Well i was told on the phone that I could make payment for my services i received after I paid the office visit fee. At my appt i paid the office visit fee and was told that I needed to pay the whole bill that day. I was then told that I did not talk to anyone there about payment arrangements because they don't do that. So they acted like I was lying. As im standing there trying to figure this all out another lady was behind me in line with her huge dog that has that time decided he was going to try to get my dog which i was holding and she was looking over my shoulder, he jumped up and knocked me forward into the desk. I was in pain immediately i have had previous back surgery and I told the receptionist immediately that hurt my back. Well she put her dog in her car and came back in and not a single person said anything or even asked if I was alright. They all acted like nothing happened. This vet clinic was so helpful and kind to us!  We were set to take pets out of the country but were turned away at the airport due to an error in our paperwork. We were working in a serious time crunch and additionally working around limited holiday hours. We called them, explained our situation and they squeezed us in immediately!  They gave us all the paperwork we needed. The vet gave my dogs a thorough exam and was extraordinarily kind and compassionate. If they do this much for out of town on-clients I can only imagine how well they take care of their regular clients. I highly recommend! Read Less

I am sitting here at the clinic while I write this review. I made an appointment to put my dog down. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do. When I called in they said since they haven't seen my dog before I would have to pay for an exam. This is like the doctor asking an inmate on death row if he has allergies before giving him lethal injection. Going back to this being hard, I have been left in a waiting room for over 40 minutes already having to think about the decision to part with my dog. While I could see real empathy from the staff, I would have preferred this be considered. Read Less

I brought my Little Sasha there for the first time. She was getting near the end and I didn't want her to suffer. After a couple weeks of meds, she wasn't getting any better. She was 17, fairly old for a cat. I made the decision to have her put down.From the moment I walked in I was treated with compassion and empathy. I was taken to a private room right away. Sasha and I spent some time hugging, crying and saying good bye. The assistant came in and took Sasha to put in an IV to administer the drugs. Crying, feeling guilty, enormous sadness engulfed me. Questioning my decision and everything else. They brought her back and said the DR would be in soon. So I held Sasha, petting, crying...this was so very hard. The Dr came in and was so respectful, caring, compassionate and very gentle. After they told me to stay with her as long as I wanted.This is one of the hardest decisions I have had to make in my life. I am so glad that Chambers Creek was there to help me through this. Today I went to the mail and they had sent me a sympathy card with seeds. So I may have flowers that will be a reminder of Sasha. Of the love we shared and the joy she gave me though out her life. by far the best place in the pierce county area to take your pet. Not only do they ensure to meet your expectations, they make sure you are on the same page in terms of payment, prior to treating your pet and make sure you have all questions answered. I had taken taken my dog to metro to treat his ears and got some antibiotics that may or may not be the right ones, they did not even swab the ear, just looked at it, and charged over twice the amount chambers charged me for same condition (it hadnt gone away) chambers swabbed ear, and put the one time medicine in for me which is a huge deal when trying to wrestle a dog as big as me to get anywhere near an ear, and i got free flea meds. Hands down this is the best vet around, and i was referred by a veterinarian that he takes his dogs to chambers. I've been using them for years! Always happy with the care they receive. I recently boarded my cat for 2 nights. The "cat condos" are clean, multilevel and located in a well lit room with a big window. The litter box is hidden in the bottom level do they aren't stuck in the same area their pooper is in. "Buyer Beware and be prepared for Sticker Shock" - took my dogs there for vaccines and a well check. Sat in the waiting area for 20 minutes before being taken into an exam room. Waited an additional 20 minutes before being seen. The Vet seemed "frazzled" and in a hurry. She did not refer to my dogs by their names nor did she know my name. They failed from the front desk to vet techs to veterinarian in providing any semblance of personalized care. After an additional 20 minutes, the vet tech brought some medications but did not provide adequate "discharge instructions" and was not able to answer my questions. Upon check out I received a bill for over $350.00. They performed tests I did not ask for and without notifying me. They charged $59.99 for each dog to simply be seen and then charged additional fees for each vaccine (3 each) and the unnecessary "preventative" tests (feel free to do the math) When I protested about the tests that were done without my knowledge and permission, they refused to remove the fees from my bill. When I stated I wouldn't pay for the tests they threatened to send me to collections. Additionally, do not be bamboozled into purchasing the "Paw Pals Plan" - they charge a $49.99 non-refundable sign up fee and dependent upon the "wellness plan" it can run you between $450.00 to $750.00 (per dog). This "discount plan" does not cover meds and tests. They will highlight a couple of services but chances are you won't need or use them. They care more about $$ then they do about the families and pets. They are the pet equivalent of a "Doc in the Box" If you love your pets you shouldn't even consider taking your animals there. Our pets have been seen here for the past three years and no matter the quirks, each of my pets were treated as if they were loved by the staff. I have a lab that doesn't like to be handled by strangers and they were amazing with him. Recently I had to put my kitty, Venus, to sleep. The entire staff were sweet, compassionate and professional. I have been taking my dog to this clinic. They charge reasonable amount of fee for doctors' visits. Last week I took my dog since she has been panting lately, two to three times a day and lasts for 10 minutes each. I asked the vet if she could have Cushing disease blood tests just to be sure since from what I read on internet, this could be the reason. The vet instead ordered a complete blood test, not the test I asked. I don't know why since my dog had a complete blood test done last year and everything was okay except her liver was a little bit enlarged. The complete blood test came back okay. So the vet now agreed to do additional blood test to check if my dog indeed had Cushing disease. Well, the tests came back negative as well. After more than $700.00 dollar, we still don't know what causes the periodic panting.FYI, my dog is old, almost 15 years of age. The vet suggested more tests. I don't think so. I only wish they had done the Cushing disease test to begin with when I requested just to eliminate unnecessary blood tests. Read Less

