They seem to be a hit or miss place. Well, it was miss for us. It took me awhile to write this review since we went in. It really felt like they were up-selling care, not saying the people working at that location didn’t care themselves...it just had that weird corporate vibe. One of the hardest animals to care for are feral fragile kittens. I have experience in this area and I knew what I needed but they did not do as I asked. They did try their method as I was desperate... to save this little life...but what the kitten needed was antibiotics stat, Metronidazole.05ml to calm the intestines down along with the fluids they gave it. Plus, enough to take home for the rest of the kittens. So if you get sick kittens that are dehydrated, malnourished, have worms, runny poop and not thriving: Tip , get plain Pedialyte first (lots of how to by weight on the web), keep the kitten warm is a must. Next go to a regular vet and ask for : antibiotics, metronidazole, cerenia (for sever vomiting- 1/4 tablet 16mg), dewormer which can cause tummy upset if infested badly. Kitten or cat high calorie supplement tubes. Ask for some syringes at the pharmacy, it makes life easier (it has corn syrup which is great for kittens with gray gums) Also get some A/D canned food from your vet. After week of around the clock care - kittens are alive and well thanks to my regular vet. See More Read Less

We had as great of an experience as we could have when our poor cat was hit by a car. We took Charlie into the office as soon as we found him and he was whisked back by a waiting tech to be evaluated by the emergency veterinarian, Dr. Gwinn, who later came out and talked earnestly with me about how he was doing, the likelihood of his recovery, and the road ahead (while handing me tissues). Once we got our boy home a few days after surgery, the techs were wonderful about tal...king us through several calls about ongoing concerns. We felt like we had good continuity of care with our surgeon, Dr. Stockdale, who walked us through every step of Charlie's sometimes-difficult recovery and even made phone calls to follow up. We felt like we knew what we were getting into with the pricing, with estimates that gave us the low and high end of anticipated treatment. Our story had a very happy ending and it's due in large part to the great Seattle team. Thanks gang, from our family and a happy Charlie cat! See More Read Less

I brought my 16 year old cat in for breathing problems amongst some other issues (not eating, wobbling, etc). After running some tests, it was determined that very little could be done for her and euthanasia was the most humane thing to do for her. It was absolutely heartbreaking. But the care I received from Dr Buikema was exceptional. He was compassionate, professional, thorough and patient. I could not have made it through such a difficult experience without someone like him, and the compassion that was shown by the clinic. I am forever grateful for that. Rest in peace my sweet Chloe. We've been coming here at the recommendation of our general vet for over 5 months and we're thrilled because our dog had never received such excellent care as she does here. Dr. Meuller is her cardiologist, she's amazing, but the internist, the techs, and the administrative staff are just as wonderful. We trust them with our dog's life, you can, too. Read Less

If I could give this practice no stars I would. They failed to treat my dog’s obviously infected eye after i told them several times to provide treatment. By the time they did start antibiotics the ulceration on her cornea exploded. The eye had to be removed. This entire fiasco cost me nearly $5;000. They ran all sorts of expensive tests while doing nothing else accept adding to the bill. With the added expense of paying an eye specialist at a different practice to remove the eye, it was a sad and expensive experience, I would never allow this facility to care for any if my pets again. My normal vet is no longer referring patients to this facility because of this incident. Read Less

We had been recommended to come here after our Italian greyhound had been sick without sign of improvement. Upon having an ultrasound done we found out she had cancer in her liver spline and stomach. The technician said she could do a fine needle aspiration to check if there was internal bleeding. Normally it would be about $200 but she offered to do it without charge due to the situation. Needless to say we had it done. Afterwards. Reception charged us anyway. Even though the technician said it wouldn't be on the bill the reception said it wasn't her choice and that she had to charge us. Did not offer anything at all. Read Less

Last night we had to bring my sweet 3 year old poodle mix in because he wouldn’t stop vomiting all day. The staff was amazing and so sweet. There was another family there who was sobbing in the lobby and you could see and feel the compassion they had for them. My sweet boy had to spend the night but before I left they allowed me to go say good night to him. This morning when I went to pick him up the vet tech was telling me what a good boy he was and how she held him while doing some paperwork this morning. The icing on the cake, which has never happened to me anywhere ever, they gave me a partial refund because the low estimate that I paid for had money left over. I have never in 20+ years of owning an animal received a refund for services rendered. I hope I never have to go back for a pet emergency, but if I do I will in amazing hands. Thank you! Read Less

