I was amazed by the way how smooth they handle my dog to do the eyes tests and examination without making him feel scare or anxious. I really appreciate how comprehensive Dr. Zirofsky was explaining me his glaucoma issue and treatment. The eyes drops has made a big difference in Coco's mood for good. I cannot say enough nice things about this facility and the amazing, caring staff here. I was always nervous about seeing a specialist because of the price and wondering if they were going to suggest unnecessary medications or surgery. That was not the case at all here. First off the front desk staff is extremely welcoming and genuinely nice. They not only make sure the pet is comfortable but also the owners; offering water, coffee and cookies! Something else that I was surprised at is when you are scheduled for your appointment they actually see you at that time and there was very little waiting time in between and this is based off of multiple visits. Then the vet techs were so amazing. They were friendly, kind and were genuinely caring and loving with your pets. They are also extremely knowledgeable. Then Dr. Jones comes in and is also amazing, nice, friendly and kind and really cares about the animals and the owners. She's very honest about what she suggests and it never felt that she was suggesting things that were unnecessary and even said things that could be done but didn't have to be immediately and could wait to see how everything else goes. I found the prices very fair and not over the top. And today for our recheck they provided a small stocking with my dogs name on it. It was very sweet and showed they truly care. Dotty wants to THANK Dr. Annajane Marlar who SAVED her sight! She is the most awesome understanding canine Ophthalmologist I have ever met! Care received at the clinic was worth the 2.5 hour drive south for the surgical intervention given to this beautiful animal. Dotty had the worst bilateral corneal abrasions of any dog. After a 4.5 hour surgery and 3 weeks of recovery Dotty has the most beautiful brown eyes and able to see again!!! The staff is friendly, accommodating, professional, and reasonably priced! Both the staff and Dr. Victoria Jones were superb.  The waiting area and treatment rooms were clean and modern in appearance as well as function.  Free coffee, a pleasant disposition and a warm smile were offered by the front office staff members.  Our wire-haired dachshund had a corneal ulcer that we expected to require surgical intervention, but Dr. Jones thought a Q-tip debridement plus eye drops for a week would do the job.  In fact, the corneal ulcer cleared up completely after a week and hasn't recurred.  Dr. Jones saved us a lot of money by not recommending surgery immediately.  I am a retired physician who chooses medical care for my family as well as my family pet carefully, and I can recommend Northwest Animal Eye Specialists very, very enthusiastically.  We were provided with a thorough explanation of every aspect of our pet's care by Dr. Jones, along with an informative and helpful hand-out, plus a carefully itemized bill and clear, complete discharge instructions.  This clinic is also accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association, the best and most demanding accrediting organization for veterinarians in America, which provides the most important reassurance of quality care available to pet owners.  First class in every way! The staff here was absolutely fabulous. My little boston terrier had punctured a hole in his cornea and they fixed him RIGHT UP. Not only that but they were hasty (in a good way) to push things along so we could get out in time to avoid fees relating to staying after open listed hours. Immediately following surgery, we had a related incident that sent me into a full blown panic. I have never driven up to kirkland in that short amount of time! The doctor that met us there was so amazing and understanding (nothing like comforting a pet mom in tears im sure) and again, included it as the post surgery follow up.  Overall, for both the Renton and the Kirkland facilities, i give this place an A++ for taking fabulous care of my precious boston. Top notch! I am extremely glad we went with Northwest Animal Eye Clinic. From my initial call all the way to checking out from my dog's surgery, everyone was so kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and professional!  I was able to get my dog seen within a week of my call and surgery 5 days later. They wanted to ensure that my dog's quality of life was not delayed. Dr. Jones knew how much we loved our boy and how much we were nervous with him having surgery as a 12 year old bulldog. She calmed me with her professionalism and eased any anxiety I had.  What was really great also was that it was quite obvious that she and her assistant studied my regular vet's notes prior to the initial exam. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Victoria Jones and the staff at the Kirkland Northwest Animal Eye Specialists. I originally called the emergency line because of my puppy's progressing eye infection and they were able to fit her in to their extremely busy Saturday schedule the next morning. I work inflexible hours but they were accommodating with pick-ups and drop-offs which allowed my dog to get the care she needed as soon as possible. Dr. Jones and Michelle and the other staff members treated her with genuine care and kindness, keeping her calm during difficult procedures and showering her with lots of praise. There's probably about 7 cars worth of parking in front of the building and to get out of it, it can be pretty annoying when you leave during rush hour. The nurses are friendly when they bring you to the back and always called my dog by her name. The doctor and the nurses both are knowledgeable and ensured that my dog had the best care possible. They made sure that I understood what cataracts and glaucoma is and gave me the different treatment options. The services are kind of pricey, but with the high quality service, it's worth it. (My experience is with their new Renton location, but I didn't see a listing for it so I wrote it here). I was referred by my primary veterinarian because my dog is having some vision problems and they were able to get us in just a few hours at their Renton location after I called to schedule an appointment at their Kirkland location. The receptionist I spoke to was so sweet! She explained that my dog's condition might be classified as an emergency in such a calm way that I didn't freak out.It ended up being a non-emergency, but unfortunately our little pup is going blind. Everyone we interacted with was warm, professional, compassionate, and very patient both with our dog (who was a little scared!) and with me and my wife. Yes, it's a bit expensive compared to a general practice vet, but they did a very thorough series of tests with what looked like very expensive (brand new!) equipment and I never once felt that the examination price was unreasonable. They could tell we were a little shell shocked by the news, and they answered all our questions and made us feel about as good as we could considering the circumstances. I originally came here several years ago with an older Australian Shepherd, who had visible cataracts on his eyes. After a full assessment, we decided to have the cataracts surgically removed. This clinic did the surgery, and did a lovely job, saving my sweet boy's eyesight. Maybe a year later, we noticed the dog seemed bothered by one eye, and of course, it happened on a Friday night after the office had closed. I called the clinic, received a return phone call, and based on what I described, ended up rushing him in for an emergency exam - his eye had begun to swell, which they brought swiftly under control with eye medication. Their quick action, after hours, saved my boy's eyesight (and probably his eye).That dog passed away, and we recently adopted another Aussie. I noticed some discoloration in his eye, and brought him in - just for peace of mind. They did a thorough exam and determined there was no problem, just what I needed to hear.The doctors and vet staff are very good with dogs, and very good at answering questions and explaining things. It's not cheap - specialists never are. But the care my beloved dogs have received there has been well worth the cost. Read Less

They didn't run on time, but not many doctors' offices. When my dog came back from her procedure, they even gave us a little insulated bag to transport her medicine in.
