I was very disappointed in my experience here. I chose this vet after reading all the great reviews, but unfortunately this veterinary practice was subpar at best. We waited more than 30 mins over the appointment time to see the vet (turns out it was not Dr. Raja, but a substitute filing in for him). Heartworm test was extra (which is okay) but I had to follow up to get the results. If a customer is going to pay for a test, it is expected that the vet’s office would call/email the results. Also, after paying for the first shot in a series of two shots (booster is due a few weeks after) this office wants to charge an office visit fee in additional to the booster shot cost. My pup does not need to be “examined” again a few weeks later! She just had her comprehensive annual exam. Ridiculous. In addition, if you expected nail trims to be included in an annual exam fee, you would be incorrect. We saw the vet for less than 5 mins. I’m not actually sure what I paid for, but it wasn’t good service. Final thing: they do not carry the Lyme disease vaccine at this practice, so heads up. Dr. Raja is beyond a doubt the best veterinarian we have ever had the pleasure of using. He is kind, compassionate, and truly cares about our dog. He also helped us save a lot of money! My dog Romeo was diagnosed with a stage 3 Mast Cell tumor. Dr. Raja performed two successful surgeries, which even the specialist commented on how well Dr. Raja completed the surgery with minimal scaring and zero complications, which is rare for Mast Cell tumors. We had to move to San Diego... Dr. Raja personally called me to check up on Romeo's condition, even though he knew we were more than likely not returning to Seattle. My husband and I are super impressed with this place. We called after 5:00 pm to see if they could see our dog whom had only been there once before to board for the day. They got us in within 15 min. The Dr was very friendly and professional and great with our dog. He was not high pressure and didn't try to milk us for services she really didn't need. The exam rooms are very clean. When we were done we went up to the counter to pay and the gal told us we were good to go and didn't owe a dime! She said since it was our first visit seeing the Vet it was free. I would highly recommend Dr. Velu and his staff at Finn Hill Animal Hospital. Dr. Velu was so patient and kind with my cat who needed the majority of her teeth pulled due to Feline Stomatitis. I was so nervous for my cat, but Dr. Velu assured me that they would be gentle with her. The procedure went great and my cat recovered nicely within a few days.  Dr. Velu is now our new vet! Staff and doctors here are friendly, kind and will go out of their way to take care of your pet.  I've been to a few places around Kirkland and they are all good, but this is the place I'll continue to go.  Our dog is older and they've accommodated him when he's had some health issues last minute.  Highly recommend this hospital for any of your needs. We found an older dog and our neighborhood is currently fostering it while we try and find the owners. We brought him to FHAH and Dr Raja was so helpful. He clipped his nails, plucked ear hairs and prescribed ear drops for a yeast infection in his ears. He didn't have to do all that, but he did because he truly cares about animals more than making a profit. That says a lot.  He named the stray, Buddy, and has even said he'll help with procedures in the future for him (he needs teeth extracted and a cyst removed), which will be great. Dr Velu is SPECIAL!!  He is the first vet who truly cares about his furry patients and their families!  He does Not overcharge nor does he try to gouge you with unnecessary treatments!  He's absolutely honest and tries to help in so many ways!According to our neighborhood online forum, a couple recently came in to put down their elderly beagle for no apparent reason and Dr Velu down right refused to euthanize a perfectly healthy elderly beagle!   Unfortunately an argument ensued and the couple left leaving the beagle behind at Dr Velu's practice!  Awful and heart wrenching!  Dr Velu kept the beagle until he was able to place the beagle with a loving foster family via the beagle rescue organization.  He also donated his services for FREE for the rest of that beagle's life!  Who does that?  WOW!  Thank you, Dr Velu, for protecting and saving this beagle from his untimely demise!!Dr Velu is such a Godsend!  He's kind, compassionate, and extremely smart!  I'm so happy he opened his practice close to us!  He helped us with our fur baby...  Unfortunately it was too late to save our 16 year old puppy...  We were on our way to see Dr Velu and our puppy passed out in the car... We rushed her into the clinic and Dr Velu hurried over to help us....  He put her on oxygen and revived our baby, but came out to tell us that she was bleeding internally... We knew it was time.  He walked us through each step and talked to us in a compassionate manner...  