We turned to Seattle Veterinary Specialists due to their experience in surgical orthopedics. Nemo was having recurring knee dislocation and needed surgery in order to regain his quality of life. After the first surgery, the graft became infected which wasn't detected and took weeks until it was caught. The second surgery was meant to clean the infection out completely. Instead of being performed by the qualified vet we had worked with and met, Seattle Veterinary Specialists had an intern/resident perform the surgical clean out. Needless to say, the third surgery was a limb removal which drastically changed his quality of life and not for the better. Seattle Veterinary did take responsibility, apologized, and comped the last surgery. I can't help but thinking how he would have had a better quality of life had the surgeon not been in a meeting and had actually been in the operating room. Read Less

Such a great practice! Referred by my vet for a broken foot and they've taken the best care of my fur baby! They're communicative, caring and oh so kind! All the staff is great and friendly; you can hear it in their voices when answer the phone, I truly just love them! They even had a dog bed room that my little girl was more than happy to try out. They did some tests and followed up with me to discuss concerns so I could follow up with my vet and the surgeon took the time to speak with me & go over x-rays/treatment plan and they've called to check on her as well. I thought it was unusual that even during a cast change the surgeon came out to share that it was healing as they liked - thought that was really over & above when you'd normally just see or speak to a tech. I had to bring her back in when a cast was causing discomfort, they changed it right away, no appointment & best of all, NO CHARGE. It's really comforting to know that there is an emergency hospital/surgery center nearby that truly loves our animals like we do and seems reasonably priced when others would charge a fortune for emergency care! The procedure(s) ended up costing less than the estimate so I have a credit on my account to cover the inexpensive weekly cast changes!But...as much as I appreciate and love how great they are here, I hope we never have to visit again! My 10-year-old corgi was diagnosed with lymphoma on Monday. Our regular vet sent us over to Seattle Veterinary Specialists immediately to get him stabilized and it was an awful experience. We were there for more than 5 hours and the estimated times to get more info - or our dog back - kept changing. I understand that they're an ER, but that's just awful. Their initial estimate was nearly $3,000 - before ANY treatment of his cancer. We took him home overnight without much instruction - that arrived in the PDF medical record emailed later without any context. They ran some tests and said they'd call with results Tuesday (yesterday). Again, the experience was not great. I had to call three times over 6 hours, repeatedly being told I'd get a call back right away, and finally being put on hold for ~10 minutes for a doctor to come on the line and say yes, it's lymphoma, and it looks bad. She didn't explain much, so I'm not sure why they told me to call for those results. Fortunately, I have been able to transfer ongoing care to a different oncologist. I felt that SVS would pressure us into spending thousands and thousands of dollars on our dog's treatment without considering all the variables - everything about our experience Monday evening felt like a shakedown. I'm trusting my gut (and dozens of reviews here...) on this one. Read Less

If I could choose zero starts, I would. Took my kitty in for a routine procedure of pulmonary fluid aspiration, and as I was waiting for Dr. Bryan Bottorff to finish, he came to the room at told me that something terrible has happened and Frankie will not make it and I need to come and say goodbye. I was in total shock and obediently walked back to the procedure room and held Frankie while he died in my arms. Apparently, Dr. Bottorff's hand "slipped" and the needle pierced his heart. And he claims to be a cardiologist. Of course, animals are just "property", so Dr. Bottorff simply said this had never happened to him before (it was all about him) and the very sympathetic technician put Frankie in a little cardboard coffin and sent him home with me. I am sure there are other good vets at this place but some (also from reading other reviews) should have their licenses revoked. I know we will never step foot here again. We have missed Frankie for almost 2 years now. This should have never happened. The emergency clinic in downtown Redmond is much better. Read Less

