AES is the BEST! My dog had her knee surgery there last spring and the doctor (Dr. McKeirnan) did an amazing job and made her good as new! She's back to running around and happy like she should be!
Furthermore, last fall they brought her back from the brink of death from Leptosporosis she is happy and healthy as ever! I could not thank them enough. The doctor (Dr. Reminga), and actually the entire staff, are helpful, caring and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them. You won't regret going here!

Would absolutely return here again, but hope we won't have to. Read Less

I've unfortunately had to use AES more than I care to admit, but they're always available, which is great and the costs aren't that far off from a regular vet. Yes you may have a little wait, no different than a human ER.
My last experience was using the orthopedic services for my baby boy who had a partially torn ACL, which later fully tore and resulted in accelerated surgery. No this is not a cheap surgery, but the working vet hospital at WSU was just as much. I won't hesitate using them in the future. The doctors are wonderful and the staff is great. Read Less

Short staffed, I was there for 3hrs. Not their fault, but my only complaint. I wanted to make sure I wasn't overreacting so they had a vet tech check him out. Afterwards she was worried that he may have pancreatitus, so I checked him in. He ended up having severe gastric issues due to people food being fed, but luckily he doesn't have pancreatitus. The staff was professional and glad to see us, even after a delay for a surgery in progress with another patient. The roommate and I brought one of our cats in after he continued vomiting after hacking up a hairball that, if unfolded, would have been about as long as a hot dog, with a bit of blood tinge in the clear fluid. He stopped after we got there (and before the exam), but noted that such a hairballcould cause this. Last night our kitty girl suddenly got sick and it appeared her hind legs were paralyzed. I Googled emergency cat veterinarians and called AES. The doctor was thorough and quick and kind in telling us that her condition was extremely guarded at best. We had the difficult decision of ending her life and the doctor and her assistants were so kind and compassionate. It must be incredibly difficulty to always see animals in critical situations, many of whom die, but they handled us with great kindness. They will make a paw print in clay of your pet if you'd like. The moment I called and explained the situation I knew that this would be a great place for our pup. We were greeted at the door by name and immediately taken to a room. Our baby had to stay, but we knew she was in good hands. We frequently received updates and could call in at any time to check on her. Long story short is that she came home yesterday and is continuing to improve. The wonderful doctors at AES did everything they could to avoid an additional surgery and did!
