The prices they charge for drugs is infuriating! They take advantage of the fact that the average consumer has no idea the price of drugs to treat our pets. They charged me $38.65 for a tube of NeoPolyDex Eye ointment when the price on MWI Animal Health (where I order supplies for the clinic that I work at) is $7.00. They charged $47 for a .3ml shot of Convenia when .3ml cost them about $9 total including the syringe and needle. I have lost my trust for this practice. Also, the price to spay a 6 month old cat is $230+. I will not be taking my pets to this price gouging clinic any longer. Read Less

GREAT clinic with knowledgeable, friendly staff throughout. The definition of what you want in a vet: Individualized care with all around attention to circumstances -- from your individual pet's health and prognosis to financial considerations and options. Dr. Emily especially provided excellent care for my 13 year old Lab who has a very difficult issue, kept me informed and discussed all possibilities, and when on boarding and traveling, I was called immediately with complications and thoughts. I've worked many vets across the country, professional trainers and have written on dogs for Outdoor Life magazine, Field & Stream, Gun Dogs, ESPN and others. I have been using Legacy for just over 9 years, since i brought home my golden, Stoli. For many years, I felt he was getting the best care possible. Every 6 months or so, we elected to have fatty cysts removed & tested for Cancer, since Cancer had run in his blood line. None of those came back malignant. The last surgery he had, this past summer, he had been left on the heating pad too long and ended up getting burnt. Legacy took care of 2-4 times a week dressing changes and all bills as part of this issue. This was the beginning of his decline. In early January, Stoli had not been eating and was lethargic, so I took him in to have him checked out and was sent home after spending over $600 in xrays, medication & bland diet for him to recuperate. 2 days later, after a little improvement and then decline, I called to see what to do and was told to call a referred vet to set up and ultrasound the next day. Later that day, I ended up taking Stoli to the pet emergency only to find out that he was in heart failure and may not make it though the night....he made it until 7am and then passed away at age 9 1/2. My poor kitty got attacked, and had a huge wound that started to get infected. I called Legacy and got in that day. After taking my pets to Legacy for several years trusting that they had my animals' best interest at heart and spending thousands of dollars in medications and exams we sought care from another facility. It was then that we discovered that the anti-inflammatories we have been giving to my dog for several years were not needed as she did not have arthritis at all. We also discovered that a mass on her shoulder that we were told was nothing to worry about several years ago was in fact cancerous. We had to make the heartbreaking decision this past weekend to have our beloved dog euthanized as we were unable to make her comfortable. If Legacy had taken x-rays they would have seen that she did not have arthritis of any kind and if they had taken the time to biopsy the mass on her shoulder they would have discovered the cancer years ago while it was still treatable. Instead, my poor baby spent the past year or more suffering after several misdiagnoses and receiving medications that were not needed and not helping her. I should have been a better advocate for my loved ones and demanded x-rays, biopsies, etc. but truly believed that they cared for my pets as much as I do. Read Less

I've used Legacy vets since I moved to this area nearly 2 years ago for my two little rescues. I've always found their staff to be professional, friendly, and helpful. I'm disabled and they frequently come right out to my car to help me get them inside. Yes, the prices are high, but the service, knowledge and treatment for the animals is worth it. I have never seen such compassion when I woke up one day and realized my little guy, Radar, was in trouble. While I've never had an issue with appointments (getting them in a timely way), this was an even better experience since they dropped everything for my guy. When I realized there was nothing that could be done for him, the vets and staff made a horrible event less stressful. If it hadn't been for the empathy and compassion that day, I would have been traumatized forever because of the loss; they helped me through that grief. We haven't used Legacy for vet services since we have a vet but we have used them for kenneling when we have gone on vacation. They are the only place that we could find that was inexpensive and would give our dog his insulin shots. We've had nothing but great service from them, especially when it comes to ordering Buddy's diabetic food. I may start using their grooming service as well since it isn't much more than what we are paying now. Read Less

Legacy Animal Medical Center has gone above and beyond for me and my pup dog. The building is spotless clean, comfortable and charming. We were given a FREE bag dog food, treats and water the very first day we came in, how often does that happen?! All of the doctors that we have seen during this scary time have been highly attentive, knowledgeable, and extremely compassionate. All of the assistance are ready to help at a drop of a dime and do everything they can to help you understand what is going on. The entire office understands how spendy this week has been and finds every way they can do add 'complimentary' to our bill. I will NEVER take my animals anywhere else. They were kind enough to let me bring a second dog in for a simple procedure afterwards. My dogs love going there and would stay if I let them. A few of the techs I don't care for but for our 4 dogs we have gotten excellent service great communication and a welcoming warmth from the reception folks. I've been going to this vet for quite a few years and when I first started they were great. All the Doctors, Techs & Staff were wonderful, however that has changed. Most of the time you see the Doctor for about 5 minutes and simple have to repeat what you just told the Tech. Then the Tech makes you feel absolutely horrible if you decide you can't afford to do every little thing the Doctor is asking you to do or buy. I actually had one Tech tell me I was an irresponsible dog owner and I was killing him for not upping his medicine; of course it was already costing me over $125 a month just for his meds. That doesn't include the other $125 for the other dog and cat. Plus their fees are at least 25% more then every other Vet I've looked into. If I had 1 or 2 animals I probably would have found another Vet by now but it's not that easy with the amount of animals I have. Though that may all change soon since the staff never seems to think that my refill requests deserve to be called into the pharmacy, it usually takes me at least two calls to get them to do it. I've actually run out of meds because of this. Don't get me wrong, they're good doctors; I just don't know what changed to make them this way.Read Less