I found myself here unexpectedly after a semi-routine visit to my regular vet sent my friend and I to Seattle Veterinary Specialists in Kirkland with a very cranky cat in tow. It is some place I never wanted to go, but I wish to share my experiences with you. First, my cat's vet called ahead to let them know we were coming. I would strongly recommend that. At that point in time they thought my cat's heart was failing. So, upon entering my cat was immediately whisked away. It reminded me of a real hospital at that point where the urgency was not only a claim, but enacted in every way. They collected the information I could provide and then they escorted my friend and I into a room. In the entire time I was at that location I sat in an exam room twice and neither time was my cat with me. I had the distinct impression that I was there because I was visibly distraught and the prognosis could potentially be worse. Speaking of visibly distraught - I was in blubbering tears. I was not ready for my beloved pet to pass away. She is in her middle years, not her elder years, and she seemed mostly fine except for this breathing problem she was experiencing. Yet, the staff was completely respectful and sympathetic. They never made me feel like the blubbering mess that I was.My cat was admitted overnight where they did a battery of tests. They frequently kept me updated throughout the process and was very forthcoming with all the pricing. I ended up spending less than what they estimated. Was it cheap? No. But considering the tests - an ultrasound, an echocardiogram, blood tests upon blood tests, a few biopsies, and IV and medication - it was cheaper than I thought it would be. Unfortunately the cause of her problems was not determined, but I am impressed with them because I later found out that my primary vet wanted another test done that was very, very expensive and this location declined it because they did not feel that her symptoms drove the need for that particular test. I don't know if I was clear minded enough that if I had been presented with that option I would have known enough to say no. It would have confirmed a theory, but it would have done nothing to help my cat's health. The one complaint I had was when my cat was discharged there was some confusion which resulted in us waiting an extra 40 minutes while the front desk communicated with the vets. The paperwork that I was told I would be receiving never happened, but I believe it was their anxiety of getting us out since my cat was not very happy and I would not describe her as an ideal patient. Overall I was very impressed and would recommend this location. Read Less

We took our cat to SVS per the recommendation of our Vet here in Everett due to increasing lethargy, no appetite and vomiting. Β The facility is lovely and only a15-20 min. drive from Everett to Kirkland even on a holiday weekend. Β We were met by friendly, helpful people throughout our visit, from registration to the nurses, diagnostic staff and physicians. Β Every step was explained including costs for procedures, overnight stay, etc.Luckily we were able to take our cat home the next afternoon with explicit written instructions on how to care for him, what to watch for and the ability to call if we had questions or concerns. Β This morning we needed to give our cat a drug that would help him to eat and I lost the dose down the sink which meant no dose for tomorrow, a holiday. Β I called SVS and spoke with someone in Registration who confirmed the medication I needed and she said she would call me back on when I could come get the medication.A couple hours later Cindy from the Emergency room called and said first of all I should have received enough medication for several days which would be rectified and then she confirmed where we live and said she lives near us in Everett and could bring the medication to me when her shift was over in 3 hours. Β What a wonderful offer from Cindy! Β We met in the parking lot of our complex and I could not thank her enough for going above and beyond. Β Thank you Cindy and SVS staff for your excellence in providing such great care. Β My husband and I are very appreciative for your professional yet warm and caring attitude.P.S. Terrible experience! My daughters kitty cut the webbing between his toes and we couldn't stop the bleeding. Our regular vet wasn't open so we came here. They told us the webbing skin was too thin to suture, so they used surgical glue. The vet asst brought him back after the glue and and started to send us on our way. I then noticed he was still bleeding, droplets on the floor. Back she took him for more glue. Daughter took her kitty to her regular vet today and needless to say he wasn't happy! They have him in surgery now to fix it properly with sutures! Similar situation happened with one of my other cats. They did a patch job, costing hundreds of dollars, only to take it to my own vet to have it properly fixed! Only reason they were brought there is because their regular vets weren't available. We have been here for the neurologist and while she was great and has helped, customer service with the ER has been not so great. Multiple times she has been brought in during a seizure and it is usually hours before we actually get to talk to a doctor and they never did truly pay attention to the symptoms of her seizures. Then she had a serious issue that hospitalized her for 3 days. Kidney's and liver values were very high. After 3 days hospitalized and several thousand dollars we were sent home with meds and told to do follow blood work a week later. We had a different vet do the follow up blood work and send the results to them, but when i called, they wouldn't discuss this follow up work with me because the ER doesn't continue care and i should set up an appt with internal medicine. In other words, until you pay us we can't give you any more advice. They also said i should ask my primary, who was notthe one who had been treating her, they have. They couldn't take 2 minutes and look at the blood work and tell me whether or not she should continue on the medication that THEY prescribed. They new the recent history and care, not my primary (who i was in the midst of changing because of a move. so really, i didn't have anyone else at the moment). So here i am scared about what to do about my dog and how to get the meds. Now i have to take the time and spend more money for a vet visit just to have someone discuss the blood results for me and tell me how sick my baby still is. I guess they got their money and we are no longer a patient so they could care less.Read Less