Peace of mind, excellent service, reliableThis clinic sets the bar for customer service, reliability, and excellent care for pets. We unfortunately had our puppy vomiting and suffered a bit of stomach issues. We called the clinic and explained our situation. We were welcomed to come down to the clinic and be seen as soon as possible when a dr was available between other visits. The sense of urgency and empathy received by the staff here is what made us realized we made a great decision to have our puppy be seen here. Although we weren't able to afford the additional treatments other than the examination fee ($60), we weren't forced into a sales pitch or left with a guilty conscience. We were offered a free check up call to see how he was doing as well as a friendly goodbye. Other clinics we have been through try to give you a sales pitch to purchase the additional care services or health plans or leave you with a guilty conscience of what may happen if you don't get these right now. Those clinics seem to be to focused on selling the additional products and services rather than showing care for the animals. I recommend this clinic to all pet owners! Staff here have always treated our dogs and cat like family and we love the PAW plans. Now that we pay over time for treatment and services our kids are actually in better health than ever - they all get regular blood/urine/fecal tests and dental cleanings! The facility is clean, easy to navigate, and cats and dogs have separate waiting areas. Can't speak highly enough of the staff, from the front desk to the Vets and techs, everyone at Chambers Creek is professional, reliable, and remembers who we are and why we are there! I really love this place my cat had peed on the tile twice so we took him in. Yeah this wasnt serious but it was weird so I called that day and was able get seen that day :) and it ended up being worse than we though. Thanks for being there all employees of Chambers Bay Vet on Thursday 25 February at 1030. My Boxer/Pug mix, Adora had been itching and tearing at her back to the point of abject torture for a number of months. I had used every home treatment found online to treat what I saw as some complicated condition caused by who knew what. I had been adding olive oil, ground flax, some salmon oil, and a tiny amount of organic vinegar to her food hoping to compensate for anything missing in her diet. Finally the condition worsened to the point I called Chambers Bay vet to set up on appointment for the following day afternoon. Her condition was bad enough the next morning I called again and the staff found an early appointment for the morning. The staff received and in-processed us with the utmost professionalism from the front desk to the nurse to the doctor who immediately determined Adora had had an allergic reaction to a strange creature called a FLEA !!