He saw how broken up my husband was and reached out and hugged him.  It was a small gesture but it spoke volumes in Dr Velu's character!   When we get the courage enough to adopt another fur baby, we are absolutely going to Dr Velu for our fur baby's care!  We have already referred all our friends and neighbors to him and they are incredibly happy and confident in Dr Velu's  expertise and care!  We love Dr Velu! Especially after hearing  how he handled that elderly beagle's situation!   Someone posted that story on our neighborhood online forum to help place that beagle when it happened...  And to hear it had been placed with a foster family gave us pause that a wonderful Angel protected and saved that beagle's life that day....  If you're looking for a kind compassionate Dr who will go to bat for you and your family....  look no further...  Make an appointment to start this wonderful journey with Dr Velu and his fantastic staff! I've been taking both my dogs and my two cats to Dr Valu for the last couple of years. We had the unfortunate need to bring all 4 in at various times and each time, Dr Valu was able to seebus in a very timely manner...diagnosed them all quicklt and,accurately and restored their health....all for a reasonable price. Treating my three,mistrustful, once- abused rescue dogs during these past three or so years, Dr Raja Velu has earned my absolute trust, something rarely, rarely given. When Kenny badly sprained/dislocated his front shoulder, I needed a vet well-practiced in chiropractics, accupuncture and natural medicine as well as dealing with fearful dogs. I read reviews and headed to Finn Hill and Dr. Raja. Through other doggie calamities, he has never, ever disappointed. Once I called on Sunday to leave a message and Dr. Raja answered immediately and advised and calmed me. Last week he stitched up my little gal's horribly mangled ear so that each crease at the base is now still like the original crease. My guys trust him and so do I. He's one of the most knowledgeable, caring, generous with his knowledge vets I've ever known. And he listens carefully to the owner and and carefully checks out the dog before offering advice and suitable treatment. His charges are not unreasonable. The front desk/asssistant (one of them) is less than helpful or knowledgeable, so I'd advise if you need emergency advice and it's not forthcoming, talking to Dr. Raja or asking to have him call you back. I drive from Richmond Beach/Shoreline to Finn Hill--a good distance--and consider it more than worth the time and gas.-I just posted this to FH's FB site--and same as one I posted on YelpRead Less

I would give more than 5 stars to Dr. Raja if I could! I brought there my 17 y.o. doggy, Nitro, to have an opinion about cataract removal and dental cleaning. Dr. Raja immediately advised against the eye operation considering her old age and he didnt want to stress Nitro out with invasive and expensive test considered unnecessary. He as being really clear and honest from the beginning putting my dog psychological and physical health first, as every good vet should always do! About the dental cleaning, that one was definitely necessary.. and so she had it. Granny Nitro had a couple of bad days after the procedure because of the teeth extractions, but than she was good again and her smile was super white and clean like when she was a puppy. Dr. Raja did an amazing job with my little one and he was very helpful every time I had a question. Plus, there was no surprise at all when it was time to pay the bill. Like every veterinary procedure even dental cleaning is expensive, but here youll find the lowest price in whole Kirkland. I emailed lots of vets, their prices were just crazy or not competitive and they didnt have such good customers reviews as Finn Hill Animal Hospital does. Last but not least, thanks also to the staff! April call me the day after the dental cleaning to check if Nitro was fine and see if I had any question. That was so kind and professional! Dr. Raja looks after all our pets, from an aging dog, a middle-aged cat and a young hamster. I like that he blends traditional and holistic medicines to help our wobbly dog be flexible and comfortable in her golden years. He set a broken leg on our hamster (hamster wheel accident), and is delightful with my budding veterinarian encouraging her to study hard and work with animals. Amazing! I have a 15 Cavalier Spaniel that is near the end and I have been to several vets due to her deteriorating health but I have never experienced such a warm and genuine vet and staff as Dr. Raja and his assistant. His prices are very fair, much lower than my previous several vets. Also, he does not charge higher prices for coming in after hours for emergency services! I am amazed at this and I feel it's indicative of his dedication. My family and I are very grateful that we found Dr. Raja at this point when our doggie needs the most amount of care.