This place preys upon desperate owners instead of providing a level of pragmatic care that would be the most humane. After spending over $5k we find out the 'neurologist' (Dr. Powers) who was supposed to be caring for our dog wasn't even in the office for days during his hospitalization. Repeated calls to the facility requesting to speak with a doctor were always deflected by rude secretaries guarding the phones. After three days in SVS care our dog was sent home in the same condition if not worse. Read Less

A incorrect diagnosis of meningitis from a ER vet sent us home on Saturday - by Monday morning she had become unresponsive - it was one mistake after another. 1) they did bloodwork - but sent me home because they were busy and it would be a few hours (mind you my dog was unable to keep her eyes open) 2) they called in the morning telling me to see a neurologist - that her blood work could not be completed since their machine broke. They would get the results Sunday night. 3) Monday morning I called for her results - they finally looked at them (telling me they came back Sunday night - no one had bothered to look) they then sent me to Lynnwood stating I needed a neurologist - that her bloodwork was not good. When I got to Lynnwood - they diagnosed her with diabetes - she never needed a neurologist - she needed electrolytes - they (Lynnwood) said there was too much damage done by Monday morning to her brain & kidneys to survive. It happened so fast. She had undiagnosed diabetes, the electrolytes were crazy bad, they said her prognosis was grave and recommended euthanasia. I was shocked and not at all prepared. I thought she just had a infection. She never had any symptoms of diabetes - I'm beyond crushed. I am so mad at the incorrect diagnosis - I don't know if she could have been saved - but I can't help but think at least she would have had a chance to fight. (I called to complain & they told me they were sorry - they felt like it was because the ER doctor was so busy, she thought cashmere was fine) They were going to open an investigation. I haven't heard from them. I will never trust them again.Read Less

I cannot say enough good things about SVS. We were out of town when for the weekend when our puppy jumped off the stairs and broke his elbow. Our vet called SVS Monday morning to explain the severity of the break and they got us in for surgery that afternoon with Dr. Engen. Our vet told us if we want the best, we needed to go there. Every person involved in our care was amazing. The vet tech Felicia put us at ease, explained everything thoroughly, and really listened to all of our concerns. Aside from a successful surgery, we were quoted a low cost of $3800 and a high cost of $4800, so our deposit was $3800. We anticipated paying more when we went to pick him up today and they told us it cost LESS than anticipated and we got a $600 refund! Ity Bity was our Chihuahua. She had a rough start in life. Her first veterinarian believed she had come from a puppy mill. She had obviously had a puppies and she was in pretty bad shape. She weighed barely 5 pounds, had almost no hair and her Β breath and Β teeth were horrible. In early 2010 some friends of mine found her crying in a dumpster near Disneyland. They dug her out and brought her home but weren't able to keep her as their apartment didn't allow pet. I jumped at the chance to take her. The first thing I did was take her to the vet to get her shots and have her spayed. The vet also tried to clean her teeth but unfortunately they fell out as he attempted to clean each one. She was left with one tooth. She did fine there though, I simply cut her food into very small pieces. He guessed her age at around 5 years perhaps a little older. Then in late 2011 we moved up here to Washington. She was such a great little travel companion. Ity Bity has had regular visits to the veterinarian for her general health and to keep her shots up to date. Around 2014 we found out she had a slight heart murmur. This concerned us because we had lost a previous Chihuahua to a severe heart murmur which eventually led to heart failure. In 2015 and again 2016 Ity Bity had an Echo Cardiogram which showed her heart murmur was fairly slight. In Sept of 2016, I noticed Ity Bity seemed to be breathing a bit too fast. Since that was the main symptom of our previous Chihuahua with a murmur, I immediately took her to the Seattle Veterinary Specialists in Kirkland. The office staff and doctors were prompt, courteous and compassionate. On her initial evaluation they thought she might have a lung infection but would need an x-ray to confirm this and since she was already known to have a heart murmur they wanted another Echo Cardiogram to compare with the one she had 3 months previous. They would need to hospitalize her for her care. She was placed in oxygen and started on IV medication. The following morning the hospital called and said her condition was improving but she hadn't eaten much. The next day they called again and she was improving even more. They even took her outside for a short walk but she tired quickly and still wasn't eating much. That night my wife and I went to visit her and brought some of her regular food. I got her to eat a little but still not much. The following morning they called with good news, she had eaten all her food and was ready to come home. We arrived at the hospital in the afternoon and the doctor explained to us what they had found. The comparison Echo Cardiogram showed her heart murmur was essentially the same as 3 months previous. That was a huge relief but she did in fact have a lung infection, pneumonia. He gave us some antibiotics and instructions to administer them. On arriving home I noticed she was still breathing too fast. I thought it might be the excitement of being home or the ride in the car, she loved riding in the car and would get very excited. I watched her for a couple of hour and no change. I called the hospital to tell them of my concern and spoke with the doctor who had released her. He said don't worry, just give the oral medications a chance to work. I continued to watch her throughout the evening and called again in the evening to tell them she was still breathing too fast. They explained that the IV medications were faster acting but the oral medication would kick in. Ity Bity seemed to sleep well during the night but in the morning I called again voicing my concerns for her rapid respiration and again was told give the medication a chance. By that evening she was still about the same but this time I took her back to the hospital anyway. They took her in and put her back in oxygen and told us they would try, I think it was, steroids to make the other medication act more quickly. Again they would keep her overnight. We got home and a very few hours later they called and said Ity Bity had taken a turn for the worse. She had stopped breathing and even though they got her breathing again her prognosis wasn't good. I kind of panicked and said I was leaving immediately. If she had to be euthanized, I at least wanted to hold her while it happened. It was a 45 minute drive and I arrived too late, my Ity Bity had already passed. At my request they brought me her poor little lifeless body. I held her close and cried for probably an hour. It has been 6 weeks now and I am still crushed. I can't help but hold Seattle Veterinary Specialists responsible. I believe they released her too soon and then gave me bad advise about giving the medication a chance to work. Sadly that bad advise cost my Ity Bity her life. Ironically, the next morning I had a voice mail telling me "pneumonia is nothing to mess around with, get her back to the ER immediately". If only I had received that message sooner. I have written the hospital a complaint but it seems they are ignoring it. Read Less

