We have been taking our furry babies to see Dr. Renee forever. She and all her staff are professional, caring and compassionate. They love and treat our pets as if they were their own. Wonderful place. We had to say goodbye to our long time companion and best friend forever, Monte, a 13 year old miniature poodle. Best dog I've ever had or known. Due to an illness we assisted him when it got too much for his little body to bare. They never got to see him at his best, only our worst. My unending gratitude to all the staff at Lake Stevens Animal Hospital for their kindness, professionalism, warmth and caring throughout his care/hospice plan. LSAH renders great service. The staff is accommodating and knowledgeable. Dr. Renee is kind, loving, and understands the needs of both the animal and client. All healthcare is expensive. Whether human or animal it is sometimes difficult to understand. Costs of operating a clinic with trained staff is high. I have no issues with costs as I have the right to make a choice. I have utilized the services of LSAH for over 10 years. I have recommended them to many of my friends and neighbors. Dr.Renee and her staff are wonderful people to work with! They always put my pets needs first. Before they proceeded with any diagnostics the nurse gave me a estimate so I knew exactly what they were doing and how much it was going to cost me! They recommended pet insurance when I got my new puppy and I am so glad I did. My puppy was 5 months old and decided to eat my lunch full of foods she shouldn't have ate! They fit me in right away to make sure she vomited it up and kept her for observation! They even have a link on their website that gave me a discount on the pet insurance! I took my cat in for a chronic runny nose in just one nostril. They took x-rays of his mouth and said a chipped tooth on the other side of his head was the problem. Nevermind that tooth had been chipped 10+ years. Cost $1000 to get it removed. Several different times while going over the process and afterward I asked "and you think this will stop his runny nose?" Every time they had no idea what I was talking about. They just wanted money. He ended up dying from that nasal issue, his skull was being eaten away by a bacterial infection. If they took xrays of his skull instead of his teeth they might have seen it. I found out the hardest way there's a big difference between those types of xrays. Read Less

I love these guys! Leanna was our vet tech and she was amazing! My dog has had 2 dental surgeries here & a cleaning  (which is pricey & stressful) and Leanna was understanding and helped us choose a payment plan with care credit. When we went to pick up our baby from the vet Leanna greeted us with a "certificate of bravery" (so stinking cute), and a buddy for my dog to cuddle with. So adorable. She was sure to go over aftercare in detail and followed up frequently with our fur baby and, even wrote us a card! This vet genuinely cares about your pets as much as you do. Yes they are going to suggest every possible thing they can do to help your pet (which can get pricey) but when we ultimately chose what to do I felt like I made the right choice and do did Dr. Renee & Leanna. I will say reminder calls would be nice because I have forgotten my appointment before but the receptionist let me know (scheana I believe) she would make a note in my file that we would be getting reminder calls. I LOVE Lake Stevens Animal Hospital! We have been taking our Golden Aussie mix Thor to them since his first check up! They have an AMAZING staff that is so attentive and courteous! Especially to someone who is almost neurotic about my fur baby! I loved their puppy plan, covered so much and a great price! When it comes to pricing it is absolutely reasonable when considering you're not just paying them to care for your pet as their own, but also for such GREAT medicine and a loving hand to give that medicine. This is the only animal hospital I have brought my pets to that I felt the people cared more about my dog than my money! I tell almost everyone I can about them! bunch of jerks. they had animals running free in the office while i was there to have to put down my best friend of the last 15 years. their cats kept coming into the room and getting in the way while they were putting him down. they apparently changed their methods as well and it seemed the new method was very painful for my loved pet. they were not caring. they are out for the buck. already a horrible day for me, i forgot to bring my debit card. they refused to take a check and demanded that i go to an atm and pay them in cash. i had to threaten them to back down. absolutely horrible. made what should have been peaceful for both me and my dog a very bad memory. it hangs on in my thoughts continuously. they are the worst!!Read Less

We have been taking our pets here for about 2 years now and they have been great. Also, just yesterday, I found an abandoned bunny in a parking lot nearby the hospital and took it here because it needed some extreme care; it was very thin and had dental disease which probably prevented him from eating. They took the bunny with just a small donation made by my mom and I and are going to give him all the veterinary care that he needs and later adopt him out to someone who will NOT drop him off on the side of the road to fend for himself. I am amazed that any hospital is willing to do something like this and I want to thank them 10000x over for truly caring about animals! Read Less

I last took my cat here about 2 years ago for some eye problems she was having. The veterinarian (who I believe owns the animal hospital) is so extremely nice, and very knowledgable and compassionate. She always gives my kitty the best care, and I feel very comfortable leaving my pet in her care.That being said, the staff I've encountered the couple times I've taken my pet here can range from friendly to downright rude. This is why I have rated 3 stars. The most recent out of the three times I've been, I had a girl looking over my cat before the veterinarian, and she was so incredibly rude and condescending. She told me that I needed to get my indoor cat a whole list of vaccinations that I had never had to get her before, and then told me I had to get her tested for feline leukemia and have some blood work run on her. She was very condescending towards me, and when I told her I didn't feel all the vaccinations and feline leukemia tests were necessary and I couldn't afford all of it, she asked me why I even bothered to be a pet owner if I couldn't provide the best care for my animal.My cat is an indoor car, with no other cats, and had gotten the feline leukemia test as a kitten and she tested negative for it. I explained that to the girl and she just scoffed at me. The veterinarian then came in and looked over my cat, they ran a blood test for her, and ended up just giving her a cream for her eye and she was fine. I haven't returned in the past 2 years after the last experience I had, because I never wanted to be treated so poorly by another veterinary assistant again. Read Less

Not Recommended. At this place it's all about money and they charge top dollar for everything. They charged us $200 for one office visit when all they did was treat a case of Diarrhea. And not only that, they wanted the money first! ...Before any services were rendered. We had been going there and had a good credit standing. And then the medicine thay gave us was marked up 400%. As a customer of 6 years, we have found the best veterinary office ever. It seemed a little dubious in a strip mall, but our real estate agent had recommended it. Now we recommend it to all of our neighbors in Snohomish county. With three dogs, we take them to Dr Renee for their dental work, vaccinations, one cyst removal on the spine of my senior male dachshund, neuters and general check ups. The true test came when we had to put our beloved Rosie down. The compassion of the whole team and especially Dr Renee made it such a special peaceful time. The prices are fair, in fact, we hate after hours emergencies because we then have to go to Pilcuck where everything costs 3-4 times more. Olivia, Zoe and Franky always feel right at home with the staff and we wouldn't trust our dogs to just anyone. They really understand that the dogs are an important part of our family. Read Less

I took my dog here and they really disapointed us. They told us one thing and meant another when explaining pricing. They charge for every little thing possible. They charge $25 just to clean a cut and another $25 to wrap it. The complimentry aftercare is not complimentry either. I walked out of there feeling like I mistreated, lied to and manipulated. Dr. Rene is the best vet. We had her as our vet when we lived in Lake Stevens and still come to her for a serious problem after moving south 3 years ago. She is the most compassionate and through vet I have ever met. She truly cares for pets and is truthful in her practice. I would recommend her for any pet owner as a true vet of heart. This is one of the better animal hospitals I have encountered in the area.  Unfortunately it is also very expensive.   They lack some of the more high tech testing equipment that an ailing pet requires, and that I would expect to see for the price paid.  I take my pets here for routine care due to their proximity to our house, but for more complex issues I prefer  to travel all the way to Federal Way to Sacajawea Animal Hospital to see Dr. Harris.  It's a long drive, but worth his expertise and having the proper equipment readily available.