If there was an option for no stars I'd be using it! My cat is an 8 yr old healthy Sphynx that has never been outdoors besides the occasional trip to see the vet etc. On Tuesday night at around 11:00pm he began vomiting and became limp. He seemed like he was choking. I immediately searched for the closest emergency vet in my area and found this one. I got in a cab and arrived with him still out of it. The vet tech took his vitals and went back to report that his temp was extremely low. The vet asked for him to be brought back immediately. After about 30 minutes the vet came out and asked me to sit down. He told me my cat was not doing well and recommended that he stay overnight for diagnostics. I asked how much I would need to pay. He told me for one night $1000. I told him I only had about $400 and he immediately stopped me and said, "You have 3 options. 1. Pay to have him stay overnight to run tests. 2. Have him put down. Or 3. Give him some fluids and anti nausea meds and take him home but his chances aren't good and he may not make it through the night." I chose option 3. I took him home and he was still looking pretty bad but definitely better. I took him to the regular vet the next morning and he was back to normal. My vet ran some tests for around 200 and we found out he was just eating too fast and aspirating because of his food going into his lungs. Easy fix I feed him 4 times a day instead of 2 and feed him in a dish with holes so it takes him longer. Thank god I didn't put him to sleep!!! Read Less

Bryce had a TPLO surgery performed by Dr Messeghers in May 2015. One would think this was a simple surgery however when you pick a doctor like Byron one must be prepared for the worst. Honestly, this review is long overdue. My first experience with SVS was in the mid 2000s when my first English Bulldog, Jumbo, whimpered in pain when I got home from work.I was convinced that he got something similar to "wry neck" from sleeping too long on an IKEA chair in a weird position. When I rushed him to emergency, I was referred to Dr. Sean Sanders for an MRI.I was thinking to myself that I can't afford a surgery anyway, why would I want an MRI? But the ER doc guilt-ed me into making an appointment with SVS.So, I brought Jumbo in to meet with Dr. Sanders. He was super nice and gave Jumbo a neuro exam and told me what I suspected. He said that there's no reason to get an MRI now because if he truly needed surgery, you would need another MRI right before surgery anyways, so don't bother for now. Instead, he prescribed some muscle relaxant and told us to come back if Jumbo didn't get any better. At this point, I felt both relief and guilty since I came in expecting to dish out more than $1K for an MRI, but is walking away with the charge for an office visit. On review of the x-ray, Jumbo did appear constipated because he couldn't "bear down" to go with his neck pain. So, with Dr. Sander's blessings, we let them perform an enema on Jumbo. So, three hours later, I get a call. "Your dog wouldn't poo, we are giving him a second enema."Thankfully, that did the trick and Jumbo was happier when we picked him up. Much to my surprise, not only did they only charge me for "one" instead of "two" enema, their service charge for the enema is much much less than the quote I got at the original ER place that referred us.I am thankful now that the first ER referred us to SVS. In fact, I thought SVS was so much better I will not be returning to the first ER.Fast forward to 2016.We brought our dog Cocoa in because she was shaking with discomfort and loss of appetite. She was quickly diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and giardia, so, she stayed on respiratory watch. The folks at SVS were very professional. They actually gave us two estimates showing how much things should cost in the best case scenario, and the high end cost if things do not go smoothly. So, we prepaid the best case scenario and left Cocoa in their care with them telling us we can visit her anytime as long as we called ahead. So, later that night, we returned to tuck Cocoa in and see how she was doing.Cocoa was totally sleeping like a baby as the video I attached showed. The area where they kept her had a nice vibe to it. The nice ladies actually laid a blanket down on the floor so we could play with Cocoa as long as we liked before putting her back in the cage for the night. They did not rush us at all and really let us take our time to feel comfortable with everything that's happening.I can go on and on and on. In short, I would recommend SVS to anyone that seek care for their dog without any hesitation.P.S. I am editing the review because I forgot to mention that I actually got a refund when I picked Cocoa up! They didn't end up having to do as much as they thought they needed to do on the best case scenario, so they gave us money back! How awesome is that? Read Less

Free coffee Kurig type machine, vending machine for snacks, huge clean restrooms with multiple stalls. Lots of exam rooms and an ER.I like many reviews before me am here for Kitty kidney failure on a 15 year old cat. Tonight prognosis is not good. We are giving the cat fluids to see if his blood count panel numbers start to head in the correct direction. If there is no movement in numbers then there is no hope and Fat Baby is dying. The Dr. was awesome. I want to attempt some care before giving up while trying to reduce some costs. Dr. and I came up with a game plan after the initial estimate was completed to reduce some of the costs but could still monitor my kitty, give him fluids and meds, and then reevaluate in 24 hours. 2 day overnight care kitty kidney failure is aprox $4500. That's in addition to the $3k we spent over the past 2 months going to different primary care vets. We should have just come here in the first place. I will know for future animals. This facility also does blood transfusions. Other vet hospitals do not. This facility has an onsite radiologist and internist so you don't have to wait for sending labs and X-rays out for review. About seven months ago, our kitty Jasper suddenly began limping and seemed to be in significant pain. We made the mistake of taking him to another local emergency vet and the experience was awful. We were told Jasper would probably die that night if we didn't agree to X treatment immediately (which I couldn't afford), and the vet made me feel like I was choosing to let him die due to not having adequate funds to pay for his immediate care. Luckily, they recommended SVS Vet for a second opinion, and we took him there the next morning. SVS was a completely different environment from the first hospital upon entrance. Their facilities were clean and modern, and the team at the Front Desk was very kind and helpful. We met with the cardiologist and Jasper was diagnosed with heart disease and a blot clot in the leg. They were professional throughout and provided a post-visit summary and care instructions the same day via email, which helped us know what warning signs to look for. Jasper was given medication for his condition, and though we knew he would not be with us for more than a year, we were able to buy more time with him, and make him comfortable. We went in for both routine check-ups and emergency visits over the following months, and each time the care provided by the staff was excellent. After seven months, unfortunately we did lose Jasper; but because we were educated on his condition, and were able to treat his symptoms and pain, he had a great final few months with his family. We are grateful for that. Yes, this place can be pricey; but you will always be given treatment options, and there is a credit plan available if you are in a tight spot. i don't blame personal for my pet's death. cat was brought in critical condition .she was dying but ER procedures and direct communication about reality of condition of Cat between doctor and owner desired to be direct and honest.1.clinic is clean, well equipped, ready to ER at any time.2.personal is friendly and supportive.3.doctor Angela is knowledgeable and in spite of young age does have experience in clearly setting up line of steps to set up the line of tests and medications for ANY possible cause versus taken responsibility to diagnose or have a personal opinion as DOCTOR on diagnose and what to do to intervene and the death.... 4. doctor Angela was more cautious with initial set of recommendations because, i think, i had shown my medical background when reviewing estimates: i decrease the first bill by 50% from lower end estimates ( to 400$)and 80% from upper range of 2400$ by just requesting tests that can give me , former surgeon, directions on what to do next. 5. charges/ bill experience- i was fully involved in adjusting the processes and tests to be billed for in 3 steps: 1) initial estimate from 825 to 2400$ was brought to me after doctor had comprehended that i do understand in ER medical - she agreed to adjust to 425$. quite a difference?!!! 2) after blood tests (which did not bring any issues except possible cancer in gastro tract and possible blood vessels blockage due to low white cells) the processes were put into 1135$ to continue - fluid, monitoring blood pressure/heart,antibiotics. 3) final bill 933$ - i consider it reasonable from $ on processes that had been achieved but...we went through each item in detailed processes that had been done as i did not see any hope for further treatment of suffering and dying pet...but i have to mention that urine test that agreed to be made had not been done - it was very important in dehydration to monitor kidney functions - even if the blood shows ok...anyway, lots of painkillers had been given which i consider as a not agreed or even anti prescribed actions for such state - low blood pressure/gastro tract issues- as those painkillers will lower the pressure and willnot help in any matter to boost cat's resistance to infection if any...i know it is subjective.4) personal kept me informed on actions and condition of the pet by calling me earlier than agreed because conditions were decreasing... this is very important point -they were open to say that they don't know the cause and can't figure out the treatment ...untill i'll follow with set of all possible tests and processes in 24-48 hours care and of course the bill would be in a range of 3.5-4k+.... there is no blame on personal for lethal ending of my pet but upon my opinion it did look like more money extracting process rather then giving direct options and clear set up that cat is dying and even if not there is a potential brain vessels cloth upon cat's conditions at ER entry.however, the processes to keep pet alive - such as fluid and oxygen upon need had been used and i can say it kept pet alive and painkillers take off from sufferings if it was a cancer case or potential shut off of pancreatic or kidney...but my expectations on ER procedures such as quick diagnose of the current condition of animal and directions on curing the cause were not clear.and again, it was my call to define steps to diagnose the organs versus just keeping a pet in 48 hours with all possible exams and consequently huge end up bill.....at the end it was my fault not doing yearly blood tests checks and urine tests for my 14 years old pet. I had traveled out of state with my 2 1/2 yo Golden Retriever, Allie. We stayed on the beach, and she ate some foxtails. She likes grass, and I try to deter her at all costs. She had started coughing, choking like she was trying to cough up a hairball. We took her first to a walk in vet clinic where the vet recommended that our dog have an endoscopy, to determine where exactly the foxtail was at. We were given a few different veterinary hospital choices. All the places were coming in with estimates of 800-1600 dollars for the endoscopy! We were shocked. We have a healthy active Golden, until this episode.Due to our own people schedule, we weren't able to bring Allie in until two days later. From the easy way to find this place, to ample parking, to the welcome mat thrown out for us and for our dog, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. We met with the Dr Matt Vaughan - a good vet - who thought once he moved from CA, he would not be seeing foxtails again.. to Linda who was in training... the front desk staff, all were wonderful. The only draw back, was one gentleman, who was difficult to understand, and I didn't get his name, kept getting my answers wrong, he would repeat them back, and I would correct him. He raised my anxiety level and my frustration level that he couldn't get the answers correct. All that went away when we met with Dr Matt though. We mentioned that while we wanted good care for our dog, we wanted to go in increments, if they could find the foxtails, removed them without going the really expensive route, with the rhino endoscopy, then please do it. Allie had to be put under sedation, but I had trust in these people, and about 2 1/2 hours later, Allie was ready to be picked up, and lo and behold, the charge was less. That doesn't happen often, but they were able to find the foxtails, one behind each tonsil.. these insidious grasses don't break down, and stay in a pet's system. All in all, this is a great place, comfy to wait, they will take care of you, and are understanding of a person's financial needs, all the while keeping your pet's health in mind.

Read Less

Our quote was for 12 to 24hrs and I asked if there was other options. Her reply was you can leave Why not suggest if she does well overnight the cost would be less because she could go home sooner. Worst case it would be the higher. OK, I don't know what all of the low reviews are all about. I'm not reading them, I don't care. I was sent here by my vet in Woodinville when both of my dogs became ill suddenly. We were treated with such sensitivity and kindness. I can't thank them enough, for their coordination, for the advice, for the thoughtfulness. We lost a large part of our family that day, and they were wonderful, without any phoniness. Dr. Harriage (if I spelled that wrong, I apologize) is straight forward and honest. I recommend her. She will discuss all possibilities with you. She will not b.s. you about what is going on with your pet. She is genuinely caring. Because the day was such a blur, I do forget the names of everyone else on the staff who helped us through the day...but they were all wonderful. I appreciate each and every one of them. It was a rotten day, they treated us and our pets very lovingly. We got to say goodbye and stay with them through the end. Calm and very nice. They let us grieve privately, too.

Read Less

Read Less

We waited a few weeks so our american bulldog could get his TPLO surgery from Dr. Engen (we heard he was DA BEST, though I'm sure all of their specialists are qualified!). The staff there are VERY nice, friendly, and accommodating of my dog-reactive dog. Everyone perked up when we would go in for checkups, therapy, everything. Β It was nice to see everyone loved and took care of him, and he clearly was a flirt despite all the pain meds he got! We are now doing PT with Stephanie and it is very worth it. Β I highly recommend a few sessions to help your dog get back on track post surgery :) Read Less

My dog has oral cancer. I went the SVS to see about treatment options. After the visit they emailed me the summary of treatment options. I noticed my phone number and my dog's birth date were wrong on the document. I called to correct these. I found out later that day that the phone number was still wrong. They had changed it but they had changed the wrong number. So I had to correct it again! The dog's birth date was wasn't off by just one number, as the phone number was. The entire date, month, day, and year, were wrong. This makes me think they got my dog's records got mixed up with another dog's there. They tried to blame the inaccuracy on the referring vet but I have been taking my dog to the referring vet all her life and all my records from them show they have the correct birth date. SVS wants to do surgery on her for her oral tumor. This makes me very nervous. If they got basic contact information wrong ... twice ... how can I trust them with a scalpel!? Read Less

I took my 17 year old Pomeranian to this vet hospital because he had cancer and was getting so weak he could hardly stand. They gave him food and then ignored him. When he started choking on the food they continued to ignore him until it was too late. He was laying there struggling and clawing trying to breathe, his lips and his tongue turned blue, his normally bright eyes turned dull and glazed and they continued to ignore him. By the time they tried to help him and cleared his airway he was so exhausted his heart gave out and he could not be revived. They killed my sweet little BABY with their negligence and neglect. Not only did they kill him, but he died a horrible gruesome, grotesque and painful death. I will never be able to forget watching his pain and struggle trying to live. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!! Parking: huge parking lot and spaces right up front are handicap where in the event of an extreme emergency it is likely you could pull straight up to the front door so long as someone is not parked in the handicap space. They even have an ambulance. If they have an ambulance I wonder if they are the official vet for K9 Police officers I noticed a police station near by.Huge waiting room with typical emergency room chairs a flat screen with cable TV. Staff is kind and professional in an emotionally heartbreaking experience. Read Less

I can't recommend this place enough for your furry family member.Read Less

i don't blame personal for my pet's death. cat was brought in critical condition .she was dying but ER procedures and direct communication about reality of condition of Cat between doctor and owner desired to be direct and honest.1.clinic is clean, well equipped, ready to ER at any time.2.personal is friendly and supportive.3.doctor Angela is knowledgeable and in spite of young age does have experience in clearly setting up line of steps to set up the line of tests and medications for ANY possible cause versus taken responsibility to diagnose or have a personal opinion as DOCTOR on diagnose and what to do to intervene and the death.... 4. doctor Angela was more cautious with initial set of recommendations because, i think, i had shown my medical background when reviewing estimates: i decrease the first bill by 50% from lower end estimates ( to 400$)and 80% from upper range of 2400$ by just requesting tests that can give me , former surgeon, directions on what to do next. 5. charges/ bill experience- i was fully involved in adjusting the processes and tests to be billed for in 3 steps: 1) initial estimate from 825 to 2400$ was brought to me after doctor had comprehended that i do understand in ER medical - she agreed to adjust to 425$. quite a difference?!!!
